If you're looking for a great BBQ spot with a great atmosphere, Bobby Q's is definitely worth checking out! The atmosphere and ambiance were excellent, making it a really enjoyable place to sit down and have a meal. We started with the loaded baked potato, and it was delicious. The potato was cooked just right, not too hard and not overly soft, with just the right amount of butter and toppings. We also ordered the ranch salad. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, although I would have liked to see a few more cucumbers. The jalapeño cheddar sausage plate had just the right amount of spice. The flavor was good, but unfortunately, the sausage was a little too rubbery. It seemed like it may have been cooked just a bit too long. Still, it had good flavor and was enjoyable. And if you like sweet tea, theirs definitely lives up to the name! It was sweet. Overall, the food was good, the atmosphere was great, and the prices seemed very reasonable. Definitely a place I'd consider coming back to and trying something else from the menu.

We were there last night. The food, the drinks and the friendliness of the staff were excellent as always. My complaint about last night is about the temperature of the restaurant. It was so warm that I started sweating. They had some portable AC around, so obviously their main AC wasn't working properly. I know this things happen, but they should had tell us in advance about the temperature problem, or maybe they could have suggested us to sit closer to the portable AC so we could be more comfortable. We were expecting to enjoy a good moment. It didn't happen

While very friendly, Staff seemed quite distracted from being seated until i asked for the check. The cornbread and pulled pork nachos were delicious. The decor inside was very well done and very clean. Will be back

The food was outstanding, and the decor and environment was really nice as well. But the most outstanding part was the staff, particularly our server, Omar. My husband and I were up from Tucson for a sporting event I was competing in, and came here for my celebratory dinner. Omar was incredibly friendly, attentive, and just had a wonderful personality. I highly recommend requesting his section (although all the staff was very nice!). We will definitely be back when we're in town again!

This place is a must try! The ambiance is so fun! We had a party of 6 and were easily accommodated! The food was all delicious! We ate family style and ordered a ton of apps and shared it all. The service was great! The guy at the bar was so kind. There were no complaints. Everyone was very satisfied! Definitely recommend giving them a try!

Our visit to Bobby Q in Mesa began a bit roughly - but TL;DR; the good news is some great staff turned the evening around! How a team reacts to problems tells me more about the place than just having a 3 or 4 star experience - this group showed experience, grace, and real concern. To start - if you want a booth, make sure you specify that when you put in your name - it changes the wait time. While we waited, we ordered Cokes from the bar, and Marquis gave a warm welcome and great service! Upon finally sliding into our booth, we found the seats hadn't been brushed off - and it was very crumb-y (pun intended) - we ended up using our napkins and then grabbing new sets from a nearby table. We also learned the Coke was FLAT and bitter - not great. However our server, Calvin, during that typical greeting and small talk actually invited us to share our concerns, asking us not to hold back and as a result went above and beyond to turn our experience around. An additional visit from Manager Josh followed, apologizing and genuinely seemed to want the the feedback as a tool for improvement and coaching for some new staff. From that point, everything was great! From getting replacement drinks, to sampling the pulled pork and brisket to tender ribs, and the good sized Cajun shrimp appetizer, the team truly redeemed the evening, and the apple cobbler (it's got a pastry top!) and cinnamon sugar donuts was a great close to the meal. Calvin and Josh gave a masterclass in how to turn a meh start into a memorable meal. We're looking forward to going back - next time with a booth request upfront!

Awesome lemonade! Not too sugary and not too sour

Bobby Qs is a great place for higher quality BBQ experience. You can get standard BBQ items, Salads, Burgers, sandwiches and Steaks. There's something for everyone here and the food is great. Also the service from DJ was top notch. He was very attentive and helpful for our dinner experience. Just a tip, if you have a group of 4-6, order the Hog Heaven. More than enough food for the group and keeping it easy for everyone. Great place for BBQ!

We took my parents and my little sister to try Bobby Q since we've always enjoyed the food. The food was great as always but service provided by Calvin was tremendous! He gave us very good advice between beer fries vs mashed potatoes and was so kind and patient with my indecisive little sister who had no clue what to order. He super knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive to our needs through our meal. My dad said he will definitely come back again to try more of the menu! 10/10 visit :)

Closer to a 4.5 because Crystal was awesome and there are many things to like about Bobby Q's. The place looks great and has a fun, energetic (but welcoming) vibe - like a bbq place should have. Sat at the bar to avoid any wait and it was a great choice because Crystal took excellent care of us. Ordered the "Whole Hog" and got to try different meats and sides. The mashed potatoes with peppered gravy were a hit, and the brisket was tender. Also enjoyed the pulled chicken and beef ribs. Overall good food - definitely get the mash! Also ordered drinks and those were terrific! Smoked old fashioned and Blood Orange Margarita - both excellent. The Blackberry Smash was delicious, too.

