Customer Service A++ I was advised by my doctor to obtain inserts for my painful plantar fasciitis condition, so yesterday, 8/12/17, I went to Boot World. Jon was GREAT! He was very knowledgeable and took the time to assess my feet and recommend the correct inserts for my arch type and even MORE importantly recommended a plantar fasciitis sleeve for my painful foot to sleep in. He explained it would be helpful to stabilize the foot in the correct position for a couple reasons. I was skeptical but got it (and the inserts) and wore the sleeve last night. Omg! My pain improved a dramatic 80% over night! At the risk of being over the top, getting that much pain relief so quickly is life changing. I found myself slowly stepping out of bed, favoring the good foot waiting for the first worse pains of the day and waiting and waiting.... but Surprise! It was almost all gone. It's been roughly one week since I've purchased my Dansko shoes from this location. Daniel, the man that helped me with my purchase was amazing. I went to this location after having gone to the location on Palomar. The Palomar location not only had horrible customer service, but they did not have the size I needed. Daniel was really welcoming and listened to me. My concern was purchasing such an expensive pair of shoes for work and then having issues with them. He reassured me that he would be glad to exchange the shoes if I was not satisfied with them after using them for a couple of days. Well, my feet do not hurt after working 12hr shifts. I work at Jerome's which requires me to wear steel toe boots. I bought a pair of KEEN work boots. They are American made, extremely comfortable. Usually you have to break in a pair of boots and your feet pay for it with soreness that can last for weeks and makes you have an agonizing day on your feet. Not these boots. From day one, your feet are comfy and it feels like you are walking on air. They have slip resistant soles so if you happen to walk through a puddle of water, you will not slip. I recommend KEEN for maximum comfort. read more

As a guy who wears heavy duty footwear consistently for work and r&r ive noticed that this particular location of boot world has the biggest selection of heavy duty foot gear. The other stores have about half as much stuff for some reason. Today I was compelled to write a review after receiving outstanding service from employee Giselle and the staff at boot world El Cajon! A few months ago I spent a pretty good chunk of change on a decent pair of hiking boots, as one should, only to notice that the durability was not up to par with the claims made by the shoe company. Basically after only a couple months of regular use, they were falling apart and I didn't feel like I got my money's worth. I took them back and was blown away by Giselle's service and the fact that they took them back no questions asked and credited me towards a new pair, so I decided to go with a brand that I have more experience with and trust more. It was simple, quick, painless and I didn't even need a receipt since they took my number down and were able to confirm my purchase on their computers. I recently bought some boots, and i was in the impression that boot world sold high quality products. Not even one month later they tore in a way that the material look super low end quality and this wasn't even excessive usage. So i went back and see if they could help me out to check if there was warranty for defected products. But they didn't show any sign of interest in helping me. I am disappointed in a place that I frequently shop at. I will do my shopping at the swap meet from now on because I will end up getting the same result in product quality and customer service. read more

Wow, I read the poor reviews and almost didn't come here. I needed some steel toe boots for working on the property after a trip to the ER, but I know little about boots. The young salesman was prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and steered me to what I needed. He was aware that I didn't want to break the bank on paying for a pair of work boots, and gave me several suggestions. He didn't know the answer to several of my questions , but asked his manager to find out. Very proactive and positive. Thank God he was not a BS type of know-it-all salesman. If Brody is there (hope I got the name right) I'm sure you will get good help. The selection was pretty large, the store clean, and the help was good. Perhaps they could be a bit lower on the prices, but I'm not gonna complain. Hands down the best shoe service I've had, ever. read more

I come here every year at Christmas time to buy uggs for my kids. These boots are not cheap. I usually spend close to $500 in that one visit. Today there were four people working and only one man was helpful and this was after I tracked him down. The two women and one tall young man were borderline rude and acted as if I was a bother to them. I'm going to check out the boot store across the street and I might return these boots I just bought. Poop kickers, Came in to see what their selection on Cowboy boots for women were. There were five boots there and they were all cheesy! I am truly disappointed. Jon was fantastic! I left with a very memorable impression I was beyond impressed with his calm and personable attitude. On my first visit I came in to buy a pair of work shoes and the first pair I purchased were a quick recommendation from a gal helping me. They were a ballet type flat and SOOOO UNCOMFORTABLE! I have been going here for many years to buy my son insoles, we have always had great experiences. We came in the night before last for insoles, we had to wait a couple minutes as all the sales associates were helping other customers. As soon as she was finished BROOKE came over to help. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, we determined he needed another type in insole which supported my sons foot much better. Let me start this off by saying the salesman Austin castellanos is the man! I got a new job which required I get some boots and my workplace provided a voucher here. I hate shopping for anything but he made the experience fast, friendly and I can't thank him enough for it. I couldn't get the boots I wanted but he recommended me a pair 10x better. I had been all over the place looking for steel toe boots for women. No one carried them. I called a head and they said they had some, so I got there and the place was pretty busy. But I got help right away, the guy was polite, yet subtly funny. Hey was very prompt bringing the shoes out, even in a couple various sizes. He told me if I needed to get them stretched I could come back. Sure enough, I needed them stretched. He remembered me, and since I had worn them to work already, he was even kind of enough to wipe them down again for me. He knew I had been shopping around, and he even helped to find me 10% off. And when i was sitting down waiting for my boots to be stretched, other employees kept making sure I had been helped or was ok. read more

Jonathon Passic helped my Dad and I find the perfect boots! My Dad is eighty-seven years old, and Jonathon was amazingly patient and focused on helping him to understand and get the exact size for his feet. Jonathan even helped us find orthotics. Came with my boyfriend for him to pick up nonslip work shoes. Would've taken about five minutes if the pushy sales associate (manager I'm assuming) didn't insist we try and buy the $50 insoles. She was training another associate so we were sympathetic to why it was taking a little longer. When the trainee went to check us out it took almost 15 minutes because she didn't know how to properly checkout using the voucher. The manager had to step in and solve the issue after another associate tried helping. Didn't like how pushy the manager was on getting a sale otherwise it would've been a five star review. Good selection and the other associates were friendly however I noticed they did take quite some time to greet other customers. read more
