I recently moved to Slidell a few months ago, and I've been missing my pho spot in my old town. So I ordered this as take out. Thinking I'll just give it a shot. I was so happy. For one it came with the bowl. I know that's something so small but I LOVE that it came with a bowl. The veggie bag was packed with everything I could possibly need. So much meat in the soup. After stopping for gas in the area, we headed over to Pho House for lunch. We ordered the spicy beef noodle soup (bun bo hue) and grilled pork & egg roll vermicelli (thit nuong & cha gio.) The pork was sliced a bit too thick for my liking. However, the food was surprisingly very tasty, considering we're in Louisiana. Without a doubt, the food served at Pho House surpasses Pho Ever in Leesville. The 3.95% credit card charge sucks, but you have no choice but to pay up unless you have cash ready and available in your wallet. There's a large aquarium situated near the bar area. The booth seats are pretty worn and should be replaced or possibly reupholstered. Service was very friendly and upbeat. Amazing Pho! I've lived close to this restaurant for almost 2 years. I am disappointed that I didn't try it sooner! The pho was delicious. I had the spicy beef and an order of eggrolls. My mom had the wonton soup and she also enjoyed it. I actually tried hers and the broth was so flavorful and full of depth unlike most wonton soups that I've had in the past. My sons had the chicken pho and the bubble tea. They thought it was excellent too! Let's just say they have some new regular customers. Tastes like I am back in Thailand. I have tried other places and it's just not the same. Usually, the meat is just not...well...real meat. The meat used here is marinated for a while. It's juicy. I had the Banh Mi on french bread, a green tea boba, and the steamed buns. The Banh Mi had to adjusted for me (I have one kidney) to a low salt option but it was very tasty. I ordered a large pho Tia to go. When i picked up my order I noticed it was just two containers. One with the broth and one with the noodles with the bloody raw steak on top. I also noticed it was only a small regular portion size Pho and not a large. I asked the waitress if she could have it remade with the meat separated because I did not want to risk getting sick from the blood juice... I'm so torn about how to review this place because the food is great but the service isn't the best. The servers aren't very attentive by any means. I went for lunch with a friend and they took 10-15 minutes just to get our order, brought us spring rolls and then took them away (we don't know why), have us someone else's order and then took it away and replaced it without saying anything, we had to flag someone down to get our bill, it was just strange. Wow! Pho House made my day go from zero to 100 real quick. I ate here for lunch this past Friday and it was EXCELLENT! We ordered the shrimp & pork spring rolls and the Black Special (pho) for lunch. They were packed but the one server was takin care of business and takin care of the entire restaurant by himself. Even with this being the case, we didn't have to wait at all for him or the food. He had such a good attitude it made us feel happy to be there as well, and with a happy staff/ full restaurant I knew the food was gonna be good. The Black Special was my favorite. The spicy beef broth was pretty hot but not unbearable. The meat was cooked just right. Spring rolls were freshly rolled and the shrimp was seasoned so deliciously.