Ahmazing!! Awesome food, awesome service! Dominque was amazing!! She literally was one of the best funny, attentive and gracious servers I have ever had!! I have never had a bad thing here EVER. The laid back fun mood of the restaurant always brings me back!

Came here for dinner and was glad we had reservations. There were quite a few people waiting for tables, and there is not a lot of space to wait. This place has a great atmosphere--very rustic, with lots of reclaimed wood and exposed brick. If you take a walk around the bar, you can see how big this place is. One big complaint we had was the drink menu. It's had nice colorful pictures of each cocktail, but absolutely no description of the cocktails. That would be great if we were only in an Instagram world, but we actually like to choose our cocktails by what's in them, and more importantly what's NOT in them. I love mezcal, and hubby hates it. Hubby loves whiskey, and I hate it. But there was no way to know the ingredients. We asked the server if there was a menu that listed what was in each drink. She said no and I asked how are we supposed to know what's in the drink? She said she knows them all and we would have to ask her. She really did know them all, but we only asked for a couple because we didn't want her standing there giving us the rundown of 20 cocktails. I'm not sure why they would do it this way, but it seems like a really bad thing. I really love the cornbread and butter that every table gets. So happy to see our server bring us the basket! Hubby got the brisket salad and I got to pecanha steak with chimichurri, mashed potatoes and pecan coleslaw. I loved every single thing about my meal. The chimichurri on the pecanha steak was delicious! On the other hand, hubby said that his brisket did not have much flavor and that it was just okay. Of course at the end of the meal we got a little bag of the signature cinnamon sugar donuts! That's always a treat! We had a nice time and I really liked my dinner, but they seriously need to think about a different cocktail menu.

Gosh I haven't had good barbecue for such a long time. Like 17 years long since I left the Midwest. Coming here made me miss home. The cost: We started out with cornbread, had 3 entrees (1/2 rack ribs, roasted chicken and fried chicken) and 3 drinks and a fabulous dessert which left us $81 lighter but 100lbs fuller! The food: the cornbread wasn't dry and I could taste the corn and I got a hint of a pepper flavor. I'm a big chicken fan. Anytime we eat out I always preference chicken. I've eaten a lot of dry rubbery chicken and bobby does chicken right. Juicy chicken with great seasoning and it had a crispy skin. My sides of mash potatoes and roasted vegetables were on point. Excellent chicken! My son had southern fried chicken with mash potatoes and Mac n cheese. He really wants to put in a word for a Mac n cheese entree with chicken on the side! The ribs. Baby back fall off the bone and obviously the sauce has to be good. And it was good. So good. My hubs wants to come back and try the steak. I'm totally down. We shared a complimentary chocolate overload since they were out of fresh made donuts and it was a good way to finish a meal even though we initially decided against it. It was the "ice cream and the cake". and maybe the walnut fudge. The service: Heather was awesome. Everything refilled before we asked, bussed our plates to make room for elbows and made great recommendations on the food. She gave us a history of how Bobby McGhee does BBQ right and I could tell they are really confident in how they do things which makes spending $ on good food easy. The atmosphere: it's dimly lit but enough lighting to enjoy conversation and food with family and friends. The smell of the food is enough to get you excited. The rest of the staff was awesome too. Our host was super friendly, i watched the other wait staff interact w guests and they were great also. Overall it's not a cheap chain restaurant so don't expect that kinna vibe here. It's great food at warranted prices but incredibly satisfying. read more

Had a taste for BBQ today. Decided to try this new location with my husband and son. My husband and I ordered the two meat combo with mac and cheese with ranch beans. Omg! There was so much food! We're so use to going to BBQ places that cost a lot but give you only a little bit of food. They do not cheat you on food. My two meat choices were beef ribs, brisket. The brisket was sooooo good! The ribs had a lot of meat on them. The sides were excellent. Very pleased and stuffed! Our server Miles did an excellent job. He messed up a little with the dessert but the general manager corrected it so it was fine. I will come back. read more

