I like this place. Their food is always good. My kids like this place I like their chicken coconut soup. I get a medium spicy. My kids are fine with the medium spicy but we are spicy people. I got the chicken sauté, very large pieces of chicken on a stick. The kids love it. The staff is very friendly and kind. They have several tables and chairs inside. It's fine for groups. I'm not sure if they have a restroom you can use in there. When you pull in, it's to the right. It's next to the street. Its very delicious.
I take all of my cars to G1 Auto Repair, across the street from Bobby Thai. This is the first time we hung around because it was a quick inspection. We just might start waiting for our cars so we can grab a bite here! Unassuming little spot in a busy shopping center filled with health & beauty shops and a market. The portions are huge and the food is absolutely fresh & delicious! The galbi was so good my daughter ate w her hands. She doesn't mess w her nails for just anything! And my soup was perfectly balanced w citrus and spicy heat. Just a warning to check for peanuts in case you have an allergy. I don't, but my daughter does. They were kind in their response. Staff is super friendly too! We'll definitely be back. I can't wait to try out more items in the menu!
July 16, 2025 | El Monte | Bobby Thai was a delicious surprise! A group of friends, and I had a shareable lunch together & what a yummy feast it was! Variety of soups, Pad Thai, and Curry, oh my! Hahaha! We loved it! Pad Thai | My Main Dish: Delicious with a bit of sweetness, & the perfect amount of crispiness to my flavorful tofu, which I enjoyed! I would easily order this dish again! Portions are huge here as well! Thai Iced Tea: Yummy! One of the best Thai Iced teas I've ever had! Warm Welcome: Incredibly friendly customer service! We were checked on constantly throughout our meal and easily with a smile! Parking: Free! Parking space is right up front! Overall: Yes, I would easily visit again! In fact, I'm looking forward to trying more dishes on the menu, including the Taro Milk Tea & shrimp fried rice! Thanks again, our meal was delicious in a very relaxed atmosphere!
He said his name is Bond. Just like James Bond. Five stars for friendly warm welcoming service. Bond even recognized my companion who had dined here a week or so ago. Its a casual low-key place,...spacious dining room. Serving up solid Thai food thanks to Bonds' mom and dad in the kitchen. The Bobby of Bobby Thai has retired, so abundant is his nephew. There's a larger location in the Santa Clarita Valley under another name, but Bond us determined to bring this location to its former glory. I ordered chicken satay, which comes as three large flattened skewers, and a container of peanut sauce which is nice, a little runny, no chunks of peanut, but it's tasty without being thick or too peanutty. It also came with a red sauce but looked spicy, so pass. Didn't cone with a vinegar cucumber condiment like at other places but no matter, we dove in and enjoyed it. It's not a dainry satay, but very hearty, so the light peanut sauce works. 5/5 I also ordered to share the pineapple fried rice, hold the shrimp. There's no egg in this dish which is better for me. I'm allergic to egg and to shrimp. I should have asked for the shrimp on the side so my companion could eat it. Next time. The pineapple was juicy....there were raisins cashews and chicken along with some beef too...there's a curry flavor which surprised me....in fact this dish was awesome as a leftover two days later 5/5 it's nice freshly made but overnite that curry rice was darn tasty. 5/5 I took a star off bec if the plastic utensils, the Styrofoam takeout....your food comes to the table already in takeout containers....we decided to dine in so plates, forks knives....to make it less of a take out and mire of a destination restaurant, but they are short handed and probably compensate by making your meal to go at the get go. No need a dishwasher!! Plenty of free parking in Titos Plaza. No problem with credit cards.
Went here today and got the drunken noodles the pad see ew and papaya salad. Everything taste great. The salad was super fresh and flavorful. The noodles were such large portions for the price. Service is outstanding super attentive. I highly recommend.
Located in Tito's Plaza with lots of free parking. Called in my order and was ready in 15 minutes. They accept credit cards. Ordered fried tofu and rad na chicken. The fried tofu was perfectly fried and I loved the sauce that came with it. Wasn't the typical sweet chili sauce from the bottle. The rad na was filing and delicious. I only wish they gave the noodles in a larger to go tray instead of packed into the to go Chinese takeout square container. The chicken and sauce were separate in a to go soup container. I had to mix on my own plate and the noodles were all stuck together in a large cube shape. There are tables instead. Front counter staff were friendly.
Bobby Thai on Garvey in El Monte is back open after a complete remodel. Best Thai restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley and definitely one of the best in Los Angeles. I'm going to Thailand in a few weeks but I'm so glad I have Bobby Thai close to home!
Came back after their remodel, and its still really good! You can tell the owner really cares about his customers. He's so nice! Had Khao Soi noodles again, again very very very good!
Nice and friendly staff cook does take there time but I was happy with the results food was absolutely delicious got cashew chicken seemed fresh flavor was amazing they had some good music on would come here again just be patient
Guys. This has to be hands down the best Thai food I have ever tried. Normally I thought Ochas would beat my standards, but this Thai place skyrocketed them. Next time I am going to try the Tom Kah and update this, but I just know i am not going to be disappointed. I am a very picky eater when it comes to Thai food, but like I said it was just overall so amazing and I am so in love with this restaurant. Shoutout to my girl Nanny! Such a sweet soul. -J The food is very very good, while the dinnerware is paper plates and the dishes come in to go boxes, the food is definitely worth it. The spicy drunken noodles were the highlight of the meal and def the fish to get. Also meeting the owners was very cool and it is rewarding as consumers to support local family owned businesses. -K Overall. We love this place! This is our new favorite? PORTIONS WERE ELITE! We both got full and didn't even finish the plates! So that's exciting!
I went to Bobby Thai in El Monte and asked what they reccomended. He learned that I once lived in Chiang Mai and suggested Khao Soy (N8 Curry Noodles), a dish that originated in Northern Thailand. I ordered that without a second thought. Finding Khao Soy is very difficult. It is a noodle dish served in a very mild yellow curry. If you have never had it, you must try it. It was absolutely delicious and authentic since the owner and staff are from Northern Thailand . The service is awesome. The staff was very attentive to all the customers in the restaurant. It is a small quaint locally owned place with sufficient space for everyone. I highly recommend this place. I will be back.
Wanted Thai food and spotted this place on Yelp with very high ratings so headed over to try it out. Located inside Tito's Plaza. Food is served in plastic to go containers, styrofoam plates and plastic utensils. Felt very odd eating with all that plastic inside a restaurant, especially with hot soup in a togo container. Requested for actual plates and bowls and he brought over melamine/plastic bowls and plates, which felt a bit better than styrofoam and clear plastic containers. Iced coffee is very sweet and the taste of coffee is barely there, just a sugary brown drink. 6 metal tables inside, no outdoor dining. Pad Thai is overly sweet and sauced up. Was hard to eat. Never had a failed pad Thai so was extremely surprised. Free extra rice offered. Seafood hot pot was ok . The person running the show was a kind super sweet gentleman. Very friendly service. He offered complimentary rice refill and water. Such a bummer that the food was too sweet and the style is more like street food presentation.

