Garden Pizza has been a staple in the Milford area for several decades. In my opinion the reason for their longevity is the food and service. The pizza is great but what I think they're really known for is their excellent sub sandwiches! My personal favorite is the Meatball sub which has generous portions of meatballs, sauce and cheese. If you like subs, you will not be dissatisfied with any of their high quality, fresh, and delicious sandwiches. They do have a few booths but they primarily do take away. It's not exactly a cozy spot, I wouldn't go here on a fancy date. The booths seem to serve more to people waiting than for eating at. The service is always pleasant and helpful and does not seem to suffer when they are hit with a rush of order. Reliable and consistent. read more

Got a tuna sub. Which I have gotten from them several times previously and it was always great. Lately bread hasn't been fresh. You can tell the difference. I think they are slipping in their quality control. read more

Just moved to Milford and came here for the first time. I couldn't decide between the steak and cheese or the pastrami grinders and they were nice enough to make a half-and-half. Absolutely amazing personally I love the pastrami, but both were great. Everybody working there was extremely nice and pleasant. At first glance, it might look like an ordinary pizza joint. The dining room is brightly lit and very clean, with three banks of booths. I was initially struck by the number of staff working behind the counter, especially on a Monday evening. The reason soon became obvious. The phone rang constantly with orders, the line for pick up was nonstop and the delivery guy was in and out multiple times with multiple pies tucked into insulated bags. The menu is quite extensive, including appetizers,specialty pizzas, pasta dishes, grinders/wraps, salads, desserts and a kids' menu. Prices were very reasonable, especially in this day and age. The offering of soft drinks, water, juice, milk, etc was impressive. I came for a salad, but was drawn to the pizzas, torn between the shrimp scampi and jalapeño & bacon. I ordered a small shrimp scampi pizza. My date decided on a small eggplant parm grinder. My pizza was amazing! The crust was fairly thin with nice, crunchy-outside-soft-inside edges that were perfectly golden brown. The cheese blend was ooey-gooey madness with just enough oil and garlic to make it decadent. The star of the pie, however, was the shrimp. They were fresh, plump and fairly abundant. It all worked very well together and something I'd definitely order again. The eggplant grinder was a decent portion, for a small, with a generous portion of fried eggplant stacked inside. He ordered it without cheese (gasp!), something I'll not even try to explain or defend. The bread was nicely toasted. Personally, I'd have requested more sauce. But it wasn't my sandwich. He said it wasn't as good as his full-blooded Italian mother's eggplant. He then proceeded to devour the entire grinder, in short time. I've had 1 pizza from Garden Pizza and it was excellent. I grew up eating "Bar Pizza" and this was quite close. Overall, it is on the salty side, so if you are on a low sodium diet, think twice, but if you're not, go for it. If I lived in the area, this would be my go-to pizza shop. read more

I rate this a 4.0. My grilled chicken calzone was money. The marinara sauce was very good as well and warm. Ordered took 20 mins, picked up and payed fast, food was warm. They have great sandwiches and pizza. It used to be my go to in this area, but I've had 2 recent experiences where the service has been insanely rude. The first one was roughly a month ago. I order ahead on the 3rd party app (big mistake, don't do). It said it would be ready in 35 minutes. I was on my way to pickup and got the notification that the store marked the order as ready for pickup. I arrived and was told it was going to be a few more minutes. 20 minutes later and after constantly being ignored, it was finally ready. When I filled out the survey on the app asking if my order was ready on time and said no, they contacted me and come to find out the owner changed the expected pickup time in his end so it made me look like a liar. 2nd time was this past week, I was visiting family in the hospital down the street and called in an order since the app was su ha disaster the previous time. It was a Sunday night and actually fairly busy so a 40 minute wait wasn't a surprise. I got there and not only did they not have my order, they blamed me for "not actually placing the order but thinking I was because they lay the phone on the counter and people think they do it all the time" I'm sorry what?? I was appalled. They made my order fast but offered no apology and instated that it was my fault even though I had an order number. While I was standing there, the girl on the phone was incredibly nasty to people, (one guy she was arguing with and said I don't f*ing need this and hung up on him) so I knew she definitely messed up mine but refused to take accountability and the owner stood by her terrible attitude. Will never go back despite the food being good, that's no way to treat people read more

