I can't believe I haven't left a review on this place yet. I've been coming to Josephine Nails for about two and a half years now. Thai is my GIRL for my nails. She is funny and friendly, but also direct and assertive. I love that. Plus, she does excellent work. I typically go in with a pretty specific idea of what I want, and she is happy to accommodate as long as you don't waste her time making her do things over and over again. I have a problem with chronic ingrown toenails (gross, sorry), and this place is also one of the only places that ACTUALLY FIXES THEM. Seriously, I can't tell you how much I appreciate their skill. I usually see Thai and Vu, but I've also seen Tiffany and several other artists, and I've honestly never gotten a bad manicure or pedicure here in the time I've been coming. came in to get my nails done and the man looked at the lady to help me, she then looked me, looked back at him, then was rudely told "we don't have time" met with silence. had to ASK for a time before they actually gave me a proper time to come back. extremely disappointed by what felt like immediate judgement and attitude. read more

I'm disappointed after hearing what my wife had to endure today. The father was not the nicest person. Matter of fact, from what I hear. He was just super grumpy. So my wife requested a different person, and I guess the whole family heard and gave my wife the cold shoulder and some not so kind words. Oh well, my wife will go elsewhere with her business. It's okay, maybe they weren't having a good day. Maybe they are good people? My wife kept her cool and didn't bite back. Sorry. Not a complainer. But this was my only way to vent. I took my 11 yr old daughter for a manicure. (Which we all know that an 11 yr old basically just gets just the nails filed, a little brush and buff here and then color). But I am not sure if the older nail tech was aware that my daughter is 11... so I came up and told him... my daughter is only 11 and to not remove the cuticle and to just file and brush. He argued my ear off about not calling it a manicure for next time because blah blah blah. I said OK. (Because I can't handle the nagging from him). After he did my daughter's nails. He asked how the payment would be. I said cash. He charged $15, and I gave him a $10 tip (hoping he will not nag again). Oh I was wrong!!! He started to yap again about the difference between a manicure and just painting the nails blah blah blah. I told him we were just visiting Redlands and we have a lady we always go to and she knows what to do when I take my daughter.... Oh... this man argued his way up until my daughter and I left the nail salon.... Lesson learned for me.... don't take your 11 yr old daughter to an unfamiliar nail salon... period. I was looking for a good, cheap place to get my nails done for a banquet I would be going to the next day. I made an appointment the day before & they could take me but I heard a phone call of someone trying to make an appointment in 30 mins so their service is pretty quick & you don't have to wait too long. The color options are very plentiful for both gel & regular. I was looking for a mauve color & I had many to chose from. The best part is that they had half-pricing, which is just without the massage. Sometimes I'm in a rush so it isn't necessary for me to have the full manicure so I liked that I had the option to chose. Their prices are overall really good and I'm very happy with this place. The only thing is that they didn't over me water or anything like other nail salons that I have been to have. I didn't ask for it so maybe they have the option but I wasn't offered. But the location is great because you could easily pick up food from cheesewalla or a la minute since it is in downtown redlands, which is a big plus for me. But with DTR, there isn't much parking which could be a problem for some people but the parking structure isn't that far of a walk. First time here. First thing the location is nice, everything here in downtown Redlands is beautiful. There's so much to around. Well my mom and I walked in, and lucky for us there was only one person. So we were seen right away. We both got a pedi and mani. There was one lady worker who talked a lot lol but she was friendly and kept conversation with the person she was working with. The man who did my nails was nice as well and made conversation. Overall I'm satisfied with the place. It's a little small, but They do have a good nail polish selection. The pricing is good. Our nails came out very pretty. Will mostly return here. :) read more

I went to get gel acrylics and they did good for a little while and then it started to go downhill. I asked them to cut my nails shorter but they didn't. And they kept moving my hands vigorously and it was very uncomfortable. It was very unpleasant when they added gel to my nail to add the gems and they didn't use a new toothpick. I could tell cause after the gel was applied she just wiped off the excess gel and put it back in the container. Also one of the employees got aggravated when we asked him to shorten the nails. They ended up looking good but some paint chipped after 15 minutes. They also put my gems on using a white crayola crayon which I thought was unusual. One last thing is two of my gems fell off after less than 24 hours. read more

Wonderfully suprised! I came into this place to get my first fill on a set of gel nails I got 2.5 weeks ago. The wait was a little long as there were only two women working. Tiffany did my fill, she was really nice and pleasant. She worked quickly and I was actually quite suprised at how much better she made my nails look! She gave them a much better shape, made them the perfect length and did a great job with the gel fill. This will be the only place I go to from now on. I hate being a complainer but i like to share what happened so potential customers can be forewarned. Affordable, but you get what you pay for. I went in because i saw the pictures of the beautiful nails and positive reviews. Nails aren't the worst I've had, but definitely not the best. A couple nails are uneven. Making my fingers look deformed. Polish job is patchy. Unfortunately i didn't notice until i got home because i was in a rush. (My fault) i guess only thai and Vivian do a good job? According to reviews. I believe Vivian doesn't even work there anymore since her instagram says she works in Moreno Valley. Unfortunately thai was busy. I wish i would have waited. I had an older man do my manicure, i do not recommend. pedicure is absolutely terrible. I get a pedicure every three weeks, I'm never getting a pedicure here again. I've NEVER had polish do that. I wore sandals for three hours after and the pedi & polish 100% looked fine. Came home from work and it was all messed up. Polish shouldn't take hours to set.... read more

Vivian did an acrylic full set on me with an oval shape and full nail polish. She did an excellent job and turned my nails into beauties! The price was cheap but the quality was high. I've been here 3 times thinking "next time will be better" .. first time i got a pedicure and the lady, i don't know her name, cut my skin open and it got infected. Second time I got a full set and another lady cut my cuticles open with the drill or saw thing. And this 3rd AND LAST TIME the lady was rough, extra rough, and I got my nails done yesterday and two of my GEL NAILS are lifted and coming off. I've never had this issue with gel polish. I wanted to love this place unfortunately that was not the case. I came in for an ombré full set and left with a nude gel over the botched ombré. There was a mix up in the powders at the salon. The ombre was more like a messy pink and white set, the pink did not fade into the white at all. The nail tech attempted to fix it and charged me only half price. While I appreciate her attempt to correct the mistake my nails still look like a week to two week set. The acrylic isn't all the way up the nail bed, the polish is blotchy and super thick. This was my first time at Josephine's. Everyone from school goes here so I thought I'd give it a try. All of the tools had been used on previous customers and weren't new/ freshly sterilized. Also the man doing my nails was too into the show playing on the TVs to even pay attention. I was given an awkward elbow massage while he watch tv the whole time. There were also multiple times where he just sat there holding my hands while watching the show. When it finally came time for the polish he only did one coat of polish and they look terrible!!