My boyfriend and I went here looking for a quick spot to eat while our car was being serviced near by. We love Thai food so this spot caught our eye due to the reviews and inside aesthetics. We loved it! The employees were very nice and attentive, the food was also really great. We usually start off pretty basic and get the Pad Thai and Pad See-Ew + cream cheese wontons. All were delicious. The chili oils are also very tasty. The inside was clean, and comfortable. It's small- only about 6 tables but it's generally a nice space. We'll definitely be coming back and ordering more of a variety of dishes. read more

New Thai restaurant that just opened 7 months ago! We ordered food on DoorDash and it was prepared quickly! The restaurant is at the corner of a plaza and they looked to have a good amount of tables for dine-in customers. Pretty casual vibe, as opposed to the fancier Thai restaurants. The menu has English and Spanish, which caters to the demographic in the area. Picking up the order was smooth, and they even wrote out the persons name who ordered each dish, which is exceptional customer service! I noticed they also had drinks for $2 so I decided to get one! The son from this family-run business was helpful and gave me different suggestions on drinks including Thai iced tea and taro milk drink. I ultimately got a coconut drink without boba and it was delish, but next time I'll get the Thai iced tea because the price is just so reasonable! The portions are large and generous, not to mention the ingredients are really fresh! My pad Thai with chicken and shrimp had several pieces of shrimp, but I really enjoyed the crispy bean sprouts and juicy lime that comes with the dish. We also tried the Spicy Noodles with a combination of pork, chicken, beef, and shrimp! Usually a dish with all these proteins would be $16-$19+ so this was a great value. I would've liked more basil and less pepper, but my SO really enjoyed it as is. Next time I'd like to try their papaya salad and mango sticky rice. Ideal for takeout or when craving comfort food. Generous portions, great service, casual dining room. Food: - Combination Fried Rice - Beef Pad See Ew Flavors were tasty but on the salty side, maybe from heavy use of soy sauce? Wok-hay was on point. Simple and no-frills presentation. Tender meat and fresh veggies. Value: While the food quality was average, the substantial portions and abundance of meat provided excellent value. Service: The gentleman taking orders and working the front of the house was both friendly and helpful! All good. Ambiance: The decor was an eclectic mix of out-of-state license plates, assorted bottle caps, Thai fight posters, and wooden tables with metal overlay. read more

