This is a really tough review to write. I've eaten at other first watch locations and always enjoyed myself, so I was sure I would enjoy myself here. And then we ordered. It seemed well and good. Coffee was hot and our cups consistently refilled - so far nothing to complain about. And then 2 of the 4 people at our table got their food and the other two of us waited. And waited. And waited. The two people who got their food finished when we were told by our waiter that both of the other dishes had been wrong and were being remade. Thus the wait. Then our dishes were delivered. Both eggs Benedict. Both stone cold. And the poached eggs on mine (I ordered hard poached) were completely raw on top. We had to send both dishes back. I was then brought my Benedict, but the fourth person was still waiting. I was halfway done before he got his food. Normally I don't eat before everyone is served, but we didn't have confidence my food would still be warm by the time his arrived. The Benedict was fine once remade, and both of the Benedicts were removed from the check - which was nice. If I'm back in the area I would return and give them another chance because of my previous experiences with other first watch locations and also because our waiter was great throughout, kept our cups full, and kept us informed. For so long I was hesitant to try First Watch because it's a chain-restaurant and I. Am. Not. A. Fan. of chain restaurants. But to my lovely surprise, I really enjoyed it! I tried their Kale Tonic and it was so freaking delicious! I love green juices! I'll be trying their other juices next time I go! I had the Tri-Fecta for breakfast (2 easy over eggs, waffle and bacon). It was good, but nothing to write home about. Next time I want to try one of their nourish or granola bowls. The place was crowded (I mean, 10:30am on a Sunday, what else can you expect) but the service delivered, was excellent. Our waiter (I wish I could remember his name) was very attentive and patient! Very busy restaurant! However, when you put your name in, you have the option of being texted when your table is ready. And you can see how many people are ahead of you (thanks Yelp)!! I got the Chili Chorizo omelet with egg whites. It was good but wasn't the best omelette I've ever had. I think it was lacking cheese. I ordered it with a cup of fruit, which was great. And it can with fresh bread & preserves. The bread looked amazing but wasn't tasty enough for me to sacrifice the carbs. The waitress was on top of everything and really sweet. It was so good the first time I brought a friend with me today as a thank you. It was such a disappointment. I ordered the Blueberry Muffin Tops, there was hardly any fruit or syrup on them which made them dry and as for the granola on top, there was barely a teaspoon of granola on it. I also ordered bacon and two of the strips were raw and I had to send them back. When the server returned with my bacon it was burnt to a crisp, it was black nonce again it went back. I will have to say that it wasn't as cold in there as it was last time and the coffee tasted a lot better. It might be awhile before or if I return. read more

Today, our adventure at first watch was not the normal service and quality we usually get at this location. The staff seemed a little grumpy when we came in today, and I don't think that our waitress was very friendly for an unknown reason. The temperature and speed at which we got our food was good and normal, but my wife had ordered extra crispy bacon and it was absolutely not extra crispy. Her waffle was also slightly deformed so I don't know what happened with that. Furthermore, the water cups on the table were dirty with spots and greasy fingerprints. In the end I'm giving our visit three stars today because the gentleman working the register gave one of our meals to us at no cost. I will still continue to eat at this location but I was disappointed in our experience today. read more

Town and Country location. The food and service used to be excellent, now not so much. Staff turnover likely cause? When one orders "over easy, or over once" that means we want yoke. Even ordering soft boiled, you're likely to get medium or no yoke. Servers bring hot syrup to the table, but by the time you get your cold food that appears to sit somewhere in the kitchen, the syrup is no longer hot. If they'd wait until they serve the food to bring the syrup, at least it would warm the hot cakes/waffles up. No help for the cold eggs and precooked cold bacon. read more

