My wife and I recently got take-out from Venecia for dinner and it surpassed all expectations. They don't have a true website, just a Facebook page so we looked at the menu via pictures from Yelp. We were able to order online via DoorDash and it was ready for pick up in about 15 minutes. We tried a 12 inch pepperoni pizza, and split a spaghetti bolognese. The dinner entrees come with a side salad and two garlic knots. Honestly, the food was delicious. Great sauce to pasta ratio on the bolognese. Pizza was topped with grated parmesan reggiano, which is always nice. We really enjoyed having a near 3 course meal with the side salad and garlic knot. It was the perfect amount to split and we still had plenty of bolognese and pizza leftover for lunch the next day. Overall, highly recommend Venecia and it has now become our go-to casual Italian restaurant in the south Dayton area. read more

I was very pleased to find a mom and pop Italian restaurant near me while I was traveling. I got the linguine with light clam sauce carry out. It had no flavor, only white color. I order a large cheese pizza, with pepperoni and black olives from here recently. Delivery was very quick and pizza arrived nice and hot. This pizza is similar to a New York style pizza except it's not exactly foldable on the edges. It is a bit thicker on the edges and progressively thinner towards the center. The sauce is zesty and flavorful. The toppings generous. It was really cheesy and not overly greasy. I really enjoyed this pizza and would definitely order from again. Most chain pizza restaurants consider 13-14 inch pizzas to be large. However, this is a true large at 16 inches. It's a really great value considering the size. I highly recommend. read more

Small restaurant tucked away. First thing is the garlic smell as you are walking in, you know it's going to be good. My dinner date got the chicken cutlet parmigiana. The chicken was very tender and delicious. I got the chicken caesar and again the chicken was very tender. We got some of the garlic knots and you can tell the garlic was fresh. The service was good but pretty slow. There is nothing fancy about this place but it is warm and welcoming. The food is variable. The Stromboli is very nice and the pizza may be the best thing they do. The veal and chicken parm were heavily over sauced. I hate it when Italian restaurants say they are authentic because my expectations are raised. They do offer toasted ravioli but not arancini. They offer white and red wine but not Chianti. We've always been HUGE fans of this quaint Italian joint, but today I decided to leave a review. My wife was going to pick up food we ordered via phone since she was in the area at 5:00. She texted me shortly beforehand and we had to delay pickup due to unforeseen circumstances. At that point, the restaurant had already made our meals. Picked this place for a Valentine's Day date. It was crazy busy. From door to getting food was about two hours, but it was well worth the wait. The whole place was being run by four very hardworking people, and they did an amazing job. My metric for Italian food is "could I make this at home," and the answer here was a solid NO WAY. Everything was hand-made, including items I would fully expect to be frozen, like the fried appetizers. We got the fried okra and fried ravioli, and I could happily have just ordered more and had them for dinner. That being said the entrees were also amazing. We got the shrimp scampi, baked ziti Sicilian, and the sausage roll. All the portions were large and everything was delicious. I will definitely be back! Well I was dining by myself and wanted something different in the Italian food area. This restaurant was a new pick for me. As I entered there was a generous area for tables and booths. Italian music in the background so I thought so far so good. Clean and open for dining. The menu was extensive so the variety of selections were more than adequate. I'd normally pick a pizza but decided for the chicken Alfredo. It came to my table piping hot. The salad was small but fresh and the big delight for me was the garlic rolls. Baked there! My husband got the shrimp scampi and the shrimp were cooked perfectly and not over done. I had the trio pasta and it was wonderful. Tiramisu was also amazing. Tried a bite of the stuffed cheese manicotti, Yum! They have some of the most outstanding marinara sauce of anywhere I've ever been! Cannoli was fresh and crispy too! The service was great! Staff very friendly and efficient! Waitress was kind and talked with us about all the places she's lived and how big her family is, very interesting and was a nice conversation (during a time only one other table had guests, we went between lunch/dinner). Wow!! What a surprise right here in my folks neighborhood. I grew up in the area but have lived in Arizona for almost 50 years. We have tons of wonderful restaurant choices at home so when I visit the Dayton area I'm always excited to find something special. This authentic Italian restaurant was incredible. From the homemade Italian salad dressing and rolls, to the freshly made pasta, every dish our group ordered was delicious. Linguine with white clam sauce, lasagna, eggplant Parmesan, spaghetti and meatballs, each one better than the other. Our server Adrian was charming and did a great job do. Talk about authentic! He arrived from Sicily four months ago to work in the family business! My only complaint is the atmosphere. The conversion from an old bar has much to be desired but the food and service quickly won the day! A must try if you love good Italian food. read more

I'm so glad we found this gem of a family-owned Italian restaurant. My favorite dish is the baked ziti. We also enjoy the chicken cutlet parmigiana and the white pizza. Fresh greens, red onion, black olives, cucumber, tomatoes and big delicious shrimp! It was great! My SO had the Greek salad. Tons of great feta, red onions, cucumbers tomatoes and black olives. Next we had white pizza. It wasn't great like the salads. Crust wasn't hand tossed and was not interesting. Loaded with plenty of cheese it lacked interesting flavor.