I ordered through Yelp / Grubhub. Super easy and food was ready fast. I did call and everyone was nice on the phone and in person. Overall good tastes great! Pad See Ew: would order again! Flavor was 10/10 Pad Thai: also would order again. Orange Chicken: might not order again. Flavor and texture was just okay. Came with fried rice but was a little hard for our liking. Only major downfall was we did find small egg shells. So not fun when we bit into those. Besides that food had good flavor! read more

Stumbled upon this place looking for something that wasn't tacos for dinner. Its been hard finding good Thai food in the area so I ordered some staples for takeout, garlic chicken and chicken and shrimp Pad Thai. Now I have certain standards because a dear friend of mine had a family Thai restaurant in LA that I'd frequent as a kid and this place fits the bill. I must say it was absolutely delicious and reminded me of that restaurant. Friendly service, reasonably priced, and flavorful. I'll be back! read more

Solely Based on Delivery -- Togo -- Doordash I would go back to get fried rice. I am not Asian by any means and cannot truly attest to how authentic food is.... This simply tastes as though it is catered to Non-Asian folks who do not know better. I trusted you Yelpers. (Lol) ALSO being that it is next to Titos and all the people saying 5 stars.... Sorry. No. Cannot speak to Service as I got delivery. Cannot speak to Ambiance as I got delivery. I ordered: Spicy Beef Salad Orange Chicken with Fried Rice Thai BBQ Chicken with Fried Rice Spicy Beef Salad -- 5/10 -- Packaged alright. Taste... It was "okay." The veggies were few and a LOT of protein that was oversalted. Sat in the same bag as the hot food. Still carried okay. Orange Chicken with Fried Rice -- 5/10 -- I feel as though the mistake was on my part... ordering Orange Chicken from a Thai spot... At any rate. The OJ chicken looked pale and sat in a not so sugary syrup and the only orange flavor was the orange slice put on top. The fried rice was actually really good. Had veggies and egg. Nice salty, soy, onion-y, garlicky, wok-ish flavor. Packaged well. Carried well. Thai BBQ Chicken with Fried Rice -- 7/10 -- The Satay was really good. The fried rice is delicious. Went on a sunday afternoon and was nothing but satisfied! We ordered the pineapple fried rice (sub meat for tofu), pad thai with chicken and shrimp, and yellow curry with tofu and vegetables. The portions were so huge and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. The pineapple rice was so flavorful, not too oily, with a nice kick. The pad thai was delicious my only complaint was the chicken pieces were tough and too big for my liking. If I were to get it again I would opt for tofu or maybe beef. The yellow curry was our favorite, so so flavorful and the perfect amount of spice. The place was very clean with good amount of seating. Will recommend to friends! read more

This place has the most amazing food! We drove an hour and half to come eat her and it didn't let us down! The service was so friendly. Everything is made when you order it. The tofu is homemade and the most delicious tofu I have ever had. It is a cute place inside a strip mall. Anything you order is going to be amazing and fresh and authentic. If your looking for Americanized Thai don't come here. They are the real deal. We will be me making the drive again and again. THANK YOU!!!! read more

We ordered door dash for lunch. I wasn't expecting much cause there weren't many reviews but I was pleasantly suprised. The portions are huge and they used dark meat for the chicken! Just the right amount of spice and flavor for the basil chicken. The coconut soup was different but also very very yummy! Good amount of chicken in that one too. Found a new Thai restaurant on Yelp today. Bobby Thai did not disappoint. We ordered yellow curry with chicken (C3), Som-Ma-Kuy (N7), Pad See = Ew Chicken (N3), Pad Thai Noodle (N2), Milk Tea Boba, Thai Iced Tea Boba! Prices are very reasonable. Friendly staff. The place is very clean and enjoyable to sit n eat, or takeout. I would definitely recommend coming to eat at Bobby Thai!!!!!! read more

A small hidden gem in a little plaza offering generous portions in to go containers. Prices are cheap for the amount of food served. Very flavorful and staff was extremely friendly. My favorite was the pad thai and the coconut spicy soup. As for ambiance, some of the decor seemed like it was leftover from the previous restaurant but the restaurant was clean overall. Would go again to try their other menu items. read more
