Stopped here on a ride to the Smokies, and turned out to be the perfect lunch place. Had an avocado BLT that was stuffed with avocado and with lettuce and was very tasty. The fried okra was batter fried--haven't seen that in a restaurant before--and was delightful. Good service as well. read more

Yuck! It was huge portions, but the food was low quality. Breakfast sausage - big sausage patties that tasted like greasy cardboard. Totally devoid of a good sausage flavor. Eggs - they serve 3 eggs. It was a large portion. I don't know if they actually cracked the eggs for my order because I had scrambled eggs. They had that watery flavor reminiscent of a cheap buffet. Pancakes - again two plate sized pancakes make up the short stack. The problem is the taste was that of school paste; like a simple mixture of flour and water. Sausage gravy - was there sausage in that gravy? I didn't see much and with the flavorless sausage it was probably nothing to miss. Home Fries - soppy wet and greasy. The heavy hand with the pepper does not make the grease-laden tuber cubes taste any better. It was really low prices for such a huge meal. Don't bother. The food is alright but definitely not worth the wait. The are trying to sell the same tired old party line: "We're short staffed" (News flash: It has been that way everywhere for the last two years!) They have resorted to downright lying to folks about the wait time. If you decide to go, double whatever wait time you have been given. ie 30 minutes is actually an hour. This is not just us but also the consensus among other customers waiting. And by the way... if you are "short staffed" in the kitchen, the manager should be covering whatever is short IN THE KITCHEN. We actually live out of town, but Everytime we visit my in-laws, this place is a MUST. They have a huge menu which could please anyone who's picky. I don't like breakfast foods but this menu is so large I struggle to pick something! It's got a very old fashion homey vibe too it! I ordered the philly steak supreme with fries, my husband ordered breakfast.the sandwich was perfect, hot bulging at the seams. The meat was piled up with mushrooms, onions and green peppers. If I could give negative stars I would. With today's awareness around Covid-19 and they steps restaurants go to (or are supposed to) in order to operate. This restaurant is doing nothing more than separating tables. The two teenage hostesses were eating something with their hands when we walked in, neither one washed their hands or used sanitizer before grabbing our silverware and menus. It's disgusting and against health code without Covid-19 restrictions. Both girls looked annoyed that we interrupted them and promptly went back to eating with their bare hands after we were seated, and then touched other guests menus and silverware without washing their hands. The sign as you enter the restaurant says face coverings required. The hostess and many other waitresses were not wearing face coverings. When I asked my waitress she said that her manager was OK with her not wearing it. She said her face broke out because of the mask.To me that is not an acceptable excuse. Also there was no social distancing in place. Every booth was occupied. The menus that we were given were obviously not wiped down.After seeing all of this I exited the restaurant pronto. read more

Responsive to special diet needs. Very helpful. Food was delicious--rarely can one find "milk or pepper gravy" without sausage or sausage flavoring. It is obvious their food is not canned, or made from a "sauce mix"--but made from scratch with tender care. read more

Our new go-to breakfast and brunch spot! As a Cracker Barrel enthusiast for many years, I was delighted to find this local chain right in my new hometown. The staff were super polite and friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a wide front porch for visiting while you're waiting to be seated. Once inside, you immediately notice the floor to ceiling rustic style pine. There's a quiet hum of folks talking and silverware on plates, like a favorite country farmhouse style restaurant. Our server, Lily, was fantastic. She was polite, fast, and friendly. She got our order 100% correct and came back enough times to check on us while letting us take time to enjoy our meal and conversation, even refilling our coffee so we could stay and visit a bit longer. All of that makes for a great dining experience. The food, however, is amazing. That's what will keep me coming back! We had a California style omelet and biscuits and gravy and grits and hash browns. Everything--I repeat, everything!-- was not only delicious, but superior to other breakfast restaurants I've enjoyed in the past. The produce was fresh, the coffee was great. We were SO impressed. I completely understand being busy on a Saturday. We got to the parking lot and instead of heading in, we called to find out wait for 2 people. We were told, I can't tell you that, you have to be here. I said we are in parking lot, just want to know if it's a long wait. Lady said, I can't tell you. Today I was taking my mother out for breakfast for her 78th birthday. I arrived 5 minutes before she did, at 8:25 am. I asked for a table, I was asked if all my party was here. I said, "no three more were on their way." So, I sat down to wait, meanwhile two different women came in to eat. One was alone, she said. The second was waiting on one person. A different gentleman seated her. I approached the hostess to quested her on being seated. She informed me that I could not take up one of her tables to wait on another guest to arrive. You know I could understand if they were busy, but there were about 10 tables with guest. leaving about 30 to 40 tables on the main level open. Or if I was a group of 8 or more. it did not end there. She kept running her mouth. I informed her if it was not my mother's birthday and this is where she wanted to eat, I would leave now. She told me there were other places to go. When my parent's arrived, I found out my husband was running a little behind do to work. He told me to order for him. I again approached the hostess stand to be seated, I asked, "could you please seat us my husband is running late, I will order for him." She stated, " since you said please, " then left it hanging, I said, really? She stated, "Or maybe you want to wait 15 minutes more? " We left and had a great breakfast at cracker barrel.
