I've been to this location a few times already, hoping to give them good and fair chances, but unfortunately I cannot. The many times I've dined here with friends, we felt like we're not being served properly. Yes, we received our food which is indeed delicious, but we were never check on if we wanted to refill our soup base, turn off the flame, etc. Our last visit here, we only saw a trainee walking and serving customers on his own, and a girl coming by to refill our water glasses. While the rest of the crew were just at the register area, looking like they were chatting among each other. A friend of mine pointed out a guy in a black shirt, wearing a silver chain, and not an apron, dancing in place behind another guy at the register. He looked at him when he tried to raise his hand for the bill. The man instead looked away and continued dancing in place, then looking at his colleague at the register, and laughing. If he was an employee there or if he was the one in charge since he was the only one not in uniform, then it seemed very unprofessional and we felt it was very rude and like he just dismissed us like he did not want to do any work, or could have at least told one of his colleagues that there was a customer requesting help. I want to point out that the trainee, despite him walking around the dining area on his own, amd it wad very busy that day, he did do his best to serve us and we appreciate all the help he had done for us and the customers around our seating area. Boiling point's Taiwanese hot pot is one of my favorite versions of hot pot. Your broth of choice is served in your own personal wok with everything included as a complete dish. They have their own sauces on the table, which is great with all of the ingredients that you fish out of your "wok in a box". Unlike traditional shabu shabu, where you cook your meat in a bland broth, the flavors in this taiwanese hot pot are concentrated. There are a variety of options that they have here. I tend to like to go with their "beef" flavor, which has beef in spicy broth amongst seafood, tofu, and veggies. While my wife likes to go with "miso", she went today with "milk cream curry" and she really enjoyed that on this cold night. I appreciate that the flavors of each broth are very unique. While my beef broth was beefy and spicy (as I chose it as "medium spicy"), my wife's milk cream curry flavor reminded me of a Malay-type curry flavor. Waits can be pretty long at prime dinner time- we waited about 45-55 minutes before we were seated. Service isn't very attentive and it's the primary reason that the yelp average is around 3.5 stars. I love Boiling Point, it's the perfect size and comfort food for when I'm craving for something warm, easy to order and have a balance of protein, veggies and carbs. There's a few favorites but during my visit here, I wanted to try a new pot and I decided to go with the Miso pot. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. I also tried some of the appetizers, which I normally don't get but I was looking at the menu and my friend mentioned she really liked the garlic pork belly which we ordered and indeed it lived up to my expectations! I love how strong the garlic flavor and taste was, I'm definitely looking forward to trying other menu items during my next visit to a BP location. I love the food this place is my go to for hot soup the flavor is amazing. We have been coming here for years. Today 6/11 around 1:30pm was quite a different experiance. Me and my fiance can not eat pork for religious reasons. We told the waiter no pork on both lamb dishes it has pork blood. We emphasized its about 3x kindly. My fiance still got pork blood in his soup to which they replaced it and apoligied and we kindly said thank you it was no problem. However the staff behind the counter started making rude remarks. A female waitress came to the table and i asked if i could get more brothe please. To which she said yes. She never came back and stayed behind the counter we made eye contact with another waiter to which we over heard the word "ignore". They made us uncomfortable and it wasnt very professional the ambiance for us was killed after that. I would say they could improve on the service our actual waiter however was very kind. Very unprofessional and it almost discriminating they didnt need to behave negativly like that. Surprised to find the place packed on a Wednesday night at 7:30pm. We put our name down on their waiting system and waited about 20 minutes. We came back and we were supposedly "next" but they sat a couple that came after us down first. It looks like there's an issue with their waiting system so it's not the best option if you're in a time crunch. I've been coming to Boiling Point for years and their portions have become significantly smaller and smaller while getting more expensive every year. One of my first times getting a to-go order from this location and it did not disappoint. You can order online which makes it nice and convenient if you don't feel like sitting down when it's packed (which it does get on weekends for dinner). Although there was an odd computer glitch delaying my order a bit, at least I was able to pick it up super fresh. Even after a 20 minute drive home, it was still hot and really fresh when I got home and didn't require me to reheat it or anything. I ordered the Beef hot pot which is one of their most popular choices. We had ordered a total of 4 soups for the family and a side of lamb which was all packaged pretty well; each individual soup had a little cardboard square under the bowl to give it structure and stopped the bowls from toppling over on the drive back. It also worked well to prevent a mess when we ate it at home. Comes with a cute little utensil set on the side although the spoon is pretty tiny, but still convenient; they even throw in little Konjac jelly packets to-go which sort of replaces the little chia seed shots they normally give you when dining in which is a nice touch. I love hot pot so that's one thing. The first time I went to this location they had great service and always asked us if we needed anything. The second time I went it was in the afternoon and the service was HORRIBLE. The workers were on their phones and all the customers kept having to get up to ask for stuff. Also they were on their phones when there was a customer standing in front of them at the register. So disrespectful. The wait was pretty long when I went since it was just about peak dinner time on a Sunday. We both ordered the beef, mild spicy. We asked for rice but they ran out and were still making some so we got the vermicelli noodles instead. About halfway through our meal we saw some other customers (ones who were sat before us and ones who came after us) who got some rice so we asked an employee if we could also get rice now that it was ready. (*We were also happy that we weren't charged for the rice since we had both the rice and noodles) The food was good, but for some reason the mild was more spicy than expected. I always get the mild beef at BP but in another location and this location was a bit more spicy. Some parts of service could be better. We had to ask for water refills, napkins and things several times. The only time we didn't have to ask for something was when an employee with a pot would make non-stop rounds asking if customers wanted some extra broth/water to add to their pot. My order was taken right away and the food came out quickly. After a good 20-30 minutes went by, I noticed that my server never came to check on me. Never asked me if everything was ok, or whether I needed a drink refill/ basic customer needs. All of the servers seemed to be too busy chit chatting amongst each other. When I was done eating, I had to go up to the counter because the server never brought over the bill. When I questioned why no one came to check on me during the entire duration of my dining experience, I was given the most insincere apology. This is exactly why AI is slowly taking over. No one wants to do the job that they were actually hired to do! Please hire staff that are actually willing to provide customer service in your establishment. I had a few questions I wanted to ask because I already looked at the menu prior to entering the restaurant. So, I just stared at everyone and still, nothing. They acted as if I was invisible to the point that I walked up to the guy (wears glasses) at the register AFTER he blatantly ignored me waving my hand at him. I was walking up to him to talk to him hands length and he STILL turned away from me to walk to the register, whereas I angrily said "IS this place self serve?" He said no, "you look at the menu and we go ask for your order". Tried the beef bowl. Never had something so distasteful in my life. It taste like the burnt scraps you'd find stuck on the edges of an old oily frying pan. There wasn't much flavor besides old oil, texture seemed almost like biting into clumped sand with small crystals breaking apart. When I used to live nearby, this Boiling Point was very easy to dine in at. The service here is always on point, and the staff always took good care to refill our waters and check on us. The restrooms are clean. The inside is dimlove you lit but your eyes adjust quickly. Also, the tables are close to one another so be ready to knock elbows with your neighbor. Typically, I would order either the milk cream curry or the lamb hot pot. Rarely do need to add anything additional because the toppings are already plentiful. For one person, the serving size is just right for me. Overall, I always leave stuffed and satisfied. Downside is this parking lot shares with other popular restaurants and anchor stores like 99 Ranch & Daiso. Parking can be a hassle if you're in a rush and hungry. read more

