We just left chili's because of bad service, we walk in here the staff is welcoming, and our waitress ( samantha) comes over and introduces her self and offers us drinks, and gives us food suggestions .. This is a big deal considering the lack of service we just received at chili's. This place is more costly than chili's but You definitely get what you pay for. Better service better food. Bobby Q's closes at 10pm tonight and the staff is still friendly and attentive, as we walked in at 940 ish. Three of us went here last night and other than the noise level in the place, the food was good and the service was fast; almost to fast. The baby backs were fall off the bone good but the BBQ chicken was the star to me. I had the sides of bean and corn and both were just average. I drove all the way from Los Angeles to see a concert at Ak Chin Pavilion yesterday, but I had to scan Phoenix to find a special restaurant to try since it's not every day I will be in the area. Needless to say, I found what I was looking for and it exceeded every expectation. First off, the atmosphere is very much like a roadhouse and I dig the individual lamps over each table. Sharli, my waitress, was very friendly, talkative and attentive to both me and my friend. She answered every question of mine with a lot of detail and built up the food even more, because I wasn't already hyped up enough. Now for the food! Let me begin by saying how amazing the cornbread was. With it's slightly crusty outside, mildly crumbly yet soft center and buttery melt in your mouth flavor I can honestly say it was as close to perfect as you can get. I ordered the 3 meat combo with brisket, baby back ribs, smoked sausage, mac n cheese, baked beans and an additional side of hickory smoked mesquite veggies. Every single bite of this meal was heavenly. The brisket was like butter. It was so tender and full of flavor. The ribs were cooked to perfection. I could not even pull out a bone with any real amount of meat on it. The bones just slid out and the flavor put me on cloud nine. The sausage was very smoky and just bursting with flavor. It had that nice snap when you bite into it. Assuring you that this sausage is the real deal. The baked beans were very flavorful and the little tidbits of brisket inside just amplified the falvor even more. The mesquite veggies made me want all of my veggies prepared like this. My vegan sister would go nuts for these! Last, but most certainly not least, the mac n cheese would satisfy any king or god on any planet and in any galaxy. The cheesiness and creaminess balance was absolutely on point and it blew every other mac n cheese I have ever had out of the water. Needless to say, this was one of the best meals I have ever had. Every single 5 star review is justified. If you love bbq, or just amazing food in general, you owe it to yourself to come here if you are anywhere near Phoenix. My coworkers and I were in town on business. We decided to give Bobby-Q a try for dinner on a Tuesday evening. The drive was a bit long from our downtown Phoenix hotel through some less than great areas. Upon arrival, this place was a bit like an oasis in the desert. The parking lot and building were nicer than expected. We entered the place and were immediately seated. The greeters and waitstaff were all very nice. I read that they were famous for their fried chicken so I ordered the chicken fried chicken dinner, which came with mashed potatoes. What I did not understand, was that the meal was a fried chicken patty with gravy and a side of smashed potatoes. I guess I misunderstood that I was getting a multi-piece fried chicken dinner. But...I must admit it was quite tasty. I did ask for extra gravy as I thought it was sparse. The cool thing about this place was the fresh made mini donuts you get at the end of the meal. They were hot and delicious. Overall I found the food good but overpriced for what you got. This included my coworkers meals. Easily my new favorite bbq place. I have been to many bbq joints around Phoenix, and have a few favorites... but Bobby Q has the most tender pulled pork I've ever had. My favorite part of a bbq meal is the cornbread and good gravy, their cornbread is freaking amazing. I brought my dad with me the second time I went and he ordered a bunch of food to take home to eat throughout the week... yeah. That good. FAR FROM THE NORMAL BUT A SMASH Ok so we hosted our wedding December 22, 2018 and who would have thought we would hit a homerun choosing Bobby Q to cater our wedding. We had a classic wedding with a southern style flavor for our wedding guests. They loved it!! We had the Mac n cheese, cornbread, baked beans, baby back ribs and smoasted chicken. Needless to say our guest were happy to have traveled from so far away and end up with a meal that felt like home. This review is a little late. We got the thanksgiving pre-fixe meal from Bobby-Q and damn it was amazing!! We will definitely be ordering it again this year