July 16, 2025 | El Monte | Bobby Thai was a delicious surprise! A group of friends, and I had a shareable lunch together & what a yummy feast it was! Variety of soups, Pad Thai, and Curry, oh my! Hahaha! We loved it! Pad Thai | My Main Dish: Delicious with a bit of sweetness, & the perfect amount of crispiness to my flavorful tofu, which I enjoyed! I would easily order this dish again! Portions are huge here as well! Thai Iced Tea: Yummy! One of the best Thai Iced teas I've ever had! Warm Welcome: Incredibly friendly customer service! We were checked on constantly throughout our meal and easily with a smile! Parking: Free! Parking space is right up front! Overall: Yes, I would easily visit again! In fact, I'm looking forward to trying more dishes on the menu, including the Taro Milk Tea & shrimp fried rice! Thanks again, our meal was delicious in a very relaxed atmosphere!

Went here today and got the drunken noodles the pad see ew and papaya salad. Everything taste great. The salad was super fresh and flavorful. The noodles were such large portions for the price. Service is outstanding super attentive. I highly recommend.

He said his name is Bond. Just like James Bond. Five stars for friendly warm welcoming service. Bond even recognized my companion who had dined here a week or so ago. Its a casual low-key place,...spacious dining room. Serving up solid Thai food thanks to Bonds' mom and dad in the kitchen. The Bobby of Bobby Thai has retired, so abundant is his nephew. There's a larger location in the Santa Clarita Valley under another name, but Bond us determined to bring this location to its former glory. I ordered chicken satay, which comes as three large flattened skewers, and a container of peanut sauce which is nice, a little runny, no chunks of peanut, but it's tasty without being thick or too peanutty. It also came with a red sauce but looked spicy, so pass. Didn't cone with a vinegar cucumber condiment like at other places but no matter, we dove in and enjoyed it. It's not a dainry satay, but very hearty, so the light peanut sauce works. 5/5 I also ordered to share the pineapple fried rice, hold the shrimp. There's no egg in this dish which is better for me. I'm allergic to egg and to shrimp. I should have asked for the shrimp on the side so my companion could eat it. Next time. The pineapple was juicy....there were raisins cashews and chicken along with some beef too...there's a curry flavor which surprised me....in fact this dish was awesome as a leftover two days later 5/5 it's nice freshly made but overnite that curry rice was darn tasty. 5/5 I took a star off bec if the plastic utensils, the Styrofoam takeout....your food comes to the table already in takeout containers....we decided to dine in so plates, forks knives....to make it less of a take out and mire of a destination restaurant, but they are short handed and probably compensate by making your meal to go at the get go. No need a dishwasher!! Plenty of free parking in Titos Plaza. No problem with credit cards.

Located in Tito's Plaza with lots of free parking. Called in my order and was ready in 15 minutes. They accept credit cards. Ordered fried tofu and rad na chicken. The fried tofu was perfectly fried and I loved the sauce that came with it. Wasn't the typical sweet chili sauce from the bottle. The rad na was filing and delicious. I only wish they gave the noodles in a larger to go tray instead of packed into the to go Chinese takeout square container. The chicken and sauce were separate in a to go soup container. I had to mix on my own plate and the noodles were all stuck together in a large cube shape. There are tables instead. Front counter staff were friendly.

As soon as I walked in I was greeted my a gentleman with the upmost charisma. Food is amazing and the bevs are delicious. The spot is so glamorous and the vibe is great. I really enjoyed my time there and I would recommend.

Pan and his younger sister Nan are so nice in this clean and cozy restaurant!

Bobby Thai on Garvey in El Monte is back open after a complete remodel. Best Thai restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley and definitely one of the best in Los Angeles. I'm going to Thailand in a few weeks but I'm so glad I have Bobby Thai close to home!

Guys. This has to be hands down the best Thai food I have ever tried. Normally I thought Ochas would beat my standards, but this Thai place skyrocketed them. Next time I am going to try the Tom Kah and update this, but I just know i am not going to be disappointed. I am a very picky eater when it comes to Thai food, but like I said it was just overall so amazing and I am so in love with this restaurant. Shoutout to my girl Nanny! Such a sweet soul. -J The food is very very good, while the dinnerware is paper plates and the dishes come in to go boxes, the food is definitely worth it. The spicy drunken noodles were the highlight of the meal and def the fish to get. Also meeting the owners was very cool and it is rewarding as consumers to support local family owned businesses. -K Overall. We love this place! This is our new favorite? PORTIONS WERE ELITE! We both got full and didn't even finish the plates! So that's exciting!

