This did not disappoint! I got the pandan latte. Definitely heavier on the vanilla flavor but the pandan still comes through. My mom got the crème brulee latte and it was probably one of the better ones I've had. It wasn't just sweet - you could get the essence of that burnt sugar topping. For food we had the spam kimchi cheese croissant and it was so good! The croissant was nice and flaky. There was the perfect ratio of filling. It is a very craveable sandwich. All of this in itself deserved a 5 star review already, but one more thing happened I need to mention. We were just about to leave and I wanted a straw in my drink. I want to put it in the lid and instead I spilled it all over the counter. A woman who I presumed to be the owner immediately came over to clean the mess and told the girl at the counter to remake me a new drink. Given I was taking care of my mom and my daughter today, that small kindness meant a lot to me. Overall, highly recommend Dash. Good coffee and good people.

The Matcha Latte ($7) was so disappointing. I requested it with less ice and less sweet so I got it 80% full. It literally tasted like milk and I couldn't taste any matcha at all unfortunately. They used to use very high quality matcha but the matcha used now is completely different. Mandarin quickly became a TikTok darling, and it has since been featured by the LA Times and The Infatuation. Mandarin is tucked away in the quaint Burlington Arcade on South Lake. The brightly lit, semi-enclosed walkway feels like the streets of London. A firetruck-red telephone booth completes the ambiance. On a weekend morning, the buzzing shop is a stark contrast to the sleepy surrounding storefronts. Mandarin's tiny interior is limited to 4 customers, and it feels immediately serene compared to the shoulder-to-shoulder line. Warm filamented bulbs, pressed-tin ceiling, and dry-brushed slate walls create an industrial-minimalist vibe fitting for the street. Fifties tunes blend with the hum of espresso machines. My fiancee and I arrived before 10AM on the weekend, and we still faced a 20-minute queue down the alley. Once inside, our drinks were promptly prepared to order. We loved the signature "Toasty", an elevated take on milk tea. The spice mix and oat milk combined into a deliciously not-too-sweet drink. Meanwhile, the silky Vienna Latte recalled La Colombe's classic draft latte, but it was decidedly more standard. Lastly, the White Miso Kouign-Amann (billed as a "creme brulee croissant") left us wanting; caramelized sugar collected disproportionately at the bottom. The service was warm and approachable, and pastries and beverages run $5-7 range. Broadly, my fiancee and I agreed that the coffee was good but not quite great, and the pastries weren't worth the premium. While a few other drinks piqued my interest, I can't see myself going out of my way to Mandarin in the future.

Parking is street only, so you might have to walk a bit during peak times, but it's worth it for the atmosphere alone. There are a couple of outdoor tables too, if you want some fresh air. Jameson Brown is an artisan roaster sourcing beans from around the globe, barrels of beautiful coffee beans are on display and you can watch the baristas access them as they craft each drink to order. I must have ordered the Sicily so many times that they should just name the coffee after me. The staff here is wonderful and the baristas genuinely seem passionate about what they're serving. I know what I like so I haven't gotten around to experimenting with the other coffees, but I can feel the intention behind the menu! I had visited this place recently with my colleague for a productive coworking session before attending an event. While I was there, I savored the delightful boba tea while benefiting from the reliable Wi-Fi for several hours. They thoughtfully provided a cozy living room arrangement, offering the option to work from comfortable couches instead of conventional tables and chairs. Since this establishment is located in Old Town, the only minor inconvenience was the need to find parking either in nearby lots or by navigating the streets in search of available spots. The service was efficient and convenient. They even had a user-friendly kiosk where you could conveniently place your drink order. read more

I'd say she's doing a great job so far, and I'm definitely stopping by again! The Build: The drink features a vibrant blend of citrusy yuzu and floral osmanthus tea, paired with their unique silk boba. Unlike traditional chewy tapioca pearls, this boba has an incredibly smooth, silky, and fun texture that completely elevates the drink. The Service: The only real letdown was the service, the lady at the register was honestly kind of rude and not very welcoming, though maybe she was just having a bad day. The Verdict: While the service was pretty mid, the drink itself was a total home run. The flavors and unique boba are too good to pass up, so I will definitely be back just to grab that tea again and to try some of the other drinks on the menu!!

The barista makes the matcha right there in front of you using the traditional Japanese bamboo whisk so you know the matcha is authentic and fresh. You can opt for different sweetness level. I recommend the strawberry match and they also said the eispanner (whipped cream) is popular. Easy public parking around the corner on Fair Oaks/Green St or Raymond. You can taste that this is real quality matcha!

You can specify the level of sweetness, the amount of ice, and the toppings (salty cheese foam, boba, jellies). The milk tea is made with creamer, but you can select fresh milk if you'd like. I didn't see any hojicha or food. Matcha latte ($7.50): it was not a large drink but it was done well enough. Whole milk with hand-whisked matcha, no sugar added. The drink tasted a bit powdery though. It was also grassy. There are three small tables inside.

Off busy Colorado Blvd, one block from the Pasadena Playhouse is Home Brewed. Even on a busy (and…read morehot) Sunday afternoon, it's patio is a quiet, shady nook with soft, eclectic music playing. The coffee is first rate. The chocolate chip scone I had was crispy and wonderful. (Thank goodness they only had one left or I would have had two!) The coffees they featured on the day I was there were Maple Oat and a Sweet and Salty PB (peanut butter) Latte. If those drinks are as good as the mocha they made me, they should be great. My server, Onyx, was very friendly and welcoming -- and was a quick beverage maker. And other staff seemed nice as well. I would happily come to a show early to allow me time to visit here. (I live an hour from here, so, sadly, I won't be haunting their patio.)

The trash was overflowing onto the floor so obviously it hadn't been cleaned that day or the previous one and the walls were dirty. The rest of the store was almost as gross. The trash can outside the bathroom was so sticky I didn't want to put garbage in it. The coffee drinks were super sweet like Starbucks drinks. If you like Dutch Bros, maybe you would like this. Definitely not a coffee shop for people that like coffee.
