4.5 stars We've been able to go to Lefty's twice this summer. This is the kind of coffee shop where you could leave feeling happy because you've actually interacted with friendly people and have ordered a tasty treat. They have a large variety of latte flavors that all sound pretty good. We've had a couple with white chocolate combinations. We had one breakfast sandwich on our first trip and had no complaints. The second time we went, we had two types of chicken wraps. The sandwiches overall, in terms of combination of ingredients and flavor profiles, were great, but we were surprised that the quality of the chicken didn't quite match. Would go back for sure and look forward to trying more things, especially off the breakfast menu. read more

First, I was SO PLEASED with the amount of gravy I received with my Hot Shot breakfast. It was a generous serving. It was also very good...Not too thick, not lumpy, just the right consistency. Eggs and potatoes were perfect. I also got a cold brew that was okay. They have an array of syrups to choose from, which is nice! The line quickly fills the store and it gets a little difficult to move around due to the placement of the seating. Recently moved to Fairborn and stopped by with my husband and daughter to try their drinks. Normally, I go to Starbucks, but I'd rather support locally owned businesses. I got a strawberry refresher with lemonade. The lemonade refreshers at Starbucks leaves my mouth feeling... dry if that makes any sense. But this refresher, for $4.70 (16oz), blew me out the water. I genuinely said, "Oh, my God," out loud when I first tried it. They make it with strawberry puree instead of syrup. You can taste the difference. My husband and daughter loved it as well. I'm sitting here working my mad study skills at Lefty's and have to say I'm impressed! Lefty's is a mom and pop coffee place with a twist--AMAZING fresh food, prepared to order like a dine-in lunch spot, served on nice plates with proper silverware and lots of healthy options, including vegetarian and gluten free. Don't get me wrong though, if you want a sweet treat and you need your fix, they've got you covered too. ;) I walked in just needing coffee and a place to study for the moment, and instead discovered a place I will gladly go out of my way to frequent when I'm nearby. While I wasn't overly impressed with the friendliness of the service I received (just good enough to call neutral) I'm ok with that in a place like this. Sometimes we have to earn our smiles and earn it I will! And did I mention their food looks INCREDIBLE?! Seriously! Wow! My only complaints really are that they *DO NOT* have WiFi (but apparently Fairborn offers it downtown. Cool!) and the plain bagel w/cream cheese my son ordered was way chintzy on the cream cheese I had already paid extra for (still not a prob!) because it was whipped cream cheese that dissolved into the bagel. When he asked for another to make it look adequate, they charged me .91¢ bringing my total to about $4.00, plain bagel w/cream cheese. Meh, I can afford that all day lol but it wasn't a welcoming business gesture for a new customer. Oh well, I paid it. Bigger problems in life! I would've preferred they just price their bagels $1 more up front and give customers enough. Saves time and sentiment lol. I choose to look the other way because hey, it's hard to be a small business these days and I appreciate them being here and their other food is top notch done right, generous, and beautiful! Hubby and I went to Leftys Monday afternoon for lunch. Both of us were looking for a place to have a nice fresh salad in town and were glad to find Leftys online. An online picture menu showed us that we picked the perfect place. I had a spinach salad with turkey, bacon, tomato, and maple bacon dressing. Hubby had the Carribean Shrimp Salad. The strawberry smoothie and turkey sandwich I got was very good! Lots of options for food and coffee however no "regular" drinks except tea or lemonade I believe and basic side dishes. Kind of put off by the cashier, I had some questions since it was my first visit, I wasn't greeted by her when I walked in and when I asked about seating I perceived her response as rather short. However there was a man working with her making drinks and he was very friendly!Inside has a small seating area and there's a few tables outside, but most orders seemed to go or just drinks so I'm not sure if that's ever a problem. read more

Such a cute little hometown coffee shop. Baristas were super friendly, lots of coffee, tea and smoothie options, decent prices. Flavor combos if you're not sure what to get. I'm a constant coffee shop and cafe explorer and upon moving to Fairborn I heard about this place and decided to check it out. It has a pretty cute aesthetic inside and out, but the actual product itself leaves much to be desired. I got an iced chai latte and it was extremely sweet with no chai flavor to be found- just tasted like sweetened milk. I also got a bagel with cream cheese since all the food offerings looked pretty good, but it was very boring and tasted just like a store-bought one. I like to try something simple when I first visit a place and something more complex the next time, but as of right now I don't think there will be another visit from me personally. If you're seeking a high quality coffee shop/cafe, this is not the place for you. It's average at best and will do if you just need caffeine, but all of downtown Dayton's coffee shops are much more worth the price/drive (Ghostlight, Press, St. Anne the Tart, etc.) read more

Absolutely unimpressed! Started off a rough morning at the BMV, found Lefty's online and it sounded like a cozy place to lift our spirits... The guy working the counter was pompous, he didn't seem to know the items on the menu even though I had already looked at it in the car. We ordered breakfast with him, to be told by the cook that breakfast was over and that she didn't have sour cream for the Huevos Rancheros.....so they had to refund that to our card because we had already been charged. The coffee structure is a struggle as well. We were going to sign up for their loyalty rewards program but quickly changed our minds. We will not be back! All of this before even tasting the food has started off as a bad experience. Too bad first impressions say a lot because the food was actually good. read more

We were very excited when a new branch in Xenia opened up. We have never been to the original in Fairborn. But I've been to the Xenia location twice now, and it was very underwhelming. I really want this place to succeed. I drink a lot of coffee and I want my local coffee shops to do well. But the coffee is I've had here we're not really that great.. The lattes and mocha were under flavored and watery. Not enjoyable really. We didn't try any meals, just bagels. They were fine. Lefty's, if you read this, please know that I don't want to poo on you. I want you to succeed in Xenia! But, with a well established Coffee Hub down the street, you're gonna have to step up the coffee game. read more

My rating is not based off of the food, which I thought actually looked pretty good. I'm a huge coffee guy, so when I realized that there was a coffee shop near me that I hadn't tried I got excited. My go to for first time coffee visits is a classic mocha. The mocha that I got pretty much just tasted like steamed milk. The barista was not very friendly either. The best thing about my experience was that at least the place looked clean. Maybe I will try the food someday and change my mind, probably not though. read more
