We arrived late morning, so wait was about 45 minutes. They took our name, party size and a phone number to call us when table was ready, and said we were welcome to wait in our car as well. We took a menu and looked it over while we waites. The desk staff was all very courteous and polite. All very professional in attire and behavior. The chef came out at some point to pass out little chocolate chip / m&m muffins. He was so cheerful! Our waiter, Nick, was fabulous. He was spot on. He took our order making us feel like we had his time and he was not in a hurry. Our drinks were frequently refreshed during our visit. He checked in at perfect intervals and never forgot our request (whether it was crayons or an extra cup). The food arrived timely, despite how busy it was. Tater tots ans chicken for my daughter was perfect lly crunch, moist and not greasy feeling. Husbands scramble eggs were perfectly fluffy. My over easy, as it should. I really enjoyed the restaurant in Bellbrook, and have been to this location twice. The first time was fine, sitting in a booth, good food. This time they put us a tiny table for two, where we almost sat on the peoples laps sitting at the table next to us. There's so much shit on the table like Jelly, 5 pounds of sugar and "stuff", that we couldn't get the plates on the table. There's so much violation of personal space at these crappy tables. On either side of us, as the server took other tables orders, we enjoyed the server's ass in our face. We were almost sitting with the people next to us, it was ridiculous. The servers run around frantically, forgetting things like extra butter (twice), and dropping trays of water as they try to keep up. They're obviously overloaded, while four teenagers lean on the counters at the front ready to cram more people into tiny spaces and keep the pandemonium going. It looks like they giving heaping helpings of everything. Piles of hash browns, a humongous pancake, and the gravy flows like wine. These are all cheap-ass ingredients. Tiny eggs, tiny pieces of bacon, and quarter sized pieces of sausage. It was such a crappy experience, it will be months before I even think about it. We have been wanting to visit the Kettering location of Blueberry Cafe since it opened a year and a half ago! We really like the Bellbrook cafe so were certain we would like their second location as well. We arrived at noon on a Wednesday, surprised to see a full lobby of people waiting for tables. The hostess told us it would be a 30 minute wait but actually it turned out to be less than half that! We were seated and waited a few minutes for someone to come by. Our server must have had his hands full so someone else stopped by and asked for our drink order and told us our server would be by shortly. I appreciated they way the staff helped each other out like that. Our server was very friendly and took good care of us. We placed our orders and a few minutes later, he came back to let me know they were out of the special that I ordered. I was a little disappointed but what I ordered turned out to be delicious! I ordered the New York Style French Toast Platter. Oh my, it was huge! Two large slices of french toast, eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns! I ended up taking home leftovers and eating them for dinner. Even though they were busy, the tables were spread out enough that it wasn't loud like some breakfast restaurants tend to be. The decor was nice and I really appreciated the live plants in the windows. One extra shoutout to the owner of Blueberry Cafe. Loaded potato omelette with shredded hash browns and marble rye toast was delicious. One of four omelettes, not including a 'make your own' option - cones with hash browns and your choice of toast. This omelette came with potato, green onion, bacon, and cheddar cheese with a green onion -ranch sour cream. Marvelous. The hash browns ate lightly seasoned and the perfect combination of crispy and creamy. Wonderful. The marble rye is a thick sliced variety, lightly toasted with a smear of creamy butter. Perfect. The Cowboy Bennie platter is a perfect Americanized version of Eggs Benedict. A fluffy biscuit, lightly toasted and topped with a sausage patty, fried egg, and sausage gravy. It was served on a bed of hashbrowns. The biscuit was fluffy and perfect. The sausage patty and sausage gravy were seasoned perfectly and between the two of us - left none of this behind The service is excellent. The portions are very large. First time in this location. We went on a Wednesday around lunch time and had about a 20 minute wait. Once seated the service was very prompt and courteous. I opted for a combo platter. Sometimes I'm very disappointed about the price and food quality. This restaurant has been around for several years and I see why. We called in an order because the restaurant usually has an hour plus wait for a table. My boyfriend had the pancakes platter and I had the French toast platter. The only negative is that we had to pay an extra $3 for chicken sausage. I think it's unfair I have to pay more because I don't eat pork. Other than that the food was amazing. We had a good time here. Called on short notice for a family get together. Presents exchange and stuff. They took a reservation and we were able to get a spot. When we arrived, and most of the party was there, they seated us. It's a great little environment. It's like what IHOP was near its peak. They had attentive servers. Their people new menu. First time at the new(ish) Dixie location did not disappoint! Super cute, modern vibrant blue decor. We went in on a weekday and still had to wait about 15 min but it was well worth it. The pancakes are insanely massive, fluffy and delicious. We also got a specialty cordon blue omelet and it was super unique, one of the tastiest omelets I've had recently! Our waiter was the best. Food and service didn't disappoint- definitely one of the best breakfasts in town. Between the two of us, everything we ordered was great: waffles, eggs, biscuits and gravy, etc. Boston Stoker coffee is a plus. Service was super friendly and efficient, and our food came quickly. The only problem are the wait times. I get they can't help the restaurant is popular, but I can't help but think there would be a solution that offered more seating (more two tops or counter seating) that would help reduce the wait. As a breakfast connoisseur, I had to check out the new Blueberry Cafe in the new Kettering location where the famous Golden Nugget used to be. We have been to their location in Bellbrook in 2021 and it was a great breakfast. With this place being new, and the only good breakfast place in the area, the wait times are crazy. I recommend using doing the 30-minute call ahead. Even with our call ahead, we had to wait about 35 minutes after checking in. The hostess said they would call us when our table was ready but never received a call. We called back and were told they tried to call, but to come in and we would be seated next. The restaurant has been completely remodeled on the inside with new booths, table tops, and lighting. The booths are very roomy. The coffee is from Boston Stoker and they offer a couple of different flavors. The menu offerings are your typical breakfast staples. Pancakes, French toast, eggs, Belgian waffles, omelets, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, biscuits and gravy, etc. The Muffin Man makes his famous muffins. They aren't on the menu. You just ask your waiter or waitress about them and they tell you what he made. We tried a maple, brown sugar, banana nut muffin, and a Reeses Peanut Butter muffin. All in all, would recommend it to anyone that wants a good breakfast. However, other than the famous muffins, the breakfast offerings are similar to what you can get at other great independent breakfast places in the area like Sam & Ethel's in Tipp City, & George's in Dayton, Ohio. The wait is always worth it, and despite slightly increased prices since they've opened the Kettering location and are expanding the Bellbrook location, the portion sizes are still huge.
