Jonathon Passic helped my Dad and I find the perfect boots! My Dad is eighty-seven years old, and Jonathon was amazingly patient and focused on helping him to understand and get the exact size for his feet. Jonathan even helped us find orthotics. Came with my boyfriend for him to pick up nonslip work shoes. Would've taken about five minutes if the pushy sales associate (manager I'm assuming) didn't insist we try and buy the $50 insoles. She was training another associate so we were sympathetic to why it was taking a little longer. When the trainee went to check us out it took almost 15 minutes because she didn't know how to properly checkout using the voucher. The manager had to step in and solve the issue after another associate tried helping. Didn't like how pushy the manager was on getting a sale otherwise it would've been a five star review. Good selection and the other associates were friendly however I noticed they did take quite some time to greet other customers. read more

Boot World has been around forever. There's a reason for that. They have everything you need, the prices are fair and the people are great at helping you out. If I could give them no stars I would. Spent 45 minutes in the store before anyone even looked at me. I found a pair of Uggs I liked and had to ask 3 different sales people if they could check other stores for the right size. They finally came back and shouted a store in Orange County at me then walked away. I was in the kid section for another 30 minutes before I found the pair I liked. Spent $198 for kids Uggs in my size and guess what folks.... they were FAKE AF!! I wore them for maybe 3 months during winter here in SD. Smothered the crap out of them in the waterproof spray. Never got them wet, put boot stretchers in them every night so they held their shape....in less than 6 months they were fading and falling apart at the stitching. I had NO IDEA I would ever be ripped off from a place like Boot World! Never even crossed my mind. I purposefully purchased from them instead of online because I didn't want to be ripped off. Now that I realize my boots are fake, I look at the Uggs closer and see that the labels on the back are crooked!! The insoles won't come out, there is glue around the sole which is already worn down less than 6 months after purchase, they have pill fuzz on them, the wool liner is crooked with only one side fluffy and not both. I don't know why or how I hadn't seen this before! Probably because I trusted their HUGE sign on the window that said 100% real Ugg Boots!! Liars & Crooks is what they are $! read more

I just bought work boots from this store and I thought the service was great. The sales person stayed with me the entire time. The manager also came over to make sure everything was going smoothly. Perhaps they read the negative reviews and took it to heart. Whatever the case, I had no complaints. The limited selection is the only reason I wouldn't give it five stars. If you expect to have a huge selection, you probably need to find a bigger store. read more

Customer service was A+. I was almost immediately helped out by Melissa Leeper who was able to find me the perfect pair of Doc Martens. I wear a size 14 and need a wide toe box so shoes can be hard to find. Once I was satisfied with my shoes, Jonathon Passic suggested adding SuperFeet Blues to improve my arches. I wish I could give a lower rating, I had the worst customer service I have ever had at this store. I was left alone and ignored while countless others received help from the staff. I swear at one point a sales lady was walking to me and asked if I needed something when the door opened and a new customer started to enter She changed course and help Him as he came in the door. I was there 30 minutes putting up with this before I complained to a salesman and left. It's not like I was looking around and residing, I was standing there with a display timberland pro boot in my hand trying to get someone to get my size. I know you think they were really busy Huh? Nope only like 4 people in the store. I went across the street to Boot barn and left in less than 5 minutes with boots I wanted in my size and the lady of there that helped me gave me a discount when I told her about the crappy service i got from her competitor. Today, my mother and I went to the Boot World store located in 700 N Johnson Ave, El Cajon, CA 92020 to help her choose some work boots and get some for myself. As we enter the store, a gentleman was in front of us and that gentleman immediately got greeted and asked if he needed any help by a sales associate, which I later found out the sales' associate's name is Johnny, or so does his badge say it is, meanwhile me and my mom got ignored, which I would understand if the store was busy but there where only two other customers at the most. Me and my mom start looking around when another customer starts to engage in a conversation with my mother, mind you, we are both standing in the same area, when a gentleman walks up to the other lady and starts helping her out, but he doesn't asks us if we need help at any time. We try to finish our shopping and I look around to ask for help to see if I can get the same shoe as my mom but in a different size for me and that's when I see Johnny make eye contact, he looks away, and decides to ignore me. I decide to give it a pass once again. As we get to the register, I see Johnny helping the same customer out and I see another clerk there. We are standing in line assuming that the customer is paying for his items when I hear a very loud, rude, and condescending voice ask my mother if she needs any help, I answer Johnny, that all we want to do is pay, and he answers back "well, I thought you might need a shoe in a different size, because this is what this store does too, you know, carry different sizes" I honestly couldn't understand why he would even asks us such question like that or answer so rudely when we haven't done anything wrong, except want to BUY shoes. At that point I am so bothered by the route he has taken with us that I just decide to ignore his rudeness and never come back again. The other sales clerk, Lucero, starts asking for my information such as telephone number, name and e-mail address and who helped us which I answer "nobody" and all she says is "oh", I have decided by that point that Boot World's sales associates are rude and have no education or a slight clue of professionalism whatsoever but I still decide it's probably a lack of employee training. Then Lucero proceeds to call my mom "Irma" because she saw a tag with that name around her work area and assumes since my mother is of Hispanic descent that is her name. That really bothered me, as an interested customer of Boot World I felt so disrespected and stereotyped by your employees, I correct her and she doesn't even apologize which lead me to write this very angry letter. I wanted to be a customer to Boot World and was planning on buying some shoes that day, but since Johnny didn't help me out you guys lost a sale that day and a future one in two weeks where I was planning to buy some hiking shoes for me, my mother, brother and sister (we loved to hike) (that's 500 + dollars in total). The look Johnny gave my mom and I of disgust, the condescending treatment, the fact that we were ignored and then your employees acknowledged the fact that we were ignored and didn't even try to fix it, and being called another Hispanic name based on our looks really angers me. read more

I was shopping for a new pair of work boots for my new job. My boyfriend and I stopped at Boot World where were greeted Michael. He asked what we were looking for and proceeded to show us his recommendations and explained the features and explained how they pertained to my needs. We said we'd come back another time and left the store feeling better about the whole experience. When we went back to the store Michael was there and recognized us immediately. He got right to work setting us up with the boots we wanted and he recommended some inserts as well. He put the inserts in and had me try them out. He was so friendly and knowledgeable I thought for sure he must be on commission. When he told me they were not paid commissions I was truly impressed with the service we got. I ended up buying the boots and the inserts and I couldn't be happier. Retail stores need more associates like Michael. I won't be buying boots anywhere else. read more

I don't go to Boot World for impeccable service. It's in El Cajon. I go for the Uggs. This year I bought a pair "on sale" for $209. After the Christmas rush. I got home and checked the Uggs website and found the official sale price to be $169. I called the store manager and asked for him to match the price I found. Guess what he said. "Bring them in and I'll adjust the price." No nonsense or rudeness or trickery. He politely did the right thing, not knowing I'd Yelp his reaction. I will continue to shop here. read more

I went to boot world in El Cajon today to buy some new work boots for work. I was luckily helped by a man named Jonathon Passic. This man more than helped me with all my needs. He actually took the time to find out the line of work I'm in and helped me find the best suited boot. Just from measuring my foot he could tell one of my feet arch was starting to stretch and cause me pain,which it was for the past year, he then set me up with soles for my shoes to help me with these issues. He also set me up with a night wrap to wear to help relieve the soreness when I first wake up which so far has worked amazing. I would highly recommend this place and mainly this single gentleman Jonathon Passic. Anyone would greatly appreciate the service I got when coming here.
