Supposedly a hamburger steak.
Bacchus B.

If you can't be bothered to drive to East Brainerd and this is your only option... I'm sorry. I mean the burgers are okay. Fries are basic. But whatever you do, do NOT order the hamburger steak dinner. Unless you like a dry, overcooked and laughable rendition of what a hamburger steak should be. I can't believe I just paid actual money for this! Also customer service is a real problem. But that's it's own story.

First time here at this Armando's and was with a friend that I ride with. It has off street parking and is not a very big place. It has a number of booths and tables and is a typical local family restaurant. No beer from my burger (-1) but still was worth the trip. At the suggestion of my friend, I tried the kids burger meal with crinkle fries and coffee. Service was good and fast and the burger was decent size and filled me up. Coffee was fresh and food was hot. Since my friend helped me with some motorcycle stuff, I bought his lunch. Our combined bill was less than 10 dollars. WOW. It was obvious the burger was not made from a frozen Pattie and I will be back. Solid 4 from me.

Taylor was our server and she was PHENOMENAL. from making us feel welcome to making us never want to leave, she had the best personality. She was prompt and checked on us many times to ensure we were enjoying our time. We ordered a couple cocktails, the blackberry mule (something like that haha) was great. I had 2! for dinner we had the spinach dip and steak nachos from the appetizer sections. The balsamic glaze on the nachos was my favorite part, just the right amount of tangy with savory. Will absolutely be coming back for those again! This is a beautiful restaurant, from the entrance to the clean and neat bathrooms. Will 100% be back.

My wife and I tend to share an appetizer and a main most times when we dine out. We started out with the stuffed piquillo peppers and they did not disappoint! If you are a fan of goat cheese you will love these too. The sweetness of the pepper with the tang of balsamic coupled with the smooth taste of the goat cheese is almost to die for! We then shared the Pimento burger with fries and those too were outstanding! The burger is not overwhelmingly big, but big enough for two to share. The fries were absolutely delish! The service was good as well. I don't remember anything over-the-top outstanding but these days, decent service might actually qualify as over-the-top relative to what you see at most establishments! (so sad) Definitely worth a try if you are in the Chattanooga area.

They had an excellent red wine selection and the waiter was extremely nice! We decided to start with the jerk cauliflower and it honestly was my favorite thing on the menu! The reviews looked well, so we went hungry and excited. The restaurant is gorgeous, loved the view of the restaurant as I ate on the wall of booths. We had a reservation that was taken promptly, our service was convenient but I wouldn't say pleasant. We ordered the veggie pizza (great flavor, slimy texture from too many mushrooms etc 4/5) the ceasar salad (started with some finesse 4/5) and the jerk cauliflower(5/5). The only item we were disappointed in was the wings (1/5). Now let me explain. Wooden city reads as a smart modern, quality of food type of location. The wings were great values finest: and thus were huuuuge and unappetizing. Yall pull up, just don't get the wings lol

Every one of the sides looks so good and fresh that I wanted to get each one of them just to try it! The fish was cooked perfectly and was nice and tender. The added little muffin I didn't expect was a nice touch and delicious. The collard greens were SO GOOD. I'd get them again. So flavorful and cooked well. The beets were fresh and the goat cheese carried so much flavor. For the desserts, we got the carrot cake with pecans and chocolate cheesecake. Both were soooo good. I would get both of them again, especially the carrot cake which was so warm and moist. And the candied pecans were such a nice complement to the cake - not too sweet at all. The ambience is super nice and fresh, and our server was so sweet and engaging. The hostess as well. Everybody there was so nice and welcoming. It was a little more busy when we came in but it definitely got awkwardly quiet closer to 1pm. They didn't have any music playing and the place is kinda big, plus noise tends to echo, so that made our conversation a bit more public than I would like. The church chairs also were kind of messing with the vibe. Looking back, I'm not surprised at all to find out the restaurant is affiliated with a church. But the food was great! My friend enjoyed her pizza and I liked my burger and fries. I think the burger could have had some more flavor to it and more cheese, but the bun was awesome and the fries were amazing. I'd definitely order the fries again. If you're looking for a vibey restaurant to have a private conversation, this is not the place for you lol. But if you're meeting up with a group or idk... are cool with eating in a quiet churchy atmosphere then this is a good place to go. The food is solid and our server was great. They also have their own parking lot, which makes things easy.
