6 oz Filet Mignon with fondant potatoes and seasonal veggies

Overall, we enjoyed our meal at Brickhouse. The friendly, prompt service from Devon and delicious, well prepared food were certainly highlights. Some of the best French onion soup I've ever had, and I've tried many. The wedge salad was scrumptious if a bit overdressed. The cook on my petite filet was just perfect and the upgraded to fondant potatoes on request was very appreciated and they were quite well done. If I had to do it again, I'd skip the bread service, which was fairly meh. This restaurant is housed in an old firehouse that has been restored, which adds to its charm. What wasn't charming was the very strong fish smell upon entering the front door (so off-putting we considered making an immediate 180 and leaving upon our arrival). We grinned and beared it ~ but made sure to steer clear of any seafood options. Also subpar was the very sloppy appearance of the hostess. We laughed about "being old people now" but wearing a ragged shirt off the shoulder with her tacky bra strap showing with faded jeans and dirty tennis shoes just isn't congruent with the upscale steakhouse vibe it seems they're striving for here. Rounding up 3.5 stars to 4 because the food and service were very good.

This is our second time here and we can't ever get enough. Our server both times has been Glen and he is phenomenal, checks on you just enough, knows the ins and outs of the food and drinks. We adore him. The food is melt in your mouth perfection and cooked so well. We will keep coming back for the amazing service and food. I say 100% worth the prices. The food we got this time was 8oz bacon wrapped filet mignon with crab and lobster on top, so filling and cooked perfectly. The other dish is the bacon wrapped filet mignon with a HUGE lobster tail. Also a must try is the pork belly, if you like pork belly this place makes it the absolute best, so mouthwatering and full of flavor!

We stayed at Seventh Mountain resort for our anniversary and there were so many choices around for food. This place had good reviews, so we were in. The wife had the halibut and I had the rack of lamb. It was cooked perfectly. Both meals were delicious. The service was also outstanding. It can be a little pricey, but hey, it's a special occasion and was worth the $$ for sure. Will go back next visit. Thanks for an awesome experience and great meal!!

Sat in the back bricked room with a lit fireplace. Started with cocktails and the Bacon Wrapped Scallops. Excellent dish, served with four big scallops seared perfectly with just enough sauce to add poppin' flavor. We split a Caesar Salad, which was portioned very well. For entrees, we paired the American Wagyu Steak with the Prawns Scampi. The scampi is a poor man's lobster tail and an excellent addition to go with the steak. Richard's service was outstanding.

We're back for our annual Sunriver summer vacation and this place did not disappoint! Service was awesome like always. And the food, one of our favorite steak houses!

Excellent ambiance for a date night dinner. My wife and I came here our anniversary and had a fantastic time. The waitress gave us so many specials to choose from that it was almost overwhelming, and she was able to answer all our questions about the menu and drinks. She was even kind enough to cover our dessert since it was a special occasion! The food was beyond words. We ordered the meatball appetizer and my wife got the lobster tail. I opted for the Japanese Wagyu Special and it was easily the best steak I've ever had!

If you want microwave potatoes and canned beats come here!!! This was the most disgusting salad and mashed potatoes I've ever had. We were so exited after looking at the menu online and I was SO DISAPPOINTED of the food we were served

    Do they have gluten-free options?

Is this suitable for kids? We have one kid (4 yo) in our group of adults but want to be sure!

They have outdoor seating which might be best or they also have dining in the back which I think would be fine. The front dining is open to the Bar. Great food!

Yay! It was the best veggie burger my husband has had in a long time... he added avocado and vegan cheese (which did make it a bit pricey). Awesome that you can do many different sides including regular fries, Cajun fries, salad, chips, and more options... do wish they had onion rings however. I got the hummus plate which was good but not the best I've had. It came with a baguette which was more like garlic bread so I would have, personally, liked pita more. It also had a few olives on the side with a red pepper type sauce. I got it with no pickled onions. They had a great beer selection and even a few tasty non-alcoholic beers. Also had kombucha on tap which was delicious (from Humm). Everyone working was super sweet and the vibes were relaxed and casual. Our food came out quick and exactly how we ordered it. They also seemed to have spaces for larger parties, too. They also have a little gift shop if you wanted to pick anything from shirts, to bottle openers, to beer candles and more! Would come back again!

Only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is because if I lived closer I would probably eat here too often and that feels medically irresponsible. I'd give it 6 stars if Yelp understood burgers better.