Outstanding! We have pondered giving this place a try but hey, Charleston's and Texas Roadhouse are right there. Today we took the plunge...and added a GREAT place to our weekly plans! The brisket is to die for, the pulled pork is perfection on a bun, and the corn bread brings back childhood memories of my grandmothers home!! Next week we'll try other items but I have no doubt they'll be just as good!! And a shout out to Christopher!! He waited our table...a fine gent, super helpful, and very personable! We'll look for him too!! All in all...a wonderful experience!! read more

Went to Bobby Q in Mesa after buying a gift card from Costco the same day that included Bobby Q and various other restaurants. When I went they had a notification on their counter that no longer accepted the gift I talked with the manager basically said to bad. They should work with Costco to pull there restaurant form the offer. We did get the order the food was okay but we were shorted on our order. We will not return because of this bag experience. read more

Said would be ready in 30 min.., I showed up at 40 min to give myself a little extra time. then waited 10 min to simply talk to the counter person. Took over an hour to receive our food after initial order. They state their meat is smoked over 20hrs....the texture of our food was tough, certainly NOT the texture or taste from meet being smoked over 20hrs. I consider myself an above average cook/bbq/smoking individual and my meet literally falls off the bone with meat being smoked 12hrs....they definitely need some work at that location. Since this was my 1st time there, I will give the benefit of the doubt, but for now I will certainly stick to my own smoking. read more

Setting up reservations was easy, and even though it was a Saturday night, we didn't wait long to get seated (less than 10 minutes). Trevion (our server), was great at explaining some of the menu items, and we had a large party, so his patience was appreciated. Even though they were short staffed, they did a great job of delivering everything together (even with management's help). A good variety of menu items to choose from, and there were no complaints from the group. Prices are very reasonable too, and the food was great. From the mountains of Nachos, to the brisket, to the shrimp, it was all good. Now, for an FYI, as noticed on the receipt, be prepared, that since Visa and Mastercard have upped their fees to businesses, it appears that if you use a card to pay here, you'll be tacked with an additional 3% on your bill to cover that fee. Cash is still king.....until crypto creeps in. We'll definitely be going back, but with cash in hand. read more

Food is good, not great. Prices are ridiculously high. Joe's BBQ is just as good or better, and you get 2x-3x the portion size. I ordered their "JUMBO" potato with bbq brisket. Others in my party had meals with a baked potato. When my "JUMBO" potato arrived I was very disappointed. My "JUMBO" potato was the same size as their side potato. There was about 2-3 tablespoons of brisket on top. I paid, I think $13/$14 for a regular sized potato with about 3 bites of meat. At Joe's BBQ I get a jumbo potato the size of a small nerf football with about a cup of brisket for $10. Service was fine. I don't think I'll be going back. read more

I had super low expectations for this place and frankly had been avoiding even trying it because for some reason I just thought it would be bad...probably 50% due to the sign (seems pretty basic) and 50% due to locations (lots of bad flops nearby) BUT...omg! I feel so dumb- this is seriously amazing food. Every thing I had was delicious and I cannot wait to come back. Even the free doughnuts were exceptional- really? They are free- they could have been mediocre. No way- these guys are killing it. The service was good, the ambiance was nice for a barbecue restaurant. Moral of the story- don't be afraid to go against your instincts and try something that seems like it won't be good. Also- definitely try the fried chicken, macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes! BUT SERIOUSLY- EVERYTHING IS GOOD! read more

Came tonight for the first time with the Wifey. It was our 7 year anniversary and knew she loves barbecue so wanted to give this place a chance. We were greeted by 2 nice Young ladies that quickly found us a spot and took us to our table. After a couple minutes our server showed up and introduced herself(not all servers do so I liked that).Irma then asked us if it was our first time so she could give us s brief history about the place and the techniques used for cooking. After that we started look a the menu (very hard to decide due to the variety) and started with the artichoke spinach queso dip that was delicious along with a red and green homemade salsa that as an expert in the field(born and raised in Mexico lol) was left very impressed with the flavor and texture. From the cocktail menu I got the coconut mojito that has the perfect balance between flavor and liquor (not to sweet and not tasting like a virgin piña colada ). For the main course had to try the ribs so ordered the 2 ribs plate witha baked potato and grilled veggies. My Wife got the jumbo potato with pulled pork and she loved it!!!.Did I mentioned that our food was on our table after 15 minutes or ordering it? Insanely fast!.Portions are so huge that barely finished half of my plate.Overall we have a great experience and we will definitely be back. read more

