Finally got a chance to take my parents and family here after trying it out with a friend. Small little family owned cafe that is lively and bustling with laughter and good eats. My dad had a hard time picking with so many choices and ended up getting the chicken curry katsu with egg and the handmade meatball soup to try. My mom got the combo chicken steam rice with silkie chicken herbal soup and herbal jelly. Hubby got chicken wings and roti with curry. I got sausage and pork belly steam rice with silkie chicken herbal soup and upgraded my drink to sea salt foam coffee (love how it's no sweetened). Hubby and dad go the Macau coffee and that was excellent too! Got the double milk skin steamed pudding and the tofu pudding at the end to try and both were so smooth and silky in texture and very lightly sweetened. We did have to wait a bit to get seated since the place isn't very big, but service was quick and friendly. Definitely a place to go for quick eats that's delicious and decently priced.

Y.our cafe came up in my search for Japanese curry, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the chicken katsu curry, but it leaned more toward a Chinese-style preparation rather than traditional Japanese katsu curry like you'd find at Curry House. It felt more like a Cantonese café interpretation than authentic Japanese curry. The service was decent, especially if you speak Cantonese. Communication seemed smoother for those customers. The ambiance is that of a small, mom-and-pop café which was simple and casual. Overall, it wasn't quite what I was looking for in terms of Japanese curry. There are better options out there if you're specifically craving authentic Japanese-style katsu curry.

Really cute little cafe. There was a pretty good combo special that I ordered that included katsu rice + a drink. Not bad, but it also didn't blow me away. Service was good and quick. Decent amount of seating was available.

    Cantonese Cured Meat Steamed Rice

I discovered Y.our Cafe while browsing this side of town, a side I rarely venture to. Surprisingly, this was right between H Mart and torotea, two well-known spots in this side of town. How was it missed? Long streets with well-known gems, that's how. Parking was fairly easy either on the streets or in the large lot in the back. I had their Cantonese Cured Meat Steamed Rice, and this is honestly THE solution to the clay pot rice for one, something that is difficult to find. (Most places, you'll want to have a party of at least 3.) What's impressive is that they've captured a way to reproduce the dish and all its authentic flavors without the clay pot - and serving size for one, the sweet and savory, the perfect combination. Like most spots, service was absent after the entree was served, though that's understandable, since this was a restaurant-cafe hybrid. There are other classic, authentic, ethnic staples here to recommend on the menu as well, for those interested.

Cured meat pot and moral mushroom soup with herbal jelly turtle--part of the set

My google map GPS brought me to the backdoor of this authentic cafe that has the loveliest herbal soups and some tasty clay pot rice bowls. The restaurant was warm, but it smelled of really delicious foods brewing. The staff is very welcoming and our waiter wanted to make sure we had a good experience so he made sure we would be satisfied with our meals including letting us know that the dessert (herbal jelly turtle with a glaze of honey) that came with the set meal would be pretty bitter and offered to swap it out for a soda, but we decided to stick with the cute jello. I got the cured meats pot that had chinese sausage and small cured pork belly slices. It came with a sauce you can drizzle over the meal for additional flavor. I liked the cured meats but they definitely tasted a little different than the lap cheong I'm used to. The highlight of the meal was definitely the moral mushroom and ginseng chicken soup which my friend ordered. These soups were straight out of my grandmother's kitchen--moral mushroom soup was savory, heart warming and had plenty of mushroom and pork to eat. My friend's ginseng black chicken soup was so refreshing, if I were sick it would feel like the perfect remedy. Powerful and delicious. The herbal jello turtle was really adorable! I would heed his warning when he says it's bitter, but the honey helps and after the first 2 bites, you kind of get used to the bitterness. Overall had a really great experience here and thought the price of the set was reasonable given the variety of food, would come back to try other soups!

Definitely a hidden gem! I've bookmarked Y.out Cafe on Yelp for quite some time but never had the opportunity to come try it out. I am so glad I finally had the chance to tonight! My experience was absolutely a 10/10! The restaurant appears to be family owned. My server was very friendly and super attentive. He checked in on my table often and even offered us refills on our drinks. I ordered the Steamed Rice combo with soup of choice and desert, as well as their hand made Beef Balls soup. The Beef Balls was WOW-ZERS! Definitely worth the $17! The steamed rice was very delicious as well. Lemon iced tea was just as refreshing. I highly recommend Y.our Cafe and will definitely be back regularly.

We liked the food, the quality was good. The soups were excellent the steamed rice dishes were also good. The ambiance was a cute hole in the wall reminiscing the old Hong Kong and Macau, service was okay. This was my second time there. If I'm in the area I will try it again. We also had the soufflé pancakes (sesame), it wasn't anything to write home about but it wasn't bad either. I prefer the ones I've had in Little Tokyo personally.

