Had dinner at True Food Kitchen on Mother's Day. The food was delicious and I really enjoyed the whipped ricotta appetizer. The Salmon is my favorite meal there. I love the atmosphere at True Food. It's casual but elegant in the best way. The servers are always attentive and the managers always stop by to make sure we have what we need. read more

In the heart of Legacy West this is the spot you are likely to find the healthiest options, but it will come at a cost. I have been a fan of True Food for a LONG time, but this most recent visit left me disappointed. The menu still offers many "healthy" options, but while the princes have gone up (to their credit everyone is raising prices) what really gets me is the portions have become so much smaller. My $25 Tuna Poke bowl was delicious, but was the size of an appetizer. I was still so hungry when I was done. I would have ordered a side or additional appetizer to fill me up but between my bowl and $15 margarita I was already looking at a bill close to $50! At the end of the day I give them 3.5 stars because the food is good, the food is fresh and they offer good gluten free | vegan | dairy free options. However, the drinks are weak and are mostly ice, the cost for the portions is so high and you'll likely leave hungry but spent over $50/person after all is said and done. I would eat at True Food again, but I probably wouldn't choose it as my first option. read more

We brought our large group here for dinner one night and while we were able to set up in a private room, it automatically created the need for us to have a special specialized menu with limited options to choose from. We had several people who had dietary restrictions and allergies and while they were able to find items to eat the limited menu option because of a large party did make it more challenging. We started with the hummus, cauliflower and dumplings. The cauliflower had some really good flavor to it, but the hummus was really good especially with that cracker like bread. For my main entrée I had the steak frites. The steak was cooked decently. I do wish there was a little bit more seasoning on it. The french fries were a miss for me as they are cooked in a fry cooker and just don't have the same flavor that regular fries too. I understand the concept for this place is healthy eating but the fries just didn't have that crunch to them and tasted soggy. Our server was delightful and I enjoyed how attentive she was. read more

Echoing Nosheen H.'s review - the hosting & table management here need serious attention. We had a reservation for 7 for a birthday. Despite the dining room being half empty, another group was seated before us, and staff gave us the runaround about our table being "prepared" when no one was actually working on it. It took firm pushing to get tables finally pushed together. Once seated, we sat for nearly 10 minutes without service until a waiter finally brought water. While the food was good enough to partly redeem the experience, you expect a basic threshold of service - especially in Legacy West. Frustrating experience for a special occasion. read more

Really love the freshness of the food here! I always feel healthy regardless of what I choose on the menu. The green juices are really good and I highly recommend the breakfast pizza! Servers are always really kind and the vibe is perfect for brunch. read more

We came here for early birthday dinner. Honestly not have thought of this place or not on my list to visit. They have a fairly decent Happy Hour menu, $3 off pizza and $5 proprietary wines. I opted for a glass of Pinot to sip on while waiting for our food. Also, they had us try one of their Kale Aid which was very refreshing. A great way to start a nice meal. Our table ordered a variety of dishes so we could have a bit of each other orders. We ordered the Chicken Parmesan, Ancient Grain Bowl, Margherita pizza (sourdough), and the All American Burger which all were enjoyed by our party. The dining area wasn't as busy when we got there but dinner rush crowd is starting to trickle in by the time we were leaving. This is a great place to get some "healthier" dishes if that's what you are into. Great alternative for diet restrictions that you may have when dining out. read more

When traveling for work you try your best to pick a place that is at least sort of healthy and tastes good - True Food for the hill on both accounts. Went with friends. We were told there is a waiting for 30-45 mins but we got a table after 1.5 hour. They knew we are with kids and we asked a few times as well but they didnt seem to care. We literally saw other sitted before us even they came after us. So even though food was great, the ambience was lovely, everything's so posh but the way you treat and welcome guests speak a lot to me and I therefore will think many times before I plan to visit this place again. I also get that it was a weekends and it gets busier but isn't that something you need to plan in advance? But yes, the food was A-one. Spicy parang curry bowl is just awesome! Pizzas were ok. Our friends tried burgers and other stuff and they were good too. read more

Healthy food should at least taste good. I had their "All American Burger" and could not eat all of it because it was tasteless. Probably one of the worst burgers I've had in a long time. Service was fine, but their air-fried french fries were also tasteless - ugh. read more

