First impressions? Very good - a neighborhood diner. Two staffers greeted me when I arrived, both hustling to keep a full dining room humming. Good teamwork among the staff. I sat at the counter and ordered a patty melt w/side of coleslaw. The water and menu arrived promptly, as did my food. Price? $17 including tip. Unlike the greasy mess that is the typical patty melt, this one was dry. All the expected ingredients were present, but how did they manage to make it so dry. Frankly, I was craving a little bit of a mess, but no objections. The beef flavor was good. The cheese was fully melted. I do wish the onions were a bit more caramelized. I will admit to being intrigued by the pistachio cake. I almost ordered a slice, but that was too much green food dye for me. Will I return? Yes. read more

I wanted to give 4.5 but that isn't an option. Found this little diner based off of a search and Yelp reviews and it didn't disappoint. We arrived at 11am on a Saturday and it was packed....people waiting outside. It was only a 15/20 min wait. This is a cute little diner with limited seating at tables and a few at the breakfast bar. Loved it bc it's a locally owned non-chain establishment. A ton of regular/locals dining in. The food was good, the coffee was flowing. We did wait a good bit for our food (over 30 mins). So if in a hurry may not be your place but if you wanted a meal that is home-cooked and not mass produced this is your spot. read more

Debbie's is a great locally owned, mom and pop place. It is a super basic place with a simple menu. It's our go to when we want something quick, and not too expensive. We've been for both lunch and breakfast and have never been disappointed. Make sure you check out the specials too! I really like the pork chop and eggs, or corned beef hash breakfast. I've never had my over easy egg be sort of blackened there, which I appreciate. At lunch I had the hot shot, which was also super tasty, although I might ask for the gravy on the side for the potatoes next time, or maybe have them use the turkey gravy instead of the beef. I think the beef gravy is the only thing I don't really like there. The servers keep my coffee cup filled, which seems to be a dying art these days. I am super excited to check out the updates to the dining room, the pictures look great on their Facebook page. It's always been a sort of no frills kind of place, which is part of the charm--but a little refresh is always nice to see. You can always check their Facebook for the daily specials. I've hear their cabbage rolls are excellent! I'm keeping my eye out for the next time they have chicken and dumplings though. read more

I found this place on Yelp, never been here before, and reviews were all good, so gave it a try....What a delightful local diner...mostly locals. They had remodeled a bit, so the outside side was missing, walked in and said " is this Debbie's? The crowd inside all laughed and said yes, they clearly knew I wasn't from around here. The food was outstanding and reasonably priced. They specialized in biscuits and gravy, I'm not really a fan of that, but got it anyway, it was good, but not a favorite..the hash browns were great..the bacon was the best I've had in a long time. I have eaten here several times and the breakfast never disappoints. My favorite is the Debbie Combo Omelette with hash browns and biscuit. I also really enjoy the breakfast gravy. I have yet to try the lunch menu because breakfast is served all day and it's absolutely delicious. I plan on trying out the other menu items soon. As I WILL be returning again and again. Something to note though is that it's usually pretty busy and the food is always hot and fresh so be prepared to have your patience pants on and wait a little bit. This restaurant was near to the National Air Force Museum so it was quick after our time at the museum. A kind gentleman moved so the six of us could sit together. It was so crowded. The wait staff took out order quickly and it didn't take long for our food to come. Everything appears homemade and tasty. The beef in the hoagie was tender and very good. I went to Debbie's Restaurant for the first time yesterday on the advice of a good friend. They have a really decent menu. The prices on the menu are very reasonable. I met the waitress Kelly and the first she did was to apology about the table not being clean and wiped it immediately. I think it was clean already but she felt the need to make sure everything was very clean. She took my drink order and had it out to me fast. Kelly presented herself very well. Her movement was non-stop taking care of the customer's needs. I mean NONSTOP! I had a burger and fry combo with iced tea. They dressed the burger perfectly and all tasted good. Fantastic experience. The three women working the restaurant were friendly, attentive, and efficient. The atmosphere was welcoming and clean. Coziness of the place made us feel like we were sharing a meal with the other customers; not in a cramped, intrusive way, but in a communal, relaxed way. The food was good and arrived promptly. Tried Debbie's Restaurant today for the first time and was definitely not disappointed, the place had a nice cozy homey feel to it you were welcomed with a warm hello, the place was clean. The service was fantastic the waitress was very friendly came by once and asked if we were ready and we said we needed a few minutes and then she came back in a few minutes wasn't pushy wasn't rushing us at all, it was a good feeling . Well we ordered the wife ordered two eggs French toast bacon and home fries and I ordered Debbie's special with rye toast and a side of home fries everything was really good cooked well, the only thing I could say that needed improvement on was that the home fries need to be cooked with onion other than that everything was just great. Highly recommend. I called ahead for a reservation which they don't do. However I told them I had 12 people and they said if I arrive before 10am they would hold the tables for me. They did! It shortly became packed. Everyone enjoyed their food. It was just a hole in the wall, didn't even have a traditional sign, but aren't those the best. read more

When I was in college I had a broad set of friends from all parts of the country, then later in the Army that continued. Going to Debbie's in Dayton (in town for Mother-In-Laws memorial service at Wright State) was very much like going with your white friend to his grandma's house. The general area is a bit worse for wear, you ride by some things that need some serious TLC. You get to her place and it's a little island of clean, quaint, complete with eclectic decoration, domesticity. The food is simple, clean, freshly made. There is no cooking show spice cart in play here, there is a little bit of salt and the tiniest hint of pepper (as if it is the precious spice of Dune fame). That fits this location perfectly, it is what you should expect and what you get. If we are in the area again we will come back. We got in early, while we were eating the rest of the town came over. That sweet, hero server (don't know if that was The Debbie) just weathered the storm like a pro. "Weeds...what weeds"! Added: Kudos on the one page menu Debbies.
