With so many boba franchises around, it's a neat treat to see a mom and pop one still operating and serving the community and you can clearly see that the community loves this spot. Polaroid pictures on the wall, sticky notes from happy patrons, board games for people who like to hang out there, I'm sure if there's a school nearby, it's a popular hang out spot (or even for the people attending the martial arts studio nearby), and special packs for big groups too. There's some snacks here (imported chips) and a small fridge with interestingly enough, $1 Malaysian energy drinks and other refrigerated bites. Service was friendly, patient, welcomed me in and asked if it was my first time. Very efficient even when I think there was only a person working the cashier and making the drinks. I got the: 1) Taro Cookies and Cream Slush: -I got this with no adjustments to it, but due to the rush hour traffic and scorching heat, even with my AC cranked up, by the time that I got home, this was mostly melted. -I personally thought this was too sweet, but my brother LOVED it. Ripped open the sealed top to get every sip possible. It's such a simple flavor combination, but it's a good one. 2) Honeydew Milk Tea (1/4 sweet, less ice): -I got this with crystal boba. -Very light flavor, not super sweet nor artificial tasting. -Crystal boba had a nice chew to it and wasn't tough or slimy soft. 3) Okinawa Milk Tea (1/4 sweet, less ice): -I got this with grass jelly and this was mine and my mom's favorite of the bunch. -A light not too sweet milk tea, but the grass jelly added it's own sweetness. Yummy semi-dessert type drink. 4) Vietnamese Coffee with Banana Foam (no added sweetness, less ice): -My dad drank this at 9 PM and still managed to go to sleep 3 hours later but as an individual who as at least a Viet coffee a day, suffice to say he's immune to it. -You get the flavor of Viet coffee, sweet, slightly bitter and then the taste of the banana after. Not bad and not overly sweet with how we ordered it too. If I needed a pick me up at the start of the day, I'd get this. Love that there's the option of adding different flavors to it. All drinks come with the option for 1 free topping and although I'm not a topping person usually, this was really nice! You usually don't see that anymore. She then continued to say something under her breath and when I asked her what she said, she told me to leave and goodbye, and to complain to her manager about her. I was in complete shock. The fact that there were other patrons and she continued to show her ass in front of them is beyond me. I have never in my entire life encountered someone more rude and miserable than this girl. Memo to the owner, if I were you, I would try to hire friendly people to work at your establishment. I would hate for you guys to have a bad reputation because of one miserable employee. I was in the area and needed a boba milk tea for the road to drive back to SF Valley and found this place. I wanted to go somewhere that has its own parking lot and dont want to have to go to downtown Pasadena. The place was empty when I got here and the guy working there asked if I knew what I wanted. Then he asked if it was my first time there which I said it was. I asked for a regular or house milk tea to which he said they have a regular milk tea. Then I saw on the menu that they have winter melon and I asked if I can change my order ti that. He made it for me and told me if I don't like it, he can make me something else. Was pleasantly surprised at the quality as the shop was located in an unassuming strip mall. They have plenty of options to choose from. Prices are average, and they have double deals which is around $1 off for buying 2 drinks in the same category. The workers are quick and friendly. I liked that it included 1 free topping with the drink but the sweetness was overpowering for the Passion Fruit Tea. The worker was nice enough to dilute the drink out further. While I was sitting at the cafe, a lot of people ordered Thai tea, so will try it next time! Yin Yang Tea is located in the Food 4 Less plaza in the corner, so hooray for the parking lot! There isn't much signage since it's in its soft opening phase, so it might be easy to miss. The store wasn't too busy, but there definitely was a steady flow of customers. This is a new boba spot that recently opened up. It's located in the same plaza as Food 4 Less, and it was easy to find parking. It was very quiet when i went. Check in on Yelp to get a 20% off. There are also other deals like the Double Deals, two drinks for a price. I got the Signature Milk Tea, which includes black milk tea, boba, and pudding. Loved the pudding. The boba was good but I do prefer softer boba. Never forget to request less ice! I forgot and got a huge chunk of ice. (They should make it smaller ice.) We usually drive out to Santa Ana or an Arcadia for some good milk tea or Little Tokyo and Ktown when we are in LA but we no longer do ever since discovering Ying Yang Tea! Their bobas and ingredients are always fresh and they always have everything in stock even when it's busy. They also offer VARIETY of options to choose from milk tea to slushy to fruit teas and more. Their service is amazing and they are always welcoming. Their space is clean and spacious and we usually see only one staff out but they are efficient and fast! Also very very accommodating and will work with substitutions which is bonus brownie points for a lactose intolerant person like me. My personal go to is taro anything and one cold day back in December, out of curiosity I asked if I can have any of the drinks warm and they said pick a drink and they will make it happen. I asked for warm taro milk tea and my life hasn't been the same since. This is my first time trying this place out and they been open since May 2023. We were greeted when we walked in which told me they have great customer service in general. The interior is very open and big but theres only like 4 or 5 tables for customers to sit at. There was only one or 2 workers there and the lady that helped me was very nice in helping to recommend a drink since it was my first time. I ordered the okinawa (honey green milk tea) with lychee and boba and this might be my new favorite drink. The boba was perfect in texture and wasnt too hard or too soft and the lychee jelly was really a good mix with the drink and boba but just a heads up when they put the toppings they put A LOT like it felt like the toppings were growing in the cup but it was definitely worth the price. I got it with 50% sugar and it was perfect sweetness level.