Stopped in on Saturday afternoon without a reservation and was seated almost immediately. A win for us even though there was a nice crowd of others already seated. We were quickly greeted by our server for the evening who took our drink orders and our entree selections soon after. The place was bustling with business but our server was very attentive and right on time. For this visit we decided to go with the ancient grains bowl and the tuna poke bowl. We added shrimp to both bowls and was pleased with the presentation and taste once they arrived to our table. We decided to grab desserts as well. I went with the sorbet and my partner in crime decided on the chocolate chip cookie a la mode. Both were very good and quite satisfying to our palates. (Sorry I forgot the pictures) I've been here a million times and I continue to return because farm to table is my jam and this place hits the spot every time! Kudos!! read more

Came for Happy Hour & Some, let me tell you we absolutely loved. True Food is not only healthy but super tasty, best of all No seed oils. Started with the sliders, they are beyond flavorful on a toasted ciabatta bread, caramelized onions and mushrooms. The Buffalo chicken tenders come with a super good homemade ranch. For our meal we had the pepperoni pizza and harvest salad, all fantastic. And to drink a delicious a refreshing Moscow mule. Definitely check this place out, the restaurant is esthetically nice with indoor and outdoor seating. The service is on point, our server Steel (Isaiah) was so attentive and super on top of everything. Come here if you want to eat healthy but also yummy. read more

After bad experiences at some of the other restaurants in this area, we went to true Food kitchen for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. I've been to true Food before, but it's been a while. I love that you can tell they prioritize health . Big fan of the seasonal menu . My husband ordered their grass fed burger and I got the chopped salad with grilled chicken. As a big fan of sweet and savory salads, this salad was delicious . The server was kind and the experience made me want to frequent their establishment more often . read more

Came to eat some tasty healthy food and wow this place didn't disappoint. Unfortunately the service was pretty slow but luckily the food made up for it. The meatloaf sliders were amazing. Paired with the buffalo chicken strips and wow that was good! The pepperoni pizza we ordered well done and it came out perfect. We accompanied that with the SZA CZA salad and that was good too. They don't cook with seed oils here so i'll be back to get my healthy grub on. read more

They don't split checks for large parties & when they're ready for you to leave, the server comes by and slowly clears the table including water glasses so you're left with nothing. The bathrooms were also out of toilet seat liners. The brunch menu is mid compared to the large array of options for lunch - skip this restaurant for breakfast or large gatherings! read more

True Food Kitchen is a great spot for more upscale healthy, colorful, and creative food. The restaurant itself is so bright and spacious, making for a very welcoming ambiance. Service is usually great as well! They offer seasonal dishes that incorporate veggies in season, which I find really cool! I love their edamame dumplings (the broth is so good, I could drink it!), the iced matcha horchata latte, kale salad, and burgers. They have a great veggie burger, along with a bunch of other dietary-friendly options. I would recommend True Food Kitchen to anyone - you are guaranteed to find something delicious that excites you off their menu! The entire Legacy West area is also a treat to walk around before or after your meal. read more

Starting with a very upscale setting in Frisco we were seated right away and the manager greeted us and assigned a fantastic server who had our drink order in before we could look at their excellent menu our server recommended the pepperoni sourdough pizza and boy was I happy she did from the first bite I thought I was back in Rome this is no domino's pizza ! The crust could be a main dish on its own . The tomato sauce was light and fresh made lower seasoning than I was expecting but seriously good big slices of mozzarella very lean pepperoni "Nice touch" and fresh basil this pizza was not at all greasy or oily. Cant wait to have it again ! My wife had the salmon nice portion on a thai vinaigrette puree very nicely done we added honey roasted carrots as a share and topped it off with a spicy margarita and a fabulous americano you will not be disappointed dining here on business or as in our case our Friday night date night read more

I LOVED the experience I had at this restaurant. Their pressed juices are great, there are so many different options on the menu, and CLEAN ingredients at reasonable prices. Our server was very attentive and it wasn't too crowded. We came for a lunch meeting so the atmosphere was perfect. I had their glass noddle bowl and we shared edamame and their hummus. The BEST hummus I've ever had. I will be back. read more

Came in with my wife and kids. Don't order a steak if everyone else at your table doesn't get one. They will cook all the other food first and leave it to sit and get ice cold while they wait for the steak to finish. Unbelievable for the cost. read more

