I haven't been to Boiling Point since high school and I came here with my friend since there was a $10 off promotion on social media. The restaurant has a nice layout but I feel like it could be cleaner. I got the Korean Bean Paste soup in medium spice and was surprised to see the amount of crown daisy in my pot; it did not look like the picture on the menu! While I didn't mind the extra vegetables and the portion of meat was generous, I think I prefer eating hot pot at other places. Also, since the pot was cooking as I ate (the staff lit a flammable gel under the pot), the soup started to boil halfway through my meal and I would have burned my mouth if I wasn't careful. I remembered that I really liked Boiling Point years ago, however I think with more hot pot restaurants opening, my standards have changed. Here, you can't really customize what's in your pot and you will be paying at least $25 Pros: free rice or vermicelli with your meal, large portions Cons: not very customizable, on the pricier side, beware of drinking boiling soup

With so many hot pot spots popping up all over Metro Vancouver, boiling point is still the most nostalgic for me to visit. It was one of the first hot pot restaurants to come to Vancouver and it never disappointed! I love the design of their heating element for more through heating too! My fav pot is the beef but tried out the seafood this time and was reminded why I prefer the beef. Still tasty but the soup wasn't as flavourful in my opinion

Boiling Point is a place that guarantees warmth and a full stomach. Period. Every time I visit, I always wonder if the sizes of the pots have shrunk, or there's less meat. Every time I visit, I'm absolutely stuffed. Specializing in individual pots, Taiwanese style, all of the 10-ish ingredients are boiling hot when placed on your table, and it's a fulfilling feeling digging through the next bite. The broths pack a punch in spice and in umami, especially when paired with a dipping sauce. The meat has just enough flavor to reach past the other ingredients, while holding everything together with a familiarly unique texture. That being said, mild is the level of spice; I've seen quite a few people unable to finish because of how hot the spicy variations are. I usually come for dinner with friends, but it's generally better to have lunch because of the free drink (green or black tea). Wait times are generally 15 minutes, which is very efficient considering all of the ingredients managed. Seating is consistent across all locations, and the ambiance is comfortable for any occasion.

Boiling Point is always a good go-to spot for a single pot hot pot, especially on a cold and rainy day. I've been to their other locations in the states, and the food at this location in Vancouver is exactly the same. I came for Friday dinner with 5 others around 6 pm. Because we were a larger group, we had to wait 30 minutes for two neighboring tables to be available. From what I saw, most of their tables are for 4 people, so I recommend coming with max 4 people to make seating easier. I went with the beef hot pot. You can also choose whether you want rice or noodles as well as the spice level. I have zero spice tolerance, so I went with level zero. Even that was a little bit spicy for me, so I can't imagine how spicy their spiciest level is... Our food came out fairly quickly, within 10 minutes of ordering. Everything in the pot is cooked already, and they have a small flame at the bottom of each pot to keep your food hot as you're eating. Everything in the pot was delicious, especially when paired with their dipping sauces which you can mix and match. Portions are big as well; some folks in my group couldn't finish their food. I managed to finish it, but it was definitely a struggle by the end. It's a popular dinner spot. By the time we finished eating around 8, there were still people waiting for a table outside. It's mostly metered street parking in this area. I parked in the HSBC bank parking lot right around the corner, but that was paid as well.

They take Covid rules very seriously here--which I really respect! They make sure there's proper social distancing between tables, really wipe down the tables after use (we could smell the cleaner agent when they wiped down a table next to us), and was carefully making sure our Covid passports/IDs checked out. I love eating out boiling point. My only gripe is that I'm allergic to peanuts and so I can't really get their beef hot pot. I always have to get another hot pot -- which basically mostly comes with pork. And I'm not allowed to switch out the pork for beef :( Always nice to come during lunch as the pots are a little cheaper (despite being exactly the same) and you get a free drink (sweetened green tea or black tea) with your meal! A word of advice: the Taiwanese spicy really is very hot. Like wreck your stomach kind of hot. My family can eat quite spicy, but while your mouth can tolerate it, your tummy likely will go through a challenge!

