I recently had an order delivered to my residence from this establishment. I ordered the Ham Double Decker sandwich with provolone cheese on toasted white bread with no lettuce and no tomatoes. The order came with a side of French fries. The order arrived fairly quick and was in a styrofoam container placed in a plastic bag. There is a lot of ham on this sandwich and the fries were plentiful! I really enjoyed the sandwich. The ham slices were tender and the bread was lightly buttered. I didn't see an option to add mayonnaise or I would have. I felt the sandwich was a little dry. I also barely tasted the provolone cheese. It's there but sliced really thin. The fries were good, and there were a lot of them. They weren't too oily but not exactly crispy either. I think the meal was a good value. I just wish they would have had an option to add condiments. There were some napkins with the order but no condiments. I would like to try some of their other food options and I do recommend. read more

I'm a big fan of Philly cheesesteaks and varieties thereof. Ever since living in Dayton, I'd heard whisperings that Steak Thyme has some of the best cheesesteaks in the area. Recently, I was finally able to give it a try! They have quite the selection of cheesesteaks -- more kinds than I knew existed. Cuban, Buffalo, Greek and Italian styles just to name a few. I ended up going with the namesake, STS Chicken Philly (STS for Steak Thyme Subs), which comes with mushrooms, onions, peppers, STS sauce and fries on top. I requested the fries to come on the side instead of on top of the sandwich, which worked out nicely as then I didn't have to order a side. They offer 6 inch or 12 inch subs. I went with a 12 inch, and was surprised to see when it came out that it was actually just two 6 inch sandwiches. This worked out great, because I only ended up eating half and was able to take the entire second 6 inch sandwich home for leftovers. Overall, the cheesesteak was delicious and the leftovers heated up really well. The STS sauce is kind of a mix between thousand island and chipotle mayo. Interesting, but good. The inside is rather spacious, but we noticed most people got food to-go. Service was obnoxiously good -- I say obnoxious because it was almost to the point of hovering, if that makes sense. But overall, the food was good and they have such a variety that you could try something different each time. read more

I have no words. Everything is too good to be described but I will try. FRESH. Everything that hit the table was so fresh. We got veggies with hummus added steak on top of the hummus at the suggestion of the server and it was awesome. Both my husband and I got the pot roast, it was so tender, so flavorful. Both thier housemade chips and fries were fresh, crisp and well seasoned. The bread was perfectly done, a slight crust but still soft and moist. I recommend this place as a must stop for anyone. Updating since my last visit. This is one of those places where they have some awesome amazing things (see above) and some average or less things. Stopped in while looking for a reasonable spot to eat. As I walked in I was greeted by several employees. Menu had a ton of options and I chose a Philly & Philly Fries! It was phenomenal! I immediately started letting friends in the area know about this spot. Not only was the food fantastic but the waiter who is also an co-owner was extremely personable and helpful! First visit to the dining area, the place is very clean and comfortable. The service was as expected and above. Many tv on the walls, nice spacious experience. The Pot Roast sub was delicious and just the right size for the price (above 15 dollars for the 12" size). I can't give a 5 star on the first visit, but time there was relaxing. The bread on the subs are fresh, soft and slightly toasted. The taste is great, however I feel there could have been more meat. The fries are delicious, fresh cut & seasoned. Onion rings are nice and crunchy. I was however disappointed in the baklava. Overall it has a good flavor and appearance, though the dough doesn't have the traditional crunch it's supposed to have. Have driven by this place for years now and honestly thought it was just another small chain and not worth checking out, I was wrong! Steak Thyme is quite the hidden gem, tucked away in a mini strip mall by a tax prep place and behind the lee's fried chicken joint, definitely worth checking out! Very clean and welcoming inside with plenty of seating, the service was very prompt and friendly as well. The menu had what one would expect with the name, a variety of subs, cheesesteaks, salads, gyros, etc. It did seem to have a greek spin to certain dishes, they have a thyme baked potato with cheese and gyro meat on top , unique spin on the traditional baked potato and pretty good! I opted for the cheese steak. It came out on a toasted sub roll which was fresh and very tasty! The meat had a great taste and I would put it up against penn station any day, really good flavor! Overall I really enjoyed Steak Thyme, glad I finally stopped in after all of these years! This is a great casual place to eat. It is a local, family owned and operated business. The cheese steak is unforgettable. And the fries are fresh and seasoned to perfection every time. Whatever alterations you want to make to the food , they will do it. It's small but oh so good!!! If you haven't been there, check it out. My husband likes the fries but I prefer the chips. The Taziki sauce is good. I like dipping my chips in it. One of my favorite menu items is the greek potato. The buffalo chicken sandwich is good too. Tonight, I had the Steak Hummus & added Feta. Got chips instead of Pita (I can't eat gluten). Mmm. That was good. We have not had anything on the menu we did not like. What more could you ask for? Seasoned fries were fresh and on point! Like so many others it seems, I have been driving past this place, never stopping by for a taste testing. Well, I finally did. I walked in and the air was smoky, but pleasantly smoky to me, like a piece of meat wasn't quite burned but had been on the grill too long. There were two men working, one on the grill, the other serving first as the hostess, and then the waiter. The hostess greeted me and asked me to sit where I liked. I liked a booth on the right. I didn't know what to get and he recommended the gyro with fries. It was the special that night for $6.99 or something close to that. He said it was the best gyro in Dayton. I'll admit it was pretty good but it didn't have that punch, that pow, to me. Plenty of tzatziki sauce, fresh tomatoes, and onion, and good quality gyro meat, you know, the sliceable kind that may or may not be lamb. The important thing is that it was made with love and it was fresh, and that goes a long way. The seasoned fries were baller, also fresh, and cooked to perfection. I liked the fries better than the gyro. I'll go back and try the burger. If everything is that fresh all the time, I think the burger would be a good way to go. read more

