SINGAPORE NOODLES

We stumbled into this place while walking the warm summer days in Chicago. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating that gives off a lively city vibe. Their bar bites were fantastic. Perfect place to sip and snack but also for dinner if you have a bigger appetite. Avocado beet tartare: rich avocado and roasted beet stack garnished with cilantro and pine nuts (perfect nutty note) and served with Taro chips that are made in house daily. This taro chip really made this dish. I wish they would sell them! Summer roll: vegan rolls with fresh papaya, pickled carrots, tofu, cilantro, and basil. Served with side of peanut sauce and nuoc Cham (omg I need this sauce for home). Highly recommend Singapore noodles: ramen noodle dish with chili curry. Cooked with bok choy, cabbage, lime, cilantro, and basil. This was just mediocre. Just a chili flavor dish but nothing special. Would prob try something different next time. Overall great location and good bar bites.

Awesome Vegan-Asian restaurant with very good mushroom-truffle cream sauce udon noodles. Excellent service (was able to get refills of iced tea after getting an Arnold Palmer), and interior atmosphere very cool. Highly recommended!

My friend and I went to PLANTA Queen for happy hour after 8 PM. Our waiter was new and learning, so there was quite bit of a wait to get the food. They also started cleaning up outside while we were still eating, which was quite disruptive. The edamame dumplings tasted very sour, and the portion of the sushi from the happy hour menu was small. Our favorite part was the carrot olive oil cake. I would say to skip the happy hour- the food on the regular menu is more worth your while.

We had reservation and were seated in a nice booth. It has a nice casual ambiance. The serving size in this vegan place is small and most of the food are meant to be shared. Some of the dishes were very good while some are just okay. You'd may be think there's meat but don't be fooled. All dishes here are vegan. A favorite was the kimchi bao. Very flavorful with different textures from the fried mushrooms and other fillings were very good. I also liked the firecracker roll which had different textures and flavors. The edamame dumplings and spicy tuna roll were also fine. The summer rolls are like Vietnamese spring rolls except that it's tofu instead of shrimp. The Singapore noodles are not bad but they could be more flavorful. For desserts, we were disappointed that they did not have mango sticky rice even if it's just 6 pm. The matcha cheesecake had berry compote and whipped cream on top. It was good. The sticky toffee pudding had coconut caramel and vanilla ice cream which went well together. Our server Alondra was very personable.

I loved every second of my time at PLANTA. I'm vegetarian so I was intrigued but I am absolutely mind blown by how great this food is. Everything tasted so fresh and perfectly done. I got great energy from my meal and really appreciated the entire experience. I'm from California so it's at the top of my list to visit the Los Angeles location. The world needs more of this.

The ambiance and service was good. The kids menu was nice and had variety. My daughter loved the avocado sushi rolls and ended up with two orders of it. We got the bang bang broccoli, 1000 layer crispy potatoes, Raman crunch noodles and a couple other items. I felt some dishes were really good and some was not as flavorful or something was off. It was good overall and worth trying for one or two times. It was nice knowing everything on the menu was 100% vegetarian as that made it comfortable knowing the broths and ingredients were plant based. We need more places like this

My recent experience was not the same as when I came in two years ago. While the service was quick and the appetizers were good, around a 4 out of 5, the drinks were a solid 5 out of 5. The mains, however, were disappointing and I would rate them around 2 out of 5. We tried the bang broccoli and 1000 layer potatoes, but the potatoes were underwhelming. The drinks, Spicy Not a Rita and Cosmic Colada, were refreshing and pretty good. One thing that was disappointing was the mains. They were under seasoned with barely any salt, and we had to use soy sauce and ask for extra seasoning to adjust the salt in the dish.

Planta is soooo amazing. I came here for my birthday & was nervous to bring my non vegetation friends but they love it too!!! It truly is somewhere you can bring anyone and they will love it too. Everything we got was amazing but my all time favorites are the summer rolls, crispy gyoza, and the torched and pressed roll. Great drinks too.

This place is a heaven for vegans and sushi lovers. The ambiance was so good and pretty. The food menu was so well crafted that even a meat eater could easily enjoy the food here without missing the actual meat. The service was super amazing, they were quick and so good to us. Everything was super tasty. My personal favourite is the Volcano Roll. Will definitely visit again. This place is quite popular and busy, definitely make a reservation in advance.

Everything about this place is amazing! The service and the food. The vibe was also so welcoming! I definitely recommend going

I came back to try the truffle udon and it was LIFE CHANGING. The sauce is sooo creamy and the flavor is insane. I would have appreciated even more truffle but I truly cannot complain it was already heavenly. Since I came twice in one month I also received a surprise reward in the app for a free maki roll, so I will inevitably be back again soon. Update: Came back and got the torched and pressed roll and the 1000 layer crispy potatoes. The torched and pressed was INCREDIBLE. Definitely a must if you like truffle, the truffle flavor was so intense and the miso glaze was very unique as well. My favorite out of the sushi options for sure. Crispy potatoes were also really really good, not sure what the caviar was made out of but I've never had anything like it before. My server Jasmine was really wonderful and definitely made my visit. There were some technical difficulties applying my free roll reward so she ended up just comping my roll for free and let me keep the reward to use another time. Hostess was really lovely as well. I came here 3 times in 4 days... should tell you all you need to know!

