Tried FARe for lunch and wasn't sure what to order, so I went with the smoky chicken plate. Overall, it was very healthy and still had decent flavor. The chicken and sweet potatoes were definitely the highlight. The mac and cheese was okay, not bad just nothing special. I'd probably give them another try to explore more of the menu.

I was pleasantly surprised by FARE. It's surprisingly filling and really satisfying. The portion sizes are great, and everything I've tried has been consistently flavorful. The mac and cheese and the sweet potatoes are standouts and a must for me every time. The salmon size the one time I got it could be a little bigger, but it was still good. but it was still good. Definitely a solid go-to when you want something filling and satisfying.

    Make Craft Your Own Bowl

Really wanted to love this place! Went here for a work lunch with coworkers and did not have the best experience. The wrong meat was placed onto my bowl and then taken off and then put back in the bin for other people instead of being tossed out after I said something. The salmon in my bowl also had multiple bones in it which are shown in the photo. The ingredients were good and fresh, but don't think I'll be going back since it was rather small and over $20 for the bowl & experience.

What is not pictured is my missing pesto sauce, cornbread muffin, and expensive Mac and cheese.

Honestly not the greatest first experience. I ordered create your own bowl with spinach and romaine as the base, elote and sweet and sour cucumbers as my sides, tofu as my protein, and added an additional side of green goddess slaw to the bowl. I chose pesto as my sauce and added an additional spicy red pepper sauce. Separately, I also ordered Mac and cheese and a side of guacamole. So what I got did not entail my original requested sauce(pestoi) or the Mac and cheese, which kind of was a big deal as I wanted to get the protein from the cheese. Big fail right there. It got worse as I saw the portions: the $4 tofu was so small, about 3 by 2 inches and the guacamole was in a tiny 2 ounce cup for over $3! The taste of the food was enh. The miso tofu tasted nothing like miso, the green goddess slaw did not taste like it had any green goddess dressing, and the sweet and sour cucumbers had no taste at all.I attempted to season it with the only sauce I had obtained, my secondary pick, and even then it wasn't the greatest. Perhaps if I had my ordered pesto it would have helped? I cannot say anything about the Mac and Cheese or pesto, BECAUSE I DID NOT RECEIVE THEM! I had high hopes, but left disappointed and still hungry.

A win for the corporate girlies. It's one of those spots where you can grab something nourishing without it feeling heavy or boring. I went for a customized bowl to get the nutrients that I need for a busy day ahead. The vibe inside is calm with wooden tones.

Amazing 11/10 spot for a healthy fast-casual lunch. I got the smoky chicken bowl and it did not disappoint. The ingredients are so fresh and perfectly prepared. The portion sizes are big enough for 2 meals too! Pro tip: if you download their app, you get $5 off your first order. I will definitely be back to try more bowls and their breakfast items!

Great little spot to pick to coffee and breakfast. The egg sandwich with caramelized onions is delicious. Service is super fast.

NEED TO WORK ON QUALITY CONTROL. I love the food from Fare. Great flavor, and so many unique options. However, every time I order the build your own plate, I do not receive the corn muffin that is advertised to come with the meal. Some locations do include the muffin while others don't. If I am paying $20 for one meal, I should receive every part of the meal. Further, sometimes the sauce with the plate is on the side (as it should be) and sometimes it has been placed on the food. This is an issue with the plate specifically because I am not wanting the sauce on some of my sides (for example, I do not want ranch in my mac and cheese or cinnamon squash). Lastly, I tried the cinnamon squash with walnuts today and there are no walnuts in the mix. I am deeply disappointed with the quality control and the inconsistency will prevent me from returning in the future.

My third or fourth time here. I usually head over when I'm getting off my train. Women owned, small business coffee shop. I try to avoid the mermaid if I can and support local. Great breakfast menu, canned drinks, and coffee/teas. The avocado toast is amazing, and they have a scrambled egg bowl that I have yet to try. Cookies are phenomenal, and they sell artisan goods as well.

