Hours on Google
Isaac R.

Their hours are not accurate. Google says they're open until 8pm. I show up and their sign says they close at 2pm. I can't imagine it's difficult to update business hours on Google. Anyway, I wasted my time, I hope you don't.

4 stars for Brightwok Kitchen - this is Asian fusion food restaraunt where you can make your own bowls/salads, It's a healthier kind of lunch spot, I did the very spicy spice level and it really wasn't that hot to be honest. They have a variety of vegetables and proteins - it is on the pricier side, but not that surprising for downtown. The bowls are a good portion size and are pretty tasty. Overall, it's like a BiBiBop and I'd recommend if you're looking for something in that realm of food.

Earth, curry, and fire

After all of the great reviews, I finally decided to try brightwok kitchen. This is a chipotle type of restaurant where the fresh ingredients are chosen, and then made to order on the grill top. I ordered the earth, curry and fire and added chicken. I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately it wasn't my cup of tea. My dish had a bit too many carrots and not enough chicken or tofu.

Earth, Curry and Fire

The earth, curry, and fire with steak came out great. It was delicious and I got 2 sweet potato fritters with it. The flavors worked really well together. I could probably eat 20 sweet potato fritters. The girl working today was very helpful with my buddies getting them samples of the different sauces to try. Everyone enjoyed our food. It was a bit cold and we had the dining area to ourselves. It was clean and neat. The kitchen area is kept very clean as well! She had the stove pulled out and I took a picture. That's always a good feeling when you see the restaurant doesn't neglect cleaning.

I love places that are "make your own" like this concept but I didn't really enjoy Brightwork. The food took awhile and once it came out it all kind of tasted the same.

Looks good and fresh. Just ate but wanted to check it out for next time. Based on what I saw ir will be delicious.

Woke up restaurant

Amazing! I was blown away by the umami mushroom bowl with steak. Full of flavor and the steak was so tender, it pairs with the umami flavor nicely. Love that this places emphasizes healthy alternatives.

Brightwok kitchen is easily one of my favorite places to grab lunch in the city! I've tried multiple sauces over the past few visits and everything has been so tasty and fast:) my favorite one is probably the Thai basil but tbh you can't go wrong with any of them! The staff are all very kind and knowledgeable and the restaurant is very well maintained! I can't wait to come again soon

My go-to takeout is Earth, Curry & Fire w/ Tofu. It has the right balance of spiciness and good protein-veggie-rice ratio. You can customize it (e.g. as-is or steamed with less sauce). The staff is always welcoming and the place is cute! I have never eaten it but groups frequent this place. Many large tables for work lunch groups!

The brussel sprouts were great, tangy, and I really liked the shallot crisps. I expected a little more from the Kamayan Feast, which though the adobo pork belly and the lumpia provided a solid flavor profile, I feel like the Kamayan Feast provided more in terms of quantity than quality. Overall I would maybe go again once I'm back in Chicago.

So flavorful and delicious! We also ordered the oxtail potstickers and lemongrass beef lollipops, and both were excellent. Honestly, I could have eaten 10 more of each. For our mains, we ordered the pork belly sinigang and chap chae. The pork belly was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the chap chae tasted really fresh with all the vegetables. I also loved that the tofu was on the firmer side. We also tried the Sake to Me sushi roll. It was good, but compared to everything else we ordered, it wasn't anything particularly memorable. For dessert, we ordered the ginger carrot cake, and the restaurant was kind enough to give us a complimentary dessert, which was such a nice touch! The complimentary dessert was an ube-style dessert, and it was fantastic. Honestly, both desserts were delicious. DRINKS: I ordered the Lychee Simoy cocktail, which was really good. We also shared the espresso martini flight, which came with three flavors: traditional, ube, and chocolate chili. Surprisingly, the chocolate chili was my favorite, while the ube was my least favorite. That said, I enjoyed all three and thought the flight was a fun way to try different flavors. SERVICE: Our waiter was great! He was attentive and gave us great recommendations. It was also so kind of him to give us a complimentary dessert. Overall, I had another great experience at Sunda and will definitely be back! I really enjoy how their food feels unique and creative while still maintaining those familiar Asian flavors.

We ordered like the PERFECT amount of food and best variety. Roast duck: I honestly don't know if I've ever had duck before, but I'm a duck believer now. The skin on theirs was the perfect crispy shatter texture and the duck was sooooo juicy! I don't know why I was always so worried about it being gamey. They give you fluffy steamed bao buns, a sauce, and scallions on the side as well as duck fried rice! Turnip cake: Obviously a must any time I come to dim sum. I've never seen turnip in any other form than this. Japanese salt & pepper tofu: My FAVORITE dish ever. Any fried salt & pepper tofu always makes me happy. They use a creamy egg-like tofu and the outside is lightly crispy with amazing aromatics stir fried in. Steamed white rice on the side is perfect with this. Loved everything else my dinner buds picked and we were super full by the end! Service was good and food came out fast and scorching hot! ***Parking in the area is treacherous (not the restaurants fault, but reconsider driving if possible bc cell signal can be zero to none around the garages if you get lucky) ***Their website allows you to request a reservation as long as it's 3 hours before your desired time. The good stuff is the soy sauce noodles, shumai, congee, shrimp rice rolls. The bad are the hargow and the shrimp and chives dumplings. This place does not appear to grasp the texture of these two dishes. The wrappers keep coming off for these. Lastly, the service and communication is bad here. On my last day I wanted to get some to go food here. It took more than 50 minutes from order via phone to gettin the food. After waiting more than half an hour at restaurant I decided to ask them why it's taking so long and they said because of some baked egg tarts they didn't make yet. I asked how much longer it would take and they refused to tell me. Almost missed my flight because of this. Every time I came up to ask, they tell me a new item they are waiting for. I even asked if I can swap out for something they already have but no response and no timing update. I wish management would step in and at least offer some solution so I can be on my way. Hopefully they'll fix this in the future.

For starters, we tried the Deep-Fried Pork Belly. It had a crunchy exterior with a dusting of chili powder, while the meat was incredibly tender. It came with a sweet chili dipping sauce that balanced the heat of the chili powder perfectly. I don't have much tolerance for spicy food, but I kept going back for "just one more bite." It was that addictive! For the main course, we tried the Mongolian Beef paired with Egg Fried Rice. The beef was so tender it practically melted in your mouth, and the vegetables had a nice bite to them--the perfect combination. The egg fried rice had just the right amount of garlic and egg, and it paired beautifully with the beef. I can't forget to mention the service. Rooftop dinner!! Sushi & lychee martini for the win :)…read more So this is my first time at Miru- Definitely make a reservation! This is at the Saint Regis hotel. I would definitely recommend the crispy rice. The Hamachi roll and the spicy tuna roll. The shrimp fried rice was not as tasty as I would hoped, but they have big shrimps in there, which I loved. The shrimp temporary I could've lived without it. It's just fried shrimp very flaky the sauce it comes with is actually really delicious. We kept it for the remainder of the meal. Get the lychee martini it is divine and super smooth, not like a kick in your face! The ambience here is upscale of course you must dress to impress. They have window seating since the weather wasn't permitting for us to sit on the rooftop. Our waiter was really sweet. He was kind of busy so he was forgetful a little bit but super sweet. And we celebrated my birthday there so he got me a little birthday treat for free. I would come here again for the sushi and lychee martini!
