Tried FARe for lunch and wasn't sure what to order, so I went with the smoky chicken plate. Overall, it was very healthy and still had decent flavor. The chicken and sweet potatoes were definitely the highlight. The mac and cheese was okay, not bad just nothing special. I'd probably give them another try to explore more of the menu.

I was pleasantly surprised by FARE. It's surprisingly filling and really satisfying. The portion sizes are great, and everything I've tried has been consistently flavorful. The mac and cheese and the sweet potatoes are standouts and a must for me every time. The salmon size the one time I got it could be a little bigger, but it was still good. but it was still good. Definitely a solid go-to when you want something filling and satisfying.

What is not pictured is my missing pesto sauce, cornbread muffin, and expensive Mac and cheese.

Honestly not the greatest first experience. I ordered create your own bowl with spinach and romaine as the base, elote and sweet and sour cucumbers as my sides, tofu as my protein, and added an additional side of green goddess slaw to the bowl. I chose pesto as my sauce and added an additional spicy red pepper sauce. Separately, I also ordered Mac and cheese and a side of guacamole. So what I got did not entail my original requested sauce(pestoi) or the Mac and cheese, which kind of was a big deal as I wanted to get the protein from the cheese. Big fail right there. It got worse as I saw the portions: the $4 tofu was so small, about 3 by 2 inches and the guacamole was in a tiny 2 ounce cup for over $3! The taste of the food was enh. The miso tofu tasted nothing like miso, the green goddess slaw did not taste like it had any green goddess dressing, and the sweet and sour cucumbers had no taste at all.I attempted to season it with the only sauce I had obtained, my secondary pick, and even then it wasn't the greatest. Perhaps if I had my ordered pesto it would have helped? I cannot say anything about the Mac and Cheese or pesto, BECAUSE I DID NOT RECEIVE THEM! I had high hopes, but left disappointed and still hungry.

Really wanted to love this place! Went here for a work lunch with coworkers and did not have the best experience. The wrong meat was placed onto my bowl and then taken off and then put back in the bin for other people instead of being tossed out after I said something. The salmon in my bowl also had multiple bones in it which are shown in the photo. The ingredients were good and fresh, but don't think I'll be going back since it was rather small and over $20 for the bowl & experience.

Amazing 11/10 spot for a healthy fast-casual lunch. I got the smoky chicken bowl and it did not disappoint. The ingredients are so fresh and perfectly prepared. The portion sizes are big enough for 2 meals too! Pro tip: if you download their app, you get $5 off your first order. I will definitely be back to try more bowls and their breakfast items!

A win for the corporate girlies. It's one of those spots where you can grab something nourishing without it feeling heavy or boring. I went for a customized bowl to get the nutrients that I need for a busy day ahead. The vibe inside is calm with wooden tones.

Great little spot to pick to coffee and breakfast. The egg sandwich with caramelized onions is delicious. Service is super fast.

My third or fourth time here. I usually head over when I'm getting off my train. Women owned, small business coffee shop. I try to avoid the mermaid if I can and support local. Great breakfast menu, canned drinks, and coffee/teas. The avocado toast is amazing, and they have a scrambled egg bowl that I have yet to try. Cookies are phenomenal, and they sell artisan goods as well.

NEED TO WORK ON QUALITY CONTROL. I love the food from Fare. Great flavor, and so many unique options. However, every time I order the build your own plate, I do not receive the corn muffin that is advertised to come with the meal. Some locations do include the muffin while others don't. If I am paying $20 for one meal, I should receive every part of the meal. Further, sometimes the sauce with the plate is on the side (as it should be) and sometimes it has been placed on the food. This is an issue with the plate specifically because I am not wanting the sauce on some of my sides (for example, I do not want ranch in my mac and cheese or cinnamon squash). Lastly, I tried the cinnamon squash with walnuts today and there are no walnuts in the mix. I am deeply disappointed with the quality control and the inconsistency will prevent me from returning in the future.

Could NOT have asked for a better lunch! WOW oh wow! Sure the photos I am sharing with this review look like dog vomit, but don't you dare judge a book by its cover because this food was PHENOMENAL! Clean, healthy and FLAVORFUL!!! It was just perfect and I am honestly SAD I don't have a location near where I live in Georgia! What I love aside from the taste (I'll dream about this place, I swear) is... That they are truly invested in using HEALTHFUL ingredients... No seed oils in sight! Thank you FARE FOOD for feeding me so well!