I absolutely loved this place! I was in Kettering for a business meeting and stumbled upon this place when asking a local bakery where to get some breakfast at a diner-style restaurant. I hate to admit this, but I was really not expecting anything outside of a Waffle House type menu. Boy, was a I wrong! I ordered the Market Hash: Two eggs any style atop a hash of fresh, seasoned potatoes, house-roasted Crimini mushrooms, zucchini, onions and red peppers with spinach, melted mozzarella and herbed goat cheese; however, I got this sans cheese. I absolutely love breakfasts like this. Several restaurants do these types of dishes, but they often lack veggies, so I was an instant fan. Additional highlights: Every table had a pitcher of water with lemon in it. As someone who guzzles water, this was greatly appreciated. If ordering coffee, a pitcher of coffee is left at your table as well (like IHOP). I loved how many veggie options were available, they even have quinoa bowls! Our server was extremely friendly and very accommodating when we let her know we were in a bit of a hurry. I don't know what it was, but this place just made me feel so comfortable and so welcome. My family & I are huge fans of First Watch. For some reason we didn't try it for the longest time and then suddenly were there 3-4 times a month! The staff is so friendly & accommodating. If you're not keen on something just let them know, they're happy to substitute or offer a suggestion of something else to try. We love the morning meditation juice, free flowing coffee, seasonal pancakes & frittatas. If you ask my kids the best thing on the menu is their chocolate chip pancakes! read more

They've got such an extensive menu of truly different food, but different in a good way. I mean the Chickichanga, has chicken eggs, and avocado in it?! But the result? A-Mazingness! The coffee is really not that great, so don't let them pour a mug for you and then charge you for not drinking it. They have a complimentary coffee station in the waiting are if you want to try it first which i suggest. The prices are a tad high for what you'd expect from breakfast at say Denny's but its totally worth it! I may just have to start getting up a little earlier on the weekends to indulge! read more

But breakfast/brunch eaters are usually habitual and consistent and so is First Watch when it comes to good service and delicious offerings. I will speak directly those who enjoy eggs benedict. Should you order that dish at this location, be prepared to be outraged. My wife and I both ordered the dish. Of four poached eggs, three were thoroughly hard boiled and one was as it should have been. My wife is too kind to send a dish back and had the one decent egg. I cut a square from the ciabatta with the intent to accept my fate and eat terribly prepared eggs. Then, I thought better of it and flagged the waiter to have the dish made again. When the waiter returned, the eggs were properly prepared, but the eggs had been placed on the original plated ciabatta. How do I know? The square, which I had cut but had not eaten, sat on the plate, mocking me. Also, the potatoes were stone cold. I don't blame the waiter. He was relatively attentive. I blame the completely incompetent kitchen staff. What kind of imbecile does not understand how to properly poach an egg? Further, who is so immensely lazy as to leave the same ciabatta and potatoes on a plate and send it out again? I shall enlighten you. The people in the kitchen at this First Watch. So, if you enjoy eggs benedict and are looking for an affront to your sensibilities, do stop by this location. They are sure to disappoint. read more

I loved being able to put my name in on Yelp, get ready, and then arrive and get seated. My waitress, while busy, was attentive enough. The food was amazing...very amazing...and quite reasonable price wise for what you get. Almost everything, if not all, the food was fresh and homemade (even the ketchup was made by First Watch!) My standby for good breakfast places is eggs Benedict. This was soooo good...it came on what I think is a French loaf that is well toasted and the eggs were a little over cooked but decent enough. I also had lemon ricotta pancakes, which were delicious! I will end up back here, this was quite possibly redeeming Dayton compared to my experience in the Oregon district. read more

Great place to grab breakfast on a Saturday morning. Every time I've gone the line is always out the door with the wait ranging anywhere from 4-60mins. They do offer complimentary coffee when the lines are long. The waiting area is not extremely big, so if you have a larger group i would suggest waiting out side and wait for your name to be called. The food is great, I had a waffle and it was delicious. The food came out fast and piping hot! The service itself was great, extremely friendly and polite which was very nice. We've been going there for several years. The past two times have been extremely disappointing. Had a belgium waffle both times and asked for it extra crispy. It was not both time. My husband said it was the most bitter tasting coffee he has ever tasted. We will not give it another chance. While in Dayton visiting my sister, my wife and I stopped at First Watch for breakfast. My wife ordered the Summer Crab Omelet and I ordered the Smoked Salmon and Roasted Vegetable Frittata. Both meals were plentiful and delicious. (And I am not a salmon eater). The waitress was great. We had read on line that there may be long lines, but that was not our experience. They seat you quickly and everyone seems very active and helpful. I will say that when we left, a line was starting to form.