Came here with a friend around 12pm on a Friday and after waiting around 20-30 min, we got seated. I got a Milk Cream Curry pot and it was perfect with the winter weather coming! Very creamy, love the meat, cabbage, and fish balls unique to this pot. Service was quick and was around once we wanted to put our flame out, ask for cups of water, or for the bill. I also tried their new upgrade on the complimentary rice to a beef bowl, which was a great compliment! The sauces are always good, I love the garlic soy sauce and paste. Hmm, not really sure what the hype is around BP. This is my second time and I was trying to give it another shot. I love hotpot but BP didn't really hit for me. Wait was quite long so you know this is a popular hotpot spot. I wanted the lamb hotpot but was super sad that they ran out of lamb meat...how do you run out of lamb meat? There's a 99 ranch market across the plaza. Jk but really, I was quite disappointed. The waiter offered to replace it with any other type of protein. Since my bf ordered the beef hotpot, I opted for the pork in my lamb broth. To my dismay, the pork was tough and chewy. It was cut too thick and I personally think that when they serve it already cooked in the hotpot, I think the meat became overcooked. My preference is probably hotpots that allow you to cook your own veggies and meat. That way, it ensures that it's cooked to your liking. I also dislike that every pot comes with different ingredients - I found that I wanted something from the beef hotpot and the lamb hotpot, so maybe BP just isn't the place for me since they don't allow customizations. You can't pick your own soup, meat, condiments, or veggies. Maybe other's who like the simplicity of not having to customize, might enjoy BP's menu a bit more. read more

If there is a waitlist, then you can enter your name and party size. Menu is on the QR code hanging under the table. The hot pots are solid. My go-to is beef and not spicy. I think mild is pretty spicy because of the chili oil. You can always add your own chili oil that they have at each table. It's pretty spicy. I tried the special rice they offer with scallion gravy. It has fried garlic so it tastes better, but I don't think I would get it again. At my time of visit on June 1, they gave us the dragon fruit jello instead of the one with the chia seeds! read more

This boiling point has good parking spots, although the parking spaces in between are small. There is a quite a lot of eateries that attract the variety of crowds. Sandwiched between lees sandwich and a newly opened Mexican eatery. Boiling point here is quite big. Firstly, the menu is scannable through their little square QR code that can be extended out for you to scan. And the canvas with the large photos helps as well. The beef, lamb, house special pots are top 3. I went for the Taiwan spicy this time and wish it can be measured by the levels of 1-8, but it's only fixed to flaming spicy. Thanks to Jewel and Alyssa for getting our table what we need and seemed like they are boiling points employees of the month .. Although there was a slow in rotating tables and getting some water or soup services. Alyssa did an amazing job filling up the rounds of people of the broth and water. The one with the iPad needs to have another person with iPad as it felt like she was overwhelmed or overworked.