I was in downtown Chicago and wanted a bite to eat and a place to sit down and work on my laptop. Fare fit the bill. Atmosphere-5 stars; Very trendy design aesthetic with coffee shop vibes and windows that make for great people watching among the hustle and bustle of Chicago. Great for meeting up with colleagues for an afternoon coffee or smoothie. Service- 5 stars; The staff were friendly and helpful with navigating the menu. They didn't bother me while I ate and camped out in the dining room with my laptop. Food quality- 4.5 stars; They have many healthful options and plant-based and dietary restriction-friendly options. I'm more of a foodie than a health nut, but I do appreciate what Fare has going on with their menu. The avocado toast was beautiful and the smoothie made me feel like I was doing something good for my health. As far as taste, the beet smoothie was unique. I probably wouldn't order it again but that's just because it isn't my thing. Value- 2.5 stars; You get what you pay for and at Fare, you pay for the location, wholesome ingredients, and modern space. It's not cheap but it seemed fair for downtown Chicago. Overall- I had a positive experience at Fare. I wouldn't say "OMG I need to go back", but I would come here if I was in the area.

Truly - eating at PLANTA is an experience. We weren't sure how busy it would be on a Saturday evening so made a reservation, which turned out to be the right move. We were seated promptly and our server thoughtfully offered descriptions and suggestions that guided us to the following assortment of mind-blowing items: -Bang Bang Broccoli: if you order nothing else, get this. Perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned, with just the right amount of crispiness and a magical peanut chili sauce. -Firecracker maki roll: filled with sweet potato and avocado, topped with a monstrous pile of potato straws, unagi, and glorious sauce. -Udon noodles with truffle mushroom cream: the description is deceptively understated. This dish is magic - thick chewy noodles generously coated in an unbelievably creamy sauce and SO MANY mushrooms. Pricing is fine - more than I'd like to pay for a routine weeknight dinner, but justified by the flavors and the experience of elevated plant-based cuisine. It's a good (but also terrible) thing that I live far away, otherwise all my time and money would likely be spent at PLANTA.

We actually got the rec for Penelope's from a doorman lol. I am so glad we came here. Everything was DELICIOUS. Honestly, maybe some of the best tacos I've ever had. We ordered the quesadilla grande (which was good, but I think there's only so much you can do with vegan cheese), a taco platter, and 3 tacos. We tried to order one of each taco to try everything. The tacos were amazing -- we loved all of them. My favorites were the mushroom chimichurri and the soyrizo. They also have a spicy salsa that is AMAZING, but is super spicy. Service was good - the waitress we had was very attentive. We went on the earlier side for dinner so it was quiet, but did start picking up by the time we left. Definitely recommend trying the red salsa to top off the tacos and the sangria to pair with your meal. As far as the ambiance goes, the music was fun , the windows were open, and the vibes were summery and fun. Decor could be slightly more up to date but it didn't take away from the experience. The entirely plant based menu is varied, whimsical, and intentional, and the staff are just glorious. Once seated our server inquired whether we had had the pleasure of dining at Alice & Friends' before, and upon discovering it was our first visit delightedly offered suggestions for our optimal enjoyment. It tastes like "regular" ramen, but is 100% vegan. There was a strip of stuff (it was seitan) that looked like the pork belly that typically comes in Tonkatsu ramen. How is this not meat?! It was SO GOOD and had the texture of meat. But it wasn't meat. The broth is silky smoove, savory and . . . my gawd, I drank every single drop. The noodles and veg things that typically come in ramen were there, and just delicious. Writing this review, I am now craving this ramen. I took home an additional order of this ramen for my BF and he became obsessed as well! We had a couple other appetizers that were fantastic too! Some breaded mushroom app that was super tasty. I'm typically not a breaded food fan, but this was light and crispy and really tasty. The interior is spare, uncluttered, full of light and spotlessly clean. The staff is so helpful, friendly, and earnest with answering any questions. No booze, it's BYOB, but they have a lot of Kombuchas to try! A neighborhood gem that I will now keep in rotation when dining out.

After over 40 days without fried food, I was especially excited for the tots and they did not disappoint. Overall, the food was good and solid across the board. Nothing that completely blew me away, but definitely satisfying. If you're vegan or vegetarian and craving a classic burger experience, this is a great option. The smoothie was good as well, though I personally prefer fruit-forward smoothies with lighter juices, so the almond milk base wasn't quite my favorite, but it still complemented the meal nicely. Overall, if you're looking for a casual sit-down spot with a cute atmosphere and a solid Impossible burger at a reasonable price, Elephant + Vine is a great choice. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Pricing - quite reasonable for a niche vegan taqueria. Portion sizes - appropriate. Flavors - spot on. I found out about the (potential) joys of elote after becoming plant based, and as such had not been able to try it until my visit to Penelope's. The corn itself is sweet and bursts delightfully between the teeth. The combination of mayo, cheese, tajin, and cilantro elevate the dish that much more. The pineapple margarita was also a highlight -- it was fresh, well-made, and honestly good enough that I'd come back just for the drinks. The inside is super cute and colorful, and it's in a great location. Definitely a fun spot to check out, whether you're vegan or just looking to try something different!