The food is really, really good. The first time we ate at Bobby Q's we were doing tastings for my daughter's wedding. We were at the Phoenix location and they brought a sampling of all of their most popular dishes. We booked with them as soon as we were done trying it! They catered the wedding and the food was incredible. Initially the guests were saying things like "BBQ at a wedding? Eww." But by the end of the reception they were telling me it was the best wedding food they've ever had. We had special wedding bibs for everyone and there was plenty of food! I've since visited the new Mesa location several times and just made reservations for Mother's Day. Hard to believe this is the same owner as Bobby McGees! Bobby Q offers a culmination of barbeque favorites. Along with extensive barbecue research mixed with culinary expertise, the secret behind Bobby Q's barbeque lies within the slow cooking process over Tennessee hickory wood paired with the perfect blend of spices found in the special dry rub for the meat, as executed by barbeque master, Executive Chef Mark Hittle. This results in succulent hand-pulled pork, smoky sausage links, fork-tender brisket, and ribs that fall right off the bone. The starters will whet your appetite and the desserts will satiate your sweet-tooth cravings, but the barbecue is the show-stopper. She loves Alice in Wonderland. She was mistaken and thought it said Java not Kava. She thought Java Kava was a coffee lol So to my surprise when I get there, Kava is a dirt water that is very, very strong and pungent and not my cup of tea lol But besides that, this place is so hip and cool. The bartender was very, very informative and he let us know that they will give you your first dose of Kava for free to try it. I could not choke all of it down. My friend was a trooper goddess, and she choked the whole thing. I was so impressed by her I am very sensitive to things. I am a big baby sometimes so I did not drink the rest of mine because immediately I had a gag reflex going on lol So I did not drink the initial dose, but I ordered the Horchata beverage that had cover in it. And they have different doses, strengths and different styles of, so this is just what I ordered. It was the last light, on the menu he suggested for us. So even though I did not enjoy the Kava, it is not my jam. I would try it again lol I know that sounds crazy even after the strange tingling in my throat went away after everything I've said because I saw other people coming in and they had huge juicy type of Kava drinks and I was thinking well you know, maybe I'll come back and try the juicy, drink next time instead of focusing on this particular experience And the reason I say that is because the bartender was so great and informative and it is a fantastic vibe in there and it was busy enough for a weird Wednesday afternoon. So they have trivia karaoke all kinds of stuff throughout the week and I could see this being a really fun place. So if you like Kava, you should really come here. It is very fun. Don't feel intimidated if you're not good at riddles--I stressed about this part a little bit beforehand. Don't! Just read it. She gives you a clue that basically tells you what to do, and it's super easy. TIP: Make sure you take a picture in the little riddle/entrance room because you DON'T come back through that room when you leave! We almost missed that opportunity. Once you're inside, it has a really nice, romantic speakeasy atmosphere. We loved the live jazz and really enjoyed the whole experience. It would also be so much fun to dress up a little in Prohibition-era style for the night. For drinks, I had the Neapolitan and my husband had a Manhattan. Yes, the drinks are a little strong--but isn't that how they're supposed to be in a Prohibition speakeasy? Overall, we really enjoyed Alchemy 48. It's romantic, a little different, and the hidden entrance and riddle make it more of an experience than simply going out for drinks. Definitely a fun addition to a date night! The drink menu was good but I really wasn't wowed. They did offer three mocktails which wasn't really impressive and the cocktails did include a variety of liquors and flavor profiles but again, wasn't as extensive or interesting as some other speakeasies around town. The food menu was very disappointing - a lot of dairy and bread - pretzels with cheese, flatbread, queso with chips, and "rabbit food" - hummus with bread and vegetables. We asked to have all vegetables instead of bread and they did accommodate with a generous helping of full-size rainbow carrots and cherry tomatoes. We actually ran out of hummus before we could finish the vegetables. I understand elevated pricing for the aesthetic/experience but I did think the pricing here was a little bit high for what was received.

