Great little breakfast and lunch place. This is located just outside the mall. A really cool interior very comfortable very relaxed. Small but seated a number of people. We came for breakfast and we're not disappointed. We were graded nicely at the front taking quickly to a table, and our waitress was very helpful throughout took care of us quickly came to check on us a few times and made sure we were happy. The food was great. I had French toast. It was excellent, thick, upscale, with a fruit compote and a fresh squeezed orange juice to drink. My daughter had something called the power rat which is a breakfast wrap and she said it was fantastic. It also came with a bowl of fruit and she had a Mimosa to drink as well. Everything there was upscale, high-quality food, a great atmosphere and the price wasn't super expensive for this type of place. I would highly recommend. read more

Well I have eaten many times at this particular first watch location and in years and times past I've gotten really good service and food. I am a fan of first watch restaurants. But in the last 3 visits 2 of my meals of which I received were comped. My main complaint is that the food coming out of the kitchen is ill prepared. Not thoroughly cooked eggs burned potatoes and lukewarm meat. Totally unacceptable and unnecessary. Someone whether it be the server or assistant mgr. should be watching every plate that comes out of the kitchen. I've worked as a short order cook. I've worked as a waiter. Never would I have presented such a poor plate to the customer. Along with tables that weren't clean and food on the floor. It seems that the cleanliness is subpar along with food I have received of late...... not going back..... To the kettering location EVER! read more

It's back around behind the big shopping complex, so finding it took a little work. I was expecting it to be a little hole in the wall, but this is a very nice and very extensive place. They have room for everyone. We were seated nearly immediately after we came in. It was like 15 seconds. Very fast. The hostess was new, but engaging. We had to take a little bit to look through the menu and get familiar with it. They have a regular menu on a seasonal menu. I'm trying to do a very keto diet so I had to be particular, but they accommodate dietary restrictions. Daughters number two and three wanted waffles or French toast. The oldest one ordered a frittata. I ordered an omelette. No sides. Trying to stay away from the carbs. Daughter number three tried a seasonal pineapple juice beverage that sounded good but ended up tasting strange to her younger palate. She ended up giving it to her big sister who loved it. Always happy with our experience here! 10:00am on a Saturday we expected it to be busy but we were able to snag a table at their "community table" (where you can sit at any time as long as there's an open seat). We were served quickly and our server was friendly and attentive. She let us know right away that they were pretty busy and there might be a wait for food. We were still in and out in less than an hour and left happy with our meals and very full. Got a few seasonal items that were great and some all time favorites. As is not really a big fan of this place. In the past, food prep & presentation at the Centerville & Kettering location had been at best subpar. With that said, my husband & kid do eat at the restaurant. They like the waffles. They went today & while at the restaurant saw on menu Cinnamon Spice Churros. I looked at the menu online, and the churros looked really good. Who knows, maybe after 2 1/2 years, the restaurant has changed. Guess you can probably tell by my 2* review, not the case. I guess you could say the churros were hot, powered sugar & the cinnamon spice dust sugar that's supposed to be on top melted away?? The churros weren't cooked all the way thru, or the dough used was previously frozen. Churros didn't hold their shape. You could pull them apart like they were twizzlers. read more

First Watch is a brunch chain. This location in Beavercreek was very busy. The options on the menu are very extensive. I liked the vibes of this restaurant. It's busy and the right mix between casual and upscale. It seemed clean. You pay at the front of the restaurant. I really thought the service was good too. I ordered the breakfast tacos. You get three of them with some potatoes on the side. I like the tacos and it had good portions of each of the ingredients. It also didn't make the mistake of giving massive unfinishable portions while compromising on quality. There are also lots of drink options, but I did not order them. The restaurant is good value. It's $12 or so for the food. Food came out at a decent speed too. Hot sauce and water were at the table, which I prefer so that I can pour water myself. The one thing I would change would be the potatoes. The potatoes were a little bit greasy, and I feel like they could have been cooked slightly longer. My husband and I visited this location today. We were disappointed to say the least. My husband ordered turkey sausage and gravy as did I. This dish came with eggs which I never received. We stopped in today for brunch after shopping at Trader Joe's. It's certainly worthy. I had the Frittata Rustica and it was delicious. It had roasted-mushrooms, tomatoes, onions mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. It came with ciabatta toast and a really nice mix of greens. My wife had the eggs Benedict BLTstyle with the house potatoes. This place was just okay. I ordered an order for pickup which consisted of the farmhouse hash and a kale tonic. The kale tonic was good, however the farmhouse hash was lacking. The portion size was incredibly small and the avocados I received on this dish were brown. Not worth the $13 I spent on this meal. read more

