Service took a while and it was pricier than you'd expect but food was fine. Fine for a basic breakfast.

Stopped in in our way to see some sites. Super friendly staff. Everyone that walked it seemed like they were visiting family or long time friends. Such a nice thing to see. You can tell it's a place loved by many frequent visitors. The service was excellent and the food was good. This is definitely an old restaurant by its old, unuqdated furnishings and faded restaurant sign but it was clean. Service and cleanliness are just as important as flavor so this place is a definite recommend for a quick breakfast stop.

My food tasted alright at the start, but made me sick after getting home. The staff were nice, but the hour wait was a bit much.

The food is pretty good. They use a microwave though, and I waited an hour and a half for a take out order.

This weekend we went to the Cellarbration 2026 held at this location. Every couple of years, they crack open a few treasures and share some special releases. This year, they had 22 choices, including my husband's favorite Warped Wing beer of all time, the 2019 Baltic Porter, aged in port wine barrels. We split a trio of sliders and a specialty flavor of wings, Honey Butter Buffalo, which were especially good. We liked all 3 sliders, but the stand out was the pulled pork...absolutely delicious! Because of the event, it was pretty busy at noon but the staff kept things cleared and cleaned. The bathrooms were clean but bare bones. It was quite loud for lunchtime but nothing that would keep us from returning.

There are some restaurants that I look forward to visiting on return business trips. Not this one.

First impression? It definitely gives off biker bar vibes from the outside, but once you step inside, it's way more welcoming and laid back than you'd expect. The burger was juicy, flavorful, cooked perfectly, and packed with great taste in every bite. You can tell they care more about making good food than trying to be fancy. If you're making the trip to Buc-ee's and want something local instead of chain fast food, Rip Rap Roadhouse is definitely worth the stop. Everything seems to be pre cooked, so when you order its ready to serve. I had a simple meal of a pulled pork sandwich and mac & cheese. The sandwich was ok, but the meat itself didn't have a ton of flavor. I had to eat it with a fork because it was soaked in sauce, which tasted ok. The mac & cheese was fair. Lots of styrofoam used, but they don't recycle, so they're generating a lot of trash that doesn't have to be trash. I don't plan on going back. There are too many other options to check out.

On food alone, this place deserves four stars. The pulled pork and chicken were moist, with sweet…read moresmokiness that was just right, not "in your face." My husband and I both got the spicy sauce, which had a slowly evolving sweet heat; you could see red pepper flake in it. My son enjoyed the mild sauce, which he has declared "amazing." We had mac n cheese and collard greens for our sides. While the mac n cheese was good, I am one of those oddballs who doesn't like Velveeta in hers, so I'd have preferred a slightly different recipe. The collards, however, were delicious, with a spicy acidity that tasted like pepper vinegar. I could have eaten an entire bowl full of just the greens. I ate my chicken sandwich with a fork, because the bun quickly soaked through. It was really tasty. Our only issues had to do with the restaurant itself. First, it was unreasonably hot in the dining room, so I can only imagine it is sheer Hell in the kitchen. Though there were fans running along the floor, you couldn't pay me enough to work in that sauna. Nevertheless, our service was helpful, friendly, fast, and courteous, and both ladies behind the counter were extremely polite and professional. I'd love it if management could make sure they had a comfortable place to work when it's hot outside. Though the ladies' restroom was clean, my husband said the men's room had some toilet paper in the floor and could have stood a good, thorough cleaning. Lastly, though we were there during lunch (approximately 12:30) on a Saturday, they had already run out of their sausage, which indicates a potential problem in managing inventory and/or anticipating demand. At lunch time, you shouldn't be running low on anything. Also, despite signage that indicated the restaurant offers tea, none was available at the time of our visit. The food quality alone will bring me back (especially since you do online orders and catering), but dining in just wasn't the best part of the experience today. Hopefully, with some minor adjustments, that will improve. You've got hardworking, courteous staff, so try not to melt them.
