    Japanese Miso Soup
    Lillian L.

Came here with a friend for lunch yesterday. This was our first-time trying this eatery chain. We got the mild beef soup (5/5) and the non-spicy Japanese Miso soup (5/5). Both were delicious. Parking in their small parking lot was easy since we arrived early (around 11:10 AM) and noticed that there's convenient street parking as well if you come early. This location does get busy during normal lunchtime. Would definitely return to try a different soup next time (when the weather is even colder).

First time at this location, and it was pretty good. We came right when it opened at 11 a.m. on Saturday and were the first customers. It looks like if you arrive before 12 p.m., there's no wait. After that, people start lining up. The food was on par with other Boiling Point locations. Service was fast, and everything tasted good. Overall, a solid spot. Note: Check Boiling Point's Instagram, they often post influencer codes in their posts for a free side dish. I was able to get a free cumin lamb, which is about $7. Parking: They have a medium-sized lot.

I went here on Saturday and the wait was over an hour which was not surprising because it was cold and sprinkling that day. Usually when the weather is cooler and rains, the wait is usually longer. Once I got seated, I ordered the Mild Beef hot pot and honey green milk tea. My honey green milk tea was very sweet so note to self, next time, ask for less sweet. My mild beef hot pot was really flavorful and the portion was more than enough. Sadly, they didn't give us the chia tea jelly at the end. Service could be better but the workers were really busy trying to clean the tables so the next group can come in.

Boiling point just isn't the same anymore. At first they increased the price, but they also gave more meat but now its expensive and back to normal meat portions. The spicy fermented tofu wasnt as good as it was before. It was just spicy tofu. Nothing stinky about it. Their sauce container got better but the spoon is still small so you have to scoop alot to fill the sauce dish, But they have shrunk that as well and i live soy garlic and bean paste for dipping. Its been a few years since they made their mild as spicy as their medium back then. Now its not too bad. I usually get no spice but i was able to handle the mild this tine. At least they still give free tea for lunch. The thing they gave at the end also isnt as good as before. Parking in small but there is street parking so you might have a bit of a walk to get here.

We were all craving hot pot for lunch one day so we decided to try Boiling Point with my SIL. Portions are large here but the food itself is underwhelming, the broth is too spicy, the staff are pretty inattentive, and the prices are high so I'm not sure we'd come again. Drinks are good though. For our lunches we all got the Beef soup at the mild spice level. The portions are generous and each soup comes with tons of add ins like tomato, corn, mushroom, tofu and tofu skins, meat ball, fish cake, imitation crab, and a few little veggie options. The tofu and veggies were decent. And while the portion of beef provided was impressive, much of it was extremely chewy and fibrous so wasn't very enjoyable.  The mild spice level was still very spicy - so much so that it masks any potential flavor in the broth. And the water refills were infrequent so that made it worse lol. They were extremely busy so it's understandable - but maybe they should consider water pitchers at each table or a central water station that's self-serve.  Each person gets their own burner stove at the table - but there's not a way to adjust the temperature and the soup is just constantly boiling heavily and overcooking everything so I really didn't like that.  For our drinks, my SIL got a green tea (iced) that comes with the lunch and said she really enjoyed it. Hubby and I shared a brown sugar ginger tea (hot) and it had a nice flavor overall - very ginger-forward - hubby loved it but it was too sweet for my liking. The drinks were definitely the win of our experience lol. Staff were friendly when available but definitely seemed overwhelmed. The vibes are minimalist and cafeteria-like. And the tables are packed tight so it gets very noisy and feels overcrowded. They have a small parking lot to the side and there's also street parking in the area.

Boiling Point is probably the best hot pot spot in SGV. There's almost always a line whenever we go, but it's still worth it every time. The broth is flavorful, the portions are satisfying, and everything comes out quickly. The service is consistently good, and the staff are efficient even when it's busy. That's not easy to maintain. Definitely one of my go-to hot pot places .

One of my favorite places to get hot pot! I basically only come here during lunch time (for that free drink). Looks like there isn't a lot of food until you start eating it. Also the jelly they give you at the end is one of the best parts ! It is super tasty and refreshing! Portions are but the service is meh. Seems like all locations have poor service. You constantly have to ask for things like water refills, napkins, and more soup. Overall food is good, service is lacking.

