Met up with some friends for hot pot on a fairly hot day. One half pot of Maia spicy which I didn't bother to try as I value my stomach and behind and our side which was pork bone with medium spicy. Another table had tomato and mushroom with no spice whatsoever. The tomato was base soup was actually very tasty. Aside from the soup base everything else is self serve and at the end they count the sticks to see what your charge is. I felt the meat sticks for $0.87 cents were kinda a ripoff since it was a little piece of meat at the end of the stick. For the amount of money I paid I could've gone somewhere else for full service and better quality plus AYCE. The place is clean and seems new with ample parking lot.

What We Ordered: -Pork Bone Broth/House Spicy Beef Tallow Soup Base (Mild Spicy) $13.99 -3 Dipping Sauces (Self-Service) $5.85 -17 Sticks @ $.47 $7.95 -House Special Sliced Beef $9.98 -1 Green Tray $3.95 -1 Red Tray of Dumplings $9.95 Total $51.37 We've passed by this place a million times. I've always been intrigued about the food. I recently looked it up and looked alright. I told the wife about it and she was down to give it a try. We both love Hot Pot! First you must select which broth you want, we select pork bone broth and house spicy beef tallow (mild spicy) and the price costs $13.99. They will constant refill the broth if you ask. You pick the skewers you want to eat and cook them in the broth. Each stick cost $.47. That's not a bad price. They have They charge $1.98 per a person to make your own dipping sauce. It may seem pricy, but its unlimited. You can charge the sauces several times. You can also eat orange slices, pineapple chunks, peanuts, crackers and other snacks. It's unlimited for $1.98 per a person which is really a good value. Our son enjoyed cooking the skewers in the hot pot. It was enjoyable family dinner. I would definitely come back here again with the family!

Spicy beef maocai The aroma hits your nose right away when it's served! The ingredients in the pot are super rich: beef, tripe, broccoli, tofu, noodles, meatballs, cabbage... One bowl is enough to satisfy you! The spiciness is just right, the kind of spicy and spicy without being pungent, I love it! Beef vermicelli soup It belongs to the light school, the beef is stewed soft, the soup is very fresh, and the vermicelli is not mushy. It is especially comfortable to eat with a bowl of white rice~ The side dish of the day is cold kelp shreds + garlic edamame, refreshing and greasy

Just a reminder this is the best hot pot place you'll ever find.

This is the best hot pot you'll ever find, the quality of the food is the best for the price, the service and ambiance are perfect with plenty of parking space for you to park. You won't find many places open this late, so normally this is a place where all bosses go to eat after work because it's the only one available at a cheap price. If you're complaining about $0.87 per stick I recommend you stay home and don't come out to eat.

Cool self serve hotpot here. You grab a tray and fill it up with whatever items you want. The server came to greet us as soon as we sat down to ask what 2 broths we wanted and then took the menu with her so we never got to see the pricing lol. Afterward we discovered that the sticks are $2.50 each. Which is crazy because there's sticks with a 1/4 piece of a button mushroom on them lol. Great profit margin. We got the pork bone broth and tomato broth. Both were really good. They have a great selection of items to choose from and I liked being able to physically see all the items and choose what I wanted. Sauce station was decent but nothing crazy. The only thing was I didn't see any small bowls or soup spoons besides the tiny sauce cups. I like to be able to have a little bowl of the broth at the end because it's so flavorful after having cooked everything in it. But wasn't able to besides with the huge ladle lol. Great late night spot.

This place is amazing! Everything here is such high quality. You pick a base combo (their pots are half-and-half style) and then self-serve the meats, veggies, etc! They have them all labeled with different colors for the tray items (each color tray is a specific price), and each stick item is 50 cents (some stick items have two sticks in them and are $1). We got a variety of stick items so we could try more things, along with some baby cabbage. My favorites overall were the beef skewers, particularly the pineapple beef and leek with beef. My favorite part of the meal, however, has to be the sides. Usually, at hot pot places, the sides are there to just fill you up. However, these sides are freshly homemade (the shredded potatoes remind me of my mom's cooking) and such high quality! We kept going back for more. This place is such a steal, I wish it were closer to me.

The reason for this 3 star review is because their spicy broth was just way too oily. It seems that they didn't stir the broth before putting it into our pot because it was just a thick layer of oil. I also think that paying $2 to get access to the sauce bar is pretty stupid to me. Their skewers are good though, especially their fish cake, fish ball, and the enoki mushrooms. There's not alot of variety here so I wish they had more items here. I ended up paying roughly around $120 dollars with tax and tip which is practically AYCE prices. I would MUCH rather go get AYCE than eat here.

This was a very cool concept for skewers! You should definitely come and experience it. When you first get seated, they will explain to you the process. You order your broth and then go to the self serve area to pick your vegetables and skewers. They charge $0.40 per skewer stick (some meats have two sticks) and charge a set amount for vegetables, noodles, and other dishes depending on the color of letters on the tray. The trays can range from $3.95 to $16.95 each depending on what you pick. There is also a set broth charge for the table of $12.99 and a $1.99 per person charge for the sled serve sauce bar (which includes peanuts, chips, seaweed salad, and watermelon). We got the half tomato and half spicy pork tallow (medium spicy) for the broth. My fiance enjoyed the tomato broth very much and I enjoyed the spicy pork tallow. I chose the beef skewers, sausages, bamboo, broccoli, fish cake tofu, and a few other dishes. They were all really tasty. Service was great. They always came around to make sure your broth was topped off, refilled your waters, and brought you extra napkins. All in all, we had a great experience and definitely would return!