** | Complete Disappointment - Awful Service and Dirty Tables** I rarely take the time to write negative reviews, but our recent experience here was so incredibly frustrating that I felt compelled to share. We came in hoping for a good meal, but from the moment we were seated until the moment we left, it was a disaster from start to finish. First and foremost, the level of cleanliness in the dining room was completely unacceptable. When we were sat, the table was a total mess. It was incredibly sticky to the touch, visibly damaged, and clearly hadn't been wiped down because it was still covered in crumbs and debris from the previous guests. It's basic restaurant standard to properly sanitize a table between seatings, but that clearly didn't happen here. The service only made a bad situation worse. Our server was completely checked out, highly inattentive, and acted like taking our order was a massive inconvenience. We spent most of our night trying to wave someone down just to get basic refills and updates. To add insult to injury, the complete lack of urgency throughout the entire meal was baffling. We watched other tables around us--who arrived well after we did--get greeted, served, and cleared while we sat staring at a dirty table waiting an eternity just for our drinks to arrive. When the food finally did come out, nobody community bothered to check if we needed anything else, leaving us without silverware or napkins to even clean up the mess that was already left on the table. When we finally asked to speak to management about the lack of service and the dirty condition of our table, the manager on duty was absolutely no help whatsoever. Instead of apologizing, taking responsibility, or trying to make things right, they were completely dismissive and acted like our complaints were a burden. It is incredibly frustrating to deal with leadership that simply does not care about customer satisfaction. What bothers me the most is the total lack of accountability from the entire team. A restaurant can have an off night, but when the server is dismissive and the management is actively hostile to constructive feedback, it shows a deep-rooted issue with how this establishment is run. If the people in charge don't care about basic hygiene or customer courtesy, it trickles down to everyone else, and it absolutely showed during our visit. This wasn't just a sub-par dining experience; it was a masterclass in how to alienate customers. Between the terrible service, the unhelpful management, and the dirty environment, it was an all-around horrible experience. We will definitely not be returning, and I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you want decent service and a clean place to eat. read more

We had a great experience this week at Bobby Q! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and quickly shown to our table. Along the way, we caught a glimpse of mini donuts being made, and let's just say they had our attention. More on those later\! Carrie was our server, and she was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. Things got off to a great start with the complimentary cornbread. It was warm, moist, and the perfect way to kick off a barbecue feast. I ordered the brisket sandwich with mac and cheese. The brisket had a wonderful smoky flavor and was cooked well. It was just a little drier than I personally prefer, but I'd happily order it again because the flavor was excellent. The mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy, and a great pairing. My husband started with the loaded potato soup, which he thoroughly enjoyed. For his entrée, he ordered the Tomatillo Brisket Mac & Cheese. Their homemade mac and cheese was topped with smoked brisket, tomatillo sauce, chives, and sour cream. It was creamy, comforting, and the tomatillo added a fresh, slightly tangy twist that kept the dish from feeling too heavy. II was an appetizer but more than enough to be eaten for the meal. Our daughter ordered the pulled chicken with potato salad. The chicken was tender, flavorful, and the potato salad was a delicious classic side that complemented it perfectly. Now, about those mini donuts...they were absolutely worth saving room for! Fresh, warm, and coated in cinnamon sugar, they were the perfect sweet ending to an already wonderful meal. Carrie brought each II us a small bag and they were also complimentary. Between the friendly service, delicious food, and those unforgettable donuts, Bobby Q delivered a barbecue experience we'll definitely be back for. read more

I had high expectations for Bobby Q's in Mesa, especially since I wanted to treat my parents, who were visiting from out of town, to a nice meal. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what I had hoped for and left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. One of the biggest issues was the reservation process, which seemed completely pointless. We made a 5:45 PM reservation, expecting to be seated promptly. Instead, we were left waiting until 6:40 PM--nearly an hour later. If reservations do not guarantee a table at the scheduled time, what is the point of making one? Walk-ins were being seated at a similar pace, making it clear that reservations are not prioritized. When we were finally seated, our party of five was placed at a table meant for four, and we were simply told to "pull up a chair." This lack of proper accommodation was frustrating, especially given that the restaurant had advance notice of our party size. It felt unprofessional and unprepared. The food, unfortunately, did not redeem the experience. The Caesar salad tasted as if it was made with straight mayonnaise, rather than a proper dressing. The rib tips were 50% fat, making them chewy, greasy, and nearly inedible. For the amount spent, I expected fresh, high-quality barbecue, not what felt like leftover trimmings and store-bought sides. I wanted this to be a special meal for my parents, but instead, it was a letdown. Tonight was simply not good at all and a complete waste. While the ambiance was nice, it does not make up for the poor service, lack of organization, and subpar food quality. I will not be coming back to chance it again. Hopefully, others have a better experience, but based on tonight, it was a big disappointment. read more

