I'm a little embarrassed to say I've lived in Centerville for over a year and just now found out about Nutmeg Cafe. Stopped by on a weekend morning, and it was pretty crowded -- all tables were taken, so we ended up getting it to go. Tried the farmhouse breakfast sandwich and a cheese danish with an iced coffee. The food was phenomenal. The breakfast sandwich was delicious, and I'm wondering if the english muffin was homemade, because it was super flaky, yet dense. The cheese danish was also amazing. They serve Seven Hills coffee, which is based in Cincinnati. Overall, highly recommend checking this place out and we will certainly be back! read more

I'm all for little cafes and privately owned businesses but the prices here seem to be higher than necessary. We came on a Sunday morning, and I'm glad they're busy but there isn't enough seating to accommodate. My daughter wanted a grilled cheese panini and it was flavorless. The chai tea tasted watered down. I want to love this place but it missed the quality mark for me. They do have a large variety of syrups if you're into that type of thing but you're gonna pay an arm & a leg for it! read more

The food here is good - bet on it - as are the drinks. Several flavors of tea are available, lotsa lattes, coffee, soda, and water (this might not be an exhaustive list). The staff here is wonderful! There's that "local coffee shop vibe." Very nice and I stopped going to other coffee shops even though this one is about 1.5mi further from my house than the nearest chain store location. Love this place! I had THE BEST APRICOT DANISH on the planet there yesterday! Been going since they opened. The environment reminds me of the TV series Cheers, as many of us customers have gotten to know staff and other customers. WELCOMING, KIND, FRIENDLY, and YUMMMMMM! I used to go to a large chain shop. I'm so happy to be so close to this hidden gem. Everything I've had here is delicious and the staff is outstanding. My only complaint is not really a complaint, just a something to be improved I guess. In fairness, the store was busy when we got there and we had to stand waiting for a table, but when one finally opened, (after waiting a fair amount of time), we had to bus the table ourselves because the people before us left everything behind. I think the message needs to be clearer that there is a place to put dishes in the back. No one would know that unless you walked all the way back there - so maybe a note or something. read more

The pictures on Google make this cafe look super old but I was really surprised that everything is very modern and cute in person! Farmhouse sandwich was gigantic with fluffy soft eggs. It was thoughtful that they served the cappuccino with a piece of chocolate like in Italy. Nutmeg steamer was 12/10! Sweet but not too sweet for those who lean away from coffee. It's a little hidden and hard to spot. It's worth looking for though. New place that opened up at the shopping center next to the paint store (same side as McDonalds and across street from Kroger). The coffee was spot on and it's good to see another local coffee shop that's not a Starbucks. It was a little busy so that's a good sign, but help support this local business. Again, it's hard to see and the signage isn't the most conspicuous. We wouldn't have noticed it if we weren't shopping for paint. read more

Was ok the first 2 times I went and I say OK because they just seemed busy and sought after and just behind on orders but the more I went it was always the same thing.. mediocre service and waiting 20-30 min for your coffee and even longer for your food. I heard the English muffins for their breakfast sandwiches were made there fresh but upon trying the sandwich it was so underwhelming and I tried both the sausage and bacon. The best way to explain how it was overwhelming is due to hugeeee lack of flavor or any type of seasoning even just salt or pepper. I was very disappointed in not only the service from the socially awkward workers who can't even recommend a coffee to try, but I am irritated at the "side of fruit" that comes with the sand which because it's literally a miniature cutie or tangerine that is so small that you could eat it in one bite and also just not having a fresh side of fruit with how expensive everything is and also being expected to tip the people that take your order and make your coffee which is also NOT good at all... is just strange the coffee is bitter, burnt and tastes cold and old which again is strange bc you can see the workers making coffee but it arrives to your table cold and just not tasting good at all. I'd like to give them four stars, but I just can't do it. The breakfast sandwich was delicious and a nice sized portion. My husband got the ham & cheese quiche. It was a tiny snack-sized portion, but tasty. The thing that really irked me about this place is they ask for tips when you order at the counter, but there is a sign on the tables saying you need to return your dishes to the back of the restaurant - what? If you want tips, you really should pick up the plates. I don't tip at fast food restaurants where I have to return the trays, what was the tip for? When we placed our order at the counter we told her we were eating there, but she let us stand there waiting for our drinks before saying we could go ahead and pick a table. Cute hidden gem! Next to Sherwin Williams in centerville. My husband and I were heading to grab some paint and stumbled upon this place. Really cute atmosphere and good coffee! My only suggestion would be to have someone greet you with sharing what they're specialities are, mentioned they just opened, recommend anything, how their dishes system works, etc. (Its like Panera where you put your dishes in a bin after.) So excited for this cafe to be open and near me. They offer a full coffee bar with home baked treats and light lunch offerings. The location is in a strip mall with plenty of parking and the cafe is currently following covid restrictions with masks and limited seating that has tables with two seats and a front bar at the window with several stools. The menu includes quiches, salads, sandwiches, fresh baked items such as cookies, cinnamon rolls, tarts and more. I picked up a cappuccino to go but wish I could have sat down to explore e food offerings. The chef was baking but came to help with the rush. She was very appreciative of customers.
