I really love the build your own concept  because for someone who has a slightly picky side the standard menu can be intimidating. So many fantastic, fresh options for both salads and Zeppelins!  A Zeppelin is basically a baguette that has been hollowed out and then your chopped salad is put inside and it's pretty neat! If you pick just a salad, be prepared... it's huge!  Be prepared to pay over $10 for your meal (not including a drink or sides). Both the Zeppelins and salads I've tried have been delicious, though I wasn't a huge fan of the soup (broccoli cheddar).  The texture/consistency was...different...like it had been pureed. It was very thin, almost watery.  I didn't know to ask for bread with it and it wasn't offered, but I saw someone later ask for some when they ordered theirs. Overall, this is a place we will continue to visit for outstanding salads. read more

Great place and definitely a breath of fresh air- unique concept and fresh ingredients make Bread Zeppelin work well. I've gotten the southwest and lone star zeppelin and both were fantastic- the avocado ranch and chipotle ranch were dressings I tried and were full of flavor. This place has so many options and combinations you can go through that it can be very overwhelming when ordering at first. If you're in the mood for a fresh new take on awesome sandwiches, this is the place to go. Clean, simple, fast, fresh- what else can you ask for in a sandwich place? Typically the food and service is amazing. Today I wanted to show off this awesome place to my coworkers, so I had my s/o pick up our order. The guy gave him a hard time and took out his frustration on him and our order. We ordered an extra dressing for a salad and we never got it. Our Zeppelins were squished and fell apart easily. And since when was it a requirement to make group orders online? What if all of us went in together? Would we also have to pre-order it? Meh, unimpressed. First timer, got the Washington Apple salad and added some egg and avocado - no idea where they ended up in my salad. I saw the guy put them on there - but they do this manic chopping process to you r salad that basically makes all the toppings unrecognizable. I couldn't tell chicken from cheese in the bowl of green mush they gave me. Great concept, just poorly executed. I probably won't come back. Maybe I've been to salata too many times but this place I didn't think was as good. First, the line seemed slow but I didn't base my review on that. Salata is slow too and unless I can open my own salad joint and serve quicker, I won't knock stars off for it. I got the southwest zepplin. I think the baguette thing they use is amazing. It's crunchy and light. The salad..all fresh and eye appealing. When they applied the dressing the salad maker looks at you in a gesture to ask how much do you want. Good move. Salata charges extra for dressing in their small bowls. If there's two things Texans like it's gravy and dressing. Don't skimp out. I also got a cup of broccoli cheese soup. Nothing noteworthy. It was a little cream heavy and lacked cheese and broccoli. Could've also used more seasoning. The peach mango tea was really good. Def get it. I would give 3.5 stars if we could give halfs. You would think that opening a salad shop was pretty easy, but apparently a good salad shop is hard to come by. Two pros for this place: 1. I am one of those persons who, if given the choice to make my own salad, always puts the same ingredients in .... every....single.... time. This place has over ten pre-made options for salads (or you can also build your own if you so please) and best of all, all of the salad options sound super tasty, healthy and are reasonably priced -- even with protein added! Also, a bonus for 20 varieties of housemade dressing! 2. The options are expanded by allowing a salad or a sandwich ("Zepplin") option. Other salad competitors also allow you to get a sandwich" --- but most sandwich options at a salad place really suck! Here, the Zepplin bread is like a baguette, except the bread is a perfect consistency of not too hard and not too soft. They hollow out the inside so you can get your carb load and feel a little less guilty. :) Go for the salad, or go for the Zepplin, both a win in my book. read more

Been wondering for a while when a good salad place would turn up and here it is! Its very clean and I feel good just walking in with the simple yet nice decor. The ingredients are very fresh and the zepplins are delicious. Everyone needs to try their soup some time because you can ask for the innards of the bread they take out of the baquette to dip your soup with. The soup itself is also very soothing. The only little quirk I have is that the line does get held up by the employees chopping up the ingredients in front of you. Its fun to watch but it does sometimes create a bottleneck during busy hours of the day. read more