Title: A Fantastic Dining Experience at Bobby Q in Mesa Recently, my wife, brother, sister-in-law, and I had the pleasure of dining at Bobby Q in Mesa, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. Bobby Q certainly lived up to its reputation for mouthwatering dishes. From the tender, smoky barbecue meats to the flavorful sides, each bite was a delight to the senses. Let me start this review by saying that I NEVER take the time to write reviews. I even re-downloaded the Yelp app just to write this review. I live across the freeway from this place and ever since it went up, I can often smell it when I go outside. I love barbeque with a passion but hadn't tried this place until tonight. This is, hands down, the GREATEST barbeque I have literally ever tasted. I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of fries for just under $13, and it even came with some cornbread. I placed the order to go, drove across the street after placing the order, and it was already ready to pick up! Now for the food. The fries? Literally the BEST fries I've ever had. These thin, season salted fries were absolutely incredible, and came in a respectably sized portion. There were 2 things of cornbread included that I wasn't expecting when I picked up the order, so that was a bonus- fluffy and warm. Now for the sandwich. This sandwich was decently sized, smothered in house barbeque sauce, and came with 2 extra, rather large sides of hot and mild sauce. My god.. this sauce was insanely good. The meat was very tender and not fatty at all, I added more of the hot barbeque sauce to it and literally couldn't stop eating it. I used to swear by Tom's BBQ on Country Club, but they have just been dethroned in my book. I will absolutely be ordering from Bobby Q's many more times in the future. Well done you guys, well done. read more

This is our first time here. We didn't get the greatest first impression. The hostess said hello and asked how many. It was 3 adults and my 2 year old son. We were not offered a high chair during the whole we were there. He sat on my lap for part of the time a little inconvenient when trying to eat. Our server made good suggestions which was nice for our first time. However we saw a lot of staff walk back and forth and we sat along the ilse so you couldn't have missed us. Our food was delivered and we didn't have silverware or napkins. The cornbread had good flavor though. I told the server at the beginning of the meal it was my birthday celebration. So she offered a dessert for after the meal. We didn't get any refills until toward the end of the meal when I asked for it. There were so many plates on our table that were empty that I had to ask to be cleared. The meal itself wasnt bad, it had good flavor but the sides could've been bigger. After dinner my dessert was delivered which was nice, thank you. I got the chocolate cake but we had no silverware again. It had ice cream in the cake which melted. It was a nice touch but we didn't get to really enjoy it. Overall it couldve been better. read more

I recently visited Bobby Q BBQ restaurant and I must say it was an amazing experience! The food, atmosphere, and service were all outstanding. Let's start with the ribs. The meat was so tender and juicy that it fell right off the bone, and the BBQ sauce was the perfect balance of sweet and smoky. If you're a meat lover like me, you won't be disappointed. Now let's talk about the sides, Bobby Q BBQ has an impressive variety of sides that will leave you wanting more. I tried the mac and cheese, cornbread, and beer fries and all three were delicious. The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy, the cornbread was perfectly moist and dense and the fries were crunchy and fresh. The atmosphere at Bobby Q BBQ is fun and inviting. The restaurant has a rustic vibe with a modern twist, and the staff is friendly and attentive. They even have live music on certain nights, which adds to the overall experience. Overall, Bobby Q BBQ is a must-visit restaurant for anyone who loves BBQ. The ribs are phenomenal, the sides are varied and tasty, and the atmosphere is fun and lively. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning soon! read more

My first experience at Bobby Q's was for my birthday and was incredible! Grace was our server and she was just perfect. Her professionalism and attentiveness were evident throughout the entire meal, making me feel like a valued guest from start to finish. What impressed me the most was Grace's genuine care and attention to detail. She anticipated my needs before I even had to ask, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of perfect. In addition to her outstanding service, Grace exudes a natural warmth and charisma that made the entire dining experience feel personal and memorable. Bobby Q's is undoubtedly a fantastic restaurant, but it's Grace who takes it to the next level. Her unwavering commitment to excellence and genuine hospitality have left a lasting impression on me. If you're looking for more than just a meal, but an unforgettable dining experience, ask for Grace at Bobby Q's. She's the epitome of hospitality, and I can't wait to return for another exceptional meal under her care. Thank you, Grace, for making my birthday truly unforgettable. read more