Could NOT have asked for a better lunch! WOW oh wow! Sure the photos I am sharing with this review look like dog vomit, but don't you dare judge a book by its cover because this food was PHENOMENAL! Clean, healthy and FLAVORFUL!!! It was just perfect and I am honestly SAD I don't have a location near where I live in Georgia! What I love aside from the taste (I'll dream about this place, I swear) is... That they are truly invested in using HEALTHFUL ingredients... No seed oils in sight! Thank you FARE FOOD for feeding me so well!

Lemony Kale base with Cucumbers, Chickpeas, Chicken, and tahini & pesto. Yum!

Unfortunately Machine was not open, which is downstairs from this place, so we went here. Usually there is a bouncer outside, covering both places, but no one was at the door so me and The Queen walked upstairs. The bouncer was upstairs and saw us come in, so he asked for ID. He explained that everyone gets card before they come in, which is not a issue for me. The overall vibe, for me, was definitely a frat hangout vibe. There are arcade games all over the place and cutesy names for beers and cocktails, like the Froot Loops (vodka, coriander honey, oat milk, shochu, saline, milk carton, and froot loops). Man I do not do cocktails and this is the reason why. There is too much going on in that glass for me to deal with. Prices for cocktails range from $14-$15. BFF #1 got a vodka soda for $13, but looking at the size of the glass, it was on the small side. BFF #1 said it was on the weak side. I was happy to hear that there was prosecco, so I got that. The Doctor showed up and got a beer. The selection of beers was limited from what I could see on the wall, maybe there was a list someone else behind the bar. The bartender was a really sweet, she was all smiles and kept calling me baby, which was so funny to me. I tipped her well because she was great on them pours of prosecco. We did not do food as we were heading to Club Lago for dinner and I didn't realize that they had food until I checked into Yelp and saw the online menu. The Queen actually went to a DJ set here with Roosevelt, I believe, and said it was a good event. Not a place I would normally hang out in, but I can see the appeal for folks in their 20s as I would definitely say outside of The Queen, the three of us were the oldest folks in there. Lots of people taking Instagram photos and posing or making short videos with those ring lights. I imagine it can get super loud when it is busy, but that is a vibe for some folks. I would say if that is your thing, this is the place for you.

They've upped their happy hour game by including a rotating global cocktail with previous menu drinks and a daily kitchen special. This time, I ordered the oldest old fashioned and the Oaxaca old fashioned to drink. I thought the first was the best old fashioned I had ever had, but the second was even better! I loved the subtle yet not overpowering smokiness of the mezcal in the Oaxaca. Neither were too sweet and you could really taste the high quality bourbon. We ordered the Korean fried chicken and coconut shrimp to eat from the happy hour menu. The shrimp was super crispy with a delicious ginger-orange compote and rice vinegar pickled onions. Highly recommend! I did think the chicken was a bit tough, but the flavor was good. Another great experience of many to come! This year I was so excited to bring my family and Ema was the only restaurant in Chicago I couldn't wait for them to try. I booked it as our final meal in Chicago and lay awake at 4am being so disappointed in my choice. Our server's greeting was monotone and emotionless, which I realize now, would be foreshadowing the meal to come. Ordered the following 1) Smoky eggplant- arrived appearing as an unappetizing curdled purple grey mush. This was the worst tasting baba ghanouj I have ever eaten. It was acidic and had the texture of cottage cheese. The only redeeming thing about this appetizer was the warm naan. 2) house made stratciatella with side of green falafels- The stratciatella was bland and stringy. I would not order this dish expecting the creamy interior of typical burrata. However, if you like string cheese mixed with heavy cream- you may enjoy this dish. The tomatoes and basil were good. 3) chicken kefta- kefta was bland, rice even blander . 4) short rib with polenta- bland and the meat and polenta had the same texture, which seems impossible but somehow the plating was over complicated by the addition of mushy dates and grapes. 5) buttered noodles- my 8 year old ordered this. It was decent with a good amount of Parmesan and cooked perfectly al dente. By the end of the meal, I was so shocked by how terrible the food was I didn't even want to order the sticky date cake that was my main purpose for returning to this restaurant.
