After all of the great reviews, I finally decided to try brightwok kitchen. This is a chipotle type of restaurant where the fresh ingredients are chosen, and then made to order on the grill top. I ordered the earth, curry and fire and added chicken. I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately it wasn't my cup of tea. My dish had a bit too many carrots and not enough chicken or tofu.

The earth, curry, and fire with steak came out great. It was delicious and I got 2 sweet potato fritters with it. The flavors worked really well together. I could probably eat 20 sweet potato fritters. The girl working today was very helpful with my buddies getting them samples of the different sauces to try. Everyone enjoyed our food. It was a bit cold and we had the dining area to ourselves. It was clean and neat. The kitchen area is kept very clean as well! She had the stove pulled out and I took a picture. That's always a good feeling when you see the restaurant doesn't neglect cleaning.

I love places that are "make your own" like this concept but I didn't really enjoy Brightwork. The food took awhile and once it came out it all kind of tasted the same.

Amazing! I was blown away by the umami mushroom bowl with steak. Full of flavor and the steak was so tender, it pairs with the umami flavor nicely. Love that this places emphasizes healthy alternatives.

Brightwok kitchen is easily one of my favorite places to grab lunch in the city! I've tried multiple sauces over the past few visits and everything has been so tasty and fast:) my favorite one is probably the Thai basil but tbh you can't go wrong with any of them! The staff are all very kind and knowledgeable and the restaurant is very well maintained! I can't wait to come again soon

My go-to takeout is Earth, Curry & Fire w/ Tofu. It has the right balance of spiciness and good protein-veggie-rice ratio. You can customize it (e.g. as-is or steamed with less sauce). The staff is always welcoming and the place is cute! I have never eaten it but groups frequent this place. Many large tables for work lunch groups!

Love their panang; and the ingredients are very fresh. I'll definitely come back on my next Chicago visit!

It's like a Korean Chipotle or Cava - you can choose between a bunch of premade bowls or make your own by choosing a base (rice, noodles, veggies, etc) + protein (classic Korean proteins bulgogi beef, spicy pork, tofu, etc) and an assortment of veggies, toppings, and tasty sauces. I got the Seoul Train - glass noodles, bulgogi beef, creamy sriracha sauce, corn, cucumbers, kale slaw, kimchi, scallions, cilantro, crispy garlic, and sesame seeds. The noodles were tasty by themselves and the beef was flavorful, and I think it was a pretty reasonable portion compared to some places like chipotle which have really started skimping. The sauce was quite creamy and it looks like a bunch of the sauces tend to be on the sweeter or creamier side, but they still go well with the savory meat and carbs. I think the bowl started at $14-15 so with tax and a small tip it's a few more dollars, pretty on par with prices for other fast casual places these days, but it's nice to have a Korean option to spice things up!

Because it was marathon weekend, there were a bunch of participants meeting in the dining area. While looking at the menu, a seasonal option caught my attention because the teenage version of me who loves 90s alternative rock loved the name of a certain smoothie: Smashing Pumpkin. https://yelp.to/ak0wlKoakD This visit was during October so it made perfect sense to offer a fall-flavored smoothie. It was quite light in flavor and not too sweet. The default protein powder is whey so we substituted it for plant-based vanilla protein. They also offer a plant-based chocolate protein as well. Non-dairy milk options include oat milk and almond milk. Since the indoor dining area was occupied my marathon runners, we sat at the tables outside just in front of the shop. Using the app to order delivery was super simple, which made the whole process a breeze. I decided to get the bacon, egg, and cheese burrito, which had 50 grams of protein while being super low in calories. It was absolutely delicious! I also ordered an iced coffee, and it was just as good as what you'd get at Dunkin or Starbucks. What really stood out, though, was the price--my breakfast burrito was only $8, and the iced coffee was $2.50! For that quality, especially when staying within my macros, it's hard to beat. Protein Bar is definitely going into my regular rotation. It's a win when I can eat something tasty without compromising on my fitness goals!

Everything was very well seasoned and the flavors really popped out of each dish! The spicy sausage was very similar to other Chinese sausages but less sweet and added a serious heat. It was a great way to start the meal. The scallion pancakes were flakey and crispy and seemed to be homemade. The soup dumplings had an incredible amount of soup inside and the flavors were better than even Din Tai Fong! The skins were just thick enough to hold the soup in but thin enough to be enjoyable and not overwhelm the meat and soup inside. The dry chili chicken was amazingly spicy and flavorful! Be aware that if you have difficulty with spice that you might want to order a lower level of heat! it was too spicy for a couple of us! The Dan-Dan noodles were everybody's favorites, flavorful, with a little bit of earth and a decent amount of heat. The restaurant was cute and clean, very well lit as well. The service was quick and while not overly chatty, was efficient and friendly. We'll be back!
