$10 meal Combo B. Pork katsu with rice and green tea!
    Anthony V.

Best bang for your buck if you're looking for a quick cheap meal, amazing how it's only $10! Came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and this place did not disappoint. Tried the pork Katsu $10 meal deal and for the price it was well worth it! Pork Katsu was crunchy, good seasoning. and good portions. Meal also came with rice, lettuce, veggie egg roll (also crunchy). Only complaint was the Katsu curry sauce could use a little more flavor it tasted a little watered down but again for $10?! Can't complain! The service is average, this is just a takeout place but if you want to eat there, they have tables and benches outside. They seem a little short on staff was just two people one at front taking orders and one as a cook in back so prepare to wait a big when you're trying to order.

They had a soft opening deal for their dishes to be $3.99 each instead of their $4.99 price. This location is a former Weinerschnitzel from when I was a kid... since then it's been a variety of things (mexican, chinese cold items, and I think another chinese place). There's sufficient parking. They do most of their ordering online and then prepare it once you've placed the order. It is to-go and they have two tables outside. There is no tea charge, but their tip screen for to go starts at 18%. This place has stiff competition from the dim sum express that is inside the shun fat down the street along with the variety of dim sum restaurants nearby that have dine in and to-go options. The menu is limited and does not have things like rice rolls or ha gow. The items are generally smaller in size (e.g. the buns are pretty tiny) and same for the siu mai. The best things that I got were probably the pork wrapped in tofu sheets. The rest was just okay. This place needs to have something going for it to compete... either to have high volume and highly competitive prices, or large portions, or unique items. Not sure what makes them stand out other than the online ordering system

Wanted to support them, but they kept on changing their business hours. Read the latest review, a fellow Yelper said they seem to have changed ownership and the $10 deal is no longer there. If it's true, what a bummer! The $10 meal with Iced Tea was my favorite/go to. Occasionally, would order a $14.99 veggie dish or dim sum. PREVIOUS REVIEW: Technically, this place is more like a 4-Star, but I'm giving them a five because the cashier girl provides good service. She's friendly and does her job right. Food wise, I would say, the $10 meal is a good deal. It's basically a bento (lunch box) and comes with a drink (iced black or green tea). Taste is not bad either. FOOD: Chicken & Mushroom with Rice 4.5/5 I like getting this one, but mom thinks it's okay. Felt like it's b'coz she forgot the soy sauce for the rice. (Most rice dishes don't need soy sauce, but this one does. It's suppose to be pair with slightly sweet soy sauce). Also, come with Iced Green (or black) Tea for $10...yes please! Sweet n Sour Fish Fillet with Rice 4.5/5 Bf likes this one. I thought it was okay/not bad, but wasn't head over heels with it. However, for $10 including iced tea, I'm not complaining. Eggplant Dish 4.5/5 Zucchini with Minced Pork 4/5 Fried Chicken Wings with Rice 4/5 Water Chestnut Beef Patty Rice Bowl 4/5

TeaBites is an amazing hole in the wall when it comes to quick and delicious appetizers and dim-sum! Love the take-out grab and go concept, it makes it very convenient for customers! I was reccomended this place by a friend in San Gabriel, and it is definitely worth the experience! Their dim-sum is super delicious, and I ordered classics such as the Shrimp and Pork Shumai, Bean Curd Roll, Chicken Feet, and Chicken Bun! The filling on the shumai were very delicately placed, with great flavoring and juices! The shumai is The chicken feet were very crispy and tender, and the chicken bun was packed generous portions of chicken and filling! I had the opportunity to try their noodle dish as well, which was . The aroma of the dishes is very immense and powerful, and I could catch a glimpse of the delicacies wafting into my car. The manager of the store is very kind and accomodating and was super patient with my order! She is super sweet and friendly, and really friendly! They accept cash and credit, which is super convenient! Will definitely come again for my dim sum cravings :)

Drove by a while ago and noticed this new spot opened up. How ordering seems to work is that you order online through a QR code, and place your order through Door Dash for pickup. This is what I ordered: Japanese Charcoal Roasted Coffee - The coffee has a unique caramely flavor to it. I liked it! I would dial down the sweetness a tad bit, but other than that it was perfect. Mini Sticky Rice Wrapped in Lotus Leaves - The flavor of the rice is very soy forward. Not my most favorite, but it satisfies my cravings for lotus-wrapped sticky rice. Deep Fried Fish Fillet - Personally, I didn't enjoy the fish as much because the fish was super thin. I mostly got a lot of crunch without a lot of fish. This item would definitely be more enjoyable if the fish was a bit thicker. Mala Spicy Fish Ball - I really enjoyed the sauce that went on these fish balls! It looked to be a thick curry sauce, and it was enjoyable as a snack. Shrimp & Eggplant Curry Rice - This dish was my most favorite! For the portion price and size, I absolutely think it's worth it. Plenty of eggplant and sauce to go with the rice, though my only complaint was the lack of shrimp (I counted about 4 small pieces). Other than that, the flavors were great, and this dish felt so homey. Overall, from my first impression TeaBites is definitely the type of place I recommend ordering ahead of time for pickup (you can simply google "TeaBites DoorDash"). As for food, I highly recommend the curry and coffee. They have a large menu, and I really want to try some other items for a future visit!