and wish they did it more often. The staff was amazing and friendly. Love eating at Bobby-Q but the family meal to go really blew me away. But boy were we oh so happy that they were because we ended up finding Bobby Q's. Again, sticking to the whole honesty thing, we loved everything about this joint. From the moment we walked in and saw just how charming the venue was to the exceptionally good customer service they delivered, this place was on point. Our waiter even had the perfect balance of knowing when to check on us and when not to. He kept our drinks topped off and was so knowledgeable about everything they had. You could tell the staff took pride in working there. We shared a dinner combo: ribs and top sirloin with a baked potato, mac n cheese, and roasted corn. We also shared their signature mud slide pie. Everything was good but let me break this feast down to my personal favorites: The Ribs - I can totally see why they'd be dubbed "World Famous" for it. I mean, the meat literally falls right off the bone while maintaining the right amount of tenderness you can only find in a perfectly slow-smoked BBQ. The Roasted Corn - I've never had anything like it. It's rich with buttery goodness and makes a stance with the char it leaves in your mouth long after you've digested. This is a can't miss stop in the town of Phoenix. A great western theme complemented by a great selection of new and classic country hits. The service starts out with some homemade corn bread that if not careful will easily keep you eating more. I got the three meat platter and shared with my significant other and we were stuffed. I highly recommend the baby back rips, brisket, and Mac and cheese. These were definitely the highlights of my meal. This is one of my favorite BBQ joints in Phoenix. Whether inside in the dining room or outside on the lush patio surrounded by an impressive garden array of color, Bobby Q is a great place to relax and gnaw on a few bones with friends or family. It's expanded from this original location just off the I-17 and 28 Ave, with spots in Mesa and near central Phoenix/Scottsdale. Between my ambitious belly and generous friends at meet ups, there's little I haven't tried on the menu. Here, despite the availability of burnt ends and lean or fatter options, the brisket doesn't quite make my favorite list. It's dry, even with additional sauce, and often my mouth registers char. It's got the perfect pink smoke ring that indicates properly cooked brisket. It isn't bad, really. Just not my favorite. Pulled pork is better, whether on a sandwich or piled high on a platter. It's reliable but not quite as sweet and homey as the pork at Pork on a Fork or even the chain Famous Dave's. Writing that makes me sad. I want Bobby Q to just step it up and get a bit messier before I crown it Piggy Queen. Chicken is where this place takes me down south and leaves my face and fingers dirty and grinning. Smoked to silky perfection and then topped with the perfect amount of sauce, this is my guaranteed highlight whether I scarf down half the bird or get it pulled into juicy strands and chunks. The menu includes a host of southern favorites and even a few steakhouse classics. Side options include all the classics like a creamy potato salad with egg and mustard, BBQ baked beans with generous bits of meat and heat, slaw, roasted vegetables and more. I've only managed to order one dessert here, a rich cheesecake with a caramel aroma that was brought out with four spoons for the table. That habit from well meaning servers gets my goat. If I wanted to share then I'd ask. Your bringing them out makes me look greedy. Quit that. Of course, the best dessert at Bobby Q isn't even on the menu. I confess, it's my favorite treat there. Servers bring out tiny brown paper lunch bags filled with hot cinnamon sugar donuts, barely the size of a donut hole. Imagine them crispy and spicy then melting on your tongue and floating into your tummy. Bliss. My only complaint? Hoggy pals who can't stop themselves from grabbing extras before the bag makes its greasy way around the table. One of the options I'm dying to try at Bobby Q is their Thanksgiving dinner to go. It includes a smoked turkey, a selection of holiday sides and easy instructions for a price you can't beat. Expect more catering options from them soon. We have been here many times and is usually at least good to outstanding. This time it was just okay. We were seated right away. The server came over right away, but he went back and forth as far as being friendly and not so much. They must have not had any busers as everyone was stressed. Most of the meat was super dried out and two of our orders were wrong. One of the managers (a female) looked like she was ready to quit, she was not happy helping us correct the situation. She just told us the kitchen was busy. So busy that they were getting the orders wrong. We had to flag someone down to get drink refills and napkins and BBQ sauce.
