Bar snacks ($5) gone, hummus ($11) deviled eggs ($8)
Lindsay J.

Great experience at The Foundry! Let's start with the vibe, this is a rooftop restaurant/bar on top of a Marriott downtown Dayton. The bar is indoor/outdoor, and the view is beautiful. The Dayton Dragons stadium is one way and downtown is the other. Everything about the set up is cool. The service was fine. There were three bartenders, but they don't work as a collective, they walk the whole bar but do not address you unless you are their customer. That was frustrating. Drinks and food came quick, bill took a bit. We shared a few apps: hummus, bar snacks and deviled eggs. All were excellent. The apps were fairly priced, the rest of the menu seems expensive, just be prepared. Seems like they may be known for pizzas as there is a full time pizza chef cooking at the front of the restaurant with a wood fire oven. That was a fun talking point. We were there at 8pm on a Thursday, it was still packed with families, groups, singles, professionals, baseball kids, young 20 somethings, older groups, everyone. That says a lot about the quality you get at the Foundry. Definite must stop in downtown Dayton.

Food: 9/10- Burger was absolutely delicious. Pepperoni and cheese pizza was good. Drink 9/10: Expresso Martini was good Service: 10/10- our waitress on both times I visited was good. Very attentive and professional. Ambiance: the view is absolutely amazing. The windows were open and the weather was really nice.

Have sat inside and outside here and outside is definitely better. The food is just good not great, paying for the atmosphere and the vibe. Food did take a bit long , has taken a while every time I've been. Overall nice occasion date night with a nice vibe

The Last Word and boy did I need it and boy howdy was it good....

I loved every moment of this dining experience! Well actually, did not love the parking lot app download hassle, but got through it and had a great cocktail to ease the pain. We took the one stop elevator and were greeted warmly and seated quickly. I ordered the Last Word, a tangy and very slightly sweet gin concoction and my husband enjoyed a glass of the Red Blend. The waitstaff were attired in simple uniforms, all looking well groomed, very polite and attentive and able to answer questions. Walls of windows surround you and the outdoor deck looked really cool. Sadly it was much too chilly to go out there...but we are looking forward to it another time. Mile high industrial look ceilings have noise canceling insulation so although the place got full up, it was not overly loud. Loved the hanging lighting. It's a modern yet classic atmosphere. Happy to see many guests well dressed, appropriately for a fine restaurant. The chef must be a mad genius. Talk about an eclectic menu. Something here for everyone's taste in a range of price points. Some of the entrees are $$$ and absolutely worth it. We started with the Rhode Island calamari which was excellent and perfectly prepared, with plenty of tentacles and flaming hot cherry peppers to spice it up. I have not had this dish for a long time and was quite impressed. The food presentation was artwork. The short ribs just melted under your fork and the scallops were large, sweet and tender. The green pea puree, yeah! The flavor blends were marvelous. We pulled out all the stops and got dessert too. Strawberry lemon pound cake served like a parfait. It was a generous delectable dessert and just right for sharing with a piece of amazing candied lemon on top. Make a reservation, and if you plan on the lot give yourself about 10 minutes to accomplish paying for a parking spot, for which you must have a smartphone with QR code capability. It was $7.20 for 3 hours. There is also a parking garage across the street. Looking forward to coming back A.S.A.P.

The food was ok, a little disappointed personally with the hollandaise... like they didn't put enough. Personally the food didn't taste good to me for brunch, it was bland. I saw everyone else order pizza and burgers so no breakfast... maybe that's where we messed up. The views from the locations are amazing, you can see then Dayton dragons stadium! The service was ok, they had more ppl outside so it seemed they were more worried there. However, our inside experience was nice again the view awesome. It was cute little place, might have to come for dinner or try something else

Really cool area in the water street district in downtown Dayton. Highly recommend reservations. It was a beautiful night but was not able to grab an outside table. I was told I had to note I wanted outside seating in my reservation, which I was unaware of but will remember for next time. We were able to go take a peak outside and the views of the baseball field and surrounding are amazing. The restaurant has a cool, modern, warehouse look inside. The bar area is beautiful. Our server was wonderful all night. She was able to answer our questions and provide recommendations. She took great care of us. The food was good. It was pretty heavy on the garlic but was tasty. Loved my frozen cocktail but hated the paper straw. Ice kept getting stuck in the straw and made it difficult to drink. Be prepared for a pricey meal but it's a pretty happening area to hang out downtown.