I went to Bobby Thai in El Monte and asked what they reccomended. He learned that I once lived in Chiang Mai and suggested Khao Soy (N8 Curry Noodles), a dish that originated in Northern Thailand. I ordered that without a second thought. Finding Khao Soy is very difficult. It is a noodle dish served in a very mild yellow curry. If you have never had it, you must try it. It was absolutely delicious and authentic since the owner and staff are from Northern Thailand . The service is awesome. The staff was very attentive to all the customers in the restaurant. It is a small quaint locally owned place with sufficient space for everyone. I highly recommend this place. I will be back.

Wanted Thai food and spotted this place on Yelp with very high ratings so headed over to try it out. Located inside Tito's Plaza. Food is served in plastic to go containers, styrofoam plates and plastic utensils. Felt very odd eating with all that plastic inside a restaurant, especially with hot soup in a togo container. Requested for actual plates and bowls and he brought over melamine/plastic bowls and plates, which felt a bit better than styrofoam and clear plastic containers. Iced coffee is very sweet and the taste of coffee is barely there, just a sugary brown drink. 6 metal tables inside, no outdoor dining. Pad Thai is overly sweet and sauced up. Was hard to eat. Never had a failed pad Thai so was extremely surprised. Free extra rice offered. Seafood hot pot was ok . The person running the show was a kind super sweet gentleman. Very friendly service. He offered complimentary rice refill and water. Such a bummer that the food was too sweet and the style is more like street food presentation.

What a find! You get so much food for what you pay. We couldn't finish what we ordered in one sitting. We loved the flavor and it came with a fair amount of meat. Spicy Noodles: This is essentially Pad Kee Mao and this was our favorite of the two orders. We got medium spicy, which was a spicy that builds but doesn't hurt. It had a good amount of basil and soy sauce flavor. Pad Thai: This was very good, but a little sweeter and saucy-er than what I'm normally used to. The lime slice helped to add a bit of zing to the dish. We opted to dine in. Our entrees were served in take-out boxes. We were also provided styrofoam plates and forks.

First time at this location and I decided to order for pickup. The process was smooth, and my food was ready pretty quickly, which I appreciated. The flavors here are a bit different compared to other Thai places I've tried--unique in a good way. The dish I ordered was tasty, though I did find it a tad on the salty side. Still, it was enjoyable, and I'm curious to try some of their other dishes next time I'm in the area.

I have been craving for Pad Thai for awhile. I did not want to drive out too far. This was my first time trying this place. I decided to place a order for pad thai. pad-see-ew (sub for beef), pineapple fried rice, and fried banana with honey. The phone call service was concise and clear. Food was finished in a timely manner. Place looked clean and good for a party of 20 people. I shared the food with my family. I had to say everything was delicious. I have no complaints. Price was decent and portions filled up the whole container. I would definitely recommend this place if you are craving for some Thai food. I will return to try some other plates. read more

I was skeptical about trying this place, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. Pad Thai, Pad See Ew & Tom Kha soup were all delicious even as to go dishes. I also got the coconut drink, which is super flavorful but on the sweeter side. I'd definitely visit Bobby Thai again! read more

Found this place on yelp while we were somewhat in the area. Food was delicious! I know exactly why they have great reviews. Location and parking is not the greatest but we're here for the food. Seems like a mom and pop shop and food was delicious. We ate in and it was fine but they probably cater more to take- out. I would eat here again. read more

My family and I were driving by to find a plce to eat and we stumbled across this thai restaurant. Glad we decided to stop and try this place. The man working is very nice and courteous. The restaurant was very inviting, clean, and has nice decor. The food is delicious with what looks and taste like fresh ingredients. We got the half and half plate (chicken and bbq ribs), teriyaki chicken plate, the bbq plate, and the chicken chow mein. I highly recommend any plate you try. My kids, husband and I enjoyed the food and will be returning soon read more

This thai spot is so amazing. I got the chicken sautée and mango sticky rice. And my husband got the orange chicken plate. Everything is made fresh to order. Friendly staff as well! I've lived here for about 4 or 5 years now and have seen at least 2 or 3 businesses struggle at this location and eventually close down. So I really hope this business survives here. I will definitely be back very soon read more

This place was a nice surprise gem in El Monte and it has only been open for about a month. My family and I tried a hand full of usual items we find at other Thai restaurant: beef Pad See Ew, chicken Pad Thai, larb. They all were pretty delicious! The big surprise and must try is a dish I've never seen before called the Khao Soi (curry noodles). My wife could only find that in Thailand and this place. It definitely blended the flavorful taste of curry with the nice chewy texture of egg noodles. I would recommend this place for anybody looking for a good quality Thai food with super sweet family run owners. I forgot to take pictures of the other food but here is a perfectly fried and crunchy banana that I was able to sneak a picture before devouring it. read more

There pad thai was adequate in serving size, it was moist and delicious not dry like the other place close by.we ordered another dish the pepper steak and that was great too! Cashier was very nice and attentive. Food was AMAZING!!! Pad thai came out super quick, korean meat took a bit longer but the chef gave us extra meat. Both platters were plentiful, I'd say 2 people can eat with one. 10/10 will come back!!! read more

