    #4 Beef Hot Soup
    Johnson P.

One of my favorite places to get hot pot! I basically only come here during lunch time (for that free drink). Looks like there isn't a lot of food until you start eating it. Also the jelly they give you at the end is one of the best parts ! It is super tasty and refreshing! Portions are but the service is meh. Seems like all locations have poor service. You constantly have to ask for things like water refills, napkins, and more soup. Overall food is good, service is lacking.

We were all craving hot pot for lunch one day so we decided to try Boiling Point with my SIL. Portions are large here but the food itself is underwhelming, the broth is too spicy, the staff are pretty inattentive, and the prices are high so I'm not sure we'd come again. Drinks are good though. For our lunches we all got the Beef soup at the mild spice level. The portions are generous and each soup comes with tons of add ins like tomato, corn, mushroom, tofu and tofu skins, meat ball, fish cake, imitation crab, and a few little veggie options. The tofu and veggies were decent. And while the portion of beef provided was impressive, much of it was extremely chewy and fibrous so wasn't very enjoyable.  The mild spice level was still very spicy - so much so that it masks any potential flavor in the broth. And the water refills were infrequent so that made it worse lol. They were extremely busy so it's understandable - but maybe they should consider water pitchers at each table or a central water station that's self-serve.  Each person gets their own burner stove at the table - but there's not a way to adjust the temperature and the soup is just constantly boiling heavily and overcooking everything so I really didn't like that.  For our drinks, my SIL got a green tea (iced) that comes with the lunch and said she really enjoyed it. Hubby and I shared a brown sugar ginger tea (hot) and it had a nice flavor overall - very ginger-forward - hubby loved it but it was too sweet for my liking. The drinks were definitely the win of our experience lol. Staff were friendly when available but definitely seemed overwhelmed. The vibes are minimalist and cafeteria-like. And the tables are packed tight so it gets very noisy and feels overcrowded. They have a small parking lot to the side and there's also street parking in the area.

Boiling Point is probably the best hot pot spot in SGV. There's almost always a line whenever we go, but it's still worth it every time. The broth is flavorful, the portions are satisfying, and everything comes out quickly. The service is consistently good, and the staff are efficient even when it's busy. That's not easy to maintain. Definitely one of my go-to hot pot places .

Ordered the Japanese Miso hotpot. Very generous portion of meat. Soup was delicious!

10/12/25 Came around 7:30 PM on a Sunday and it was pretty crowded. We waited around 30 minutes to be seated. Food came out quick though. Standard boiling point taste. I got non spicy beef. They did run out or did not have the mutton though, which I was disappointed about. They also ran out of rice so we had to get noodles. They let you get extra cilantro + scallion herbs to sprinkle on your soup, but they ran out after giving two portions for the 6 of us to share. Service was pretty good despite how busy they were. They accommodated our requests for the promotion on how to charge the gift cards. The promo was get one free hot pot when you buy a $50 GC (that doesn't expire). A lid was missing from the sauces, which made me a feel a little uneasy about the cleanliness so one star off for that. The parking fills up quick but there is street parking.

This is my second time coming here and although I love the food at boiling point, I would avoid this location as they have shady business practices. Both times I ordered here the amount shown on the tip screen was different from what they charged me. The tip percentage that they display also does line up with the actual amount it should be. Please take a good at your receipt before you leave or manually put in your tip amount.

HUGE quantity of food. If you go at lunchtime you get the same amount of food for the same price, but you can get an additional free winter-melon or ice sweetened green tea. The meat at boiling point is very lean and not oily. The lamb was a bit too dry, the beef tasted better. I usually get the house special #1 or the lamb, both are good. The curry soup was surprisingly good too. Come with ALOT of ingredients and unlimited soup refills. The crispy dried beef flakes is not good. I've gotten it twice and both times reminded myself not to order it again next time haha guess I forgot. The stinky tofu was not good here. The portion was so tiny. This location is really small, about 1/4 the size of the Irvine location. HAPPY SOUPING!

Came on Friday with a group for dinner. No parking in the lot already and had to circle around on the side street. We didn't have a big group but still took a while before we were seated. Many groups sent a person to put their name down first and then the rest trickle in. Everyone kept asking about the wait and the waiters barely gave updates. A bit frustrating with the parking and the time it takes to get a table on a Friday night. The link to put down on the waiting list was not working and it became a paper list. I wonder if people would have the link and can put on the waitlist online. Finally got sat down and the waiter needed to be waived down to order and get refills of soup and water. We wanted a side dish and the only pork that is not spicy is the garlic one. Food was good portion and tasted good. They did not have the rose milk pot.

This place deserves more love! - Service: they are quick and helpful, they know how to organize big groups on waitlist which I appreciate. - Food: The food is yummy as always! Though price has increased but they gave us more meat than before, one thing is it's hotpot but they only give out extra soup for dine in only, for togo would be extra charge as well as the sauce. Beef will be my to-go flavor! - Ambiance: They changed location so not as many tables as before but the wait isnt that long on weekday, but for weekend, it'd be least 20'mins wait. Note: if the owner ever read this, I do hope to have waitlist online so it cut the time of waiting also be generous with sauce and soup for to go

What We Ordered: -#4 Beef Hot Pot $22.73 We were driving down San Gabriel Blvd and stumbled upon another Boiling Point! We didn't know this location existed, but apparently, it's been around for a few years. This location is a bit smaller than the others, but larger than the MPK one. They have their own parking lot with ample parking, even during the week. I wasn't in the mood for Boiling Point, but my wife ordered her usual, the #4 Beef, which is always consistently good. They have some tasty sauces here, and one is a bit spicy. They were running a promotion, and we received a free green tea, which was a nice touch. The service is much better here than at the MPK location. We would definitely return!