Fantastic deviled eggs and steak!! Omg! Great drinks and top notch service and views! Whether you stay at the hotel or not this place is a must!

Amazing food, incredible atmosphere, and outstanding service! We recently visited The Foundry Rooftop and were blown away by how fantastic everything was. From start to finish, it was such a memorable experience. The Reuben was perfection--packed with flavor, perfectly toasted, and so satisfying. The avocado deviled eggs were such a fun and unique twist on a classic, beautifully creamy and packed with fresh flavor. The loaded baked potato pizza was next-level delicious--crispy crust, gooey cheese, and all the toppings you'd hope for, making every bite indulgent. And we can't forget the hummus--it was fresh, flavorful, and paired so well with the accompaniments. Not only was the food phenomenal, but the rooftop vibes made it even better. Whether you're looking for a casual night out or a special occasion, this is the spot! Highly recommend--can't wait to go back and try more of their menu!

Smoked burrata toast. Very smoky, very nice!

This place was recommended by a fellow Yelper who gave it great praise. He was right! It's on the top of a new Marriott hotel across the street from the Dayton Dragons ball park. It's a nice place. We started with the Smoked burrata toast. Smoked burrata cheese that was just delicious! We loved the dish! Next we had the Nutty mushroom pizza. Again the smoked flavor was a main component. Along with mushrooms, Mozzarella cheese, a creamy cashew sauce and truffle. Yummo! Cool place, great food, fast friendly service. As Arnold said, 'I'll be back!'

My wife and I recently attended a birthday dinner at Dayton's only rooftop restaurant downtown, and was overall pleased with the experience. I ordered the cherry pork belly dish, served with perfectly cooked plantains, flavorful rice, and beans. The sweet and savory cherry glaze worked well with the tender pork belly, making each bite a delightful blend of textures and flavors. Only knock is there was way too much fat on the cut of pork The span-seared salmon was just ok, that had a rich chipotle cherry glaze that gave the dish a bit of sweetness. The garlic mashed potatoes were creamy but a tad dry, while the grilled asparagus added a nice crunch. The drizzle of lemon herb butter, added a citrus note that balanced the meal For those who prefer chicken, one friend let us try their brined & roasted chicken breast was impressive. Very tender that came with a mushroom risotto and the classic combination of peas and carrots, the dish was elevated with a chicken caramel sauce that tied everything together I forgot to mention we started off with a curated charcuterie board, filled with a variety of quality meats, cheeses, and accompaniments that made for a perfect appetizer The combination of a stunning rooftop view, attentive service, and solid dishes like these made for a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!

Igloo on the rooftop!

We were celebrating my nephew turning 25! The place was packed! The ambiance was chill but too dark for my liking! They need to add some table lamps to the booths to add a bit more lighting! I ordered the chicken lollipops, steak fries, and the open face bbq meatloaf sandwich! The chicken lollipops were smoked, tender, flavorful, with crispy skin and yummy sweet heat bbq sauce! They came on a bed of greens and pickled onions. Absolutely delicious! The open face meatloaf sandwich lacked flavor! It was tender but had no flavor! It had crispy onions, cheese on top and sweet heat bbq sauce and still wasn't that flavorful! The had a live singer, he was very nice & sang well! My nephew enjoyed a Carnivorous pizza, my son enjoyed his short ribs with corn succotash, my mom opted for chicken lollipops and steak fries, and my sister loved the crab cakes, followed by the Forger Burger! They also brought my nephew a complimentary dessert which was a warm, decadent brownie with ice cream! Overall I'll return and try other items, and they also offered an igloo experience for 200$ which covers all food and I believe drinks from what the servers said! Nice place for a casual night out!

Chocolate Bundt Cake

Went to The Foundry for a cute rooftop dinner and the food was okay! The smoked burrata toast was not was I was expecting but yummy. The nutty mushroom pizza was also good but a bit sub par. As for dessert? We wanted to order the tiramisu and was told they were out. We saw a table get served the tiramisu close to when we got our dessert so it was disappointing. We ended up ordering the chocolate bundt cake and it was extremely subpar. The cake was okay and the chocolate chips felt cheap. Plus it had the smallest ice cream scoop I've ever seen! We ordered a bottle of wine which was good but the service took so long. I sat for ~20 minutes before someone came to take my order and we had to wait for 10-15 minutes for an ice bucket. We also had to wait so long for someone to come take our dessert order. Over all, the food was subpar, I wouldn't come here again.