Update: I've heard back from management today 6/22 and they explain that YES they DO offer CURBSIDE SERVICE!!! They apologized for the mistake made this weekend and will be re-emphasizing their curbside process / policy with their team at this location. They also thanked me for sending feedback and said they'd send a gift card, so that's cool. Glad they're choosing a safer option for employees & guests. Adjusting my review from 1 to 5 stars, but will update again if we have issues again the next time we go. // NO CURBSIDE SERVICE. We have loved going to this place pre-COVID, but today discovered that if you order take out online (and we even left a 15% tip pre-pickup), they won't walk your food out to you - you're expected to walk inside the somewhat crowded, enclosed, high-traffic space. Given that we have vulnerable / medical issues in our family, we were surprised by the refusal to walk out to car, especially when parking spaces are right by the front door. After several back-and-forths, staff was willing to hold restaurant front door open to hand us out the food. I later called management of this store, which confirmed no curbside service, and I've also emailed the feedback email addy on the receipt to ask if this is a corporate-wide policy. It seems surprising from a public health standpoint to not offer curbside pickup? But I guess if you want contactless service you need to order delivery? When you order online, this is not made clear that you must walk in to get your food. I hope management decides to change their approach - it would be nice to be able to order without the delivery service fees / up charge, and pick up curbside without contact with staff. A lot of places do this so I'm surprised Bread Zeppelin isn't doing it. It took longer than expected to order but when you're in a hurry it always does. The staff wasn't really informative as it being my first time so I just asked a lot of questions. I love bread. I really do. And so when I saw that Bread Zeppelin was opening up on Hebron & Midway - I knew I had to go there once it had opened. But I was a bit disappointed. I had expected to walk into a warm restaurant filled with the scent of baked bread and tons of glorious breads to devour. It's all salad. If you have been to Snappy Salads and Subway, the atmosphere is just the same. You walk in and can choose a particular pre-made salad option OR you can create your own. You can either have the salad in a bowl or a Zeppelin - which is half a baguette with the insides removed to make room for your salad to go inside. Once your ingredients are selected, you watch the staff cut, chop, and mix the salad altogether and wrap it up to go. It's about $10 for a single pre-made Zeppelin with NO drink or Chips included. Now, I gave Bread Zeppelin a chance. All the salad choices look very appetizing and considering how hungry I was at the time, i wasn't going to let the lack of bread stop me from eating. Selecting the Metropolitan Cobb salad with Hangar Bleu dressing was the best decision I made that day. And surprisingly the baguette itself looked well toasted. The eating experience is somewhat difficult. Having the bread being a little harder to hold and retain it's shape as well as supporting all the green goods inside, you couldn't treat the food like a normal sub sandwich. I had to eat the salad with a fork, stop halfway, and eat the rim of the bread. It was really exhausting. But the taste was fantastic. And that's the saving grace of Bread Zeppelin. I didn't think I would be happy at the end considering that their branding LIED to my face about bread. Yet I've already returned twice just to eat the salad. read more

Got the Tejano Caesar Salad. It was a caesar salad with tortilla chips, jalapeños and I can't remember what. The portion size was pretty big. I ate half of a huge bowl and felt pretty full. Bread Zeppelin is back in my good graces! Even though my last visit was pretty bad, I figured it was just a mishap and couldn't stay away. As soon as I walked in this time I was greeted by multiple workers, and this really nice guy who always helps me went around the corner and washed his hands to make my salads. He's a tall guy with long hair and glasses (I think), and I feel like he might be a manager since he's almost always there. And coincidently the one time I had an awful experience, he wasn't there. I went back to my original Southwest Zeppelin which was perfectly made with its fresh ingredients as usual. I was really excited when I came across this restaurant on Yelp. I read the reviews and it sounded GREAT to a lady that has been on hospital bed rest for weeks who just wanted something fresh. So, my husband picked up the Metropolitan Cobb Zeppelin and brought it to the hospital... sadly. He was a bit disappointed by the side and was confused that it didn't come with some kind of side. I wish I could say I was one of those healthy, conscious eaters who order salads at restaurants. But I am not one of those girls. So when I heard about Bread Zepplin, I thought, 'Salad in bread? How good can that be?' I had a rude food awakening. When you first walk in, it almost seems like a froyo shop; white, clean, with clear glass separating you and the delicious ingredients. It also reminded me of Snappy Salads, but with bread. Clearly, there is a winner here. You can choose from different kinds of salads or build your own. I chose the Atlantis which is grilled chicken, cucumber, tomatoes, kalamata olives, banana peppers, onions, feta, and romaine. You can also choose your own dressing. I chose cranberry poppyseed vinaigrette. The ingredients are chopped and tossed in a metal bowl. There are LOTS of choices, but surprisingly, for an indecisive foodie as me, I chose pretty quickly. The menu is organized in a simple way. You can get a Zepplin (salad only) or a Bread Zepplin. Of course, I got the bread! They use a French baguette that is super hot. Then they fish out the bread pulp to put your salad mixture in. I almost asked for the bread; that's my favorite part! I wonder what they do with it... It would be such a waste to throw it away. ;) The service isn't good or bad; although maybe they should be a bit more peppy. All in all, a GREAT concept on salads. Add bread and everything is better. Break Zeppelin combines two of my favorite types of lunch restaurants - Build-your-own salad and sandwich places. It is by far one of the best too. They hollow out a delicious roll of bread and stuff a chopped up salad of your choosing inside! The salads are delicious and there are plenty of fresh ingredients to choose from. My favorites are the Tajano Caesar and the Cobb salad. The best part is they let you swap out any ingredients you want - which comes in handy for a picky eater. My favorite part is that they use fresh jalapenos not the nasty picked kind, which unbeknownst to me so many restaurants use instead! Plus they chop everything up before putting it in the bread so you get the perfect combo and you don't accidentally take a huge bite of a spicy jalapeno! The bread is delicious, it is enough so that it fills you up but not too overwhelming since the middle is carved out. Crunch on the outside and soft on the inside and word on the street is that they make their croutons out of the extra inside bread - great to add if you want to get just a salad. The lines can get a little long if you go right at a busy time, but they have multiple people working on mixing the salads so it moves quickly. The inside is pretty small so make sure if you want to eat inside to get there not at the prime lunch rush, but it is always great to take to-go! read more

