Reconnecting with this amazing bakery was a treat! I've been to Paris before and this place has by far the best, most buttery, flakey, and delicious chocolate croissants I've had in the area. Unique scones and muffins, fresh loafs of bread and I've heard excellent lunch items too. They use high quality ingredients and you can taste the difference! Boosalis where have you been all my life?! I came here the other day and I'm already in the mood for an order of the kouign-amann everyone else raves about. I could literally eat these small but filling, buttery, sugary, flaky pieces of heaven all day. I was only gonna get a few things but ended up spending 50 bucks pretty quickly. The cookies.. great. Pastries.. great.. he even brought out some new bacon bread pudding dish right out of the oven and i had to get it. I mean.. he did say bacon. It was fantastic. I also got a few sandwiches.. a breakfast and an egg salad. Both were excellent. I really can't think of a single bad thing to say. Scrumptious selection of pastries and sandwiches . Always enjoy their kouign amanns (easily purchasing 20 or more at each visit) as well as their ham and cheese croissants. Consistently delicious every time . The owner is kind and generous and they are always busy. I'm a bit sad that they close at 4:00 however they always seem to sell out of most items around that time anyways so I guess this makes sense. I've read that the owner has won awards for being the best baker in Ohio and I can say that while they may not be the best pastries we've ever had but will most certainly continue to frequent this bakery for the service and their delicious treats!! read more

They have great tasting pastries/baked goods all displayed at the register. Love the coffee, it's a rich dark roast, great flavor. While we were there we noticed a steady line of customers, so obviously people love this place. You order your food, sit down & they bring it out to you. My only constructive criticisms is that I feel they need to have little signs by each of their pastries with the name & price of each. This would help make the ordering process go a lot faster because there is only one register. I noticed the two people in front of me were asking what each pastry was & while sitting waiting for my food many others in the line continued to ask. I visited for the first time a few days ago. I was going on a trip to visit family and wanted to take a few treats along. The staff was incredibly friendly. The gentleman who waited on me took the time to explain their pastries to me and even gave me a sample of one. It was hard to choose, but I knew I had limited space in my bag, so I ended up choosing the European coffee cake, a bear claw, chocolate croissants and the Kouign-Amann. Even after a plane ride, everything was superb. You can taste the quality ingredients and care taken preparing and baking each item. I plan to return to have lunch and try other items. This is another absolute local gem. I tell everybody that comes to Dayton that they must go. There kiegon aman (sp?) is to die for. It is basically a mildly sweetened croissant that is baked to perfection. I could eat a million of them. I also ventured out and tried their monkey bread. As luck would have it, I was hungry this morning. On my way back from dropping my son at school, I brought up my iOS Maps and requested local eateries for breakfast. Boosalis was the first hit - and had incredible reviews (stars). I had seen the location in the Crosspointe shopping center but assumed it was a 'cakery' for the highbrow types of Centerville. Not interested. I had an errand to run and during that time I read a few of the reviews. They were glowing. But not just glowing, but sincere. Honesty that comes through a review is pretty special since it means someone has taken valuable time out of their day to say something nice about their neighborhood shops. I stopped in for...well I didn't know. I perused the small display counter while Matt, the owner, sliced up a sample of the croissant and cinnamon bun. I waved the gentleman behind me to move up as I continued to eyeball the offerings. The small bite of the croissant simply exploded in my mouth. The layers could be individually felt and their crispness indicated something fresher than fresh. I was instantly transported to an old world Dutch bakery in Pella Iowa called Jaarsma whose Dutch Letters were an annual delicacy during my formative years. I hastily ordered two pasteries: a bear claw and sticky bun. I wasn't able to eat both at once so I started with the bear claw. Again, it was the incredible 81? layers within that feathered past my lips and down the chute, as it were. Will I return? Yes - absolutely. I couldn't imagine passing them up ever again. read more

I'm always a fan of family-owned, small, local businesses. Unless they suck. Luckily for all of us, this one does not! I often take treats to my accounts to say thanks for their business, and I look for higher quality, unique products, rather than just the run-of-the-mill box of donuts. I stumbled onto Boosalis when I needed some cookies for a special group. So I stopped in and was blown away by the customer service provided by Matt and his team. Not only did they pump me full of samples, so I would know what I was taking to my clients, but they gave me the full run-down on how else they could help me for luncheons and training sessions. This week, I used them for a small luncheon, and I was tickled with the results. I ordered a day ahead using their online ordering system, and as requested, they called me to confirm that they received my order and that everything was correct. I got there 15 minutes before I was scheduled, and they were just putting the finishing touches on my order - not too early and not running behind. Matt carried the tray out to my car, and as I was leaving, he asked where I was headed. When I told him where, he made sure to tell me that they would be happy to deliver to local places for me, so I didn't have to take the time to pick up my food. In sales, delivery service is a godsend! The food itself is something else. Croissants are the crispiest, flakiest ones you'll ever eat. I'm used to the soft Costco-like variety. These are phenomenal. Each boxed lunch comes with fresh fruit (cuties in my bags!), bottled water or soda, and a cookie. I believe that most of the world's problems can be solved by sharing cookies. They're fresh and baked perfectly. I am head over heels for the Ginger Molasses Cookies! I got great feedback from my lunch group on the food and will absolutely be using the boxed lunch plan again for future meetings. Kudos to the owners and staff at Boosalis. Boosalis Baking and Café is great! We've tried both the lunch here as well as their baked goods. In regards to their baked goods, listen to what they say. Get the Kouign-Amann! It's their most popular for a reason. Because it's so tasty! Think of it like a nice flaky on the outside croissant that's slightly sweetened but also soft and chewy on the inside. I asked my husband to buy me one, but he bought two. One for each of us. I ate mine and took a bite out of his. LOL I was looking forwards to also getting a blueberry and cheese Danish but they were all out by the time we got there. So, we got one of the other fruit danishes. It was good, but not as good as the Kouign-Amann. In regards to their sandwiches. Well, just them being a bakery lets you know that the bread they use for these sandwiches will be legit. We ordered an egg salad sandwich which came on 9 grain bread and a roast beef sandwich which came on a milk bread. You could say that you can make these sandwiches at home. Which, really.. you can. But their breads were so fresh, it just made the whole sandwich taste better. We made the sandwiches into a lunch box combo so we also got cookies, drink, and a fruit salad. The fruit salad was just canned mandarin oranges in its own condiment container. But you could also choose from Potato Chips, Orzo Salad, or a serving of Yogurt. For the cookies you could choose from Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal, Peanut Butter, Ginger-Molasses. We got one oatmeal and one peanut butter cookies. Both cookies were good!