I have lived in Milford, MA my whole life. 18 years in Hopedale, MA, but same thing! They consistently have the same delicious food! I've never been sick one time because they tried to cut corners or serve old food! They are simply the best with every item they serve. Pizza, sandwiches, pasta, etc! I stopped by tonight at 9:40pm and the grill was closed. I asked for a steak and cheese and she accommodated me and said, "do you mind if I make this pan fried?" "Of course not", I said! Again, fabulous and always accommodating. Again, I have lived here for 55 years and have at least 35 yrs experience with them and it's always wonderful. ***** So, that being said....they should be a five star without debate! I've ordered great food from here but I'm giving it this score because one night I ordered a sub and they told me it would be about 40 mins to be delivered so not a problem at all. An hour and ten mins go by and I call them and they tell me the driver was already at my home. Now, my door is in my kitchen where I keep my blinds open and I was waiting downstairs the entire time. I would've saw headlights, heard a knock, heard a bell but NOTHING. The guy on the phone insists that I cancel and kept pressing me to cancel and refund me. I'm like "well I've waited an hour and almost half of another hour so now it's too late for me to cook something on my own or wait for a meat to thaw so I want my sub. He gets off the phone and as I think about it, I'm just wondering if they forgot and if so just say that instead of lying about it. After about 15 more mins I called to tell them forget it, I'll eat AIR for dinner and they tell me that he's on his way now. It was such a long tedious and drawn out irrelevant experience that I won't go back because there was no apology when he dropped the food off, no accountability on the phone just very dismissive. I only need to be handled like that once to know, I don't need to go there anymore and it sucks because the food is good. read more

When we come to town to visit we usually order pizza. Nothing is like New York pizza, and we know that. But, this 'Garden Pizza' is good and they are accommodating. It's fresh. They always are busy, busy, when we've been there... the quality is always consistent. Good. Recently, we thought, because we were with friends, that we'd try take out from another local place that had pizza... it was truly bad. Like, for us, uneatable. Everyone took a piece and looked at each other thinking... how bad is this. We should have ordered from 'Garden Pizza' and next time we will. We like their Greek Salad, and even their buffalo chicken pizza. They are generous in their servings, and we like their French fries. If you want it a certain way - just ask. Highly recommend. Probably the most over rated place in this town. I've ordered from them a million times. It's all about volume to them. Why you ask? How can you make this claim? Well, simple order Greek salad with chicken. The chicken is always over cooked - extra brown in color - every time! Order your food from pizza palace. They have spinach and mixed greens in their Greek salad. Garden does iceberg lettuce = 0 nutrition = max profits for them. This place has gone down hill forever the past few years and it really sucks. My past 3 orders have have sucked food tasted of old fryer oil and pizzas have been over cooked. I'm done ordering from here now because my last experience a few nights ago was I tried to order some chicken fingers and French fries after a late night at work, I got out at 930pm and called them at 935pm the person who answered said that they were closed! So why is your closing hours 10pm I get it I worked in restaurants it sucks getting late night orders but it's your job comes with the territory. I don't know if it's management not caring about the product they're putting out. If it's the workers not putting any care in to their food. But it is truly inedible to order food from this dump and actually scarf it down. After 5 years of ordering from here- Very disappointed. Their small pizza used to be a decent size but is now the same size I could've gotten a frozen Red Barron pizza for, but $5 less( no bigger than a large bagel). My husband ordered extra cheese on his steak bomb and all the cheese was all over the wrapper, none inside the actual sandwich. His steak was over cooked and the sandwich was very bland. I am very disappointed. We recently started ordering for delivery. Often the order is wrong... like a small cheese pizza with sausage and extra cheese. was delivered  with pineapple and ham no extra cheese or sausage... something my husband hates. but after having people in the restaurant business we did nothing and did not call and complain. Today I ordered a "chicken" Caesar salad with extra cheese..... I got a Caesar salad. I called and as soon as I said I ordered a chicken Caesar salad I was told I did not I was wrong.  My question was what I paid does not make sense. The numbers I was provided  still did not add up. What concerns me is this the first time in over a decade of going there we have complained about an order and I was immediately told I was wrong. How did someone remember my order as soon as I said chicken Caesar on a busy Friday night?  Mistakes are made but how it is handled dictates good or bad customer service. This was one of the worst examples of customer service and was out of line. Having grown up in a family owned business we always knew if we did not know about a problem we could not correct it. It is clear I will need to correct this on my end and STOP buying food from Garden Pizza. I sent an email but I do not expect I will hear anything so I did a review here. read more