10/12/25 Came around 7:30 PM on a Sunday and it was pretty crowded. We waited around 30 minutes to be seated. Food came out quick though. Standard boiling point taste. I got non spicy beef. They did run out or did not have the mutton though, which I was disappointed about. They also ran out of rice so we had to get noodles. They let you get extra cilantro + scallion herbs to sprinkle on your soup, but they ran out after giving two portions for the 6 of us to share. Service was pretty good despite how busy they were. They accommodated our requests for the promotion on how to charge the gift cards. The promo was get one free hot pot when you buy a $50 GC (that doesn't expire). A lid was missing from the sauces, which made me a feel a little uneasy about the cleanliness so one star off for that. The parking fills up quick but there is street parking.

Food is always consistent and service has been really attentive. They were really quick with attending to our needs and refilled our water constantly. Food came out fast and taste great like always!

This is my second time coming here and although I love the food at boiling point, I would avoid this location as they have shady business practices. Both times I ordered here the amount shown on the tip screen was different from what they charged me. The tip percentage that they display also does line up with the actual amount it should be. Please take a good at your receipt before you leave or manually put in your tip amount.

Hot pots and a side of garlic pork

Came on Friday with a group for dinner. No parking in the lot already and had to circle around on the side street. We didn't have a big group but still took a while before we were seated. Many groups sent a person to put their name down first and then the rest trickle in. Everyone kept asking about the wait and the waiters barely gave updates. A bit frustrating with the parking and the time it takes to get a table on a Friday night. The link to put down on the waiting list was not working and it became a paper list. I wonder if people would have the link and can put on the waitlist online. Finally got sat down and the waiter needed to be waived down to order and get refills of soup and water. We wanted a side dish and the only pork that is not spicy is the garlic one. Food was good portion and tasted good. They did not have the rose milk pot.

    Stinky tofu
    Kelly C.

HUGE quantity of food. If you go at lunchtime you get the same amount of food for the same price, but you can get an additional free winter-melon or ice sweetened green tea. The meat at boiling point is very lean and not oily. The lamb was a bit too dry, the beef tasted better. I usually get the house special #1 or the lamb, both are good. The curry soup was surprisingly good too. Come with ALOT of ingredients and unlimited soup refills. The crispy dried beef flakes is not good. I've gotten it twice and both times reminded myself not to order it again next time haha guess I forgot. The stinky tofu was not good here. The portion was so tiny. This location is really small, about 1/4 the size of the Irvine location. HAPPY SOUPING!

This place deserves more love! - Service: they are quick and helpful, they know how to organize big groups on waitlist which I appreciate. - Food: The food is yummy as always! Though price has increased but they gave us more meat than before, one thing is it's hotpot but they only give out extra soup for dine in only, for togo would be extra charge as well as the sauce. Beef will be my to-go flavor! - Ambiance: They changed location so not as many tables as before but the wait isnt that long on weekday, but for weekend, it'd be least 20'mins wait. Note: if the owner ever read this, I do hope to have waitlist online so it cut the time of waiting also be generous with sauce and soup for to go

We had beef, lamb, and pork slices for hotpot which we ordered 5 each per order. We had two pots original and one spicy. The meat slices were very thin so cooking time wasn't long and we paired it with various sauces, so if you make a good sauce it'll be even better. The buffet selection definitely changed, there's more hot foods and they no longer have mini sausages. I do enjoy their char siu and their varieties. Staff were pretty attentive with making sure our tables are cleared and if we need more meat. Since we were in a private room, they still came by to check on us. Overall, I did enjoy this place and would come again! I think not everyone liked how thin the meat was sliced but I'm fine with it. Ice creams costs money as well.

I'm deeply disappointed with the decline in cleanliness and overall quality of this establishment…read moreover the years. What was once a delightful place to visit has steadily deteriorated, and my recent visit was the final straw. As someone who has worked in food service, I understand the significance of proper sanitation and food safety practices. What I witnessed was truly disturbing. Employees were wearing the same pair of gloves while performing various unrelated tasks without changing them. I observed staff handling dirty items, picking up debris from the floor, pushing dirty carts, touching shared surfaces, using their phones, and even making physical contact with one another all the while continuing to wear the same gloves when handling customer items. Gloves are designed to prevent contamination, not spread it. Wearing the same contaminated gloves throughout an entire shift defeats their purpose and creates serious cross-contamination. There seemed to be a complete lack of awareness of basic food safety standards. The dining area was equally disappointing. The menus were visibly greasy and oily, as if they hadn't been cleaned in ages. During slower periods, most restaurants take the opportunity to wipe down menus, sanitize surfaces, and maintain cleanliness throughout the establishment. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case here. The salad bar was in a state of disarray. Ingredients were scattered, vegetables were mixed into the wrong containers, and food was spilling over the sides. The entire area looked neglected and unorganized. Instead of appearing fresh and inviting, it looked messy and unsanitary. To add insult to injury, much of the dishware appeared dirty. Plates, bowls, and utensils had oily residue and didn't look properly cleaned before being put back into service. There's nothing more unsettling than wondering whether the dishes you're eating from are actually clean. Dining out should be a pleasant experience, but this establishment fell short on multiple fronts. The lack of sanitation practices, visible cross-contamination, dirty menus, messy food stations, and unclean dishware left me feeling disgusted rather than satisfied. Given this disappointing experience, I won't be returning. It's disheartening to witness such a noticeable decline in standards, and I hope management takes these concerns seriously to prevent any potential health risks.

