I was drawn to this place because it was local and their Instagram page showcased gorgeous nails!! Boy do I wish I'd read these reviews BEFORE spending 6-months trying different nail technicians there. This place is extremely overpriced and I've never paid the same amount twice, which is a bit sketchy to me (and don't question their "prices" unless you're prepared to get a rude response). They charge you for EVERYTHING. They use all gel polish, mainly (I believe) so that they can charge you for it. I got charged to dab a little glitter on EVERY nail; at the end it was like $50+ for a fill and glitter when their pamphlet states a fill with gel is $22+ (that "+" will eat you alive). Oh, and don't ask for a basic pedicure because that's REALLY what you'll get...nothing. I still have dry skin and I just got my toes done yesterday.
I've never been to a more unprofessional place in my 16-years of getting my nails done. I'll say, the only reason I am looking for a new place is because my amazing nail salon of 12-years sold to a new owner and it wasn't the same (and I would drive 30-minutes to get there).
My first experience with just simple gel manicures wasn't too bad, except the nail technician was late EVERY TIME and blamed me for not letting her know I made an appointment; isn't that the job of your appointment guy that does nothing but make appointments and greet customers? My mistake, for a second I thought you all were running a business here.
Then, when I wanted to try acrylic I was sent to a different lady who didn't seem to know a whole lot about acrylics to begin with. So I researched Instagram and decided to try Destiny; she seemed to do nails more my style (and yet not too over-the-top like some of the other technicians). My first experience was positive; the next I happened to be running late. I got there 10-minutes into my appointment time and she'd started working on someone else. The front desk guy and her exchanged some words in their language before I see them move the girl to another station. I sit down and Destiny proceeds to chastise me for being late and not calling; slightly unprofessional in my opinion (granted yes, I was late but my last nail salon gave 15-minutes before moving on). The third appointment I had with her was just completely unprofessional. She was 20-minutes late, rudely asked "what do you want?" and when I showed her, she said "no, I'm not doing that because you won't like it." So when I asked for suggestions she ignored me, proceeded to paint my toes and although I asked for a design she continued to put clear polish over the top and sent me to her nail station (NO design). Then when I asked if she had a gel color to match the toe polish I'd brought in she rudely responded "you have all the colors right in front of you; if you don't see it, we don't have it." She then got huffy when I asked her to cut my nails down (which I'm sure she also charged me for) and was extremely rough with my hands.
I'm a mother of two with very little time to myself. So, naturally, every 3-weeks I look forward to this spa time and getting pampered. Well, if that's what you're looking for DO NOT GO HERE. I couldn't get out of there fast enough and will NEVER go back. read more