Used the Yelp "Surprise Me" feature and ended up here! Small cafe style restaurant featuring different mix of Japanese and Cantonese style dishes. Set lunch menu available for lunch, most of which includes a drink. Flavors ranged from mild to just right in the dishes we ordered. They also have good looking coffee, drinks and desserts. I plan to come back and try other items. Limited street parking in the front and small lot in the back.

It was not easy spotting this restaurant, nondescript as one of the many businesses on Huntington Drive. I tried the combo - pot rice, soup & dessert. The chicken & mushroom rice was tasty, reminiscent of the kind served at yum cha. I just wish it came with more sauce. The sauce makes the dish. Unfortunately I don't recall the type of soup I selected, but it was comforting & satisfying. Herbal jelly was the dessert, so the server kindly offered a beverage as an alternative. I gladly accepted a lemon tea. Hubby ordered a combo too. The OyakioDon was good, and it came with a small salad plus fries. We liked that the fries were very crispy. Service was friendly. We recommend this small business!

Super cute little restaurant located in San Marino! There is a parking in the back with plenty of space. The service was quick and friendly. I enjoyed the food and the drink. I highly recommend coming here to support this small business.

    Roti Canai with Curry Sauce

Parking: There is street parking and a parking lot in the back. Interior: The restaurant is not very big but it looked very clean. There were a couple of small tables along the side for dine-in customers. Service: I ordered takeout and they were ready within 20 minutes. Food: I saw a lot of good reviews and pictures of the food. Unfortunately, that was not the case for me. I ordered the Cantonese Stewed Beef Brisket with Diakon Rice and Pork Ribs with Black Bean Sauce Steamed Rice along with a side of Roti with the intention of saving half for my dinner. Maybe it was because I ordered takeout but my portions were significantly smaller. For $15 an entree, I got about 1/4 of what I would normally get at a regular HK cafe in the area. The stewed beef brisket tasted fine but there was barely enough stew/sauce to even flavor the rice that came with it. There was a bit more pork ribs but a majority of the meal was just plain white rice. The roti was tiny, soggy, and oily. Sadly, it was a disappointing experience for me and I would recommend going to any of the other HK cafes in the area instead.

A charming little café tucked away on Huntington Blvd. SERVICE: 5/5 The server was incredibly sweet, friendly, patient, and happy to answer any questions we had. It was an enjoyable meal. FOOD: 4/5 I ordered the curry omelet set, which was simple yet well-balanced. They offer a variety of combo sets that look promising, and I'm definitely looking forward to trying more on my next visit. ATMOSPHERE: 5/5 Located in a lovely neighborhood, this café has a cozy and intimate feel. The décor includes cute figurines, adding a charming touch, and they even have a TV playing old-school Hong Kong dramas, which brings a nostalgic vibe. A hidden gem worth checking out! I'll be back to explore more of the menu.

Food was delicious; nothing fancy, just good cooking and good ingredients. The chicken was hella crispy and juicy, the noodles just the right texture, and my mini katsudon was so yum. They give you a light salad as an appetizer which is really airy and refreshing. The lunch specials are the best for the deals so try to go around that time! For cold noodle options they have ramen, udon, and my personal favorite soba! The portions of the soba are huge and the amount of different kinds of tempura is definitely filling (squid, shrimp, potato, carrot, cilantro). The sauce to dip the cold noodles in are perfectly balanced in flavor and comes with green onions and wasabi as an add on if you want! Atmosphere: cute place with very humble and on brand theme of ducks! They are all over the place even the restroom! Price: price is not bad for the amount of food you get, but would definitely try to go during lunch.

Their katsu is always perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Service is also pretty fast compared to other restaurants in the area, which I really appreciate when the food court gets busy. Nevertheless, it seemed like only one lady was doing all the food prep by herself. We had to wait maybe 20-30 min minimum for our order. When she was mostly done making it, another man came in the front door, put his dinner from another fast food place on the counter and started helping her. Like many new places, order is by kiosk only and they do not take cash. Highly recommend you skip the in-store wait and just order ahead on your favorite services that they take and allow 20-30 min to get there so you do not end up waiting in-store. The food quality was mixed. The spicy curry was too hot for us even though the flavor was good. The amount of meat and egg and overall food is not that big and you are mostly filling up on rice. That is not worth the post-Covid and inflation prices they are charging. The food tastes ok, but is not as good as comparable places or sit-down Japanese restaurants. The mild curry was not too hot and had good flavor. The potato salad texture is different, but tastes ok. We did not know one comes with each dish and so we accidentally ordered an extra. For maybe $5.99 or $6.99 it was totally not worth it. Even though we ate different dishes and did not share we both got mild food poisoning from here. We got: potato salad, chicken katsu curry, unagi bowl, and omurice bowl and a mango flurry. You definitely need massive lactade if you are lactose intolerant to drink their flurries and other yogurt drinks. Only really worth a try if you order ahead, really want take out and are in the area, and order two dishes and don't eat all the rice if you are pretty hungry and expect to pay a lot for it.
