The only reason I gave four stars is because I am vegetarian, prefer vegan and there are not many choices. But that's really not their specialty so I do not hold that against them. I would like to start by saying the food is fantastic! The 1 star is not because of food but rather the customer service! First, I attempted to call in a phone order and they never answer. Last time I called in an order they told me they took phone orders just not Friday-Sunday. Well today is a Thursday. I was doing something so I waited to try and call again. I finally got through and got so much attitude for wanting to place an order via phone. Should have been my first reason to just not order but my husband really likes their breakfast burrito. Second, I get there and like ALWAYS Stacey (she gave me her name this time on accident) focused on the male customers in there more than the female customers. I've been supporting this business since their grand opening and she's always been that way. So I watched as all 3 workers helped him with only 4 tables that had people at them before they even acknowledged I was there. Third, after saying I was there for a phone order Stacey again rolled her eyes and rang me up. Then was like oh good you have cash so you won't get charged. I thought charging for credit card purchases wasn't allowed anymore? But anyways she never even gave me my change!! SHE JUST STUCK IT IN HER APRON! If she wasn't so damn rude I would have called her out but it wasn't worth it! Fourth, I asked if I could have some salsa for the burrito because I didn't see any in the bag. She argued with me so I went to open the bag to show her and she pushed my hand out of the way telling me she could go through it better, opened EVERY box, practically emptied the bag, blamed me saying it was because I asked for ranch (for my chicken tenders) and then rudely told me that when I got home she guarantees that I will find another one in the bag. So she yelled to another worker to grab one and she came out arguing that there was some in the bag! I got home and guess what NO salsa! I really wish the owner would reach out to me because I have supported this place from day one and this woman has been horrible since day one! If I was a handsome man maybe I'd get good customer service but sorry I'm not! I don't know how they can let this woman act like this every single time I go in, and looking at reviews she does it to a majority of the people. I am sad to say that I will no longer support this small Redlands business. I can get a better breakfast burrito at R burger and 100% better customer service at Carolyn's. read more

I love me a good breakfast spot with quality food, service, and southern charm. This place is a great little gem in Redlands! The menu has lots of delicious comfort food items that it's hard to choose something because everything on menu sounds so fricking good! I ordered the country fried steak and it was perfection. Crispy yet juicy on the inside served up with actual crispy hash browns, eggs, and a biscuit smothered and covered in gravy! yum yum yum! My friends have usually ordered the country Benedict which is a version of eggs Benedict but with the country steak on top! My son's pancakes were fluffy and really top notch! They also do mimosas buy the BIG glass for those interested in some Sunday funday shenanigans. The coffee taste really good as well plus they offer flavored creamers which is a win in my book. I've lived in Redlands most of my life and we have some AMAZING locally owned breakfast spots in town, so it's a tough competition. For me, Breakfast Shack does everything right. It's a small, quaint little joint that feels very home-y. We came on Black Friday around 9:30am and were seated right away, woo! Our server was the sweetest lady, and had the biggest smile on her face the whole time. We got served our coffee, and it was nice and smooth. Less than 10 minutes later, all our food came out. The portions are hefty, just what I like to see! We had absolutely no complaints, and loved every single item we ordered. I've gotten to-go from here a couple times and loved all of it. They're very quick and attentive to any need or question you might have. This is one of my new favorite breakfast spots. This was one of the first places listed on Yelp for breakfast & so we went, and I'm pretty pleased that we did. The wait for this place was fairly long. We got there some time after 11am & was seated 40-45 mins after that. A lady working was trying to get us a table large enough to fit our group of 7 but ended up saying she had tables next to each other just not together. She offered it to us so that we could just get in and eat instead of waiting any longer. But ended up, a large enough table opened and we were sat together. Definitely appreciated the lady's efforts in getting us in to eat together. Many of us were in a chicken fried steak mood and it did deliver! The steak was fried very nicely, did not come out oily and the gravy was delicious. I prefer a bit more gravy on top, but it was still tasty. I won't lie that this may be my favorite breakfast spot for serious comfort food. I'll also preface this that I'm originally from Indiana where we cover everything good with white gravy and chances are that thing is fried. So, I ventured to breakfast Shack not expecting to transport to a good Indiana dîner, but I did. First note : the place is small and SUPER busy on weekends. So plan to wait even if you only have 2 or 3 people in your party. I waited around 25 minutes after getting there at 10:15 am on a Sunday. That being said, again, totally worth the wait. Also, they're only open until 2 pm so get there early! My friend and I and her son went for breakfast. I got country fried steak Benedict which was FABULOUS. My friend got the regular order of country fried steak, and we were both super happy with our choices. The country friend steak was super fresh and crispy, and the gravy was legit--not the gloopy white gravy that you get at other restaurants. For the kids breakfast, my friend's son got an egg, toast, potatoes, and bacon for 6 bucks. He was full and super happy with his choice. While not on the menu (or I didn't see it), they have mimosas for 7 bucks and they are a great size and strength. I had 2 and was feeling good. Our waitress was super helpful, as was everyone else that was at the restaurant. The ambiance is great and super chill even though so many people are passing through. We will not be coming back to Breakfast Shack due to the rude behavior from the staff. We arrived at 11:00am and were told that the wait was 1 to 1.25 hours since we had our dog and had to wait for the patio seating area. The wait ended up being THREE hours! We checked in a total of three times to see if our table was ready and we were non-confrontational, but the staff seemed annoyed anyway. While we waited outside, parties were being seated at the patio when there were still tables inside the restaurant and we ended up being the last party to be seated at 2:00pm! I understand the restaurant can get busy, but there were still open tables inside. The staff needs to be more strategic about seating to ensure this doesn't happen. When our table was finally ready, a staff member came out and asked "Are you guys ready??" in a rude tone. No "sorry for the wait" or "thank you for waiting" or anything apologetic from anyone. We finally get to the table and the table isn't even ready. There were biscuit crumbs and orange slices all over the floor and no one bothered to clean it up until I asked. When someone came to clean, they didn't even try even though we made room for them. There were still crumbs all over the floor. We had our dog sitting on a chair and were rudely demanded to put him on the floor despite all the crumbs still being there. Maybe if y'all cleaned the floor better and asked nicely, I would've let it slide. Anyway, food was mid and not worth the three hour wait. Service was deplorable and abysmal. Never coming back. One suggestion I would make is to adapt to 2022 and use an electronic waitlist to notify people 10-15 minutes before they get seated so they're not just sitting around waiting. read more
