Great vibe for a local coffee shop, and wide selection of drinks. It's definitely kid friendly, which is a plus -- and the kid area is in the back, which allows for separation of kids/adults as well. My fiance and I decided to try this cafe. We wanted something different besides Starbucks; Plus we live really close to this cafe. The service was fast and friendly. There are so many different coffee choices to choose from on the menu which was great. I ordered the Mexican Mocha and my fiance ordered the White Chocolate Mocha. I tried some of his too; Our drinks were pretty good. We also ordered breakfast bagels. I ordered the lox with a poppy seed bagel with everything on it, and my fiance ordered a sausage and bacon with cheddar cheese on a plain bagel. We were both satisfied. So GLAD that they got rid of the play area that took over the back of the shop...and the noise took over the entire shop. As people had mentioned it was probably a great place for some moms to sink into the couches, while their kids played and 'wore themselves out', but it was not pleasant if you wanted a coffee shop or lunch establishment and not a kids play area environment. read more

Love their chai...however they don't stay true to their hours. The place closes at 5 yet everything is already locked up at 4:40. Not sure if the owner is aware, but if the business isn't going to be consistent with their times they should at least change it on their site. read more

Maybe I am just too far removed from the coffee/cafe scene, but I just paid 3.25 for an iced coffee with nonfat milk. Small size. Tasted fine for iced coffee, which is about as forgiving a beverage as I can think of. Am I just out of touch? read more

Great place for coffee and free wifi. Very friendly staff too. The coffee is really good and reasonably priced. However, when I asked them if it was okay to be able to do my work from there. They only wanted me to stay for no more than 2 hours. I always buy something to eat in addition to coffee and I put up with the ad based internet. But I would like to be able to work longer than 2 hours. read more

My husband originally found this spot on his way home from work. He had brought home lunch for us from here, which was pretty tasty, so I decided to check it out with him to see what this place had to offer. I was pleasantly surprised because it's a really cute local coffee shop and I had no clue it even existed. The first thing is I love that it's not outrageously busy with traffic jams of people like a Starbucks or Coffee Bean . You're probably not going to have to stand around to wait for someone to leave their table in hopes that you can snag a seat (I hate when that happens). There's a lot of open space to sit and chat, study (they offer free Wi-Fi), or catch a game on their TV. It's a cozy and friendly environment with good customer service and good food. However, the reason why I couldn't give it 5 stars was because the two times that my husband and I have ordered food from this place they have gotten the order wrong!! The first time it was our to-go order and they gave us the wrong salad. The salad that they mistakenly had given us was still tasty so it wasn't a huge deal, but then when we actually ate lunch here they made the same mistake (gave my husband the wrong salad) but also managed to mess up our order even worse. In addition to giving my husband the wrong salad, they put his sandwich on the wrong bread and failed to even give me my salad! We told the woman who worked there about the mistakes and she apologized and quickly fixed it but it was a little annoying because this had happened both times we ordered food from this place. And actually, right after we had told the woman who worked there about the mistake, another customer who had just left with her to-go order came back in because they had forgotten to give her the bagel she had ordered. Honest mistake?? Hmmmm... Just sayin'! Anyhow, despite the slip ups on the food orders I would still go back. They offer a great lunch special: half sandwich, half salad AND a bag of chips for $5 and some change (can't remember the exact price) and free Wi-Fi. My advice would be if you plan to eat there just be prepared for a slip up on your order. And if you order food to-go just be sure to check your bag before you leave to make sure your order is correct! read more

Bodi's is great! With a 2yr old and 4yr old, the kid's play area is key. The new management has made some improvements. I'm much happier with the latte's now compared to a few years ago. We come on weekend morning's for latte's (me), spiced chai (my wife thinks Bodi's chais are better then Starbucks or Peets), and kids' hot chocolates. We eat lunch there occasionally. They have nice sandwiches with fruit, etc. My warning would be that the food preparation goes a little slowly, so it is best if you aren't in a hurry. read more

I've lived in cv for 3 years and I miss the non star bucks hangout spot. I finally checked this place out and I tried their salad and kids grilled cheese and it was not bad. It tasted homey and fresh. I love the one dollar kids chocolate milk with sprinkles. The atmosphere is great and I can see hanging out here for a cup of Joe or to study. It's great for kids and the free wi fi is always a plus. read more

Looove that CV has a quality coffee shop to compete with the army of Starbucks invading the lower "downtown" area. Sure, the coffee isn't superior, a la Blue Bottle and my L.A. love Intelligentsia, but they have a Vanilla Soy Chai that I can't get enough of on a rainy day. Plus, there are good snacks and a ton of options to choose from, all with a good sense of allure like a Snickers drink. It kind of reminds me of Looney Bean Coffee in Mammoth Lakes, for all you skiiers. The atmosphere at Bodi's is great, too. Nice seating and cute couches in the back kind of removed from the rest of the shop, which makes for a nice secluded hang out/study spot. I'm hoping the locals continue to support Bodi's, especially if the Safeway being built in the old PW spot is going to have a Starbucks.... read more