This is the first time I have tried this place. I ordered the $10 combo with a drink and quali egg shaui ma. Both of the items tasted good. The portion of the combo is reasonable. The cashier was friendly and offered good service. I will come back to try other items.

We stopped by for a snack before dinner. We got a drink and bbq pork egg rolls. Both were good. Although, the egg rolls lacked a little filling. The honey green tea was pretty good also. This was a quick satisfying meal. Plus it didn't cost an arm and a leg. I'll be back to try other things.

So I saw a post on Facebook SGV eat page about this new dim sum spot that's running a promo. I decided to DoorDash for today's lunch. I'm so shocked at how bad everything is and I can't believe the owner would advertise this as delicious dim sum?!?! I had to spit out the chicken feet, ribs, dumplings and siumai. The only items that were decent (sesame ball, curry fish ball). Very disappointing.. was really hoping for a decent spot since this location is constantly changing new owners.

Coffee, spare rib daikon miso rice, fish shu mai, shredded chicken rice roll, chives dumplings, sesame balls
    Katie W.

Bf and I went to their soft opening. We ordered: coffee, short rib daikon miso rice, fish shu mai, chives dumplings, shredded chicken rice rolls and sesame balls. The short rib daikon rice was spot on and was tasty, albeit a small entree. Also the shredded chicken rice roll was delicious and the texture of the rice roll was soft yet slightly chewy. Sesame balls had a lovely crunch and I thought the filling was well balanced- not too sweet. Unfortunately the fish shu mai was a miss for us. There was something hard inside and overall we prefer the regular shu mai available at dim sum locations. Also, the chive dumplings were underfilled and under seasoned. I think the Costco Bibligo dumplings is better than these. Overall, we were ok with the food. We will come back to try other items on their menu.

Vegetarian bento with buddhas feast rice eggroll
    Ami T.

Thank you so much for being willing to do a custom catering bento order for us for vegetarian bentos for a memorial service. I couldn't find anyone to deliver at 9am and 50-100 vegetarian no garlic no onion bentos but they were willing to do it and at an amazing price of $10 a bento and an affordable delivery price. Each one came with white rice an egg roll and Buddha feast which tasted quite good! Thank you for being so easy to work with and customizing everything and being very friendly and answering me so fast on text message. Appreciate the help in making the memorial so much easier to execute. I called so many places already and couldn't find anyone to do it so we are very grateful! The bentos came well packed no leaking and disposable utensils.

I saw someone on my facebook talking about this store, said they are doing good and bargain food. $10 each meal entree w/soup or drink. I ordered two meals, $20 and tax is included. Standard flavor, absolutely not something super outstanding. But, 20 bucks with these amount of food. How can you complain about???

    Kathleen L.

I recently drove by an unique A-frame red roof design dim sum and tea place in San Gabriel and was drawn in by their spicy fish balls and fish shumai. They were freshly steamed & delicious compared to my neighborhood dim sum place and the Thai tea was the refreshing complement in great deal during their promo period. Found out they have other food prep meal to go and make my stop covered for the day. Will definitely come again.

    Fish shiu mai
    Jay C.

I hate leaving low star reviews but felt it was necessary to let others know. It should be only one star but people are quick to judge and will assume I'm being dramatic so 2 stars was to get the viewers attention. I especially feel guilty knowing that this is a new business BUT I do wish things change for the better. Hopefully the owners will think of this as a blessing in disguise to help their business... The food was not good. I ordered several dishes to try just to have an idea what everything is like. From the shiu Mai to dumplings, and the rice dish, it was all not good. The saying goes, "You get what you pay for" is 100% true here. Yes the dim sum was cheap in price ($3.99) but it tastes like the frozen ones. Some of the siu mai had fatty hard pieces in them. Also, the sizes were quite small and the fish shiu Mai was the worst. I really couldn't finish and threw them away. The shrimp dumpling was also small (1 small shrimp) wrapped in a very thick rice wrapping. The chicken/vegetable rice was very bland but maybe some people will like that type of flavor. Again, maybe I'm the only one who had a terrible experience and many others liked the food here, but I am being honest and don't do lots of review but do feel I should share the experience. If others don't encounter what I'm talking about, that's great. But if somehow decides to give this place a try and can relate, I really do hope the owners can improve on the quality of food.

