The food is pretty much the same as their other locations. Wasn't feeling too well (I blame the change of weather for that) so we decided to try this place. We were really looking for a good hotpot near Glendale. We got there and the place was packed. We still waited a good 15mins before being seated. The place is small but modern comfy feel. We were given a cup of water and a small seaweed with garlic appetizer. It was gone in a few seconds. Lol. I got the thai fusion in mild. And he got Japanese miso in mild with an upgrade of Angus beef. My order came with some shrimp, clams, crab legs, lots of veggies (mushrooms, cabbage, etc) and a good portion of thinly sliced pork. The broth was flavorful yet...their mild version seems spicy for me. Good thing I didn't get the medium which was my first choice. His order came with crab legs, fish fillet, lots of veggies, udon noodles, and a lot of thinly sliced angus beef. The hotpot did hit the spot. It comes with white or brown rice as well. I got the brown rice since I'm trying to control my carbs intake so didn't really eat my rice. Service was great. Someone always comes to you to ask you if you needed anything or something else. BP! Why did it take me so long to realize that there was a boiling point so close by?! When I walked past it I couldn't believe it. There it was my favorite hot pot restaurant and it was so close by. I originally was a regular at the Boiling Point in Artesia and I loved it so much. When I walked into this location for the first time I saw someone very familiar that greeted me. It was JEREL! He originally worked at the Artesia restaurant when I use to go. Jerel was as always super friendly and extremely helpful in explaining the difference between all of the location menus. He explained that some locations don't sell the famous fermented tofu and that this specific location had the tomato delight pot that wasn't available in other restaurants. He also informed me that this location was a little unique because of the partnership with the business next door Jin Tea. For those of you that don't know you can ask for the water pitcher if a small cup of water is not sufficient for you. The food is amazing in flavor and not heavy in any way. The broth is mild but flavorful and you could choose the amount of spiciness. They have different add-ons like a raw egg or even Wok noodles. The dipping sauce is at every table and is a must to enhance the flavor of every bite. This specific location also offers a slice of cheese to add on top of your boiling hot pot that melts into the protein and veggies. I brought a friend here last night who's never had Taiwanese hot pot. Fortunately, the stinky tofu and pig intestine didn't deter him from ordering. I've been to other BP locations before, but this one had a very comfortable ambience to it. To the more important part, I got the BP house special, which essentially comes with sliced pork, tofu, enoki mushrooms, intestine, meat balls, veggies, and the signature branded fish cake. My buddy got the Angus Beef, which was also delicious. We both ordered additional meat. The ingredients all tasted pretty fresh. The broth is soothing also. The service here is awesome. Our server Justyce was very helpful and always asked us how everything was tasting, whether we needed more fire or soup, etc. The staff was also kind enough to provide change for the parking meters when I needed a little extra time to satisfy my gluttony. read more

They sat us down and we literally waited 20 minutes to have a menu given to us. My friend had to ask for menus because no one acknowledged us since we sat down. When we were getting our orders taken, the server didn't ask if it was our first time there or gave any suggestions on what the favorites were so we were clueless. My husband wanted to change his order while the server was still there but he was rushing us so we felt uncomfortable to do so. Our food came super fast like in 5 minutes so that was the only good thing. I ordered the Beef Soup but there was barely any noodles in there. We kept seeing waiters going around to refill water cups but didn't come to us while we were dying of the spicy soup. Came from the east coast and have heard great reviews about BP & wanted to give it a try! I think the food is a little overrated. I've had the Taiwanese spicy bowl, and there isn't much flavor to the bowl besides it being spicy. Like many other spicy foods, it's also extremely oily so keep that in mind. I'm writing this review the morning after and my stomach doesn't feel too great. I would not get the Taiwanese Spicy again. However, my family ordered cream curry, angus beef and tender lamb as well. I've had a little bit of each and each one was good in its own way. These other three flavors I would be willing to try again. What made the experience so bad was the wait. I visited on a Saturday night with a party of 5. From getting a ticket to actually sitting down took about a good 1 hour and 15 minutes at least. After the wait it was hard to like the place, especially since the food was no where near impressive. BP does have great staff though, super attentive, helpful and friendly. If there was no wait on a weekday I would probably give it a try again. I wouldn't spend another minute waiting for BP. read more

Customer service definitely suck!One occasion, they cooked our non-spicy order in a spicy dish. We have non-spicy eaters (ie. kids) in our party. This store is the concept store. So what that means to me is the ingredients looks better, you get a side dish wood ear mushroom to start, there's no stinky tofu, and it's slightly more expensive. Fair for opening a store in old town. If you've been to boiling point that's the difference, and the tea store next door seems to be the same owner since their signs look identical. It seems there are a lot of options for single serving hot pot and they give you the option of adding additional meat or sides here. I don't think it's​ necessary but I could see a couple split one order and adding meat to make it a full meal. Food was good, service was attentive and I'd come back. Really weird they don't serve their staple of stinky tofu since that's what boiling point is known for? But it's still good hot pot. Need a rec? Angus beef is classic, pick your heat. Love heat? I examine it closely because I was like nooooo freakin wayyyyy. Unfortunately, it was a baby cockroach. I told the worker, and they offered me a new pot and it will also be comp. I agreed. As I was eating the second pot, I was looking at each bite I was taking and then I found another one.... at this point, I was just so disgusted I completely lost my appetite. Then I just stopped eating and waited for my friends to finish... and then one of friends found one in her pot as well. I'm not really sure how boiling point does their cooking but maybe the cockroaches were just in the big pot of soup? Is it me, or does this boiling point taste a bit better than other locations? The ingredients taste a lot more fresh. I'm not sure if I was just hungry or what, but this location has fresher ingredients. It is a couple of dollars more expensive than the other locations and this location also does not serve green or black tea with lunch. You have to order the tea separately. Also, they give you the option between brown and white rice and not white rice or noodles. They don't have the vermicelli option like the other locations. I got the Japanese miso hot pot! (My favorite.) We don't have a boiling point back at home, so we knew this was a must have before leaving Cali! The closest one that we usually go to is in Seattle. (We're from Portland.) The service at this location was good! Our waiter was very friendly, and the food came out quick. I was just a little bit sad because I asked for it to be medium spice and it came out with no spice at all. :( but it's all good! That's why they have the little condiments on the side! They also had Jin teas which was pretty cool. We got day and night, and love potion. The drinks itself are very pretty and instagrammable, but they taste just alright. I was excited about this concept just because I love meat and soup, but the entire experience was a slight disappointment. Note: many if not all of the soup flavoring includes nuts. You order the style of soup and the meat you want. Then, a wok of soup arrives upon an open flame. That was pretty cool, but I soon realized that the soup got super hot! The flame is a gel cylinder so it's not possible to regulate the heat. I found that it can overcook noodles because it is boiling, but if you remove the heat, the soup will get colder.
