    Southwest Zeppelin
    Thuy N.

The young guy that took my order was polite, patient and accommodating. He made recommendations to assist me making a decision. I ended up getting a southwest bread but with some substitutions. He even let me try a sample of the dressing. Also, some bread that was hollowed out. Hey, that is the best of a goos bread to me. Just wanted to review the service provided at my first encounter since other review was not great. As I was the only person in line it was quick. There is another employee that was the cashier.

    1 drink, 1 chips, and 2 Zeppelins for $30.

LOVE Bread Zeppelin. It's honestly such a simple concept, serving salad inside of bread instead of having the bread on the side. Yet, it's SO yummy. My husband found this place for me for the first time when I was staying in Dallas. I had it DoorDashed to me from the Dallas location, so today was my first time inside the actual restaurant. We were both so excited to find one close to home because we originally thought it was only in Dallas & he hadn't tried it. My favorite is the Southwest Zeppelin with avocado ranch, though I prefer it with Arcadian Mix instead of romaine with crispy tortilla strips added and no tomatoes. I know it's just a salad, but it's a phenomenal one. My husband ordered the Metro Cobb Zeppelin & he really liked it too. The only reason I do have to give 4 stars instead of 5 & issue a sort of "buyer beware" is for the staff, cleanliness, and price. It didn't make me uncomfortable to eat here, but this location is dirty. The drink machine was super dusty & leaking everywhere. All the booth seats are cracked & the floors were disgusting. I didn't even want to eat inside since this location has a patio, but it was too windy to eat outside. I was worried I'd have my expensive meal blow away. Which brings me to the price.... I love it as mentioned, so it helps cushion the blow a little. But for both of us to get a Zeppelin (think half a sub sandwich size), then 1 drink & 1 bag of chips for me, it was $30+. That's so crazy to me, but again it is Southlake. Lastly, the staff was just there. Not really friendly, not really rude. While we were eating inside I noticed a woman waiting for 10 minutes for someone to come take her order. There were lots of staff working when we ordered & paid but they had all disappeared. If you're looking for tasty salad with a few extra dollars to spare, this is your place. If you're hoping to go somewhere with exceptional customer service, this isn't it.

ALMOST $17.00 FOR THIS!!! This would cost $3.50 at TX Roadhouse lol ‍

This was the most disappointing food experience I have ever had.... I have been to every salad place imaginable in and around Southlake so when my coworkers suggested it I thought it would be like other places... Bread Zeppelin is similar to other places but everything was underwhelming. The chicken was bland, romaine lettuce was wilted and did not seem fresh and the "made in house" ranch dressing was flavorless and tasted like lightly flavored mayonnaise. But as bad as all of that was, the price was ridiculous. I spent over $16 for a drink and my salad which was the size of a side salad from any other restaurant. I actually left hungry. And when I asked the staff if my meal looked like it warranted $16+ they shrugged and said that's what I cost. I literally had Romain lettuce, white cheddar cheese, chicken, a spoonful of corn, and ranch.... That's it. You can see the pic of my feast below lol... Skip this place, roll over to Salada where you will pay less and get plenty of food.

Moving to Texas a while back, a friend said "never underestimate a restaurant in a strip mall"…read more Craftway Kitchen in Southlake isn't exactly in a strip mall, but in the outlot of a few big box retailers. We've driven past Craftway Kitchen more than a few times, always intrigued with a 'we have to try that place sometime'. Saturday night was sometime. Taking our chances as a party of three walk in's, the restaurant was full inside, and there were a few tables open on the patio. I generally don't like to eat on patios, because flies show up, etc. Not at Craftway... not sure what they were doing, but there wasn't a fly or other flying bug around. The patio wasn't just clean, it was meticulous. Welcoming too - It felt very much like an extension of the restaurant. Alex, our waiter was quick to bring water and menus. Returning to take drink orders, a margarita was ordered as was a glass of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc. Drinks were quickly served. Water was never allowed to become empty. Alex asked if we had ever been to Craftway, we informed him this was our first visit. His ask "any allergies?" to which we said no. He disappeared, returning with an appetizer sampling plate with three items - the Reuben egg rolls, crab stuffed mushrooms, and blue cheese chips. All were fantastic! Three entrees ordered, the Chicken & Fig sandwich, Chicken Milanese and the Cajun pasta with Chicken. Food arrived; each entree was fantastic. Cooked to perfection, flavors were amazing. Dessert, shared, was a bread pudding with ice cream, a perfect finish. Alex never let beverages become empty, delivered superb service. The Chef circulated the room checking on satisfaction and chatting with patrons. Giving Craftway Kitchen a very well deserved 5-star rating. The staff did everything right! Departing, we talked about what we will order next time. We will be back to Craftway Kitchen!

Most of the starers are mouthwatering, even the unexpected Ruben Eggrolls are a delight. Less daring items like the coconut shrimp are equally good. Without a doubt my go to entree is the Beef Wellington. I remember La Madeleine had an affordable one on their menu in the late nineties, this is reminiscent. I do usually swap out the mashed potatoes for the chopped wedge as side, just seems like the classical steakhouse side for the task. The only thing I would say that is lacking is the wine list, despite being very fairly priced. Their most bespoke bottle of red is the Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon (2021), which while amazing for the $99.99 they charged, it was fairly flat, lacking the traditional vanilla perfume you'd expect from a pricey California Cabernet Sauvignon. Also took a bottle of GH Mumm Grand Cordon, which also did not taste as anticipated. I think the most plausible explanation might be heat damage, as both wines are usually well regarded but came up short.

They have the various different flavored tea. The Decor, cute, and effective. It's like there is a vibe of trying to be a local restaurant yet they are trying to survive in a corporate world. Now me being a T1D foodie means that I seek out meals comprised of meat and vegetables. Being a diabetic foodie is not fun or easy. My number one midday option is salad. If I were ever to be in a position in the restaurant world where I could Influence the menu, I would definitely make a true meal size salad a common option industry wide. In my opinion, ordering a salad isn't secret code for "I really don't want to eat." This is nothing against the original chophouse in particular because I have a hard time finding a salad at any restaurant that hits the spot. Yes, when we left the restaurant, I was still hungry. My wife didn't enjoy her meal very much because there was way too much salad dressing for her liking. The kids enjoyed it, I think. My little boy will eat just about anything. I never know what my daughter's gonna do in the way of ingesting calories. All I can do is offer her food and see what happens. There was nothing extraordinary about this little place. Unfortunately, for any business in Southlake, I seem to put higher expectations on them when I'm in that area. I don't guess that's fair to anyone involved with whatever kind of business transaction I may find myself dealing with while in that part of town. I would definitely go back there, but I would study the menu a bit more in order to find something that is a bit more filling.

My child ordered the "Sneaky Taziki," which ended up being a dried-out chicken breast with cheese in a tortilla, and he barely touched it. Overall, this feels like a place designed for a more generic take on Greek/Mediterranean food rather than something truly authentic or memorable. There's nothing outright bad about it, but nothing really stands out either. It's fine, just not somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit again. 3 Stars, right down the middle.

Both came with buttery rice, a fresh salad drizzled with olive oil, and yogurt sauce. The chicken was tender and properly seasoned, but the lamb was the highlight. Lamb can easily turn dry or overly gamey if not handled right, but this was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor even when cooked well done, exactly how a good shish kebab should be. I skipped dessert this time, though they offer a few options, and I noticed what appeared to be a buffet setup, which I'm curious to try next. Overall, a solid, well executed Mediterranean meal.