Wow!!! This place is hands down the best BBQ restaurant I have been to and I have been to a lot! Went here with my husband and 2 sons and boy was the food and service amazing!!! My husband and I shared the Hog Heaven. We chose the beef ribs, St. Louis ribs, pulled chicken, and beef brisket for our meats and the roasted corn, shoestring fries and mac and cheese for our sides. It was ALL DELICIOUS! Everything was so perfectly smoked and tender. The sides were equally as great! My oldest son ordered the burger and he loved it. My youngest son ordered the jumbo shrimp and he love it as well. I would recommend making reservations (they take reservations of any party size) because this place gets busy. Made a reservation and was seated immediately. I recommend Bobby Q's to anyone who wants good bbq! This is now our go-to spot for BBQ when my hubby doesn't want to man the grill! Try it!!!! read more

My husband and I were in last night for dinner and were blown away. First off the place has a great atmosphere and the remodeling done to the restaurant that was there before paid off. There a lot of good seating options, but we choose to sit at the bar. The bartender Drew really made the night for us. He was quick with unique drink suggestions that weren't on their cocktail menu (which had plenty of good options too), he was very friendly without ever being too much and checked back at the right times. His service is why we will hands down come back. Our food came out fast and everything was delicious. I don't normally go for chicken at a BBQ joint but the smoasted chicken was amazing. My husband had the brisket, which was so good we had to trade some food. The fresh doughnuts at the end of the meal were the perfect cherry on top. read more

I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews and pictures, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. I ordered a 1/2 pound of brisket and 1/2 pound of pulled pork. The pulled pork had a delightful smoky flavor and remained moist, without overpowering the palate. However, I was disappointed with the brisket. It lacked any smoke flavor and had no bark, resembling more of a pot roast than traditional barbecue. The meat easily fell apart, whereas I expected it to have a nice crust with visible spices. It felt like the restaurant only used the smoker for show, rather than producing genuine barbecue. The server was friendly, but failed to refill our drinks throughout the meal. Perhaps it was just an off day, but based on this experience, I don't see myself returning. I hold a higher standard for what constitutes true barbecue. read more

Bobby-Q stands out as a culinary gem, offering a dining experience that seamlessly blends delectable flavors, impeccable service, and an inviting ambiance. From the moment you step in, the tantalizing aroma of smoked barbecue sets the stage for a memorable meal. The menu boasts perfectly seasoned ribs and mouthwatering brisket, showcasing the restaurant's unwavering commitment to quality. Our waitress, Karie, elevated our experience with her exceptional service--attentive, friendly, and armed with insightful menu recommendations. The rustic yet modern decor, coupled with soft lighting, creates a cozy and intimate atmosphere that strikes a perfect balance between sophistication and warmth. Whether you're a barbecue enthusiast or a first-timer, Bobby-Q promises not just a meal, but a culinary journey worth savoring. read more

We recently visited Bobby-Q in Mesa to celebrate a special occasion for our youngest daughter. Having been there before and not totally blown away, we decided to give it another shot. Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. Our server struggled with basic service, like keeping drinks refilled, and when the food finally arrived after quite a wait, our daughter's order was completely wrong. By the time they corrected it, the rest of us had already finished our meals. Though the staff and manager apologized and offered a free dessert, it wasn't about the money--it was about the experience we were hoping to have. After two disappointing visits, it's clear that there's a consistent issue with service and attention to detail. We won't be returning. read more

I'm a great granny and when my adorable 6 y/o GGD stayed a couple of days with me, I was determined we would not be eating at McDs. We pulled into Bobby Q and we were not disappointed. Our server was terrific. I mentioned I'd never been there before so when I waffled over potato salad and pecan cole slaw she graciously brought me a bit of both. A rather big bit, I must say, and both sides were delicious. Cutie Pie loved the toothpick fries and her ribs. We both had enough leftover to take home. If you are a plant person, you must go just for the plants; they are gorgeous. They've created their own microclimate and the scents will take you to a moss-covered forest in Marin County. It is truly lovely. read more

This is a horrible place and if you are from Globe, Miami or any where like this just know that all the small time workers from there were let go during this horrible crisis. Personally I don't want to support somewhere that I know for a fact how the owner is. If you are smart you will not go to any Bobby q location. You will not support a person that thanks the employees that started from the beginning that helped him like shit. And if you were a customer that went there those wonderful young men and women that were good to you and that you loved that are no longer there remember how good they were to you and that they went above and beyond to make you feel welcome and now they are gone. HORRIBLE!! read more