The food was creative and delicious. I sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice. The DJ was lit as well. Great place to have a party. The rooftop patio was very nice as well.

Where is parking?

Since the bar is located at the Marriott hotel in Dayton, it’s Valet parking or street parking. It’s right across from the DayAir Ball park. Believe there’s also a parking garage but don’t know the cost.

A favorite for brunch, we booked dinner for a Friday night. Phenomenal experience celebrating the holidays with a small group of family and friends. We already loved Table 33 for lunch or brunch, but had never experienced their dinner menu.... Now, it's our favorite Dayton-area restaurant for any meal, snack, or cocktail. (Do not sleep on their wine list though, fabulous assortment and available for retail purchase) Friday night dinner reservations and we were floored with the recent dining room updates - including new dining venues off a hallway, each with its own unique decor (including a unique chandelier in each) and a truly decadent and unexpectedly private environment. Seating for 4 and above in the varying spaces. After dinner, we booked the guaranteed add-on table reservation at the adjacent venue, 'The Dessert Room'. A well-appointed room with a European decor and upbeat music settles you in for a delightful list of desserts, from gelato and macarons to pies and cakes, and a nice coffee, port, wine, or cocktail menu. The service is amazing. The food and cocktails, phenomenally good. The venue? Truly gorgeous. The owner is reinventing another adjacent property next to 'The Dessert Room', currently a mix of a Mexican fare (bowls, burritos) and tequila. Previously a coffee shop, interested to see what it ends up being to tie these venues together.

Today's adventure brought us to Chef Danes first restaurant, a global comfort food diner called Culture. Culture is a pleasant, if a bit noisy at times, visceral experience of its namesake. The menu full of unique yet familiar dishes and ideas Invites one's culinary curiosity yet doesn't become unapproachable. On a different day I would have tried their Louisiana catfish, but today Patrick and I were on a mission. The specials were calling. Patrick and I have been trying to slowly become part of the Dayton community and Patrick's new job at Little Fish (a nearby bar and restaurant) has propelled us to dive further into our exploration. Patrick was made aware of Cultures new specials, a Thai cheesesteak and chicken tikka masala fries. We had to try them. So on this crisp and cold mid spring afternoon we decided to become cultured. First off we got the Chicken Tikka Masala Fries and we were quite impressed. I'm not the most familar with British Indian food (maybe a bit more than the average midwesterner but not by much) and the fries definitely brought a pleasant experience that Patrick an I enjoyed...but we didn't finish all of it at once. We saw a glimpse of what was to come and we didn't want to eat to fast and fill up to much. The picture I took does not do the Thai cheesesteak justice. It just had a certain presence coming off of the kitchen. We were sitting at the bar watching it all unfold for the most part and the smell was subtle yet hypnotizing. we finished maybe 3/5ths of the fries and waited for the sandwich. Once it got to use I cut it in half, Took as good of a pic as I could, Gave Patrick his half, And dug in. It might have been a bit too hot resulting in me burning my tongue but the flavor was encompassing. I could taste all the elements coming together in such a unique groove. Could be chalked up to just a damn good cheesesteak, they tend to illicit similar responses, but still. The first words out of my mouth after finishing that first bite were "holy shit". I then maybe finished the sandwich a bit fast but I couldn't help my self, i had to have it. It was so damn good. Well worth trying while they have it. To say anymore would spoil the experience. Anyway, I've rambled enough. I encourage you try Culture for yourself! Thank you. Drew, from Dayton

I asked for a nice table, but they sat us next to the bar... I'm not sure why since the other dining room was open and no one was in there eating The food was no better than what you could get at the Denny's restaurant... the service was no better than a poorly managed diner, and the ambience was that of a slightly elevated cafeteria... Flavorless, dry salmon, a house wine that ended up being sparkling, despite the fact that it didn't claim to be so on the menu, and a waitress in blue jeans and a sweatshirt that might as well have been working at McDonald's... If you're going to claim to be a fine dining restaurant... Maybe you should pay a little more attention to the fine detail.