Drinks and ice cream are included, which makes the experience even better. The parking lot is spacious, the service is friendly, and the meat is served quickly. My only complaint is that the prices have continued to go up over the years. Even so, I still enjoy coming back because of the quality, variety, and overall dining experience.

Great japanese style hotpot, as the name suggests. Service is warm, friendly and fast. Disclaimer first, i'm a huge fan of chinese style hotpot. Luckily all that shabu offers a selection of broth and sauces. They are true japanese style, so don't expect mala here, even the chili oil is a bit hidden on containers a bit away from the sauce bar. I tried the spicy beef broth, it has miso flavor and slightly tangy undertone. It has heat, but not spicy at all. The spicy pine sauce and wasabi ponzu (the best!) fulfills my search for heat in this place. All the sauces (except sesame sauce) has acidity/tangyness in it. The meat are good quality and very thin so it's ready in just a few dips. The brisket is fatty, and it's my favorite but only at this place thanks to the acidic profile that cuts through the rich fats. The short plate is very thin and tender, the flat iron steak is more lean. The chuck eye is kinda the middle ground. Unfortunately lamb only served as dinner menu. The vegetable and mushrooms bar have adequate variety, but they only have two kinds of tofu which is soft tofu and fried tofu pockets. No beancurds/tofu skin. They have more selection in seafood though. There's ice cream, soda fountain, green tea and black tea, and even buffet food like fried rice and wonton etc. Overall it's a well-priced hotpot for good quality ingredients, with japanese style broths. And the best thing is they accepts solo diners.

The meat selection is fairly small, with only about five different types of beef and pork to choose from. The vegetables and sauce bar are all self-serve, so you'll need to head up and grab everything yourself. The biggest highlight is definitely the quality of the meat. Compared to a lot of other AYCE hot pot places, the meat here is noticeably better. It's well-marbled, tender, and delicious. The vegetables and other sides were fresh and good as well. I'd say the sauce bar is decent, I've been to plenty of other AYCE spots with a much larger selection, but this one gets the job done. Overall, the food is good, and I usually come here for special occasions. It's a little more expensive than other AYCE hot pot restaurants, but I think the higher-quality meat makes it worth the extra cost. If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend making a reservation since the wait for walk-ins can get pretty long. Parking: Easy. There's a large parking lot with plenty of spaces.

They offer premium and prime options for their AYCE hot pot. Their prime menu was $52.95 and offered 9 different soup bases, 17 meat options, self serve bar filled with veggies, noodles and meat balls, drink stations and ice cream. I got the split pot with sukiyaki and jelly golden chicken broth. The sukiyaki was slightly sweet and full of umami flavor. The jelly golden chicken was flavorful and comforting. You can tell they boil down chicken bones from the chicken fat in the soup. They have 3 meats on the prime menu that were wagyu. All 3 were super tender and required little to no chewing. The abalone were massive and firm yet tender. We got the shrimp paste as well which was flavorful and filled with chunks of shrimp. The veggies were fresh and I enjoyed the variety. My favorites were the crown daisy, spinach, enoki mushrooms and Napa. They even have the sweet potato wide rice noodles that are slimy and chewy. Not a lot of AYCE places have it so it's a rare find. The staff here speaks Mandarin, Cantonese and English so ordering was not an issue. They have a small lot in the back with about a dozen spots which wasn't an issue on the week day.

No wait and attentive service. The veggie bar is well stocked with a variety of options. Ordering was easy, pick level of pricing. Bowl type, Soup base and up to 6 meat at a time. The owner was really nice, she helped us take a pic and also took a pic for the photo wall in the back. I had split sukiayki and the mala spicy soup, both good. I also tried the tonkatsu, it was tasty. Meat took some time to come out but seafood is very fresh. The shrimp and mussel from the premium menu is very fresh. The drinks and ice cream are included. I love thrifty ice cream, with Rite Aid gone, I savor every chance I get to have Coconut Pineapple ice cream. I had the canned Herbal Tea and Milk tea, both are very good. The herbal tea was sweet, almost like dates. I will definitely come back next time I'm in the area.
