So I got the chicken pad Thai. It's gone up in price, yet it's no longer yellow. I can see the photos where is used to be yellow, and that ensures me I wasn't just imagining it. Sorry to be a "negative Nancy", but this place sucks. Went for bubble tea and would not recommend to anyone. The menu is super confusing so I ended up ordering a specialty tea that didn't even contain boba. Apparently that is an add-on. I did not want to be a bother and have the girl make me a new tea. As for the tea itself, both mine and my boyfriends were over-steeped which caused a bitter flavor. Both of our teas also tasted like a syrup factory meltdown - WAY too sweet but not sweet enough to cover up the flavor of the oversteeped leaves. This store is adorable. It is well decorated and very festive for the holiday coming up (Halloween). I got the pho which tastes amazing, more noodles and broth than meat. I also got a large bubble tea. Which is pretty tasty, however, they filled the cup with 75% ice. I would say to take it easy on the ice level, but I suppose they do this to mellow out the sweetness. The spring roll was fresh and good. Peanut sauce was good too, not too overwhelming or too salty. I did not get any entrees, though, they sound good. When I found out that this was the only boba place in Slidell so far, I automatically wanted to try the place out. Mango Dat is good. Even amount of sweetness w that bitter taste of green tea. I wish the tapioca pearls was a bit bigger but their tapioca pearls are a bit smaller than the normal size. The mango bits float at the top so they're mostly their for decorations. I did notice, though I did not order, that they use powder for their fruit smoothies. I'd prefer the actual fruit but I'd understand that some are not in season so they wouldn't be good to drink or hold much flavor. I honestly only came here for the boba and it did not disappoint with my drink. I might avoid the fruity smoothies the next time I come over because I tend to avoid drinks with powder. Overall, I came around 11 am so before lunch. It wasn't busy. There were like three tables taken. We could choose to sit anywhere. The staff were very nice and welcoming. I usually eat at Pho House but they are closed on Sundays so I gave this place a try. I ordered take out. They did have it ready really fast! I had the chicken pho and fresh shrimp rolls. I am extremely disappointed with the amount of Pho they gave me for a large. Pho House is more than double amount...I can't eat it all in one meal. Their smoothies are excellent, but full of sugar (which is why they are go good)... my problem is the lack of training and/or common sense. While one girl was making my smoothie, another girl wanted to smell the syrup, so she puts her face over the container that my smoothie is in (about 2 inches over the top, but she was face down over the blender container), and smelled my smoothie! This was while the other girl was measuring the milk. It was so gross. I said nothing because I didn't want to cause a scene and also didn't want to get the girl in trouble or embarrass her. Boba is amazing, and there is unique flavors specialty to the area like "Tiger" Who Dat, etc. Stuff is very polite, the vibe of the place is very nice and clean. Tables are wiped after every customer, and staff is very polite about spills, I would know! I have tried Quickly, Sushilicious, and a million other places, but this is definitely the best. I literally hate writing negative reviews. But i rely heavily on honest opinions from the yelp and google check communities to determine whether i spend my money or not. I was so disappointed with this place! Walking in the place looks clean. I really appreciated the detail they put on the ceiling. All empty tables were clean. I stress that because that seems to be overlooked in so many restaurants I visit. I had to wait in a short line to order which didn't take long for my turn. The employee who took my order was nice! I ordered the shrimp pho and Vietnamese egg rolls! I paid and waited for my food! I was pretty set on driving to Heritage to eat because the weather was so nice! I set up my food and prepared to chow down. Took my first big excited bite of pho and had to spit it out! Ugh! I couldn't quite tell what tasted so bad so i started sniffing everything in the container! After further inspection, I found out that it was the shrimp. They were freezer burn and tasted horrible!! I have never experienced anything like that before. I packed up all my stuff and drove back to get a refund. All the employees were looking as if they were shocked that it was freezer burned. The manager (at least i think it was the manager) comes out and ask what was wrong. I explain what it was. He looks at my pho which literally was all there including the shrimp i spit back in it and tells the employee to give me a refund. He never apologized or offered to replace my meal with something else. I just figured he was embarrassed or upset. I was so turned off i decided not to eat anything until much later that day. That happened about 2 or 3 months ago. My first and last visit My suggestion is that they focus on quality of food more than anything. Customer service and atmosphere was good but if the food isn't good at a restaurant you're doomed Ps i was going to a place i liked in New Orleans for shrimp pho but the drive was a bit far ! I hope somewhere in Slidell steps up their pho game so i can have a go to! I'm hoping for the best! So let me know if you been recently and had the shrimp pho. How was it? I love the set up for the tea add-on very sleek and transpa. I went on the second day it open and they were out of many flavors which was a bit disappointing. I had to constantly compare the menu to the list of flavors they were currently out of which was annoying. After ordering my drink someone yelled from behind the counter we are out of strawberry so I had to change my order yet again. Cashier was polite and very apologetic although she handed me the wrong tea order. After taking a sip I realized that wasn't my order. Immediately it was rectified.
