When the appetizers arrived, we were greeted by not only demonstration, but taste above what I've had as of recent. Wife enjoyed the freshness of the tomatoes and cheese whilst I was mesmerized by how subtle and uber smooth my Old Fashioned was. We unwinded and talked about our day here in this city and then our next meal plates arrived. I had the very unique and well presented Beet Ravioli and the wife had the exquisite Spicy Lamb Rigatoni. Immediate upon arrival to our table my wife and I exchanged a bite of each other's plates to give a chance for our taste pallets to experience one another. The Beet Ravioli took back my wife to a time where she made something of similar taste and the Rigatoni took me back to California when I tasted something familiar then. Towards the end, I saved the location at the name of the restaurant, as I would like a near future to come back and visit with more time. No signage warning of the fees, no warning from the cashier. He quoted me the total price of the order, but the receipt showed a higher amount than he quoted due to the stealth junk fee. Had I been told there would be a junk fee, I would have paid cash. But they hid the junk fee until after the sale was made. It's so tiring getting hit with stealth junk fees. They can charge what they wish for their product, but for crying out loud, STOP it with the stealth fees and honestly price your product that includes all of your costs except for sales tax.. If you think you have to gin up a fee for something, put it on the menu, on the entry door, and at the register. Or better yet, raise your menu prices by whatever amount you think you need and give customers a discount off of the menu price for cash. Credit/debit cards are used for nearly 80% of retail purchases. Your product prices should reflect the way the vast majority of your customers pay. No one gets an unpleasant surprise that way, and you are being honest with your customers. It's not that hard to do...

We entered the door furthest from the chapel, which turned out to be a side entrance. We were kindly redirected to the hostess. We were promptly seated and then greeted by Nikki. Sunday's breakfast is a buffet style of a very high quality and diverse, including European style items. The muffins and mini quiches were made with quality ingredients and had to be locally made from scratch. While I did not partake, my fav feature was the donut wall - a large wooden board w donuts on pegs. What a fun way to display a variety of donuts and be engaging for kids and kids at heart. And the Jittery Joe coffee just hit - right temp and flavor. What we didn't expect is the restaurant being open to the chapel's large foyer. We were seated so we could see the foyer and parishioners greeting each other before service. People also came into the restaurant to quickly say hi to servers and staff. At first it was a bit strange (I'm agnostic) but found it added to the warm and welcoming feel of the restaurant. I'm interested to eat lunch here next time we visit. Seems they have a diverse menu.

Some things I'd like to see happen here: (1) a more true and robust brunch menu and please get an espresso machine, (2) brunch could use some live music and/or a dj (like a toned-down Stateside Kitchen vibe or a jazz trio--something--anything). The food is so good here, there is no reason this place shouldn't be absolutely packed on a Sunday.
