A friend and I popped in here at about 11:30PM on a Friday night for a late dinner. You could tell that this place doesn't normally host folks in their dining room (I think every other person that came in was either picking up a delivery app order or was waiting for an order that they'd come in to place and take with them) as the staff was a bit awkward about things like providing us glasses of water, but ultimately they quite kind. The dining room itself was very small, a single picnic table, and they had a large industrial stand fan running in one corner. It was warm but the fan brought it to the perfect temperature. The food is unbelievably good. I had their chicken sandwich with a side of fries, and you could tell that everything was made fresh from scratch. My friend had the chicken quesadilla and it was so huge and delicious he had to stop himself from eating the entire thing! While we were waiting, we got to see some of the other foods being made. They made their pancakes from scratch - not from a mix! I'm definitely going to come back next time I'm in town! read more

The food here truly is delicious, but how the business conducts itself was leaving much to be desired from top to bottom. Traveling through the area, was looking for a breakfast/brunch spot on our way out of town and first and when 6 people walked in, the entire vibe shifted in the place. We were told that they only do online orders and pick up basically, but we were in a tour a van and did not want to eat eggs on a 90 degree day in a hot van, we asked if we could sit, and they said "no problem." But then it became a problem. The two working here decided to start playing very loud grime/trap music while sat there as they made our food. They increased the volume of every track and even as the orders came out, kept turning up the music. After they said we could eat in the shop, they continually raised the volume on the music to an unbearable point, even clocked the one of the chefs going to the ipad to raise the mix even further, and we all ended up taking to go. I get it. You don't want people in the shop. You don't have bathrooms, theres not a ton of seating, and this is a cool stoner delivery spot. But everyone, including myself, tipped the workers on the orders and just tried to have a quick bite so we thought it wouldn't be a problem to eat and be on our way. It was so obvious that these workers do not want people in their store or for diners to enjoy themselves there. Again, the food was really good, but I didn't want to eat it in a tour van. I know that may be selfish of me, the customer, to want a place to eat something with gravy and eggs, and not in a steamy enclosed vehicle, but wow, it was so obvious that we were not allowed to be in there from the vibe. Not to mention, one of the folks in my party clocked that 2 cops were outside rummaging through the trash - so not a great look on this restaurant or neighborhood. They only do takeout but they do it right. Visited a couple of weeks ago. They have an eclectic menu with their versions of classic breakfast items. They were slammed with orders that day and received my food in a decent amount of time. It was 2 person show that day and they were focused on cranking out food. Had the PBJ French toast which was good. I'm a fan of anything PBJ. Only thing that I had problem with was finding it as they only have a window sign and no hanging or ground sign to easily see and parking which for them was very limited. I've ordered here a couple times but never dined in before. I've always enjoyed the food please don't get me wrong but my recent experience was not the most enjoyable. My friend and I walked in when they opened in the evening we had a gentleman take my friends order then walked away not realizing I also had to order. He apologized then took my order but kept pushing that we should've ordered online. We waited for over an hour for 3 items while we sat in the small area of the dining room. Music was so loud we couldn't hear anything or anyone talk to us a few feet away. While we were waiting there was also a gentleman that walked in actively smoking marijuana then continued to smoke while in the establishment. We both thought that this was a customer who was smoking but to our surprise he took off his jacket then got behind the counter and started bagging orders also without washing his hands. I understand that this place is called Stoney's but employees smoking in the building, 5 feet from the food, then touching orders is not okay. As someone who has been sober for 2 years this also made it very hard to tolerate. Once we received our food the original man told us we could stay to eat "if we wanted" but they don't have a dining area. We took that as they did not want us to stay even though they have a table and another bar area with multiple stools. Don't judge by the looks of it and the area it is in. A GREAT spot for breakfast in Dayton. Only TAKE OUT. The staff and chef are very polite and friendly. I got the 1. Limp Bizkits and Gravy(5/5). The biscuit was fried perfectly crunchy outside and fluffy inside. The gravy was spot on. I would definitely get it. 2. Chicken and waffles (4.5/5) Very good fried chicken with savory sauce on top. If I was rating based on food, I would rate higher but after what I witnessed today to pick up my order, I won't rate any higher. Upon entry, we were greeted but it seemed like we weren't there after that. The owner, I assume, was treating his employee like absolute garbage and cussing him out over making any type of mistake. Seeing the responses to bad reviews, I was wary to post this but I could not stay quiet. Multiple times we heard (Quit f***ing this up for me," or, "You just keep f***ing s*** up." Truly an awkward situation that I don't advise anyone to put themselves in. If that employee is able to read this, get a new job. Don't put up with that guy talking to you like that. read more

I got the chicken a waffles from Stoney's. I was super excited to try this place. I wasn't a big fan of the waffle. I felt it was a bit bland and very very dense, the chicken was amazing though. I think you get a lot of food with the full order. The aioli was interesting, I personally wasn't the biggest fan of it but it didn't bother me when eating the meal. I'm hoping I can try other things from their menu, because their stuff looks really good. read more