    Delicious!!

Today was the second time I had lunch at this Boiling Point. My friend and I came at noon and were quickly seated. We both ordered seafood and tofu hot soup, mild. I ordered the same as the last time, because I truly enjoyed it down to the last drop of soup. The seafood and tofu hot soup comes with pork slices, 2 shrimps, 2 kinds of fish balls, cuttlefish rings, 2 tiny clams, fish fillet, tofu, mushrooms, vermicelli, an egg, and green veggies. The soup is served over open flame and is literally boiling. You get a choice of either a bowl of rice or noodles. I got the rice, and no extra charge when I ask for the second bowl. The 3 kinds of dipping hot sauces are very delicious and addictive. Each order of hot pot comes with complimentary iced sweet green tea. Service was prompt. The waitress offered to refill the broth before we even had to ask someone. The restaurant isn't very large, but pretty comfortable. We were seated by the windows, and I prefer this over sitting in the middle. Parking lot is limited, but luckily I was able to get a parking spot on San Gabriel Blvd. 2 hours free parking. If you can't finish your hot pot, you can ask for a plastic container for to go. However, we did finish everything, so truly no need.

Ordered beef mild for pickup on a rainy day. This location didn't skip out on the meat portions. Came for a lunch special with a free winter melon tea with purchase of an entree. I've been to a bunch of boiling points and the beef milds were way too spicy for it to be a mild but this location got it right and had proper packaging of sauces on the side as well

Food is served within 10-15 minutes of ordering. Drinks can be added on for $2.50 when ordering meals and if you want to make it large they'll tack on extra 88 cents. The drinks do take a while to come out especially the teas bc they're freshly made behind the counter. Also, they seem to be so busy that it's hard to flag down servers unless they're brining food or drinks. The food is quite alright here and as expected for a HK / Canto style palate. Note they have 2 menus -- one that is bigger and more extensive, and a simpler one (photos are of the simpler menu). Prices are fair for the size of the dishes (they're not huge like other places but also most are under $15 a dish). We ordered the following and all was tasty: - sweet and sour pork ribs - egg over friend rice and gravy (the kids loved it) - seafood tofu clay pot - beef w mushrooms stir fry - yellow chicken Restrooms: they've got 2 separate ones. Decently clean, thankfully. Parking is FREE but quite difficult here in the plaza bc the lot is shared with so many other eateries in that McDonald's plaza. So either you wait for a spot to open or take your car down the block and walk a little.

Some pieces of the beef chuck were on the drier side but overall each piece of meat was fully marinated with the braise. Lunch on a Monday was full House. There's a lack of service because staff was busy, but overall this is a pretty solid Hong Kongnese Western Cafe.

My beef melt was simple and tasty, and the bread was perfectly crispy on the edges. It was the right amount of texture and meat without leaving you overstuffed. My mom enjoyed her BLT and mentioned that the bacon was cooked perfectly. We definitely want to come back for the simple comfort food that is here. My wife, mother-in-law, and I went to Moffett's for the "Family Meal" deal; we sat down, I quickly ordered a coke, and we place our order for the "Family Meal" deal. I was then told by our waitress that the "family meal" is for take-out orders only and not for indoor dining... Not good - the sign does not mention anything about take-out only, or take-out period, just "Family Meal." So, seriously disappointed, I paid for my coke, $6.57... yes, $6.57 for a single Coke and that was it... we proceeded to leave, but not until I mentioned the inconvenience the sign caused for a lack of clear and or detailed (explicit) information. BTW - the same sign that is posted inside is the same as posted outside on the window -- both do not indicate that the "Family Meal" is for take-out only. After pointing out the inconvenience to the supervisor about our travelling to Moffett's for the "Family Meal" and not being able to dine in, he called the owner. Apparently, the owner said we could eat-in, but we'd have to eat out of takeout boxes... not happy with that either and not happy for the lack of real courtesy and understanding, we decided simply to leave and go eat somewhere else. Unfortunately for Moffett's, that turned out to be a lost sale for their business and a loss of a tip to the waitress. OK, I used to like Moffett's a lot, going back some 20 years; however, over the last few years, since Covid, I've only been back just a few times. I think with pricings, Moffett's best days are now part of the past., as with many once great places in the SGV that are now long gone. Lack of customers and high prices, not a good sign and hard to recover from... it's not going to help bring in customers. I honestly like Moffett's and would hope they find a way to make it; make it more affordable, including offering dine-in 'Family Meal' deals, and do a better job at offering genuine hospitality and being thankful when customers arrive; being more accommodating, considerate, grateful, and excited to have diners who want to dine in... it is not too late change the policy. And BTW -- $6.57 for a small Coke at Moffett's is outrageous - the same Coke we ended up getting later were $3.50 each... however, I paid the $6.57 for the Coke, and at the very least, that was all Moffett's got from this disappointed customer... also, it is prices like this that are driving customers away. Anyway, I truly wanted to enjoy my time with my family at Moffett's but because of a missed opportunity to enjoy a family meal together at Moffett's, it didn't happen. Maybe I'll be back again some other day; hopefully then the experience will be far better... let's hope so.