Boiling Point serves up the perfect hot pots to warm you up on those colder days and nights. Many options are available to suit the preferences and diets of most potential guests. I find the portions and quality to remain consistent which is always nice. You can go to any Boiling Point location and know you'll receive what you've come to expect from them. All the standard hot pots are enough to fill most bellies, but they do have a menu of add-ons available. A word of warning... The "flaming spicy" level of spice is legitimately spicy.

Came here with B. We got our usual. I got the lamb hotpot and he got the beef hotpot. Because we came during Covid time, there was a line up in front of us. We were third in line and the wait was like 10 - 15 mins (arrived at 5:50pm on a Friday). It was not too bad. B had to rush home by 8:30 and at first we were not sure if we would make it back. I have to say service was quick and food came really quick as well. I was surprised. We sat down at around 6:05 pm and finished our food at 7 pm and made it home at 7:30pm. Best of all half way eating, the server came by and asked if we wanted the fire to be put out (located at the bottom of the pot). We said yes. Without it constantly boiling, we can eat even faster. We really liked the sauce that comes with our hotpot. Overall, the food was very tasty. I sometimes wished that there are more meat. Great food and great service. There is something about their chopsticks. They are not easy to use or maybe it is just me. Note that the lunch and dinner price is slight different for the same size. The dinner is $1 more and if you come here during lunch time, you get free drinks. It is somewhat hard for us to make it here during lunch time because I work on weekdays unless I do weekend. All Covid protocols are in place at this restaurant.

Watch out for these sauces mine were bad. Definitely expired.

Feeling lazy ordered on door dash. We ordered two beef One mild and one spicy. ( my mild definitely wasn't mild) it was still super spicy! And seriously lacking flavour. Definitely not what I'm used to from boiling point. It came with 3 packets of sauce. I combined two sauces and noticed right away a strange taste. Tried it a few more times and knew for sure I couldn't eat those sauces. I Even tried both sauces seperate and they both tasted funky. I even asked my husband to taste it and he said it tasted like "shit." now we've had these sauces before so we know what they taste like. Anyone working in a restaurant should know if something tastes off. Called the restaurant and it took a while trying to explain that the sauces were bad. They passed the phone to another girl and she kept saying that because the expiration date said it wasn't expired they were going by that. Lol. Ok first of all expiration date is basically only good until you open it and then after things can get spoiled easily. Something could of contaminated these sauces or maybe they weren't sealed properly. I told them to try it themselves and tell me if it tasted normal. She said hold on and thinking she was going to try it. She just came back to tell me she'd try it later. So maybe she was too embarrassed to say it was bad. It basically grossed me out to even finish my food. Lol. Hopefully I don't get sick! Lol let's just say we are definitely not going back to this location.

Just thinking about my meal makes me salivate. I have been going to boiling point since they opened their first location in Richmond. The individual pots are the perfect amount to fill you up. The mix of ingredients makes it fun to eat and the flavours are reminiscent of my childhood in Taiwan. And the sauces! You can't go wrong with a little bean paste and garlic soy, just perfect! My go to has always been either the beef or lamb pot, spicy. And I recommend going for lunch as you get a free drink with your meal.

    Seafood & Tofu hot pot

A few of us came here for lunch on a hot day. It's better to have a piping mini hot pot dish when it's cold outside. They serve a variety of hot soups with additional add-on dishes to choose from. Included with the price of your meal, you receive an icy cup of green or black tea and a choice of rice or vermicelli with your dish. You can also choose from 5 types of sauces to accompany your dish. If you like seafood, try the seafood and tofu mini hot soup (it's my favourite). The others had the Thai Tomato and Taiwanese Spicy. Checkout their menu for some new items. They are currently offering 10% off for first time online orders. There are a few Boiling Points around town - Burnaby, Vancouver, & Surrey. They are open everyday and each location has different operating hours. You can dine-in, have delivery or do takeout. It's a great way to satisfy everyone's different palates. If you like really hot & spicy food, you'll love this place!