There's many skewer places opening up around the SGV, but this one is slightly different since the skewers are cooked in a hotpot instead of grilled. Located in the Jade Plaza, this is the only shop that's open in there. Pretty cool concept, but the price of everything adds up if you're not paying attention. Essentially, you're automatically paying $13 for the soup base (per pot), plus an additional $2/person for the self serve sauce station. Each skewer is $0.40, but some of the skewers (mainly the beef skewers) have 2 skewers in them, signifying $0.80/skewer. They also have trays of veggies, meat and seafood, and the prices of these are color-coded. You go up and grab whatever items you like, and after you're done, someone will come and tally up all the trays/bowls/skewer sticks. Majority of the items in the fridge are labeled in Chinese. If you don't know how to read Chinese, it might be tricky trying to figure out the marinated meat skewers. The beef-wrapped pickled veggie skewers were tender and my favorite. I also liked the scallops and abalone ($10/tray). They self serve sauce station also has some appetizers/fruits that you can grab. The watermelons were so sweet! Overall, this is a fun place to dine if you're in the mood for "finger food", wanting to try a variety of items, and have time to enjoy your meal. It might not be the best if you're looking for something quick.

Pork bone and tomato soup base.

Came by around 5:30PM on a Thursday and was able to get a table pretty quickly. Though, the rush happened around 6PM! It's a pretty simple concept. You order your preferred soup base, go create your sauce, and pick out your meats, veggies or skewers! I did have an issue with differentiating the meats as I do not speak or read Chinese but the workers are kind enough to help you out if you need any assistance. I feel like skewers + hotpot is going to be the next big trend and I can totally see why. This place is priced reasonably and the quality of the meat is what you pay for.

When we arrived on a Saturday night, the restaurant was moderately busy, but the wait wasn't outrageous. Our server did a great job explaining how everything worked. It's 90 minutes of all-you-can-eat for $35.00 per person, and you're allowed to order up to three types of meat per round. The restaurant is set up well. Off to the left is a self-serve station stocked with vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, seafood, and other hot pot essentials. Drinks are also self-serve, and they even have a soft-serve ice cream machine if you want something sweet after your meal. One thing I really appreciated was the variety of hot foods available. They offered items you don't typically find at a standard shabu restaurant, which was a nice surprise. I also noticed a sign explaining that the hot food selection changes regularly, so each visit may offer something a little different. There's also a dipping sauce station where you can customize your sauces exactly how you like them. I ordered the house broth, which had a mild, lingering spice. It added plenty of flavor without leaving that overpowering heat that lingers long after you're done eating. My partner chose the miso broth, which was rich, creamy, and earthy--you really can't go wrong with a good miso broth. The meat is sliced fresh after you place your order, and you can definitely tell the difference. The slices were tender and cooked beautifully in the broth. They also offer four different noodle options. I went with the classic egg noodles this time, but next visit I'll probably try the buckwheat noodles since it's been a while since I've had a good bowl with them. When you're finished, you simply pay near the entrance, making the checkout process quick and easy. My only real complaint was that it was a little difficult to flag someone down when I needed more broth added to my pot. I like keeping enough broth in the pot so it doesn't begin to scorch the bottom, and it took a bit longer than expected to get someone's attention. Other than that, I really enjoyed the overall experience. The staff gives you plenty of space to enjoy your meal without constantly interrupting, making it a great place to catch up with family and friends. The music was at a comfortable volume, allowing conversations and laughter to fill the room without having to talk over loud speakers. One thing to keep in mind if you're coming with a large group: the largest table I saw comfortably seated six people. Since the tables are bolted to the floor, larger parties will likely need to split between multiple tables. Overall, I'd definitely come back. Between the fresh meats, customizable broths and sauces, the rotating hot food selection, and the relaxed atmosphere, All That Shabu is a great spot if you're looking for quality hot pot in a laid-back setting. At $35.00 per person, I thought it was a great value. With tax and tip, our total came to $92 for two people, which felt very reasonable for an all-you-can-eat meal with fresh ingredients and plenty of variety. I'd happily recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing hot pot experience with friends or family.

My only complaint is that the prices have continued to go up over the years. Even so, I still enjoy coming back because of the quality, variety, and overall dining experience.

I read reviews which expressed frustration over the service, and I felt like that helped manage my expectations. I know it's a very tough time for restaurants, and I hope they are able to smooth things over soon. We were greeted when entered and we waited a bit to get seated. We were seated at a very large table, which felt funny since it was just three of us. It took some time to get menus. I walked up to grab them, but staff said they would bring it over. Once we ordered, food was quick to come out. Refill requests initially were promptly responded to, but as the first round of customers ended their meals, the service was backed up. It took some time to get refills and the check. Luckily we weren't in a hurry. The menu isn't entirely clear, so we had a couple ordering hiccups. Generally, easy problems to resolve. My family and I enjoyed the food. The vegetables, meat, and sauces tasted good. I really liked their goma dare (sesame sauce), which is my favorite part of shabu shabu. The brown rice portion was substantial, but the rice was reheated and dry. The ramen portion, while tasty was small, like ~1/3 of the rice portion. I personally, like to eat the carb throughout the meal, which means ordering more. The space is large with a lot of hard surfaces. I wouldn't say it is a quiet space--it is good for groups. We also sat closer to the door, so my elder family members were a bit cold while we waited. However, once the burners were going, it didn't feel as cold. The three of us ate for ~90 without tip, which can make sense for folks who don't want to pay $55pp for AYCE dinner. However, I think AYCE lunches at other restaurants during the week are a better value and can have smoother service. Just like many things in this world, my experience isn't black and white. There were things I liked and things that could be improved. I think it's worth a shot for others to try, as long as they can be open minded about the experience and patient.