I'm not one to complain. I actually tend to only leave reviews when I have something positive to say. But yikes this place is a money grab. Spent $90 dollars after tax and tip on two SMALL entrées and two drinks. The Tuna protein bowl I ordered was (aside from the price) actually very good! The gluten free buffalo chicken sandwich my fiance ordered though?? YIKES. It wasn't just subpar - everyone at the table took a bite and looked physically disgusted. From bun to chicken to sauce to fries, it was all one almost cold temperature (at best) temperature, it was like sand it was so dry, and worst of all, even the buffalo sauce was cold and flavorless. Not only that, but it was the size of a slider practically. Service was great, but yikes I will not be coming back - sky high prices for mediocre food (at best). read more

As someone who has been a true food fan for over 10 years, I was so disappointed eating there tonight. $20 for a seasonal salad with added tofu. The tofu itself was horrible.. bland, tough.. would not recommend. The salad tasted amazing but was TINY. I was shocked and bummed. My husband and I rarely go out for dinner and to feel like we wasted $100 on a mediocre dinner is upsetting. The only redeeming thing about the night was the service. It felt like our food took forever but we sat at the bar and the bartenders were all so kind and personable. In all honestly I'd save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Food and service was great, my friend and I ordered the salmon dish and the tuna bowl, respectively. My only thing is that the two hostesses working on 04/24 at 8:30pm were very off-putting, and didn't respond when we greeted them--they kind of just stared at us until I said we had a reservation. We were also sat in a dark corner outside at night, so it was very difficult to read the menu. We asked to change seats, but I don't think the hostesses told our server or the others inside because there was quite a bit of confusion. Other than that, food was great and we loved our waiter! read more

Finally got to try this place! I missed my opportunity in San Diego, and glad I was nearby to try the Plano location. The service was friendly, our waitress was great at giving us suggestions, and I appreciated that. The food is fresh, and tastes very healthy. Knocking off a Star, because service was slow due to possibly being low-staffed the day we came. No fault to our waitress, but this place might need a few more servers during busy hours. read more

My family and I have been to many True Food Kitchen restaurants and this one was a step above. The service is what really impressed us at this location. Our server Alanna a was absolutely awesome and she made sure my wife's and daughter's allergies were totally taken care of. When went well beyond what most restaurants do and made sure everything was safe from the ice in the drinks to the food! She checked on us multiple times and was extremely friendly! We will absolutely go back to this location just because of Alanna! Our food was delicious as well and I ordered Mama's meatloaf and my wife ordered the Turkey burger. We also ordered salads and the loaded fingerling potatoes. Everything was delicious and I was happy to see they offered one of my favorite wines, The Prisoner. We also loved the flowerless chocolate cake! Incredible service and delicious healthy food. Highly recommend! read more

True food kitchen has been my restaurant for the past 10 years. I used to go to the San Diego location and when I move to Dallas five years ago, I started eating at this location. The food is amazing. That's why I've been a loyal customer but more than that. It's the staff. Everybody is always warm and welcoming. I rarely ever have had an issue and the one time my food order was wrong. They promptly fixed the mistake and were so gracious about it. I'm especially impressed with a waitress name Alexis and a bartender name Isaiah. They are such a joy. read more

Met with a C-Level partner executive who chose this location. We met for a casual business lunch. The vibe was "young" yet appropriate for our meeting - casual, not loud, great wait staff. I got there early, my waitress was open to a slow turning table, never pressed us to order, she was super (wish I had taken down her name for a callout here). I am an avowed foodie but live in a small town were ethnic choices are limited. She recommended the Spicy Panang Curry Bowl, which I accepted with no hesitations. I must say, it was one of the most savory bowls I've ever had. It had a small kick which complimented the wonderful taste. The sweet potato and the vegetables were not mushy at all. The serving was more than I could consume. Oh, I should not forget the edamame dumplings he ordered for us to share. They were not overpowering in taste but a nice start to our lunch. I did not record what he ate but the bowl was clean at the end. I wish we had one of these close to us, I would be a regular. When I make it back to Dallas, I most certainly will go out of my way to make it back here. I highly recommend my business peers to consider this when in the area. read more

Sad sad Saturday choosing true foods on post mates. Japchae was way over cooked and flavor was terrible. Such an insult to even serve that and say it's a Korean dish. The elote flat bread looked so sad and small in a huge box. Waste of cardboard. Cauliflower was old tasting and limp Both pizzas beef bed bison and pepperoni covered in flowers left residue everywhere. The bread wasn't great Salad wasn't bad you can't really mess that up. The grass fed burrito with potatoes just yuck Haven't touched the ricotta mufffins yet but they look basic and nothing as pictured. True foods have lost their touch or a decent chef. read more