We ended up getting a set for $168 this time, which came with 6 dishes. It's also $35 per lb for lobster, and I asked for the smallest one. Apparently, the smallest one was 4.8 lbs, which was another $168, so I'm not sure if they upsold me. Anyways, the food was fantastic and everyone enjoyed it. This is what I thought about the food we got. House Seafood Soup - Simple and clean soup. Good portion, and it was soothing to eat. Lots of squid. (4/5) Clams with Spicy Sauce - Large clams with tons of meat, and the sauce was fire. Always a good choice. (5/5) Crab with Salt & Pepper - Loved the seasoning, and the flavors were solid. (4.5/5) Thai Style Beef Stew - First time trying this, and it was good. A bit different, but the meat chunks were tasty and the overall flavors were good. (4/5) Sautéed Pea Sprouts - Nicely done vegetable dish. It's simple but refreshing with good flavors. (4/5) Fried Whole Fish - This dish was gone so fast because it was delicious. Nicely fried and not overly seasoned. (5/5) Signature Lobster - I feel like you have to get this here since it's their specialty. It's pricey, but in my opinion, it's the best and freshest lobster in town. Tons of green onions, seasoned well, fresh meat, and lots of lobster roe. (5/5) Service was good, and they didn't automatically add a mandatory tip for a large party. The total came out to around $364, which is pricey, but the food was phenomenal. Parking - Valet only, but they have street parking in front. I parked on the street since there were plenty of spots on a Wednesday, but I assume it gets busy on weekends.

Thankfully, the taste lived up to the appearance. The meat was incredibly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. It came right off the bone without falling apart completely, which gave it a really satisfying texture. What I liked most was that the beef itself was the star of the dish. It had a rich, smoky flavor and didn't rely on heavy seasoning or sauce to stand out. The lime wedges on the side were a surprisingly good addition and helped balance the richness of the meat. This was one of those dishes that made everyone at the table stop talking for a moment and just enjoy the food. The Peking duck lived up to the hype. I liked that they use pancakes instead of the buns, and building each bite with hoisin, green onion, cucumber, duck meat, and crispy skin gave a great mix of textures and flavors. The other dishes were solid too. The pea sprouts were fresh and loaded with garlicky flavor without being overpowering. The shrimp fried rice was probably one of the best value dishes we ordered at around $13 -- lots of shrimp mixed throughout and a great filler for the table. The honey walnut shrimp was unique because it came with melon, which added a refreshing touch. The shrimp itself was super crispy and I appreciated that it wasn't drowning in sauce or overly sweet. The French style beef was another standout -- packed with fresh peppers and the meat was incredibly tender. Overall, you really can't go wrong ordering here. The sweet and sour pork was unfortunately a disaster. The pork was sliced paper-thin--so thin that it felt like I was mostly eating batter with barely any meat. I was also disappointed they took the sweet and sour fish off the menu because that dish was amazing a few months ago. The five-color noodles were light, clean, and refreshing. The pork elbow was delicious with a fun, tender texture. The fish maw soup was very good and comforting, though it could have used a little more seasoning. Other than that, it was delicious. The steamed sea bass with soy sauce was incredibly soft and fragrant--a definite must-order. The scallops with vermicelli noodles were another hit: fresh, clean flavors and perfectly cooked scallops. My only suggestion would be to cut the noodles, as they came in one big clump and were difficult to serve. We ordered the beef fried rice but were given lamb instead. It was a bit gamier than expected, but still tasty. The black fungus with tofu was also excellent--well seasoned and full of flavor. Overall, there were a few misses, but the Peking duck, sea bass, scallops, pork elbow, and black fungus with tofu made the meal worth coming back for.

My family and I used to religiously eat lobster noodles whenever we made a trip down to SoCal. The pick of the bunch was 100% Newport Seafood- no negotiations, no contemplations. Unfortunately, the last handful of times have left me extremely disappointed and heavily annoyed. The cost and wait times do not reflect what is actually being provided and most of our food ends up being left behind because it simply isn't worth the calories. In all honestly, I've grown a phobia w/ that specific restaurant at this point because of the countless letdowns. My initial taste of Boston Lobster was about 3 years ago and I had the most enjoyable meal. Due to our LA trip coming to an end, my BD thought we should do it big with some lobster noodles- for good old time's sake. I absolutely refused to go anywhere unless we would be giving Boston Lobster a visit! Sure enough, they did not disappoint! Dinner for 3 adults and 1 toddler consisted of: *Boston House Special Lobster [no spice] + Garlic Noodles for an additional fee. Medium Size 5-6lbs minimally. *French Style Beef Cube *Sauteed Snow Pea Leaves We ate like mf'n KINGS!! Each and every dish was spectacular- even the greens! While we should have gone with the small sized lobster, I'm proud to say we went down with an honorable fight. Lmao!! The lobster was cooked to perfection- meat was sweet, succulent, and so darn tender. The garlic noodles soaked up all of the delicious lobster flavors and were not overcooked and mush. The bo luc lac was flavorful, juicy, and complimented the bed of lettuce, onions, & tomatoes so well. The snow pea leaves weren't tough and old- this truly was a simply yet magical dish. Service was on point and the staff continually came by to swap out our plates full of lobster shells. Above all, there was no wait with our initial arrival. Parking is easy given the fact that BL has a pretty big parking lot specifically for them. 5/5 stars!! We dropped over 3 bills here and it didn't even hurt. Lmao- this place is that damn good! Don't sleep on this joint, y'all. Boston Lobster is the real deal when it comes to authentic Chinese/Vietnamese cuisine. This spot should be so much more hyped than it actually is!
