I will review for what it is and what it can ideally be used for. THIS IS A BAR! Who happens to serve AMAZING fresh and delicious Thai food, that said: The Pot Stickers, Cucumber Salad starters are so delicious and carefully prepared, the plates where warmed and to be honest the quality of the food was a full surprise to my whole party. When I looked for dinning options I was confused when I arrived as this is mainly a bar. Based on Yelp reviews and pictures I had to see if this place truly sold these amazing looking plates. We started with regular drinks and starters. As the time passed for our food the place slowly filled with more quests who stood around drinking in groups. To be honest I started to feel a bit uncomfortable as I was there for dinner not really the bar atmosphere, but decided to stay. And I am so glad I did! Even thought it was full of people and loud music was playing we ate our meal. Everyone in my table was so surprised at the flavors in their food, the textures the temperature and the presentation of the plate. Never would we have expected such amazing food to be server at a bar. So all this said this place is a bar to hang out with friends and drinks, but come hungry!! As the food is a hidden jewel we are happy to have found! Jenae was our server and she was amazing. Not only was our server attentive but friendly and truly made a connection with us. We are so happy to be server by her and next time we visit Savannah we will surely come by! read more

This is a new review as the last one is obviously old! Lady Saigon @ Boomy's has gotten their act together! Food is out at a timely manner and it is fabulous!! I will go back and have gone back with the same results! Go and enjoy!! read more

Seriously yummy food! We went with our 12yo daughter who didn't want anything on the menu. The waiter / bartender was kind enough to get her a hamburger wiped up. My husband had the tom yum soup and ordered it at spicy #4 was perfect! I loved my Thai curry noodles! The atmosphere is that of a traditional bar but the Thai Vietnamese food is not to be missed. Like I said ,we went with our 12 year old daughter and it was absolutely fine even in a bar atmosphere. Don't miss it go to Boomy''s!! read more

It took forever to order a drink because the bartenders were chatting with each other on a busy night, then when we got their attention it turned out that the drink specials that brought us into the bar were for a bar crawl, but weren't labeled as such. It said something like red, white and blue specials. How am I supposed to know that's for a bar crawl? read more

Ok fellow Yelpers-you led us astray with all the great Thai and Vietnamese ratings, we stopped in Savannah for lunch thinking how great to get a fresh Thai/Vietnamese meal in historic downtown Savannah. Even better that is was a casual bar environment. The bar was cool. The service was good. The summer roll appetizer was adequate. But from there it went downhill. The lauded pho was little better than canned beef broth with charred onions. I've had better pho broth at pho chains. It was dreck. I had the egg crepe dish with Pork and shrimp-all the meat was grossly overdone, the "crepe" was like crinkled flavorless yellow wax paper. My husband had the green curry with beef like dog food (as was the beef in the pho) and the curry more like crap gravy dyed puke green. The only thing I regret not having was the whiskey ginger slushies, maybe I would be able to relate to the other reviewers who gave this place a high food rating, but certainly not while I was sober!!! read more

really good asian food and drinks. so far i've had the chicken pho which is phenomenal and plentiful and the shrimp rice plate w/teriyaki sauce is excellent. the shrimp and veggies were grilled and topped with teriyaki sauce with a little side salad and great dressing. i've only had the slushies for drinks and both (jameson and georgia peach) were really good. one of my favorite places to chill out and get good food. read more

The food here was really good and unexpected. My friend told me to come here for some Thai food and I was taken back because I always saw this place as just a bar. We had the spring rolls steamed dumplings and some fried shrimp that I can't remember the name of but it was amazing. I also got some sesame noodles with shrimp and chicken. I wanted to try everything on the menu because what I ordered was so delicious. All the more reason to come back and stuff my face. read more

The food was very tasty and service was good. We ordered red curry noodles and a Vietnamese rice dish. It's a nice option that the menu offers both Vietnamese and Thai options. The atmosphere is a bar atmosphere so would not be appropriate for families. Otherwise the restaurant is very good and I would visit again. read more

Great local place! Mike was great! Cool place to get drunk and dance if you say so! From Jacksonville FL. Will be back!