UNSANITARY.......First time, and Last time, Waiting for our food I noticed two bearded guys behind the counter, NO beard nets, The cook was on the phone while cooking with the gloves he handled the food with. Once the phone call was over he threw the phone to his coworker and the coworker said don't throw that it's a new phone. The cook continued to cook and handled food with the same gloves on. NASTY...A women came in and asked for change for a hundred dollar bill, probably from a nearby store. The COOK came to the register and handled the money with the cooking gloves still on, THEN WENT BACK TO HANDLING THE FOOD (Buns) with the same gloves on GROSS.... I asked for the manager because we were not going to eat that food. Low and behold the manager was the COOK. I told him we were leaving and he had the nerve to say I will change my gloves and recook your food, well that did not happen, we left. Please if you value your health DO NOT EAT HERE. This place is a hidden gem in Kettering. It's located in a little strip mall across the street from Meijer on Wilmington, next to Lee's chicken. Everything is recommended. They have the best cheese steak in town. The gyros are fantastic. The Philly chicken is scrumptious. Why don't I order that more often? The spicy chipotle steak...yum. They have a drive-thru, but you will have to wait several minutes for your food since everything is made fresh. The staff has always been very friendly and willing to please. The staff was really polite and the service was fast. The sandwich was delicious. The meat was well seasoned and the veggies were not over cooked. The bread was really soft but still held all of the contents of the sandwich well. The loaded fries were yummy and you get a large portion. The come with cheese, bacon and sour cream. So, I love a philly cheesesteak, and I've been dying to try this place for months. I finally made it there for carry out last week, and was very happy with the results. It turns out that they make their cheesesteaks with thyme, and it's a delicious, but subtle difference from the traditional cheesesteak sandwiches. Also, I think they cook the meat on a flat top grill, because it retained amazing flavor and was really juicy. Not the healthiest way to go, but I don't know anyone who orders a cheesesteak on a diet, so who cares. They have a really eclectic menu, including a variety of cheesesteak sandwiches, and everything on it sounded great. I also got the fresh cut fries, which definitely lose something when you take them to go, but would certainly be very good if you ate them right out of the fryer. And they put some kind of paprika seasoning on them, which was yummy. Prices are totally reasonable, and I'm guessing this is a family venture, which I like to support. The three ladies who were there that day were all so nice. There is a drive through as well. Be prepared to wait at the drive through, as they are cooking everything for you, it's not a fast food place. Yes, I'll be back.