Still ranks among one of the best BBQ places that we've ever visited. First time to this Mesa location and loved that reservations can now be made on Yelp. 5/5 service on a busy Saturday night and even though we were seated about 1.5 hours before closing time, the food was still delicious and not bottom of the barrel, slim pickings you get at some BBQ places near closing time. Recommend: -Brisket rolls -3 meat combo so you can try a mix of meats. On this visit, we got the baby back ribs, sausage, and brisket. The ribs were the best that I've ever had! Fall off the bone, smoky, and delicious! -Refreshing tropical Q-lada to sip in between bites of appetizing bbq! read more

This place has only been open 9 months but everything runs like it has been here for years! Our server Dimitri was on target the whole time...friendly, attentive, and personable. We met the manager and she was also very friendly and personable. The food was delicious. I had the wedge salad and it was good (hard to ruin a wedge salad). My mom had baby backs (I admit i "borrowed" a bone and it was delicious). She had the potato salad and roasted corn with it. She said it was the best corn she had ever had and she is almost 80 years old! Hubby had pulled pork and gave it a glowing review. Overall great food and excellent service. Will definitely be returning. read more

Bobby Qs is the only place near me that I will eat BBQ. I have said it before that I'm not a BBQ person, but they have the best smoked ribs. Everything is smoked in house, so the smell is Divine when walking by. The spicy BBQ and Carolina BBQ are alternate choices to the original BBQ flavor. I recommend trying all, as they are all tasty. The Mac and cheese was once voted best in state, which I'm not sure if they have won any awards as of late, but I remember the original bobby Qs had better tasting Mac and cheese. Overall, I think it's one of the better and classier BBQ joints in Mesa. They have a great drink selection and appealing, dark bar area as well. read more

Had the BEST experience here and I absolutely have to shout out our server, Melanie! From the moment we sat down, she was fun, attentive, and made the whole night feel special. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does -- her energy totally elevated our dinner. The food was incredible. The barbecue was INSANE (seriously... smoked for 18 hours and you can taste every second of it). Everything came out perfect, flavorful, and worth every bite. And the drinks? So cute, creative, and honestly just as good as they looked. Amazing food, amazing vibes, and next-level service thanks to Melanie. She deserves all the recognition, we'll absolutely be back! read more

I had an OpenTable reservation and had a reward for a 1c drink, it sounds like they hadn't done this before but the bartender asked the manager and they were very helpful and redeemed for me which was nice! The take me to Kokomo was strong!! So good and definitely banana forward. Will give you a buzz if you're on an empty stomach. The brunch menu altogether is quite limited as there's only like 6-8 options to choose from but what they did have was good! The breakfast sandwich had lots of flavor and the eggs with the candied bacon were great, they had a bit of sauce on them but paired well! The bread on it was ok. The burrata my friend said was very good and flavorful and she loved how fresh it tasted! The new Americana was good too and a nice size. I went all the way back to have it corrected, expecting them to remake the order. Instead, they took the food I had already left the restaurant with and brought it back, then put tots into the same box with the original food and handed it back to me. That made me extremely uncomfortable from a food safety standpoint. It is a violation since I took it out of the restaurant... Mistakes happen, and I completely understand that, but after having to come back because my order was incorrect and incomplete, I expected it to be handled more professionally. At the very least, I would have expected fresh food or the replacement tots in a separate container not my already served food being taken back and handled again.

The fries definitely seemed like they had been warmed under a lamp for a while. Probably the best part of the meal was the queso, along with the Double Black Diamond Martinis we had for "Martini Monday." I believe rhe martinis were $7 each which is a great deal these days! It was yummy!! The restaurant was not busy at all on a Monday night. There is a bar on the right side when you enter. There is a huge dining room which would be perfect for a large party. We sat at a quiet booth for tbe evening and our server was great. He even brought us complimentary bread and butter. Overall, the food was okay. I would love to return and try the ribeye again. We really liked the drinks, and will probably return at some point. I will for sure come back for Happy Hour! I'd love to bump up this review to 5 stars, but we shall see...

The salmon was a very very small filet (it was ordered of the regular dinner menu). We feel cheated. We will never go back. What type of place cuts their pork bones in half and calls it 1/2 rack. Bait and switch. I should have taken a picture, but we were so shocked.

Three baseball cut steaks that were bleeding, I dunno how you undercook a steak that small. Then no knife with it? lol how are we suppose to eat it, like a caveman? Just a bad cut Burger: a frozen patty with a generic bun & toppings. How can you not get good beef, form a patty then cook? 2/10 at best Sliders: a little better but small & bland as well.