Great friendly family run restaurant. Love their Pad Thai that comes with generous portions, fresh plump chicken and shrimp. I like that sweet chili taste that's distinguishable from pad see Yau. BBQ plates are generous too and tasty. Everything is served in disposable containers but you probably need it anyway since it's hard to finish in one seating. Their chicken coconut soup is delicious too. read more

I've never been to Bobby Thai before. The first impression that I got was from a very friendly and knowledgeable person that took my order. She also gave me a very nice introduction to the restaurant. She told me a lot about the food and a little bit about its history. While I was waiting for my order, I got to sit down in their very nice dining area. The ambiance is refreshing. I also found out that her uncle is the owner of a famous Thai restaurant in Los Angeles called 'Thai Deli". And after having eaten my order of chicken, I have no doubt that this restaurant is going to be my go-to Thai restaurant. read more

This place is awesome. Huge portions and tasty food. Got the Thai BBQ chicken and Pad Thai. Bbq chicken was flatten and skewered and the sauce was delicious with large amount of fried rice to go with it. My wife and I were only able to finish half of our meals and at least I was pretty hungry walking in. All the employees were super nice. No need to go to banana bay or Thai town when there's delicious Thai in El Monte. read more

I hate to be negative about small businesses, but this thai food was just mediocre. My biggest gripe was that every dish was incredibly salty. The pad see ewe was salty, the larb was salty, all noodles were salty. I had to add 2 scrambled eggs and recook it so that it would be edible. I wanted to like this place. read more

Man we finally have a thai place In the SEM...I went this past weekend to go to titos and found this place and went here instead....lady was support nice and it was hot af outside she offered me ice water super nice people....order something I've never tried it was really good...told a few people about this spot already...only thing I suggest they add to menu is peanut sauce and we'll be good to go read more

My friend and I have been to Bobby Thai three times now and we absolutely love it! They are super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is very nice inside with cute decor. We've ordered a variety of their items such as the coconut soup, pad Thai, pad se ew and bbq chicken. All items have been delicious! You definitely can taste the rich tea fragrance notes in each of their drinks. So far, I've tried their One Tea Signature blend milk tea and their Orchis oolong tea with coconut cloud. I also especially love their popping barley topping. It's a unique spin to the traditional boba. It's refreshing a fun to eat. We also got their walnut custard cake, which was a nice treat. They are slightly crispy on the outside, yet pleasantly moist on the inside. The custard inside added just the right about of sweetness. To finish each mini cake off, each contain bits of actual walnuts on the inside, which really made this dessert well worth it. The only reason I am knocking off a star is because of their staff. They were not very friendly or communicative. The majority of the time, they really tried to avoid making eye contact with the customers. This makes the experience feel awkward and unwelcoming.

I didn't like it because it's overly floral and it has the rice. Maybe I misread about the rice? But even so, the drink doesn't taste like a cloud latte. I got 50% sweetness and it tastes more like 75%. I think it's because the fermented rice is already sweetened. Service was good, I ordered ahead and picked up with no issues. The inside has some seating if you want to enjoy your drink inside. Outside, there are also some tables and benches if you prefer. Overall, the drink prices are pretty standard in today's market I'd say. The other drinks I've tried before include the osmanthus rice drink, black sesame slushy, mango pomelo, and the taro milk. Of the ones I have tried, maybe only the mango pomelo one is good. The rest are just okay. Unsure if I'd come back because there are other mango pomelo drinks out there that are better.

The tea taste and milk didn't mesh together well. Oolong tea with pudding also tasted more like water than tea. The pudding was overwhelming. It is similar (if not the same) as ones you get from japanese convenience stores. For the price point, I would have expected berger taste and quality. The wait wasn't worth it for what was being served. I don't think I'd come back to this location but might give it another try elsewhere.

We chilled here for a bit to enjoy our drinks and to avoid the heat a lil, and had a blast.

Not Even Worth One Star! I genuinely regret dining here. The only positive part of the experience was the one friendly server--kind and welcoming despite everything else falling short. The restaurant served dine-in meals on Styrofoam plates and bowls, with plastic utensils and cups. It felt cheap and careless, like a fast-food joint trying to pass as a sit-down restaurant. The food was a major letdown. Overly sour, excessively sweet, and completely lacking the balance and flavor I expect from Thai cuisine. It didn't taste authentic at all. I left feeling frustrated and confused, especially after seeing so many glowing reviews. I highly do not recommend this place. I won't be going back. What a waste of time and money. read more

I'm really glad I found this place! I ordered "chili chicken" and asked for it to be extra spicy. It was just how I liked it. I also ordered teriyaki chicken with beef, fried rice and double Mac. Everything was amazing and fresh. The portions are very generous. The restaurant itself was really clean and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I'm definitely returning here.