Came here based on the reviews. Basically a dive bar with authentic Thai/Vietnamese menu. We had duck spring rolls as an app that were really good with a sweet chili dipping sauce. I had the pork rice plate with a fried egg on top and it was amazing. My partner had the beef pho which was good but a little too spicy at level 3. They ask for level 1-6. I would get a 1 and ask for sriracha or chili on the side so you can season to taste. read more

Boomy's - Pubs Near Me - Savannah, Georgia

Typical dive bar, although the drinks were a little higher than expected (probably due to the fact that it was located off of one of the main strips of Savannah). Food was below average in comparison to other dives I've been to, but the quality of service and positive feels helped mitigate the mediocre grub. They have a pool table in the back but it is the smallest of the sizes (almost looks like it's meant for kids). Free coozie when you check in on Yelp! read more

Cool bar that serves Thai/Vietnamese food! Kind of weird combination and I'll admit I was skeptical at first but we ordered the potstickers and they were great! Next time, I'm going to try the Pho since I haven't found a place in Savannah yet :) read more

Excellent Thai food! Good beer (try the Boomy Bock on tap). Great service. I would go back.

This sports bar/Vietnamese place is great. The bar staff is so cool and nice. We had Wings and Pho' and it was really good not what you would expect at a bar. We went for New Years weekend and it was a go to bar. read more

Went to Boomy's later on at night. Cool bar in the Historic District. They still had some happy hour specials at like 10pm. They had a full Thai menu but it was too late for me to try but others had it and it looked legit. Very unique. read more

This used to be one of my favorite place in town to get some good authentic Vietnamese dishes. Tonight was a complete disappointment. There is no possible way that our meal was cooked and prepared by anyone who has a clue about Vietnamese food. I should have taken pics... This place was has been great many times before so this experience was a big let down. Really sad to see one of our favorite places go downhill. I have no urge to return unless I am certain that whoever used to work the kitchen is back! read more

Yummy food. We ate here twice on our weekend trip to Savannah. Loved the veggie spring rolls.

You would not expect a 100% amrican looking bar to have such GOOD thai food.. we went here in afternoon and the service and food was awesome.. especially being vegetarians, getting good tasting food when in a unknown city is great!!! read more

I cannot explain how much I love this place!! The staff, the food, the drinks, the entertainment - seriously everything here is just perfect in every way. The place is just really comfortable and you feel like it is "your bar" the moment you walk through the door. Never lonely between the crowd and awesome staff - got to know the bartenders right off the bat, even the one and only Boomy himself! Even met the owner - super nice guy! Food is amazing - I've been a few times and had lunch lunch, dinner, take-out, and late-night, and it has all been to die for. There are so many options, which is great, but can be overwhelming. Ask the staff for recommendations or guidance on the menu (which is HUGE) and you won't be disappointed. I've been in Savannah for a long time, and Boomy's hands down is my favorite spot. read more

I really wanted to like this place's food, but it was horrible. Boomy's might be the worst Thai food I've ever had. First of all, both times that I called for a delivery, they didn't have a driver, but that's not a huge deal. So I picked up my food, chicken satay and Tom yum soup with shrimp. When I tried it the chicken was rubbery and cold in the middle, and the peanut sauce and cucumber salad were flavorless. It wasn't edible. Then I tried the soup, it was edible but not worth eating. Never been so thoroughly disappointed with a restaurant in my life. read more

I walked in with a light appetite, but after the first bite, devoured my noodle dish as if I were famished. It was delicious! And a game of billiards afterwards with local firefighters made our night. read more

Food is wonderful, bar scene for sure. Great drunken noodles and duck egg roll! Staff is just ok, but Colleen the waitress is very friendly and quick. read more

Slow bar. Ok bartenders. Pricey drinks. Nice hangout bar if you don't want to get stuck waiting for a drink. Not the most popular bar but decent. read more

On Monday my siblings and I did a pub crawl with Savannah Slow Ride. It was the four of us plus two others from our bike ride. Boomys came recommended by Cody with Savannah Slow Ride. When we entered around 3:30ish, only three other patrons were in the bar. We all ordered the peach slushies. When we asked for our check the bartender was extremely abrasive. We asked for one check as we were going to sort it out amongst ourselves after we saw the bill and then pay as one check. She got indignant as soon as she gave us our check so we could figure it out and said in a very rude tone and mannerisms, "so you all wanted to pay separate then?" snatched the check back out of my sisters hand. There was NO reason to ever be this rude. She wasn't busy and literally had to pour our slushies from a machine. This was our second stop and we had not been drinking prior to our Savannah Slow Ride so drunkenness or rude behavior can not be used an excuse on her part. read more

I love the potstickers and the atmosphere! The portion sizes are perfect and the service was great.