We started our meal with a delicious non-alcoholic drink and the Chef's Board: a charcuterie with an assortment of cured meats, rustic bread, and various spreads. That came out pretty quickly. Unfortunately, our main courses came out much, much later and lukewarm. Luckily, the food was good enough that it made up for the temperature. I had the NY strip steak. The steak and the Boursin mashed potatoes alone were very good. The pickled onions and chimichurri complemented the meat very well. The meal was supposed to include brussel sprouts but came with a grilled broccoli cauliflower assortment instead. My wife had the Scallop Risotto which was also a great recommendation from the server. In reality, The Hook & Plow deserved 3 1/2 stars but that's not an option on Yelp. We ordered the same sandwich, with different side dish. He got French Onion soup, and I had Clam Chowder with our Half a Tuna Sandwiches. I was surprise to see vegetables in my Clam Chowder, that was a first! Both were quite good, except I didn't care for Onion Soup. Hubby loves his. I've taken photos inside, and only the next day, hubby realized there are two huge tree trunk inside the living room. ('Really? I didn't see that!' he questioned). We were seated in the very front of the restaurant, so unfortunately we didn't get to see the back area with the tree trunk growing through the ceiling. It's a cute older building with a traditional pub vibe, and the menu mostly has a slightly elevated pub food to match. Photos of varying significance line the walls. Many seem to reflect famous people who may or may not have been patrons over the years. My boyfriend ordered the fish and chips, and I ordered the mac and cheese with bacon. While both are simple dishes, they were both prepared well and quite tasty. The waitress was very efficient, but also laid back and friendly. We liked her a lot. I don't think you're going to experience a groundbreaking culinary experience here, but we did enjoy the quality of the classic dishes we ordered. The portion of mac and cheese was so big that I took leftovers and had the second half of it for lunch the next day. The prices seemed fair for the portions we received. I would come back here again for the friendly vibe, solid food, and lack of pretentiousness.

Street Side Comfort Food Done Right at Zydeco…read more On a cool night in Bend, my family made a last-minute decision to grab dinner at Zydeco Kitchen & Cocktails, and honestly it turned into one of our favorite meals of the trip. We were lucky enough to snag one of the last available tables, outside no less, but the overhead heaters kept the patio perfectly warm and cozy. Sitting street side watching people wander through downtown Bend while enjoying good food and cocktails gave the whole evening a relaxed and memorable vibe. One thing worth noting: make reservations if you can. Even on a cooler weekday evening this place was absolutely packed, and after eating there it was easy to understand why. The vibe walks a fine line between upscale and approachable. Busy without feeling chaotic, energetic without being loud, and the kind of place where you can just as easily have a family dinner as a date night. Great spot for couples, groups, or even grabbing a seat solo at the bar. Pricing felt right in line with the quality of food, cocktails, and overall experience. We started with cocktails, and it was immediately obvious the bar team knew what they were doing. The espresso martini was smooth and rich without being overly sweet, the Buffalo Trace Old Fashioned was balanced and spirit-forward, and the dirty martini had this savory umami quality that gave it a deep earthy finish that lingered in the best way. For appetizers, the BBQ shrimp over the southern grit cake absolutely delivered. Rich, buttery, smoky, and packed with flavor. The Village Baker bread with olive oil and the cane syrup butter topped with flaky smoked salt was another standout. Based on how quickly the plates were cleaned off the table, I would say both were a unanimous success. For dinner, I ordered the smoked pork chop and it was excellent. Thick cut, juicy, perfectly cooked, and paired with a bright salsa verde that cut through the richness perfectly. The dirty rice underneath carried a ton of flavor and rounded the dish out nicely. My daughter ordered the crispy half chicken and here's the pro tip: order it early because they do run out. We were told there were only a few left for the evening. The skin was beautifully crisp while the chicken stayed incredibly juicy, and the mashed potatoes and asparagus were simple but executed really well. My son-in-law went with the steak frites and was more than happy with the choice. The steak had a great crust, was cooked exactly to temperature, and the rogue smoky blue butter melted right into the meat giving every bite extra richness. The fries were thin, crispy, and impossible not to keep stealing off his plate. We also shared the cornbread with homemade butter and, as we say back home in Hawaii, it was "broke da mouth" good. Moist, slightly sweet, crispy around the edges, and dangerously easy to keep eating. What really stood out to me was the pacing of the meal and overall hospitality. Nothing felt rushed even with a full house. Drinks came out quickly, plates were timed well, and the staff genuinely seemed proud of the food they were serving. We especially enjoyed chatting with our waitress after finding out she had lived in Hawaii for six years. As visitors from Hawaii ourselves, it instantly gave the night a little unexpected "home away from home" feeling that made the experience even more memorable. Those little moments are what separate a good restaurant from one you genuinely remember after the trip is over. Zydeco delivered the kind of experience that makes you immediately start talking about when you can come back. Great food, thoughtful cocktails, strong hospitality, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. Solid four-star experience and absolutely worth a stop if you are spending time in Bend.