Mini wok on a box. Perfect for those who are craving hot pot (or something to warm their souls during these winter days), but too lazy to prepare hot pot ingredients, then this is the place to be at. They have a variety of preset hot pots to choose from while customizing the level of spiciness. You can also choose to add in extras. My personal favourite is house special and the beef one. The house special had many different ingredients in it which made my eating experience 'not boring' and the beef one was very tasty. It may be because I especially like hot pot kind-of beef. While I cannot eat spicy, my friend ordered flaming spicy (highest level) and enjoyed it. Anyone who loves spicy will probably love it. This also saved us from arguing to choose a soup base that we would both enjoy, as in regular hot pots. And, not to mention, you won't ever have to worry about using a 'public spoon/chopsticks' as the pot is all yours. Definitely left a satisfying warmth within me.

The beef was nice and tender, and the noodles had a satisfying chew. It also came with a marinated egg, which was nice. The combo included a refreshing iced jasmine tea (not sweet btw, if that's your thing!), and at $14.99 for the whole meal, the price was quite reasonable. The only downside was that our drinks took a while to arrive, and the wheat germ milk tea my sister ordered was just "not it." The texture of the pearls didn't meet our expectations, and the tea flavor was lacking. I would probably come back for the noodle soup, but I'd skip the bubble tea next time.

You are bound to find something you like. Food is consistent. All good, nothing blowing your mind but very solid. Their prices seemed to have gone up but their portions are enormous. A meal combo is too much food for one person. This time we ordered: mixed beef dry noodle - has a sichuan peppercorn spicy sauce with beef shank/tripe/tendon, side of soup with fish/meatballs and some veg. Solid 4/5 for both. beef hotpot - comes served on a little fuel burner with a side of scallion oil noodles and 2 veg sides. Also solid 4/5. A ton of food. TW popcorn chicken (salt pepper fried chicken) - good. well seasoned, juicy thigh chunks. Hot + sour soup - this was mediocre. lacking any depth of flavour. Not terrible, but nothing special. pea flower lemon passionfruit tea drink - average. This amount of food will easily feed 4. Our party of 2 took a lot home. Total bill with tax and tip was just under $100. note: credit card has a 2% surcharge. Service was just right for a place like this. They promptly took your order and brought you tea. Easy to flag them down but they didnt approach you beyond that. Everyone was nice. I would definitely keep coming back. Its an excellent casual "jack of all trades" Chinese/Taiwanese place.

Extremely busy when we went for early dinner on a Sunday. Food: We got 2 appetizers and 2 noodles. For us, we enjoyed mostly everything but the biggest let down was the broth in our beef noodle soup. It seemed a little bland and missing the depth of flavor I expected. The noodles, toppings, and appetizers were all great. Portions were very large. I do wish the pig ears were ~30% less oily but that can be personal opinion/taste. Service/Ambiance: I would not call this a high class place, expect fast and direct service. The staff also does not have great english but can get by as the menu has numbers (ex. A1, A2, etc.). Price: Prices for things felt a little high but can pass since the portions were quite large. My beef noodle was $20 and the pig ears were $17. Takeout containers was an additional 50 cents and there was a 2% fee on credit transactions Misc: The menu is HUGE, I mean over 100+ items. This can be a pro or a con, lots of variety but I based on our experience with the broth I'm wondering if anything really stands out

The braised combo is pretty solid - I didn't really like the funkiness to the intestines (I generally enjoyed it in barbecue settings) but the fish cake was fantastic. I also liked the texture of the pork ears. The Taiwanese egg wrap was a bit tasteless, so I wouldn't recommend. Braised pork sauce rice is the lu ruo fan which is a large portion with seaweed, bean sprouts, and soup on the side. Pork chop was flavorful and juicy but not crispy batter, which is okay. Yam taro mochi balls were sweet and chewy. I don't like taro but I loved this dessert! Service is okay. They give a water jug for self pour but the water jug was of questionable cleanliness.