This place has ok coffee, but the last four times I have went in their wi fi has not been working. Everytime I ask them to reset the wi fi they say something is wrong with my computer becasue they dont want to get the ladder out to reset the router installed on the ceiling.. If you are a student or business person or just want to search the web dont go here... Also if you want good pastries they only by qty 2 of each pastry and when they sell out that is it. read more

We went here based on the good reviews we saw. Unfortunately the coffee was not good. Even with milk added it could not compare to Starbucks. It was clean had a good number of tables and an extensive menu of sandwiches, rolls, breakfast bagels etc. The lack of a variety of Sunday newspapers was dissapointing as one would hope to read at the shop. All they had was a local and Oakland paper. No San Francisco paper. I rated it 2 stars as most come to a coffee shop for the coffee. read more

Daily morning ritual for almost two consecutive years during the weekdays(solo-mio) and on some Saturday's with my wife, usually before embarking on long drives outside the bay area or a long day of furniture shopping. Always a great cup of coffee that hits the spot. Wife says the breakfast sandwiches are satisfying. Would bring my toddler here frequently during the summer to play on the train table while he sipped his hot cocoa. We haven't run across any other coffee shop that has a train table. I just started coming here a few weeks ago for the coffee and Wi Fi. Plenty of outlets to plug into. I prefer to support local business when done right. This place just feels right! Some regular retirees gather and chat, and it isn't overcrowded. Coffee is great (I get the house), and there is TV playing at low volume. So my 24-year-old girlfriend and I used to enjoy this place until a recent incident that rubbed us the wrong way. (Occurred November 17th, 2009- in the morning). For this factual story I'm going to call my girlfriend (the one this happened to) "Customer" and the woman taking her order as "Clerk". Customer walks in. Customer asks Clerk "Hello! May I have the Pumpkin Nut Steamer?" Clerk: (Pause) "So you want a cup of steamed milk with pumpkin?" Customer: "No...the Pumpkin Nut Steamer" (points to item on menu). Clerk looks at Customer like an idiot and says: "That does have coffee in it, you know..." Customer: "I...know..." Clerk proceeds to make the drink so incredibly sweet and coffee-less, my girlfriend had instant stomach pains and had to throw it away before even taking a few sips. How incredibly rude was that? Was the woman at the counter assuming my 24-year-old girlfriend was a child unable to have her own cup of coffee? How very judgmental and uncalled for. I deem this place "Eek! Methinks Not." Congratulations Bodi's, you've lost 2 customers forever on incredibly poor service. read more

This is a friendly coffee house where the employees are nice and always smiling. The coffee is pretty good. I do like starbucks a lot, but I also like to support the independent businesses. There is not much seating as the coffee house is really narrow but I usually take mine to go. read more

Ordered a soy latte and less than half way thru - the soy milk was was coagulated. Now my stomach is making all kind of noises, can't be good. Probably won't be going back there anytime soon. Bodi's has no real competition, in fact Bodi's has a near monopoly, it's the only coffee shop around. Bodi's will stay in business despite being somewhat less than mediocre. That said, it is an ok place to hang out if you happen to be in the immediate area. Order a burned tasting black coffee and a bagel with cream cheese. First stop at Safeway and buy a small container of cream cheese. You will need it. read more

Use to come here all the time! Live really close and would go after every workout. The new owners are really bad at running a business. They are trying to save any fraction of a penny. If they are this cheap, I'm nervous to trust their products and whether they are avoiding proper health code policies to save a dime. I can totally see them keeping items after the pull dates just to save on money. They changed their frost powder and the frosts are disgusting because of it. Use to be an awesome drink. The place is too dark. They don't turn on lights. They don't understand what you're trying to order even though we order the same thing every time. The lady watches you like a hawk to make sure you're not using too much of something. The owner tried to tell my husband that he didn't need a lid for his hot coffee. I'm assuming she did this because she doesn't want to spend money on buying more lids. She then took the lid out of his hand and put it back on the pile, which is not health code! Once a customer touches something, you can't put it back for another customer to use. They put a food prep bucket instead of a trash bag so they can save cost on that too. The guy in there refused to let my friend use the restroom to wash his hands. After my friend made a fuss about it, he finally let him wash his hands in their back sink but would only give him a cocktail size napkin the dry his hands. Terrible customer service. You have to take pride in your business and spend money to make money. I refuse to go in there. Now, after the gym I go either to Pampas on the boulevard or make coffee at home. I suspect the new owners will run this business into the ground unless they change their ways. read more

I love this place. I come in here a couple times a week usually. I love it because its the kind of local shop that supports the community, and sells quality. It's a little slow sometimes because there are only two people working there at a time, but honestly, I don't mind. They have cards and postings on one wall for all the local shops, events, and businesses, and there's a comfy living room like space with couches, and kids chairs and toys, too. It's a great family place and the food is always fresh, healthy, and tasty. Also, the coffee is better then any chain, and it's more creative, too! read more

ahhhhh I love this little coffee shop. I was recently hired near by and decided to stop by today after a long shift. I had no idea what to order and went with a small Mexican mocha. It was sooo good. Could've been a tad bit less sweet but that's just personal preference. Prices are fairly reasonable/ on par with more of the chain coffee places but the coffee really does taste better and the lady working was so friendly and quick. read more
