I love this place, it's great for healthy options for lunch and it tastes really good. I will say the last 2 times I've gone there they've given me significantly less food and for $20 per bowl it just hard price to swallow. They barely put any grains in my bowl, only 2 sweet potatoes wedges, a little kale slaw then 3 small turkey meatballs was fine but still expensive. It barely filled up half the container. Compare to chipotle it's half the amount of food for $5 more. Service standard for a place like this and ambience is great for a quick lunch spot. I'll give 4 stars because the food and the options are great and they make changes seasonally which I love. Just the amount and the price is hard. read more

Honestly not the greatest first experience. I ordered create your own bowl with spinach and romaine as the base, elote and sweet and sour cucumbers as my sides, tofu as my protein, and added an additional side of green goddess slaw to the bowl. I chose pesto as my sauce and added an additional spicy red pepper sauce. Separately, I also ordered Mac and cheese and a side of guacamole. So what I got did not entail my original requested sauce(pestoi) or the Mac and cheese, which kind of was a big deal as I wanted to get the protein from the cheese. Big fail right there. It got worse as I saw the portions: the $4 tofu was so small, about 3 by 2 inches and the guacamole was in a tiny 2 ounce cup for over $3! The taste of the food was enh. The miso tofu tasted nothing like miso, the green goddess slaw did not taste like it had any green goddess dressing, and the sweet and sour cucumbers had no taste at all.I attempted to season it with the only sauce I had obtained, my secondary pick, and even then it wasn't the greatest. Perhaps if I had my ordered pesto it would have helped? I cannot say anything about the Mac and Cheese or pesto, BECAUSE I DID NOT RECEIVE THEM! Pretty good for lunch, not great for breakfast. I get lunch from here maybe on average once a month when I'm at work, usually a bowl of some sort and the turkey meatballs are my favorite. Their gluten free cookies are AMAZING. However for breakfast: I decided to try breakfast last week and got the egg bowl- I'm almost positive they used POWDERED eggs. I took a bite and I was like "hmm... why am I suddenly transported to free hotel breakfast buffet?" It was extremely obvious. They call it "soft scrambled" on the website but it still has that rubbery reconstituted eggs taste... just wetter. Really weird corner to cut. I first discovered Faire when they catered one of my lunch-and-learn events in the loop, and shortly after, they opened a storefront in the Loop, which felt like a win seeing is that is where I spend 70% of my time. Really wanted to love this place! Went here for a work lunch with coworkers and did not have the best experience. The wrong meat was placed onto my bowl and then taken off and then put back in the bin for other people instead of being tossed out after I said something. The salmon in my bowl also had multiple bones in it which are shown in the photo. Very limited seating inside and no water cups or anything, so you're obviously being pushed back to your desk. Luckily there wasn't a line. NEED TO WORK ON QUALITY CONTROL. I love the food from Fare. Great flavor, and so many unique options. However, every time I order the build your own plate, I do not receive the corn muffin that is advertised to come with the meal. Some locations do include the muffin while others don't. If I am paying $20 for one meal, I should receive every part of the meal. Further, sometimes the sauce with the plate is on the side (as it should be) and sometimes it has been placed on the food. This is an issue with the plate specifically because I am not wanting the sauce on some of my sides (for example, I do not want ranch in my mac and cheese or cinnamon squash). Lastly, I tried the cinnamon squash with walnuts today and there are no walnuts in the mix. I am deeply disappointed with the quality control and the inconsistency will prevent me from returning in the future. read more

I was in downtown Chicago and wanted a bite to eat and a place to sit down and work on my laptop. Fare fit the bill. Atmosphere-5 stars; Very trendy design aesthetic with coffee shop vibes and windows that make for great people watching among the hustle and bustle of Chicago. Great for meeting up with colleagues for an afternoon coffee or smoothie. Service- 5 stars; The staff were friendly and helpful with navigating the menu. They didn't bother me while I ate and camped out in the dining room with my laptop. Food quality- 4.5 stars; They have many healthful options and plant-based and dietary restriction-friendly options. I'm more of a foodie than a health nut, but I do appreciate what Fare has going on with their menu. The avocado toast was beautiful and the smoothie made me feel like I was doing something good for my health. As far as taste, the beet smoothie was unique. I probably wouldn't order it again but that's just because it isn't my thing. Value- 2.5 stars; You get what you pay for and at Fare, you pay for the location, wholesome ingredients, and modern space. It's not cheap but it seemed fair for downtown Chicago. This place has gone downhill. When the two founders were running it, it was great. They've since expanded to too many locations it seems, as the quality is not there. Not only has the quality gone downhill, the prices have been jacked up and the portions smaller. They also frequently forget items you order, and you have to jump through hoops for a refund. Not to mention, their app will automatically charge a 20% tip and it's hidden so you probably won't notice. Skip the Mac n cheese unless you like separated sauce, amounting to Mac n Oil. read more

Great place for those with Celiac. Not only is their menu super accommodating, but their staff is very knowledgeable. They knew to change gloves and one worker even commented on how herniated has celiac. I ordered soup, a broccoli side salad and a brownie for lunch. My online order was 20 minutes late. The soups flavor was good, but the sesame seeds added an interesting texture that I didn't love. The brownie was great! unfortunately the quality of the broccoli side salad was not good. It was supposed to have a tahini dressing, with grapes and almonds. There was zero dressing and zero almonds. The broccoli was mainly just stalks and i had one grape sliced in two. The reason I am still giving Fare 4 stars is because management was fast to follow up and refund me.