Food is amazing. Get the limp biscuits! Amazing gravy & "biscuits" which are basically a fried savory dough. Comes in a half or full order. I got the 1/2 (3 biscuits) & my hubs got the full order (6). My boys got the churros waffles with Oreo's & they commented that "they're the best waffles they've ever had!" Took about 20-30 minutes to get our order of 4 items out. But it was worth the wait. They have a QR code to scan to order or I'm sure you can via website. Would be easy to place order from home/car to cut down wait time. The restaurant is off the beaten path & building/parking are kinda sketch. read more

We've been here twice. I LOVE the biscuits and gravy, as well as the chicken and waffles, chicken sandwich, and blt. (Everything we've tried so far!) I didn't grow up with biscuits and gravy so I'm a hard sell on them... but I can't get enough of it here, and even dip my fries in it. None goes to waste! Those fluffy spheres are heaven... I feel very welcome in this restaurant. All of the employees are very friendly and contribute to the inviting atmosphere! It's the type of place you can go to for a reliably tasty breakfast/lunch... and also hang out for a while after and drink a few cups of coffee. Highly recommend! read more

We ordered the French toast pb&j sandwich (which includes a side of fresh fruit) as carry out and they refused to complete the order after we paid in full. No refund was offered. We checked the carry out in the car and found that it was just the French toast pb&j sandwich with no side. We quickly went back inside and asked for the fresh fruit side that the menu stated came with it. The guy on the register said "you didn't say you wanted the side". It's included on the menu so there is no reason that we have to say we wanted it. I reminded Register Guy that the menu specified that the side was included, and that we paid full price ($9) for a pb&j sandwich with a side. We asked him to provide the side we had paid for and Register Guy shrugged, said "sorry", and refused to get the side. He did not offer to discount the partially filled order and refused to complete the order. This is not legal. There are plenty of ethical establishments to go to - stay away from stores like this that try to sneak away with not completing your order and not refunding. The sandwich itself was not worth the price. read more

First time going today and the experience was awesome. The guys aren't super pushy asking if we need anything every two minutes, with great attitudes and aren't afraid to be themselves, relaxed environment with good old music from back in the day. The food was DELICIOUS, i ordered two half plates but had to switch with a coworker because she wanted a half but got a whole(she prob ordered the whole and just didn't realize haha) but hey.... extra food for home! I don't know what is in those dang Limp Bizkuits..... but they didn't taste like a normal biscuit.... which I wasn't complaining. Definitely worth the 14 min drive! read more

Great hospitality and food. It's a small place with maybe 20 or so seats. The menu takes different approach to breakfast using big, bold flavors. We shared the chiccken & waffles and the " limp bizkits & gravy". The waffle is a cornbread waffle that has confit'd jalapeños in it (just enough) and the chicken was of a great quality. The biscuits in the "limp bizkits & gravy" were more hush puppy than biscuit; they need a little work but the gravy is outstanding. Conceptually, the dish is heading in the right direction. We will be trying the Mac & cheese next time. Don't forget to ask for the secret stash of hot sauces. read more

Absolutely loved this place. Very small but well worth it. I had the chicken and waffles - the fried chicken has a garlic sauce and the waffles are made of their jalapeño cornbread. Delicious. We also had some of the half baked Mac and cheese - also delicious. We will definitely be back. read more

A week after I went to Stoney's for the first time, I knew I had to come back. Brought my boyfriend along this time to show him this hole in the wall place. We shared the chicken and waffles, french toast PB&J, and of course the limp bizkits and gravy. Everything was superb! Chicken and waffles were savory and sweet while the PB&J was huge and messy. Our favorite were the biscuits and gravy!!! The biscuit balls were crispy and savory and the gravy under it packed so much flavor. Without a doubt it was the best thing on their menu. Not only is their food comforting, it is extremely affordable! I'm going to miss this place when I leave Dayton. read more

This stoner / foody dinner is a gem. Parking is difficult. You mostly park across the street on the street and walk over. The place looks a little intimidating from the outside. But once you get in. It is brightly colored and clean. The staff are the owners and work hard to please you. The menu is limited entries but they have a variety plus daily specials. I had a breakfast bowl. It was prepared great, filling, flavorful but it wasn't a Teamsters portion. I enjoyed my meal. Recommend going. But like the other guy said, it is not for Springboro soccer mom place. Because it is a "bad" neighborhood, as they describe it, they don't take in-person orders. After being repeatedly assured it wouldn't be the full 40 minute wait the app said, the order took longer than the time posted. There is no parking, so everyone seems to park in the tow away area in front of another business. read more

If I could give this place 100 stars, I would! Such friendly workers. The food was fantastic. We are moving out of dayton in a couple days, but I'm so glad I found this place before we left. Will definitely be back to visit. The workers are very cool and let us know that we didn't have to wear masks unless that was our preference. I got the french toast-- AMAZING, the mac and cheese--DELICOUS, chicken and waffles-- REALLY good w the garlic aoli, and a breakfast burrito. The burrito would've been way better with a chipotle mayo or maybe an aoli, but i dipped it in the french toast syrup and it still was amazing! 10/10 will recommend -- especially late night! read more
