This is one of those places where the menu is on a big board on the wall, you place your order, get a ticket, go get your drink, utensils, maybe condiments & maybe chips, pay at the pickup counter, take your stuff to a table that you are expected to clean when you're done. The machine at the payment counter assumes you want to add an 18% tip for all this. Add ranch, provolone, lettuce, and tomato, and you'll get our creation. You can also add onions, sweet peppers, hot peppers, cucumbers, pickles, or olives. I was deeply disappointed. the positive is that they do have private parking and that makes a world of difference when coming over for a quick lunch, another great thing is that they have a super big restaurant and the sitting area is pretty spacious with plenty of tables and seats. this place is kind of like a subway with some small differences. you order, pay and then wait for your number to be called to get your sandwich. the sandwiches here are pretty large. I had seen my friends coming back from over here with some pretty nice and large sandwiches so I needed to come by to try one so I did. PHILLYCHEESE STEAKE SANDWICH- I was truly regretful, even though the sandwich was a pretty large size for 2 meals it lacked flavor over all, there was nearly any cheese and onions in there. I have to say the Veggie Sub was fresh & tasty...for me 1/2 of the 7" was plenty. However, it took much too long to put together a sandwich which required no baking or grilling. Simple as my order was, there were two mistakes...I asked for a sesame bun, got the plain; I specifically asked for NO banana peppers...the sub was loaded with them! The food was bland and not very good. Got the Philly cheesesteak and it was definitely not like ones I've had in the past. Honestly even the chain with the yellow and green letters was better than this one. Bread was too sweet and the rest of it was just bland. Wouldn't recommend the Philly at least the way it comes. Subs are good but they can't seem to make a sub or salad correctly. I ordered a Chicken Bacon Ranch salad but they forgot the bacon. This is an item on their menu. We love these subs. The bread is so wonderful. The bread is chewy on the outside and soft on the inside. The meats and cheeses are tasty and they have a great deli variety. So good! This place is blast from the past for me. I used to frequent the original store in Rochester, NY many years ago. It was always one of my favorite sandwich places and after the visit here, it still is. I had the Godfather on everything bread and even the medium size was too big for lunch. DiBella's is one of the best sub restaurants in Dayton. I have tried most of them and this is one I would not hesitated to go back to.

I am giving 2 stars for the food because if it was for customer service it would be as close to zero as possible. My family went to this location because I've raved about the food for a while and it is the closest to us. Upon trying to enter the side door was locked, one set of front doors was also locked (it was 8:19pm) and if we hadn't tried the second set we would have assumed they were closed. After entering it was status quo with placing our order, then to check out. The employee started off by asking what we had ordered and followed up with "I am assuming this is to go". I responded by saying we were planning on eating in which was met with a blank stare, so I asked/said 'as long as we are allowed' (there was another couple eating at a table). The employee stated "we close at 9pm and it is 8:26 already, if you can be done eating in 15 minutes then I guess". I just responded by saying we would be dining in and she stared at us for a few seconds before reworking our total. I worked retail and food service many years ago and want to preface that because of those years I will not shop, dine-in or place a take-out order if the business is closing within 15 minutes. I know the employees want to get off as close to closing time as possible and I respect that. The sticking point is that a business has hours and those hours are for patrons to be able to walk into the business up until the clock hits closing time. It however does not mean you can limit if someone can or cannot eat in the restaurant past a certain time as long as they entered before you closed. The customer is not always right but they do pay the employee(s) paycheck and an employee should never be able to decide when it ok to serve or allow customers to dine in as long as they arrived before closing. Employees are paid to be at work and if the work is longer than closing hours then you still get paid and anything outside of work must wait until the customer leaves. Lastly, the employee dropped a cookie on the floor while bringing our food to the table and still served the cookie to us. It's wrapped so I'm not bothered with the floor part, it certainly should have been thrown away and a new one brought out but it seems the employee has a little entitlement problem and should be reminded customers are the key to keeping the doors open and we won't be returning to this location again. Anyone who is close enough I would suggest going to the Centerville location which I have visited multiple times with great service. read more