Welp, planta queen has done it again. Every time I try something new I think, how are they going to make the vegan version of this, good? But I never lack trust because I know everything on this menu is superb. I got the cosmic colada, made by amazing bartender Johnny. With coconut water, pineapple, and lemon, this tropical drink is fruity and sweet and I feel like I'm on a damn island. For my tastes it a little sweet but hey that's never a problem in my book. For to eat, I got the red dragon roll, made by chef Kelsey (the goat). Carrot salmon in a roll topped with crunchy pickled watermelon and masago. The perfect blend of crunchy and sweet, topped with a creamy (but remember folks, vegan!!) spicy mayo. And of course, I had again the pleasure of being seated in server Sarah's section. She is always such a joy, so helpful with information about the food and recommendations for plates, and of course, keeping my water filled. She knocked it out of the park!

The fries were perfect but I couldn't get with the steak and unfortunately, sent it back. I tried to do it medium but got the same result. I was hurt because everyone's pictures of this dish is what led me in here but they couldn't get it right! Maybe they were having an off night? From the food and ambiance to the consistently outstanding service, everything is truly top-tier. This visit was just as exceptional as every one before it. We shared the Sweet Corn Hummus, Spicy Whipped Feta, Brussels Sprouts, Crispy Wild Mushrooms, Crispy Potatoes, Grilled Chicken, and the Lamb & Beef Kefta. Every single dish was outstanding. I wish I had taken more photos, but we were too busy enjoying the food as it arrived at the table! For drinks, my sister loved the Strawberry Rose Paloma, and I enjoyed a glass of Kir-Yianni Sparkling Rosé, which paired beautifully with the meal. The warm, seasoned pita deserves its own recognition. It's soft, pillowy, and absolutely addictive. Honestly, it's hard not to fill up on the pita and spreads before the rest of the meal even arrives. Our server struck the perfect balance between friendly and attentive, without ever feeling intrusive. We usually make room for dessert, but we were completely stuffed this time. In the past, though, I've loved both the Warm Sticky Date Cake and the Frozen Greek Yogurt, and I'd recommend either without hesitation. I was secretly hoping for a tiny scoop of frozen yogurt as a birthday surprise, but my server didn't mention it and I didn't remind him of the celebration (and honestly, we were way too full anyway ). As a huge Top Chef fan, it's always special dining at Chef CJ Jacobson's restaurant. I had the opportunity to meet him during my very first visit to Ema, and he was incredibly gracious. His creativity and attention to flavor are evident in every dish. Ema continues to set the standard for what a great dining experience should be. It's the restaurant I recommend most often when people ask me where to eat in Chicago, and it remains my go-to place for special celebrations. I can't wait to come back again soon! #ImNotAFoodie #ImJustAGirlWhoLovesFood #YelpEliteSquad PS: the hotel next door no longer provides parking validation.

It was ultra-soft, with a minuscule dab of chocolate. The poached eggs were completely flavorless. They might have been old eggs six weeks away from the farm, I don't know, but all I could taste was the chalky whites. And by the way, poached eggs should always be served with a spoon without the customer having to ask. How do you eat poached eggs with a fork? I asked for my English muffin to be "burnt" (crispy.) They were soft and gummy, just like the croissant. And no jam or jelly was offered. The waiter was polite but inattentive. It's annoying to say, specifically, "I'll have two poached eggs with crispy bacon" and then have the waiter come back and say, "do you want sausage or bacon with that?" And like most restaurants these days, they've switched to that thick-cut bacon that can't be cooked crispy. The breakfast came with a very small side of potatoes, which tasted fine. And I had some green tea that was...okay, but not even remotely like the delicious green tea that most Japanese restaurants offer. I asked my waiter to clear away my plate when I was done, but he either didn't hear me or misunderstood, because he left the plate sitting there. Lastly, when people are eating breakfast, especially on a weekday, they usually have some place they need to get to, and don't want to linger. It took too long after I put my card down for the waiter to pick it up. Every one of these things is a minor complaint (except for the tasteless eggs.) But add them all up and it makes me think -- even though I'm in the area frequently -- "I'll never go back here for breakfast." Overall, a disappointing experience.

We never expected happy hour to be relevant for us, but our wonderful server pointed it out. Since none of us had tasted pisco before she brought us a pisco sample to try. Three of the four of us ordered pisco cocktails, and they were great! The chilcano is a pisco variation on a Moscow mule. I'm not a big fan of mules, but I liked the chilcano a lot. Whenever I'm back, I'll probably go for the pisco sour, which one of our party had and also really enjoyed. The arroz chaufa was a nice satisfying dinner that wasn't too heavy for the early hour. The loma saltado and vegetable saltado were both very much enjoyed as well. Flan was just okay. The orange was a wonderful touch that probably saved something much too custardy for me to think of as flan. Service was absolutely great.
