Having had wonderful experiences at other Wushiland locations, we didn't think twice about trying this location in Paseo Pasadena. First, the customer area is very, very small. There were 9 of us there and it was extremely tight. When we opened the doors there was an immediately an extreme and overwhelming Pine-Sol smell. It is good that they are cleaning, but it shouldn't be so overwhelming as to make it unpleasant to be inside. our sweetness levels were not done properly (they actually weren't done at all). We asked for 70% sweet and there wasn't any sweetener at all, but we didn't notice this until we tried our drinks several miles down the road. They were out of two main ingredients during our visit. The staff was not at all polite or welcoming. In fact, the young lady at the counter was downright rude. This location does not accept cash. We happened to be in Downtown Pasadena at Paseo and got treated to one of my favorite Taiwanese bubble tea shop Wushiland Boba on Colorado of Paseo plaza. This location is small, efficient, and clean. Service is very friendly even though it's run only by two employees! I got milk tea with less iced and less sugar. It tastes sweet, with good percentage of milk, and pretty strong tea. There is no seat or tables, so you have to order to go - which is easy with app or in store. En route to the gym, was taken back at seeing signs that Wushiland was opening up at the Paseo. Had heard lots of people raving at how good their drinks were so anxiously awaited them to open up. They are currently still in a soft opening phase but the entire staff is super friendly. Do be patient as they train their staff on how to make drinks. The first thing I noticed was that they offer red bean as a topping which I love to pair with milk tea (was sad Sunright removed this option). Have been a few times and the drinks have been fantastic each time. Wushiland just opened a new store in the Paseo in Pasadena. Yesterday when it was raining, I was craving a hot milk tea, so I placed an order through the app. My drink was ready pretty fast. The store itself is pretty small with no seating available, so it's more of a grab-and-go spot. The milk tea was solid. The boba was nice and chewy, and the tea had a bold flavor, which I liked. I also got the Four Season Tea Macchiato with grass jelly and coconut jelly. It was really good and had a lot of fun textures. I'd come back again for sure. So glad a boba shop opened up in the Paseo! We came on 10/30 for their soft opening for 10% off and the promotion is running until Nov 16! The store is pretty small without any seating area, so definitely a grab and go spot. There is not much space to wait inside either, so if there happens to be a line be ready to wait outside. Upon entering, we were greeted by their staff who were all super friendly and had great energy. I ordered the Ice Cream Milk Tea with 70% sweetness and ice. It was perfectly creamy and the sugar level was perfect for me. Unfortunately, they didn't have any regular boba and only had mini boba available. Visited during their soft opening and while Pasadena has a ton of boba shops to choose from, I'm happy for this new addition to the Paseo Pasadena and I think this location will do well here. I've also been to their Arcadia location so I knew what to expect, though this one is even smaller - definitely a pick-up only kind of place. Service was quick and everyone was super helpful and friendly. I had the earl gray milk tea at regular ice and sweetness with boba, which I enjoyed, as the tea flavor really came through and there wasn't too much ice. In the incredibly complex and competitive space of boba shops in the San Gabriel Valley, one more location of one of the strongest contenders has appeared: Wushiland Boba. This store just opened in The Paseo, an outdoor shopping mall here in Pasadena that's right across from the post office that's on Colorado. I've tried Wushiland Boba before, both the San Gabriel, as well as their Shops At Santa Anita locations are great, so I was already prepared for top-tier Boba with quick, polite and professional service and that's exactly what I got. Larry, the fish that serves as the brand's mascot, kinda makes me think how the tapioca balls could be fish eggs, but in reality, the chewiness of this boba is unmatched. As the Italians say when they speak about pasta cooked to perfection: this boba is "al dente". This is a very strong franchise back in Taiwan, and I can see why. I got the Brown Sugar Green Tea Boba Milk Tea with 0 ice and 100% sugar and it was 10/10. Highly recommended. I think this location is owned by a different franchisee than the ones in San Gabriel and Arcadia since it doesn't participate in the same promotions. However, the brand seems to have their supply and process on lock because the drinks are consistent with the other locations. The two knocks with this location are: 1) every time I've been there they have had only one worker so they aren't as quick, and 2) Paseo is a ghost town so they provably don't get enough business to justify more employees. I really like this chain so I hope the location survives but Paseo is quite dead. Which might be why they close so early compared to other locations. read more

Excellent addition to the Paseo, was waiting for a drink place to come up aside from Starbucks. I came during the weekend during the soft opening phase and the drink/ordering process was smooth. Workers were friendly and design/logo of the wushiland pops out. It's a smaller place with no seating; but I can see it being optimal for pickups and deliveries or just roaming around after the theatre etc, but I guess that is line-dependent.