Our server Mikey was awesome, we got there right at 11 and he still let us order off the main menu! Red Curry... Yumm and Jamison and ginger slushie was great! GREAT PIC! read more

On the way home from Disney we were desperate for something decidedly not Disney. This hit the spot. The edamame was deliciously seasoned. The broccoli stir fry dish was my favorite. The light sauce on it was addictive. And what's not to like about cocktails served with a straw? Overall the food was good, drinks were good, and even though it is a bar atmosphere they were totally fine with kids. Kids enjoyed the food as well. The only dish we didn't enjoy were the drunken noodles. We ordered them based on the great yelp reviews but found them a little bland...missed the traditional Thai basil that is usually the star ingredient of this dish so this is definitely their own take on it. Obviously others love it but we wouldn't recommend particularly if you're a fan of traditional drunken noodles. Overall we would definitely return to try more of the stir fry dishes and enjoy the bar. read more

Called to place to go order, guy named Andrew answered and then yelled at a woman asking her if she wanted to talk to someone to which she just said 'no' and then he hung up. Called back and spoke to the woman who interrupted me to tell me to call back in 10 minutes because the restaurant was full and there were only 2 people working there. Not my problem. read more

I had a great experience despite having to find a good place to dine late night! The late bite went off without a hitch thanks to an exceptional server/bartender who went the extra mile in my (late) hour of need! Thank you Kate!!!! Dynamite service! read more

We waited for an hour for take out foods. They didn't even start to cook after we had already waited for 45 mins as they only informed me they went out of beef at that time. I ordered the last one from the noodle menu, my friend ordered the first and a fried rice and the taste were horrible! I can only eat with the hot sauce otherwise they were too dull! But the hot sauce was EXTREMELY hot. Don't waste your money here. That's all I got to say. read more

My husband and I went to Boomys for dinner. The food was amazing. I ordered the panang curry and he ordered the curry stir fry. Everything was very delicious and reasonably priced. Very generous portions too! We also tried the ginger and Jameson slushy! If you're a whisky fan, I would definitely give it a try. They had a variety of different entrees and appetizers to choose from. read more

I ordered delivery tonight and placed the order requesting the Papaya Salad extra spicy ...it wasn't at all and it was the size of a side salad. I also ordered the Seafood Clay Pot...this came lukewarm and had 2pieces of calamari, 3mussels and 3shrimp with a few carrots and bell peppers...not a $20 dish. I also asked for extra spices on the side...I got nothing. I understand delivery food not being hot for orders far away on a delivery bike...but we live a few blocks away and it was delivered by car. The two summer rolls were the only part of the meal that showed up worth the price that they were. After seeing the amazing reviews about this place...I'm definitely disappointed. read more

I was not very impressed with the service I received. My fried rice came out a little bit burnt but still eatable. Great price for the amount of food you receive. read more

This might just look like a normal bar but the food is Amazing! If you like Vietnamese or Thai food they have so many options! My best friend took me here when I was visiting Savannah and I would strongly recommend it over some of the other packed popular restaurants! read more

Loved this place! Visited at the end of October, they made great drinks, served on a copper counter. I got the Thai spring rolls, and the tom yum soup, both were great. One of the owners was tending the bar, she gave bits of historical insight about the location, and the city. I will be back! read more

We stumbled in here after bailing on The Grey due to the sheer rigidity of our frigid server. Boomys was great! Fried shrimp and calamari were awesome. Server was attentive. Great juke box too. It is kind of like a dive bar, but with great Thai food! read more

first thought was this is just a very loud bar... Supposed to have Tai food. Menu had physically some non-clear liquid on it. We ordered Green Curry and a Banh Mi. Didn't see any Asians preparing this, but this food was freaken awesome! Flavor off the chart. I haven't eaten an entire sandwich since I can remember and I finished this off, plus some of Emily's Curry and shrimp which was also very very good with the right amount of spice. I highly recommend this place as long as you are not looking for a formal setting to eat. Definitely going back on the next trip to Savannah. read more

Holy crap, this place is awesome. I ordered a 7.5 of spiciness on a scale of 1-6, and I totally got a 7.5 or more. It was delicious on top of that! The smoothie drinks were excellent, and their amber Ale was cheap and very tasty. Highly recommended! Everything we had was excellent! read more