In short, my food was poorly prepared, it made me go to the restroom and vomit, and the general manager blamed me for my dissatisfaction. I ordered the frittata, which was over-cooked, and more importantly the potatoes were so over-seasoned and salted, I couldn't physically finish them before they came back up. My server was so occupied with other tables, she never asked how my meal was, and I try not to be difficult, so I just awkwardly attempted to finish my disappointing meal and deal with my bad luck. When I told the manager, he claimed they follow corporate recipe procedure to a T, denying their own fault and insinuating my own. He did comp the check, but he made me feel bad about my literally inedible food. It is entirely possible that they accidentally salted twice. I worked fast food. I've even worked for First Watch. That kind of thing happens. It's understandable and easily forgivable. The lack of responsibility was disappointing. The Dayton Mall location is far superior in its food quality, more accountable management, and more attentive in their service. First experience here last week. Great menu selection! Quick service with an attentive server. I got the frittata, which had kale in the middle so it was hard to cut into it because chewy, fibrous kale isn't easy to fork up (spinach would be so much easier). Because kale wasn't healthy enough, it also came with a salad and a biscotti-sized piece of brioche. Flavors were good but I needed salt and hot sauce to make it better. I wanted a half order of biscuits and gravy but the server said they only do a full one but it was tasty so that's cool. I have never had another breakfast dish zing on my tongue like this. The subtle tartness from the goat cheese mixed so well with the other ingredients such as the crunchy and slightly sweet zucchini and the added bacon, that I can't help but to scream in zealous joy over the meal I just ate. We landed on First Watch and what a treat! I opted for the fresh fruit crepes with a muffin and homemade granola. The crepes were filled with fresh strawberries and bananas and topped with a strawberry spread. I spooned some of the granola on top. The muffin was very moist and tasty. Definitely a place that's good for breakfast or brunch. I like the fact that they push beyond the traditional scrambled eggs and potatoes. For example, they have frittatas. I had the smoked salmon frittata. Could've used a tad more smoked salmon but still excellent. The potatoes were particularly good. It's easy to see that they paid attention to the components of each dish to make sure that they were interesting and tasty. Ham and Gruyère! Ambience was typical for breakfast places which is busy bordering on chaos. I took off a star, because for some reason they created the chokepoint in the restaurant (which would be easy to fix). People entering the restaurant are thrown together with people trying to pay their bill that run into people that are trying to check in. If you're a breakfast food kind of person, but also like it when you have numerous options or ability to kick a typical dish into a higher gear, this is a place to visit. read more

It was so good the first time I brought a friend with me today as a thank you. It was such a disappointment. I ordered the Blueberry Muffin Tops, there was hardly any fruit or syrup on them which made them dry and as for the granola on top, there was barely a teaspoon of granola on it. I also ordered bacon and two of the strips were raw and I had to send them back. When the server returned with my bacon it was burnt to a crisp, it was black nonce again it went back. This is a really tough review to write. I've eaten at other first watch locations and always enjoyed myself, so I was sure I would enjoy myself here. And then we ordered. It seemed well and good. Coffee was hot and our cups consistently refilled - so far nothing to complain about. And then 2 of the 4 people at our table got their food and the other two of us waited. And waited. And waited. The two people who got their food finished when we were told by our waiter that both of the other dishes had been wrong and were being remade. Thus the wait. Then our dishes were delivered. Both eggs Benedict. Both stone cold. And the poached eggs on mine (I ordered hard poached) were completely raw on top. We had to send both dishes back. I was then brought my Benedict, but the fourth person was still waiting. I was halfway done before he got his food. Normally I don't eat before everyone is served, but we didn't have confidence my food would still be warm by the time his arrived. The Benedict was fine once remade, and both of the Benedicts were removed from the check - which was nice. If I'm back in the area I would return and give them another chance because of my previous experiences with other first watch locations and also because our waiter was great throughout, kept our cups full, and kept us informed. I think it's important to note though, if this was my first time eating at a first watch, it would have been my last. read more

For so long I was hesitant to try First Watch because it's a chain-restaurant and I. Am. Not. A. Fan. of chain restaurants. But to my lovely surprise, I really enjoyed it! I tried their Kale Tonic and it was so freaking delicious! I love green juices! I'll be trying their other juices next time I go! I had the Tri-Fecta for breakfast (2 easy over eggs, waffle and bacon). It was good, but nothing to write home about. Next time I want to try one of their nourish or granola bowls. Town and Country location. The food and service used to be excellent, now not so much. Staff turnover likely cause? When one orders "over easy, or over once" that means we want yoke. Even ordering soft boiled, you're likely to get medium or no yoke. Servers bring hot syrup to the table, but by the time you get your cold food that appears to sit somewhere in the kitchen, the syrup is no longer hot. If they'd wait until they serve the food to bring the syrup, at least it would warm the hot cakes/waffles up. No help for the cold eggs and precooked cold bacon. read more
