Bonchon South Riding - Yummy!!! - Korean Near Me - Chantilly, Virginia

My first time at Bonchon. Nice new place in South Riding, nice staff. Went around 2pm on a Sunday so was not busy. Greeted right away and sat. Waiter was nice, polite and smiled often. My kids and i ordered the Japche, Bulgogi and my youngest had the popcorn chicken. The Japche and Bulgogi were very good. We ate the plate clean. My youngest who had the popcorn chicken also finished his plate. A bit pricey for what u get, portion sizes are fair. Everything was very tasty and good but probably would not order popcorn chicken again because it was more small pieces of fried batter than chicken but everything else was fine. All in all, 2 adult meals and popcorn chicken with tip: $50, with no drinks, just water. Will go again sometime and have more Japche and try their infamous chicken wings. read more

Well what can I say other than I absolutely love their food. I've been eating here since they've opened their doors and can't see my self eating out anywhere else. I love their wings, they are fried crispy but not over cooked and the flavor is AMAZING! I've been to several other locations and this one is by far the best. I've eaten at BonChon Centreville hundreds of times. I was craving it again and stopped by for a pick up order at this location. I was so disappointed to the point that I don't want BonChon again. These are suppose to burn and they were less spicy than wings at a bar, barely any sauce and the meat was dry. I think I got the end of a batch or an old batch. Not pleasant. I've only ever had take out, but it is very good. Bonchon makes some good fried chicken! It can get pretty hot too. You can get rice and fries on the side, and this was the first place I ever had kimchi. The people on the phone or up front have always been real nice, and the orders have been 100% accurate. If you have never had Korean fried chicken, definitely give this place a try! 10/10 read more

I experienced the worst service I have ever received. I left a to-go box with around 10 piece wings and returned in less than 10 minutes but they already threw it in the trashcan. The worst part is that they got it from the trashcan and offered it to me and said it was okay. How is food from the trashcan okay? I was visiting a friend in Southriding and we all decided to go out to Bonchon for dinner. We had ordered two plates of their chicken...soy sauce and the spicy...I think the chicken was EXCELLENT...very crispy on the outside and the meat inside was moist. Also their French Fries were delicious!! The waiter/waitress were very helpful and friendly and the restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. Also I feel like the food here is not as good the fairfax bonchon. The spicy chicken is not even spicy. I love bonchon but not this one. Go to the fairfax one. I went to get the spicy wings today from this location for to go and I'm disappointed. It taste like regular fried chicken with no sauce. I can't taste any flavor. The spicy drums do not disappoint. There's one catch though ... If you go there on an off-peak time (e.g. - Lunch) you might have to wait 30 mins for them to come out of the fryer, so it's best to call ahead. They also have a great selection of traditional-ish korean dishes and a solid beer selection to boot. read more

Bonchon is a chain with restaurants all around. Their service is ok but a bit pricy compared to other chicken joints. The size or portion of the chicken is rather inconsistent. You either get really large pieces of chicken or very small which actually depends on flavor you order. My favorite is their spicy but their size is smaller compared to other flavors. I live in Loudoun Co. Virginia and I usually travel to the BonChon in South Riding Va. Yes, I travel to South Riding even though there are 3 BonChon near my home. One is 5 minutes away, another is 10 minutes away and the third one about 15 minutes away. The BonChon which is 15 minutes away is the one I ordered from for the first time a few days ago and I must tell you it was just "maybe ok, maybe!" I was so disappointed!!! Ordered two BonChon spicy chicken tacos and medium spicy chicken tenders, No way was the presentation like they prepare it at the South Riding location, but that wasn't the main issue, when I started to eat my meal, it was just all wrong, tasteless! Usually I can consume all 3 chicken taco's in one setting, at this setting I just finished one, the chicken tenders I ordered, I don't even want to talk about! No presentation and no blending taste? I'm done!!! Going to my South Riding location tonight, I was cheated out of my delicious meal, I'm still wanting Bonchon so I will go pick it up in South Riding and be rest assured that it will be perfect, just like EVERY SINGLE TIME I order it. read more

I was quickly seated, and approached within a few minutes by a server. I ordered my full meal at this time, and the meal arrived about 30 minutes later. I ordered their fried chicken...not something I'd expect was unusual or something that would take extra prep or digging out special ingredients. The server didn't apologize for the wait until about 20 minutes in, saying "they're working on it, sorry for the wait." When the food arrived, the server said "Thanks for your patience, I assure you it's worth it." Even if it was, this was in the heat of lunch hour...so she didn't have to convince me...she had to convince my boss, who wasn't able to take her word for it. The chicken was well flavored and the breading was crisp and had a cool zing to it. The chicken itself was pretty dry, and some bits of it had the consistency of a crouton. My mother has a very bad dairy allergy. The waiters and cooks had no idea what had dairy and what didn't. Typically Korean cuisine is not cooked with dairy so we proceeded with caution. We had the Bulgogi, Japchae, and the Udon Noodle soup. I really enjoyed the Japchae, the bulgogi was fair, and I was not a fan at all of the soup. Food was pricey for what we got. Over all the restaurant was clean and the wait staff was pleasant but unhelpful. Stopped by this place while scouting to get a late afternoon snack / lunch and the idea of spicy wings just sounded right. Ordered lunch wings combo platter with French fries as sidesaddle both arrived in less than 10 mins after placing the order. Fries were of modest portion for lunch and the wings had strong spicy flair as expected. Moved on to order chicken fried rice and an order of chicken sliders (we were party of 2) and both of the dishes exhilarated our taste buds. Service was good and seating patterns were spacious. OUTSTANDING experience at this Bonchon for an office lunch party (takeout order). I placed the order a day ahead of time and the owner agreed to have the food ready by 11:40am (10 minutes after opening) by having staff come in early to make chicken wings, and boneless wings, for our order for 40 people. They sent me a text message at 11am saying the food would be ready by 11:40, then followed up after I picked up the food with a note thanking me for our business. The food was ready on time, staff was extremely friendly, food was INCREDIBLE, and they even included containers of ranch dressing and napkins. We will be using this location again.
