We went to Brewhaus yesterday after an unfortunate experience at a nearby restaurant (we left before ordering). What a breath of fresh air! We had seating immediately and drinks as well. Our waitress was polite and kind and attentive. We had to wait a few minutes for our party to get situated, but she still kept checking on us. Once we ordered, our food arrived quickly. It was hot and amazing (as always). My brother-in-law and his wife ordered one entree to split and it even arrived on two plates, divided in half. Great service, great selections, great food. The main reason to visit Brewhaus is the view, possibly the best outdoor patio restaurant view in North Chattanooga. The food isn't too bad either. Tonight, not my first visit. I had the pattymelt. This was described as a mix of beef and brats with pimento cheese and onions on sour dough. I sprung for the extra bacon marmalade. It was neither as cheesy or meaty as I was hoping but it was downright delicious. The meat was indeed a patty of sausage and beef reprocessed into patty form, but it wasn't as fat as I'd like. The patty melt lurks on the menu near some half pound burgers but I felt it was more like a quarter pound of meat on this, I wanted more. The cheese was good but it seemed more like a melted american or mild cheddar, didn't taste or look at all like pimento. The bacon marmalade was out of this world. So like I said, delicious, but dont order it if you want a big hunk of meat or that tradition cream cheese based pimento flavor. I had a side of potato cakes. Good, not super crisp, but nice flavor. I also had a side of Brussels sprouts with bacon marmalade, which of course were awesome because bacon marmalade. We split the apple pie for desert, it was high on dough and lower on apples, didn't really hit my current apple pie craving. I'd skip that next time. read more

We stopped-in pretty early on a Sunday to grab some lunch before having to hit the road and travel back home. This was the first time we've traveled with our dog and Brewhaus was super accommodating to us as we ate in the picnic-table area. It was a beautiful day and it worked well to sit outside with the pup and have lunch. I've eaten here several times before and the food is always fantastic. This was the first time I've had brunch and I thought it was great. Girlfriend had a hamburger and it tasted great too. Service was awesome as multiple folks came outside and checked on us. Brewhaus is our Tuesday night Chattanooga Trivia hotspot. Every Tuesday a group of friends gets to hang out and do a brain strain to win the $40 gift voucher (and a chance at the title!)... Draft Beer menu is constantly updated so you never get bored with selections and they often have local brews. Generally they always have TN drafts, which are great! One of my groups typical orders is the Brewhaus Sampler. In that you get a German Pretzel with an assortment of mustards, brat sliders and some kraut balls. This is usually devoured in the matter of minutes. Most of the time this is fresh and hot but we've had (though good luck recently) some misfortune to get "cooler" pretzels. If you check in with Yelp, you can get yourself a free pretzel with an entree so make sure you check in when you get there!!!! The burgers have been great, my favorite is the Glockenspiel cheeseburger. I'm just a fan of pickled beets and as an Australian believe they should be on every burger. At times it can get cramped inside and has limited space on busy nights so make sure you get there early for dinner. Same is true of the parking around there, they do have private parking on the street but those spots are taken quickly. Looking forward to warmer days because the outside seating is excellent. I don't even know where to begin. Food was simply amazing and it came in very generous portions. The service was excellent as we where cared for by a really relaxed yet attentive college age student. Sitting was a bit difficult since the place was packed and the only available sitting was their "beer garden". Its a nice place to eat but with the sun on top of you we found ourselves taking shelter under the umbrella. This could be a big negative if you go on a day with bad weather. This place was an unexpected surprise across the board. We opted for outdoor seating on the patio with a beautiful view of the Walnut Street Bridge. Our dinner started nicely, with a free pretzel curtesy of yelp. The pretzel was fresh, not too oily and simply delicious. We ordered a burger for the kids to split (no kids menu), a Viennese schnitzel for me and spetzel for my husband. The food took longer than usual (more than 25 minuets) even though the restaurant wasn't too busy. The burger and home fries were ok; the schnitzel was very oily and once cut into, separated from its crust; the Brussel sprouts were steam-cooked topped with bacon jelly- not the best way to cook them (fried or grilled is best) and the bacon jelly added nothing to it flavor-wise; spetzel was ok, resembling gnocchi but nothing special about it; and the potatoes salad was not the mayo kind but something else, and not particularly tasty. First of all, free huge soft pretzel with Yelp check-in, awesome! You can enter via the front or back, but if it's your first time, the back entrance is unmarked, so you're kind of taking your chances. Lots of outdoor seating here--a wooden deck overlooking Coolidge Park and a separate biergarten off the front with picnic tables. Even the indoor seating feels open-air in nice weather because it's open to the outdoors. Server was friendly and personable and service was fast. The aforementioned free pretzel was delicious--massive, soft, hot and served with three types of stone-ground mustard (beware of the horseradish one! Holy nose-clearing, Batman!!). I got a small house salad (well-priced at $5), but the ranch was oddly spicy. It was different, but I was ok with it; it was too spicy for my kiddo though. I also got the cheeseburger to share. I would recommend specifying a temp unless you like well done. It came the the wrong side at first, but they quickly brought the right one--potato pancakes. They weren't terribly traditional German-style, more like flattened home fries disks, but very tasty. Tip: request a side of apple butter for dipping. You won't regret it! Good variety of draft beers on tap. I got a Viennese Lager that was quite tasty. We couldn't stay for it, but they have trivia on Tuesday evenings (and various other specials, events throughout the week). read more

It's a neat, casual space. The food is traditional German food, lots of bread and potatoes. I got the grilled pork with vegetable medley and brussel sprouts with the bacon marmalade. It wasn't very flavorful, which was disappointing. The pretzel was amazing- you must get it. The outside is crisp and the center is so fluffy. My sister got the schnitzel with the mushroom gravy. Brewhaus is a German-American gastro pub right on Frazier Avenue. It has all the German food you'd expect: pretzels, sausages, schnitzel, spaetzle, cabbage, potatoes, etc. Biggest surprise? It's vegetarian-friendly. They have a vegetarian sausage option (just a Tofurkey dog, but still...), and they have a vegetarian spaetzle plate. That's what I got, and it was delicious! Spaetzle with a mushroom cream sauce and veggies. They also have a good beer selection and several TVs (showing a soccer match when we ate there). So the portions are WAY too big. And we left FULL. But it was a fun place to grab a bite to eat. German food and good beer and TVs? Only way it could be better? If we'd brought a board game or cards with us!