This is my absolute favorite sandwich place/salad place. It is the neatest concept of shoving a salad into a hollowed out bread. They serve up the freshest ingredients and have a friendly staff there to make sure everything is just how you want it. The tables are modern and simplistic and kept very clean. The whole place is very tidy and well managed. My favorite Zepplin is the Lonestar with Chicken. I love the extra kick the jalapenos give it. My favorite salad is the Atlantis. It' AAAAAmazing and I am not overselling this place. I don't think anyone could possibly be disappointed with their food. I do however, think their prices are a little steep. For my husband and I to go for lunch, it's about $25 for two drinks and two zepplins. Overall, go try this spot!!! It is definitely worth it and I think you will find yourself hooked like I am. read more

I was pretty pleased with my experience at Bread Zeppelin! We were headed to another restaurant next door for a quick dinner, but it was closed for repairs. We were about to drive out of the parking lot to find something else when we saw this little place. Looked reasonably new, and it was pretty quiet at about 6pm on a Monday. When you come in you quickly begin to realize that it really is a salad place, but you don't fully understand why they keep calling them "chopped salads" until you watch them make your order. They do a pretty good job on the menu of laying it out for you. You either select one of their pre-designed meals, or you make your own. You either have your salad in a bowl (larger) or have it as their signature "zeppelin", which is something like a bolillo with the inside scooped out. They are clear that it isn't a sub sandwich, but the effect is similar. It's a stuffed baguette. The menu is pretty exhaustive. The list of options is enormous, and the possibilities for making your own are pretty endless. There's a huge selection of toppings and dressings. I tried a pre-designed option, the southwest chicken zeppelin. My wife also had a zeppelin, but designed her own. They rapidly toast the bread while they pull together all your ingredients, then thoroughly chop everything up almost into a mash with the dressing, then stuff the bread. I guess it's still a salad, but it doesn't feel like it. The bread was delicious, very well done. The meal I ordered was affordable ($8) and reasonably filling. It's not fast-food affordable, but it's also a lot healthier and fresher than fast food. They have a good selection of greens to start with, including healthier ones (if they only offered iceberg this review would have gone down at least two stars). This meal would also be pretty easy and clean to take out and eat in the car if you're in a big hurry. I'll be back, I'm sure! read more

There are so many of these types of salad places opening up in the Dallas Area and I can think of two that I would rather go to, Snappy Salads and Salata. Good things... -The prices aren't too bad for the size of the salad you get. - Variety of ingredients to put on salad. - Staff was friendly - Good selection of chips! -I ordered the southwest salad with avocado ranch. The avocado ranch was not that tasty and I found myself shaking some salt on my salad to give it a little flavor. -It took 20 min from the moment I walked through the door to the moment I checked out at the register. Half my lunch period was gone by the time I got my food. I suggest getting here early during lunch. Not sure if you can order ahead since I did not see on their website. -Location- it is off to the side and hard to find if you are going on Hebron towards Plano. - They chop up everything which makes your salad mushy once they add the dressing. - Dining area is tiny. I will give this place another shot and try one of their bread zeppelins which is a huge salad stuffed inside a baquette. read more

The salads are fresh and you can order one built to your liking or one of their preset menu items. The staff was wonderful and allowed me to try a few of their favorite dressings, which was thoughtful! God I love this place. Fresh ingredients and delicious bread. I was pretty skeptical about eating a salad stuffed in a roll but man was I wrong! So good. My personal fav is the Shanghai w/ Chicken and definitely do get it with the Carrot-Ginger Lime dressing. Once again, my skepticism almost kept me from getting something delicious. With tons of salad places popping up on every corner ( including in this area) it can be easy to think " what is gonna be different? It's just another overpriced salad" but I would argue that this one is averagely priced and worth every penny, and maybe a few more. Pricing is much more in line with places like Subway ( $7-10 for a full loaded Salad or sandwich) which is NOT something I can say about Snappy Salads where I have/can easily spend like $15 on a salad just for myself..ouch. Tips: You can get the inside ( fluffy part) of your bread to snack on if you get the Zeppelin for free. The salads in a bowl are HUGE and totally able to be split into two meals. read more

The idea of this restaurant is genius! There are many salad options and the bread is delicious. I haven't had anything there I didn't like. My only complaint is the price. For a salad in a zeppelin and a drink was almost $15. A bit much for a quick lunch and not very much food. Also, the line from noon-1 is outrageous. Because it takes time to prepare each salad, it's not a fast moving line. I wish I would have known that before spending my entire lunch hour there. You wouldn't think that taking a salad and stuffing it inside a hunk of bread would be all that exciting, but this place is AWESOME. hands down, one of the best. My favorite is the Washington State, even just as a bowl it's stellar. If you get a zeppelin, you can ask for the inside of your bread and they'll wrap it up and let you have it - warm and soft. They have a ton of salads to choose from, or you can create your own by just telling them the ingredients you'd like in it - they have so many ingredients, so many options. They have seriously about 20 dressing options to choose from, even low-calorie/light options. My husband and I can go in there for dinner and get out for under $20, so it's a no brainer for us when we want something quick, healthy, and super yummy. I pop in a lot for a "healthy" alternative. Quick if you order ahead, but the line moves pretty quick if not. The Plymouth Rock and Washington state zeppelins are both excellent. They also carry an assortment of non-frito lay snacks (zapp's, Stacy's etc) and Topo Chico and La Croix water besides the usuals. Everything is freshly prepared and they are pretty well staffed whenever I have been in there. Just always check your order before you leave, little mistakes a number of times and they usually just throw in the extra sandwich. read more

Omg why has it taken me so long to try this?!! It's AMAZEBALLS You go in and they have pre-paired ingredients for their salads or you can build your own. Then they chop everything up, add dressing, and mix it up. Then you have a choice for a bowl (pretty large!!!) or Zeppelin, which is where they pull the middle out of a warm baguette and stuff it with the salad. It's soooooo good. Extremely disappointed! My family and I came here for dinner on 2/25 at 5:50PM. My son and I were here a few nights ago and loved the sandwiches. Tonight, the service was awful. I ordered the Nola and after the sandwich was 95% made, I was informed they were out of shrimp for the rest of the night. I asked for another sandwich (without meat) specifically to a young brown haired girl with glasses and was given a sandwich with chicken. They were extremely rude and said "we can pick the chicken out?". Unfortunately, We will never return. read more

After I left my review the manager reached out to me and apologized and explained that they were addressing the problem. I have gone back to this location 3 times over the past couple of months and all 3 times the restaurant has been busy and they had all food in stock. My food was excellent each time. I really like the food and I hope that my previous experiences were just growing pains for a new restaurant that have apparently been solved. I highly recommend trying this place if you haven't yet. The first time everything was great, the second time my order was good but my wife didn't get what she wanted because they were out of spinach. The 3rd and 4th times I waited in line, most recently for 15+ minutes, only to be told they were out of chicken. I left both times because I wanted chicken. I don't think the sandwich is as good as all the reviews claimed. Yes, it is such a unique dining concept, with chopped salad stuffed inside hollowed out homemade bread. However, the bread was very dry and salad was "meh"! I specifically asked for the inside of the bread on my online order and they never gave it to me. The portion is also really really small. To spend $13 for a sandwich (with no meat - any added proteins will be extra, ranging from an additional $2-$4) and a cup of soup, I do expect a good lunch portion. In brief, don't bother spending your money at this place unless you want a salad in a dried out hollow roll, just to be trendy and not care what food should really taste like. As far as sandwich places go, this is as good as it gets. The bread is divine, so no matter what salady concoction you stuff inside it, it's going to be delicious. I had the Pacific Beach with shrimp and balsamic vinaigrette, it was great. Not much on almosphere, and I had to wipe down my table, but I can let that slide. I'm definitely a fan! read more

I have been wanting to try this for a long time and I finally made it today. It was a disapppointment. My portion was heavy on the greens however the toppings were very skimpy. I felt completely ripped off. It did taste good but there was so little chicken, beets etc that I felt like I was eating a big bowl of greens. Salad, chips and drink was $13 + I go to other similiar concepts in the same price range and I have never been disappointed with any of them. Now I have one that I will avoid. The toppings were comparable to what you would get at Wendys for about 1/2 the price. Save your money and go there. PS The other similar salad places provide real utensils and bowls. Nope not here.
